Was about to join until I got the the part that they need to access to my bank account directly, not a credit card. This makes no sense and essentially inviting a vampire into your home. The only way I would be willing to start a membership would be to use a burner bank account, which isnt that hard but doesn't seem like its worth the effort.
Also, there are some very concerning issues in their privacy policy. Clearly, they have enough customers that don't research or understand their decisions enough to be moved by this review, and this will probably fall on deaf ears.

Been coming here for the past 3 months now. Not the best I’ve been to but still gets the job done. It’s a pretty big planet but it gets soo busy on the weekdays after work hours. I mostly go between the times of 5pm-7pm but I’m slowing down on doing that and going to another that’s less busy. Maybe they could add more equipment that people actually enjoy using like the calf machine. Possibly make more room for the adjustable benches. That’s a popular area. Another downside is that there are a lot of people who come here just to lounge around. They almost treat it like a night club to talk and/or hookup. Last but not least, the staff is a hit or miss. You can get the “hey, have a good workout” or an unfriendly stare.

This place is what you think a Planet Fitness is going to be. Old equipment, disgusting locker room and patrons that never re-rack or wipe down equipment after using. Sanitizing stations with none functioning paper towel dispensers and empty bottles of spray. Fortunately only a handful of Planet Fitness facilities are as bad as this one. I will drive 20 miles to go to any other facilities and will not return to this one.

Went to workout on second shift, asked the blonde woman working at the counter when it slows down usually and the smith machines would become more free since alot of people where using them. She replied saying its "really busy right now". So I asked when does it "cool down in here" implying like when does it become slower so I can come back in. She then just repeated "its really busy right now" in a rude way. So I left the counter but returned almost immediately to return the cushion I borrowed for the smith machine I couldn't use, and she was talking poorly about me to the bald man that worked there as if I had done something wrong or was annoying? Almost made me want to cancel my membership but I enjoy working out so instead will just leave this review to let yall know that lady is rude for no reason. Idk maybe she was just having a bad day, but people are there to be healthy so she should be in there with a healthy mindset and not make people feel deterred from going to the gym.

I regularly attend the roberts rd bethel and sawmill road, so I’m over and include his location and they’re all busy which is great unless you spend the money and stop being so cheap and buying enough equipment to support the actual attendance in your facilities every single day there is an inadequate quantity of equipment outside cardio fix it spend the money sell some of the cardio And your service is really lacking. Obviously it’s busy and you can afford it. Fix it.

They charged me a late fee claiming they didn’t have access to my account when my primary form of payment is my direct bank account. Waited then took it out of my bank account and said the extra charge was for a late fee. When they could have taken it out of my bank like I had set it up as. When I told them this they said it’s a bank issue no my banks not the one charging me a late fee that should have never been charged. The girl buts the assistant manager on the phone who is rude and hangs up on me. I called back 3 times and each time no one speaks they just hang up. I called back again and the first girl answers again and refuses to let me speak to the store manager. She stated that the general manager is on vacation. In a chain of command the general manager is reached after speaking with the store manager. She refused to connect to the manager. Refused to inform who I was speaking to as I was going to report them and will. Then hung up on me. Unprofessional!! Do not go to this gym!!

Hilliard gym is disgusting. Humid with sweat and crowded at all times. There are no enforcement of basic gym etiquette, so expect to wipe down everything since nobody else does. Do you want to be on someone's Youtube stream as they flex with a camera stand watching them? You've come to the right gym! This place is a joke. zgo to Sawmill Road PF, it's roomier and the treadmills are newer with tablet screens. The Hilliard machines are about 25 years old, maybe 50, I can't tell.

The "crowd meter" does not seem to be accurate. Went yesterday only 20% "crowd meter" but gym was kinda full maybe half.. the only things not in use seemed to be sit down and the weird cycle stand treadmills.. regular treadmills mostly used except the broken ones or powered off units.

Here's more than you ever wanted to know about this Planet Fitness location. Let me say up front, I'd give 3.5 stars if that were an option, because for its shortcomings it's still a great value. This location is better than a 3.0, but I can't justify giving it a 4.

Now, there's a lot to like here. This gym is close to home for a lot of people, and it's generally very clean. They usually do a solid job of keeping paper towels, cleaning solution, and bathroom soap full. Most of the machines are practically useful, without a lot of wasted space on obscure equipment.

Like any Planet, you're out of luck if you need heavy free weights. The dumbbells go moderately heavy in weight, but you won't find a barbell with plates outside of the Smith machines, which are impossible to use in peak hours. I kind of wish they'd do sign-ups for the Smiths (or even charge extra). There's a handful of notorious guests who have no trouble hogging a Smith or two adjacent cable machines for an hour at a time.

If you come during peak times--particularly weekdays after work--it's a madhouse. Expect to wait for machines. Dozens and dozens of people are here in the evenings with just 2 leg extension machines and one chest fly, for example. And people will overflow from the free weights area and migrate into the 30 Min. Workout, TRX, and calisthenics rooms to find enough space to move freely.

I'm generally a fan of the staff. They're all somewhere between friendly and passive, which as good as you can reasonably expect from a big box gym. The good ones will say hello when you walk in and wish you a good night when you leave.

There are, however, a few things holding this gym back from greatness...

I'd like to see more equipment maintenance: When the same machine has been slightly broken for a year, it doesn't give the sense that the equipment is regularly checked.

I've seen the same frayed cable pressdown rope, like, forever. One of these days, it's going to snap during a heavy lift, and someone will get injured. It's an obvious problem with an inexpensive fix, and they ought to be addressing issues like this more regularly.

Also, nearly every elliptical has some kind of small issue: A broken HR sensor, slop or looseness in the exercise mechanism, or a resistance setting that's either broken or needs adjustment. I keep notes on my phone as to which few machines are in good shape, which I shouldn't have to do. They really need to do a sweep of all the equipment to fix issues.

Black Card membership is still $25. In some areas I heard it increased recently, but so far not here. The massage chairs are old and in rough shape, with tears in the upholstery which gives me the ick.

If the Black Card price does increase, they'll be dangerously close to Metro Fitness pricing only 5 minutes north of here. And as packed as this Planet is and with the limited weekend hours, Metro is an alternative worth considering.

Lastly... Guys, you have SO many members, plus new member Classic pricing just increased by 50% in one fell swoop. Can we pleeeease stay open later than 7 PM on the weekends? I get that you scaled down from 24/7 during COVID, but it's been years.

To summarize, this is a solid gym if you're on a tight budget, aren't a super heavy lifter, and don't need to work out at night on the weekends. At still only $15/month, it's even a good option as a convenient second gym if you already have a membership to a "real gym" elsewhere. This is definitely one of the best Planet Fitness locations in the city.

A lot of older equipment than compared to my home PF gym, which my home PF had an equipment reset 2 years ago and just received the 3 new machines. The gym was clean for being as busy as it was! Came to this location for the first time this afternoon!. Amazing and clean facility! Locker room clean and smelled clean. Staff friendly, responsive and receptive. Staff dressed appropriately. CLUB MANAGER DONALD. Is Wonderful and professional. Excellent customer service! Walks the floor and makes sure gym folks are following rules and safety practices. Chatted with him after my workout. Would give zero if possible. I placed my weights down next to the bench and sat on it, then some random trainer picked up my weights and asked the people in the other bench if it was theirs, but never even looked my direction. Before I could stop him he took the weights and started walking away, I followed him and told him the weights are mine and he said “they’re mine now they were just laying there.” This is a damn trainer that works at the place.

I've been a member since they opened, but the parking lot has gotten worse in the past year. You either worry about being hit while walking in the crosswalk or your car being hit, and I don't understand why people park in the middle of the road and they won't even be in it...
I don't know what's going on but ever since that cell phone place opened up next door the issues have been increasing I swear all the issues I have listed above they all go in that place...

Cars keep getting broken into not safe to leave your car there when working out 2 nights ago over 10 cars we’re broken into mine included and this is not the first or second time something like that happens. upgrade your security system. After being a black card member since 2018 I went into the Planet Fitness on Roberts Rd in Hilliard to downgrade my membership. I was told it was going to cost me $5 to downgrade? Seriously?? Traveling through and stopped here based on reviews. Honestly no complaints. Gym was clean, organized, employees were active talking with members and cleaning the mirrors. Bathrooms were very clean and the members were all actively working out. I arrived here about 8:30pm, gym was semi-busy and after an hour the gym capacity was still about the same. This club is extremely clean, staff is friendly, has tons of machines and space, and good hours. I am also very impressed with the personal trainer Paul. He is so encouraging, gives clear instructions, motivates in a positive way and makes classes fun.

In have the PF Black card and the total body enhancement, tanning and massage chairs are worth the extra money.

Never joined a gym before and so far I've been going consistently for a month and see myself being a member for a long time!

I moved out of state and they wouldn’t let me cancel unless I went into the branch. But then I kept asking them what else I could do and they finally told me to mail in a letter with the type of account and the agreement number requesting to cancel. I did that and sent it in on the 10th. Then I got an email stating that they’re charging me again on the 14th for a whole other month and my subscription won’t be cancel until a month from now. No one mentioned that they needed to receive the cancellation before the 10th of the month to avoid further charges. These guys make it so difficult to cancel and they’re just ripping people off as a result, charging them for a gym membership for months that they can’t even use. It should be illegal for companies to do this do their customers. Nobody should be able to charge their customers for a service that isn’t delivered, and they should make it so difficult to cancel. It’s ridiculous. As soon as a customer says I don’t consent to you automatically taking money out of my bank account they should be required to stop. And if they continue as far as I’m concerned that’s theft - because it’s taking money from a customer without their consent.

As a whole, I've had good experiences with this particular PF facility. The new equipment is great and the gym/locker room is clean. Yes it does get incredibly busy during some of the peak times, but as long as you stay flexible and patient you can get onto everything you need. The only "negative" I have is I wish they would figure out a better system for ensuring the paper towel holders are filled. I understand there may not be a great solution, but it occurs more frequently than other PFs I've been to.

It's not a big deal the trash cans are always full and some of the paper towel dispensers either are empty or don't work mainly on the weekends.
But what is a big deal is my car was involved in a hit and run on 11/11 almost right in front of the building probably the closest spot you can get other than handicap I know Management in the building have sent out three emails I've sent out emails...

Planet fitness is great. I definitely like the no judgement branding and atmosphere. Feels like a place for just normal people of all fitness levels and goals to work out. I'm inexperienced in a gym and find the diagrams on the machines incredibly helpful about proper position, the exercise motion, and the muscle groups very helpful.

The experience across the different gyms I visited is similar -- clean and chill with friendly staff and plenty of equipment even when relatively busy. The hours vary but they are open hours to accommodate most busy schedules - early or late - with many being open 24/5 that I've visited, but at least 5a - 10p weekdays and 7 to 7 on weekends.

It’s a nightmare between 3pm and after 7pm. It’s impossible to get a decent workout in with punk @$$ kids and people spending 30-45 minutes the same machine playing on their phones. They’re also always out of paper towels to wipe machines down and the crowd meter is not accurate.

This gym is one of the dirtiest gyms I’m have ever been to. There are Hair balls everywhere m. -you cannot drop down and Do any push ups or any workout including the floor bc as soon as your hand meets the floor it is covered in a layer of hair. they haven’t thoroughly cleaned this gym in a very long time. Even the weights are very busted up old and dirty and coming -apart after using the free weights my hands were covered in dirt - just unacceptable nothing like my home gyms on bethel and sawmill

This looked to be a small PF at first glance but it's actually bigger than you would think. Not bad place they have some updated equipment and stuff. The biggest issues I had were the showers, and surprisingly the paper towel dispensers. The dispensers were either not functioning properly or empty, and the only one that did work right was the one used near the message bed. The men's facilities weren't too bad but showers could definitely use some cleaning. All in all there was not as much staff on shift so I don't levy a heavy burden on them, but upkeep is a must.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. My only "qualm" is during peak hours (4pm-7pm). I wipe every machine down after each workout; however, I find the paper towel dispensers in certain areas empty, despite a "full" staff. Paul (trainer) is one of the few people who commit to maintaining the gym, at least from my observation.

The environment itself is very welcoming. There's a wide range of people who frequent here (novice, intermediate, and experienced lifters). Everyone I've met here is very friendly and it's a solid environment for people to socialize and better themselves.

My only complaint is, unlike other PFs in town, there are no televisions tuned to a news station. Surly for those doing a treadmill workout the news would be more interesting than animal planet, or having three of 11 tvs on ESPN. I asked THE MANAGER, and he said it's decreed by the franchise owner. There seems to be some kind of Politics issue. Come on, Trump's been gone two years, and we just want to see what's going on in the world. It is so easy to change a station.

So far I enjoy this location out of the 3 near me. Very clean and great, friendly staff. Broken equipment gets fixed regularly. My only wish is they had a functional training room with kettle bells and TRX like at my old PF. The 12-min abs room is always empty and would be a good place to put all of that. Also replace all the stationary benches with adjustable ones, they are in high demand and sometimes I have to wait to get access to one.
