Open Way Yoga is a gathering place for people interested in yoga, mindful movement, holistic health and the arts.
OWY’s mission is to create an affirming community passionate about using the traditions, evolution, and philosophy of yoga and other movement forms as tools for growth and self-healing.
Our goal is to bring all kinds of people together to move as a group, to inspire self-driven self-healing practices, and to create shared authentic experiences that inspire each student to discover personal paths to well-being.
Yoga is a practice, not a destination! At OWY we offer classes in a variety of yoga styles and include an organic mix of ancient and modern practices. Every Body is Welcome!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Open Way Yoga! Each teacher brings their own unique style, but all share a knowledge of yoga, mindfulness, and anatomy. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced practitioner, you’ll feel supported, seen, and challenged in the best way possible. It’s clear that this studio isn’t just a business — it’s a community and a place of healing. I’m truly grateful to have Open Way in my life.

Hi Shannon,
I just wanted to express how very much I appreciated you/Michael allowing me to join class virtually this morning even though I misunderstood the coverage of my membership and I shouldn’t have had access. Last night when I received word that a woman I knew through church was in need of safe housing for the night, I knew this morning’s class for me was going to need to be put on the back burner. Then I remembered there was a virtual option where I might be able to still practice with you all even though I needed to be on site at my house, but I didn’t realize it was an add on membership.
I started coming to OWY to address stress building in my life and body. It was manifesting in health and heart issues. My husband is a pastor and our church’s vision statement is “to be a multi ethnic, multicultural movement that manifests the kingdom of God”. It is a beautiful but challenging calling in challenging cultural/political times. The special you made available over the summer and subsequent reduced enrollment monthly pricing made it possible for me to give attention to “noticing” my own body and to developing tools to address those needs through the outlet of yoga. Giving attention to myself subsequently has allowed me to give of myself to other people again from a healthier and more sustainable place. I am grateful to be part of the community at a rate I can afford for now, to be learning practices I can continue to practice on my own, and for all the free options that have been made available. Thank you also for being willing to allow April and I use of the open space room on Tuesdays. I just wanted to communicate my genuine appreciation for your (and the staff’s) generous and caring approach to your business. Have a great week!
Very Gratefully,
Jen

One of my favorite places on Earth! If you make it to the north coast (Huron, Sandusky, Port Clinton, Catawba Island, Marblehead, Milan, Norwalk or Vermilion) and love yoga, exercise or positive body work, it’s a must try. They offer a spectrum of practices, from healing and somatic movement to athletic and sculpting flow to meditation and workshops. The teachers are authentic, compassionate, and knowledgable. The studio is welcoming, colorful and inspiring. Whether you drop-in or try their various specials, you’ll be treating yourself to a true Lake Erie gem when you visit Open Way.

New management has split the monthly unlimited yoga pass for the two studios. There is hardly any classes in the Sandusky rec studio (which isn't even on google maps, no wonder no one knows about it). Thus its not warranted to have the price be the same. New management is all about profit and greed, they constantly badmouth about the old management during class which is defamation, legal action could be taken if old management is informed.
Yoga teaches us to about finding peace within ourselves and forgiving others, not slandering people to the students who come to yoga. Each yogi who comes to yoga is seeking a solution to their own issues they need to work through, they don't need to hear about the drama with your ex.
Find another studio. This one doesn't deserve your money anymore.

Open Way Yoga is like no other studio around! It’s not just about yoga. The teachers provide an experience teaching you about how to move and practice through somatic movements. They have a depth knowledge about nervous system health, how to manage it especially if you’ve experienced traumatic life experiences. I highly recommend anyone that wants/needs to improve their well being and learn how to manage emotional stress to try it out!

I started at open way as a student, graduated from the ytt program and can’t say enough about the quality of teacher & heart Shannon has on and off the mat. I always feel welcome and included every time I step through the door no matter how much time passes.

Bought 30 day intro package. Have emailed twice with questions but no reply. My family is brand new to yoga. I feel no trust or confidence in a business that doesn’t return messages and doesn’t communicate. Requested refund and cancellation via email and phone message. Finally found their Google listing here and a phone number. The website left us with nothing but a dead end email. How does a business like this survive? 😢

I have not been to many yoga studios outside of my home town and I am SO HAPPY I chose this to be one of the first ones I visit outside of my comfort zone. The environment was perfect, the people were very pleasant and welcoming, the instructor taught me a breath I have not been able to learn in 5 years in less than 1 minute. I am thankful to have met these people and I look forward to the life changing experience I know is coming my way by finding Open Way!

I've only attended two things here as of the time of this writing. A regular class, and a special event: Pour a Glass.
The class was a stretch (Get it? Lol. HEY! I think I'm funny. . .haha) for my skill set, but I felt welcome there and comfortable. The main person there is friendly, not over the top, but welcoming. The instructor was professional, but not cold at all.
They have a page as well for their special events, ranging from special classes for specific demographics to just lighter, more social, classes. Again, welcoming, and worth the time and price.
I found my studio!

I've been there for a handful of classes (around 5ish) and have always had a great time. The environment is nice, relaxing, and the instructors are flexible (pun intended) with varying skill levels. I'd recommend it to a friend
