Deli working as manager was super awesome, wanted to workout with the sunshine and asked to take equipment outside, it was against protocol but they were super cool enough to offer to open a window, had the best workout ever, fresh air and sunshine all while inside the gym! I really wanted to give a better rating. At first I thought it was a nice gym for what we were looking for. After a couple months I have noticed things that bother me.
To be fair it is not gym specific issues.
One is that the same urinal has been broken the whole time. Which is a real issue when there are only 2.
The other is member hygiene. The staff doesn't do a good job calling out members who don't clean the equipment after use. In fact the staff doesn't correct members at all for this.
Then there is the members that reek of body odor. I'm not talking about the normal gym smell. These people reek before they start working out and it is only amplified once they start sweating. It's so bad I have to move machines to get away from it.
The staff are so afraid to offend someone, they will not tell them they stink.
Hygiene needs to be enforced at the gym in all aspects.

Ever since the remodel the gym has been a huge downgrade. I joined because it is only a block from my house but I now drive to a location 15 minutes away because this gym is literally unusable ever since the upgrade.

It is very clear that management and ownership do not use their own gym. Ownership commenting “complain to the manager instead” is laughable and Just goes to show how much they care.

This Location used to be decent. It had plenty of machines, variety, and access to maintain your workout during the rush of crowds. Since the “upgrade” in June, what used to be manageable has become impossible. From 6 smith machines to only 2. From Two of the same machines down to only 1. The replacement equipment does not do much to alleviate the lines and crowds. At peak time, this gym has become a sea of people waiting for machines to open up. The upgrade is not only incredibly unpopular as recent reviews suggest, but also completely unnecessary and a rather large gamble. It cannot be considered an “upgrade” when most of the equipment is removed. This “upgrade” was completed with zero to little research, no after thought on the effects of the changes, and a complete disregard to the members ability to perform their workouts and routines. For a location as popular and busy as this one, the changes and plans have become a complete miss and the response we are left with is a scripted response and to mention it to the gym manager. I like the staff here, they’ve always been decent to us. This is not their fault, but I hope our complaints and suggestion do not fall onto deaf ears.

I absolutely loved working out at this gym. The staff are friendly and it's conveniently located to where I work. However, after the changeover in equipment in June, they removed a lot of the machines. The new equipment is already breaking down. It's absolutely ridiculous and it's causing me to seek out other gym memberships. I'm going to miss it but I'm not going to pay the same money I've always paid for to be able to use 60% of the equipment I once had access to

June “upgrade” is terrible. They got rid of most of their machines. The place was relatively slow compared to normal and all the equipment was still always full. Unless you are going to use just dumbbells or a treadmill, this gym is no longer a convenient place to workout.

The Strongsville location is nice because it is so close to the highway for access. The people of Strongsville are very nice too. I had no issues with people staring at my wife, and the staff member was very helpful and friendly, even though she was the only one working at the time. She showers are clean and maintained and the changing booths at the showers are large with chairs. It is always a good experience at the Strongsville location.

We love our Strongsville PF!
However, following recent changes, it has become increasingly difficult to maintain a consistent workout routine. The area in the left corner, where the second set of dumbbells and benches were previously located, has been redesigned with different equipment. Many of us rely on the space for both dumbbells and benches, as well as the mirrors. Unfortunately, the limited space in the right corner has become overcrowded, even during non-peak hours. My friends, my husband, and I find the relocation of the equipment to be impractical, making it challenging to continue our regular workouts. We kindly request that the dumbbells and benches be returned to their original location in the left corner.

I have been a black member for years my wife and step daughter also. Love the place BUT the staff really needs to pay attention to people on cleaning their machines when done I politely ask one gentleman to clean after he used his machine and he laughed at me I took it up to front desk told me they said something and the very next day he still didn’t wipe his machine off. The location is really small .... They still have the old style total body enhancement bed that gets super hot and there were a bunch of bulbs burnt out in it. Also still have the old style hydro beds but they work okay. Honestly I was really uncomfortable working out here with how small and packed the gym was... I just stared a hole into the floor the whole time I was there because I was so anxious because I felt like I had no personal space... Everybody was just right there.... I like the larger locations better because the machines are more spaced out and you don't have so many people in one area at one time. I won't come here again, working out in this small crowded location almost gave me a panic attack.... I go to the planet fitness in Avon all the time with no anxiety issues. Strongsville is just too small when it's crowded. They should have made it 2 floors.

this is the 3rd time in 4 years i've written about this parking lot, they did patch it a few years ago , but it needs total resurfacing, grind it down , haul it away to a recycle plant and re pave the lot , theres quite a few companies that do this work, i know its not cheap but it lasts for decades , this existing lot is from the 90's when it was ethan allen furniture store, its long overdue,,its a pain trying to avoid those huge potholes every day, this work could be done without disrupting business hours, there is plenty parking on the left side by buca de beppo

It’s an excellent gym, very large and tons of equipment. Good combination of machines and free weights that should be more than adequate for 99+% of people. The atmosphere is really nice, temperature is perfect, staff are all friendly and helpful.

My one main gripe with the place is that the showers are sometimes a bit gross. The facilities themselves are really nice, but the floor is often visibly dirty.

Some of the fitness equipment could use some upkeep, replacement pads, etc, although it’s better than most gyms.

The black card spa is great. I love having massage chairs and recovery options available right there for post workout.

Overall, I don’t think you’ll find a better all around gym in the area. I’d give it 4.5 stars if possible because It’s not PERFECT, but it’s great. Decided to go with a 5 because I think some of the other low rating reviews are short sighted and unfair.

Know their scam: They offer "$10 no commitment" - which a normal person would think means it's going to cost you around $120 a year. WRONG! They then slide in a $40-$50 enrollment fee, and a $49 annual fee on top of that! Plus "fees" and taxes. Oh, and I just checked the enrollment terms today and the annual fee is actually charged ONE MONTH after initially enrolling! So if you join and quit 3 months later, it will NOT cost you $30 -- it can cost you almost $150!!! That's $50 a month -- NOT "$10 a month." How this company has not been shut down by the FTC is a mystery -- especially since you can enroll online -- but you can't CANCEL your membership online (or over the phone) -- you HAVE to appear at the Planet Fitness location where you signed up. (Good luck if you move and forget to cancel before moving!)

I’ve been going to planet fitness in Parma for many years. Decided to take my girlfriend to the one in Strongsville and there is a man name Max who works there. He is very rude and disrespectful even said a racist comment towards my gf who is of African-American descent. Ever since I brought my girlfriend with me to the one in Strongsville, he stopped, saying hello when we Walk in, and ignores us when we leave. Please avoid this gym if he is there, he will make you feel uncomfortable if you are a different race.

First day coming to Planet Fitness in Strongsville. Says on Tuesday they are open 24 hours. However I show up and the doors are locked. About 12 cars in the parking lot not able to get in. Not happy I woke up at 5AM to just sit in a parking lot.

This location was better before the remodel. I have let staff know for a few months the new treadmills don't work properly. I have had to interrupt my workout many times because once you raise the incline, it gets stuck there. You have to hit emergency stop to reset it. Apparently it's a "software update" but after a few months, they have not fixed the problem. The old treadmills were much better. Secondly, all the hassle and inconvenience of the remodel and it is worse. I'm not sure what they were going for. There are more toilets, but now there is a lack of privacy in the shower area because the toilet area is within vision of the shower area. The equipment is jammed in there and there is little room to do free weights or grab a mat and do floor exercises. The only reason I still go is because it's cheap and convenient but if the treadmill situation isn't fixed soon I'd rather pay more for better.

I love this place. I am by no means a Planet Fitness aficionado however, this is one of the smallest PF locations I’ve ever seen. Despite the small size, I’ve never had to wait on a machine. The layout they’ve chosen takes advantage of the space really well and there’s plenty of treadmills/weight machines. The owner(s) really care about this place and it shows. Everything is clean, the front desk fitness staff are all very friendly, there’s always pretty good music playing. Above all, some of the other reviews complained about there not being enough smith machines, and seemingly overnight new equipment appeared.
When I originally joined I was upset and tried to change my home location to North Olmsted. I no longer have those feelings, and I’m happy to call this PF location my home gym 😊

I love the layout of the Planet fitness in Strongsville. It's not convenient for me to get there because my wife doesn't work in Strongsville anymore and the one in Brook Park is closer. But once in awhile I'll head for Strongsville. I wish the one in Brookpark had the same layout. In Brook Park the machines are too close together and they are jumbled up. The wall in front of the ab room needs to come down and it will give more room for the machinery. But it's a great deal and the people that work there are nice. I enjoy any planet fitness! I would recommend Planet fitness to anyone that wants to work out.

They made me do all kinds of paperwork even though my membership card accepted me. Then I had to get on another computer answer all these questions. Then they had to put it into their computer and then I only have certain amount of time I work. I jump in and out and then for tanning someone comes in after 25 minutes of being in here going through all this hassle and they gave him the tanning bed that I've been trying to get done that would only took me 12 minutes. Now I had to walk out and I couldn't get nothing done. I only had 45 minute gap to get what I needed done in here. Ruined my whole day. Thank you! Absolutely worst. First planet fitness I’ve been to in my 5 years enrolled that actually saw that weight lifting was more popular and added extra smith machines, and doubled all the weights. 5 stars for that alone! Awful been at this gym for a while the remodeling process was a nightmare, charged for the gym even though you didn't have access to the full gym they are still under the remodel process been doing in since August when we were all told it would take a month or two to complete. The remodeling has made the gym even smaller than what it was before so there is zero room to work out with ropes or kettlebells, equipment is so close together that you are literally working out on top of another person. Switching my membership over to Brunswick or Brookpark where you can actually utilize the equipment and space.

I have now followed up at your facility three times with the request to get my billing statements emailed to me, as I need this in order for our company to reimburse us for the year. I was initially told to go online to pull this up using my membership number. I did so, but the website only gives me November and December. I went back into the club and was told by the supervisor they would talk with the regional manager and call me back. I have followed up twice since then and keep getting the same response with no call back. Why can the Avon location print them up when a co-worker made the same request a few weeks ago? Poor customer service and management! We will be canceling our membership and going to the Avon location

I signed-up as a Silver Sneakers member at the Planet Fitness Strongsville location with Hailey. She did a great job taking care of everything, and she was knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. Truly, Hailey is a great ambassador for the Planet Fitness brand and I'm glad I signed-up here.

Oh, I got in a great workout and I liked the layout of the place, too!
