Great staff who are very welcoming. Great variety of exercise equipment. Always someone available to assist you in an endeavor. Pool is nice. Many classes available. The personal traimers are well trained. Ryan does a great job overseeing many facets of the facility.

I have been going to this YMCA since I was a kid. I worked here for many years as a lifeguard when I was in school as well. They have a variety of equipment to use, a lap pool and therapy pool, gym and track. They have lots of classes to join as well. I also like that they have a place to drop off your kids while you're working out. The staff is always friendly, and I like being able to look online to see what is going on in each area so I can plan my visits.

This YMCA of West Carrollton is trying to scam me out of about $270 from an incident several years ago during During the Covid outbreak. As an international flight attendant, I had to move back to Dallas because I could not travel. I know I told them at the Y that I wouldnβt be coming back.(I joined to take my elderly mother to the silver sneakers program we both had to quit because I had to move to Dallas and we had to put my mother into a care home). They may have told me I needed to sign a form, but I had informed them at the desk so if they did tell me, it was lost in the shuffle of moving and moving my mother, etc., etc. now that Iβm living back in Dayton I wanted to rejoin in the silver sneakers program myself as I am older now and I found that they had turned me over to collections for $270 when I never even attended the Y during that time. They told me I would have to call collections the woman there was very abrupt and rude and also the two people I spoke with at the Y were very abrupt and rude. They are worse than one of these gyms that try to scam you out of money. I was really surprised that a βNON-PROFITβ Organization would pull such a stunt. Please be aware of this YMCA in West Carrollton thank you.

No hospitality , when I signed up the first day, didn't know how to operate their equipment. A short tour would have been nice by staff member. upon initial signing up, I didn't know where the track was located. I've used treadmills since I was in my twenties, but didn't know how to operate theirs. Didn't see any personnel in area to ask
2nd visit I found out track was only stair access. What about some of us who can't do stairs because of limiting disabilities.

Very accommodating gymβ¦unless youβre there to play basketball. Limited slots available as it is, but if literally anything else is going on it takes precedence over basketball. I pay the same membership fees as the pickleballers and volleyball players. If youβre not going to take the volleyball net down because it has to be used later, then donβt post it as open gym time on the schedule. Iβll literally help yβall take it down and set it back up, I go there to get a workout in same as anybody else, but itβs totally unpredictable whether or not I can do that at any given time. I asked them to drop the main hoop from the ceiling in the back gym one day during an open gym slot and the guy at the desk clearly just didnβt want to do it. Takes less than a minute but of course the excuse was βthereβs volleyball over here laterβ. In addition to that they NEVER open the gym up for 5 on 5 runs, always have the partition down to split the court. Never seen anything like it. I like using the gym when itβs available but letβs negotiate a reduced rate for me and other hoopers since weβre clearly second rate members.

Jayna, the members director at this location is so wonderful, kind, and respectful. She is very polite and mindful of different cultures and people. All other staff members are very professional and respectful as well. The swim teachers are amazing here. Ms. Jess (aquatic director)is awesome and very patient with the kids! Ashley is also an amazing swim teacher. The kids absolutely adore her. I have seen amazing progress with my son in a short amount of time.This YMCA has diverse members and staff as well! The locker rooms and facility in general is always so clean. They always greet you with a smile.

My family and I have been members and tried to go to this YMCA for over 20 years. The last 10 years were horrible, rude people everywhere. Management yells a people parking their scooters on the sidewalk (in Ohio scooters 150cc and under are allowed to park on any sidewalk in Ohio anytime, anywhere, as long as you do not block said sidewalk) is finally getting better here. Less rude people nowadays. At least when I visit.

I signed up for a membership online. Iβve been 8 times so far, and this has been my favorite branch! I wanted to say thank you to Sharon! I went for a workout this morning, and she remembered my name and stopped me so I could fill out the rest of my paperwork! Childcare is nice and lovely, but I went to zumba and tia the instructor essentially just talked to everyone for a majority of the class. She didn't dance through the songs, so a lot of us were just standing there waiting for her to show us the moves while she was scrolling through her phone and haphazardly and minimally dancing. I've been to a lot of Zumba classes with the Y and this one is by far the worst. NOT going back to her classes.

My family and I have been members for 2 years. We are a family of 6. We have 3 boys and 1 girl. They really enjoy the sports and activities offered. Our youngest sons love kids watch and the staff is phenomenal. My husband and I are healthier and fit. Its a lifestyle!! We have met some great people some of whom are now friends. Most of the staff are pleasant but this YMCA needs some serious upgrades. The smallest Y i've ever been to. Equipment is absolute bare bones, they dont even have a weighted row. (There are a few dinky row machines at the front of the room full of ellipticals) 90% of the equipment will be occupied with geriatric people furiously switching between 3 machines and wiping down absolutely none of them. (Which- I get it- it's the Y, youre going to see that) For whatever reason they've decided they need 30 treadmills more than weights that aren't so old they're breaking apart.(seriously the 65 pound dumbbells are missing pieces of the weight cover because theyre overused and in need of replacement) There's only three benches for the entire weight room. The "track" is abysmal, so small you can barely call it a track. No sauna and the pool is under equipped. This Y has the potential to be great but it seems like it is just stuck in the past. Two of the childcare workers are amazing but there is one there frequently that seems very overwhelmed and unfortunately maybe no longer up to the task of watching all the littles they have in there. There have been a few times I've dropped off my daughter in child watch and gone into the locker room to change only to see the person I just dropped my child off with walking into the same locker room. I've often wondered who if anyone is staying with the kids during these times. I really hate to even say that because the person is very nice but it just makes me nervous. They also have a habit of almost yelling at the children instead of just redirecting them in a calm tone. I dont want to get that person in trouble in any way but they may need an extra set of hands or just a placement to the front desk instead of the childcare room to help them not be so stressed out. I'll be checking out the springboro Y and hopefully will find a better fit there.

This location's pool is not family friendly anymore. We have been members for some time and also paid for swim lessons for the kids. Our family regularly shares one single lane to practice what they learn in their lessons, and when the swim team or others need the lane we leave immediately. We were turned away from the lap pool because the kids can't all swim all the way down and back. The membership is a considerable expense to be turned away from the pool we are paying for access to. Cancelling membership immediately.

I have been a member of the YMCA for years. This YMCA location is nice. It's very clean and spacious with lots of machines to use. There are also workout classes you may attend for no additional charge. They have childcare, a gymnasium, and two pools also. They do not however have a sauna or hot tub. They don't have a warrior room either.

If you care about lap swimming this is not the place for you. I have put up the the bad hours that they offer for the pool just because it is the closest place to me to swim. Now that it is summer they have taken away some of the lap swim time for kids to swim in the pool. Swim team also takes the pool every single night after 4 PM.

We enjoy the Y. My only complaint is that the swim team takes over the lap pool in the evenings and you can't hardly get a lane between them and swim lessons. I'm good with swim lessons, my kid does them and all the instructors are fantastic.

Today was my first day coming back since they opened back up. Your temperature will be taken before you even enter the building which I thought was great. There are bottles of hand sanitizer available for use prior to going in to the workout room. The social distancing policy is in strict effect which is also a good thing. Every other machine is available for use in the work out room with an approximate distance of 6ft apart per 2 machines. Each available machine has a bottle of germocidal spray for you to use. Several staff members walk throughout the workout room and continously clean the equipment even if you've already cleaned it yourself. I am confident that they are doing their best to keep the place sick free.

PROS:
-The staff is super-friendly, and always helpful.
-The pool is a nice size, kept at a comfortable temperature.
-I seldom use the indoor basketball court, but it seems well-maintained.
CONS:
-Some of the equipment in the weight room could stand to be replaced. Also, it's a little cramped in toward one end of the room.
-Frequent pool closures due to swim meets and practices make it difficult to use the pool during swimming season.

I love the West Carrollton YMCA!!! The staff is friendly, facility is clean and it's a place I feel comfortable. I would highly recommend this Y to anyone!

I love going to the West Carrollton YMCA. So many friendly faces cheering you on to reach your goals. My teenage children also enjoy the classes specifically geared to their age and goals. It's a great place for families to get healthy together.
