The Red Tent Women's Circle with Kristie Leahy and Beth Gatchel was a beautiful experience I will never forget. I live in Cleveland so it was a 1 hour drive but totally worth it. I will plan on making another visit in the near future.

I was happy the music was low so that I could hear the instructor. I enjoyed the detailed instructions. I have been going to yoga on and off for three years, but have felt lost. I am hoping this will help me understand.

Yoga with MJ is so fun! Monday night at 5:30 is always a fun challenge and you can be sure that your instructor is there to support you make advances in your mind connecting with your body to do things you wouldn't have thought to try on your own.

I really like finding areas where I'm struggling more than the rest of the class because it feels nice to identify something I have to work on. MJ is always helpful to make sure this is a practice and not something that hurts to do.

Anytime I've gone to a class, I've noticed that MJ does really well at making each one of the students feel seen and heard. It is nice to have a safe place and last class felt like we were starting our ninja training.

I think you do more than attend a class when you go here, all of the instructors do a great job of bringing your mind present and as a class we make memories together. It is a beautiful place and everyone is always very welcoming.

Great to have found an excellent Power Yoga class and instructor in Marti. This was just the incentive I needed to get back to yoga as part of my triathlon training routine.

I took a class with Jody this morning and the friendliness, openness, and just all around good feeling was echoed in everyone I met there and the space itself.

Jody was a great instructor and she really uplifted my spirits and made the entire experience playful and was nice for everyone to chime in at times with things that made them happy like sunflower seeds for blue jays. πŸ€πŸ™

I really enjoyed the joyful references to snow and the personal touch of the music was nice to get to be introduced to.

Went to yoga class today. The room is beautiful with many windows for natural light, plants and plenty of space. They are very friendly and welcoming. We were treated to some live guitar music by the owner during savasana - just lovely!

My wife Tammy Starkey is a yoga enthusiast and goes to Yoga Central and The Yoga Place 3-4 times a week. She is trying to persuade me to minimize my workouts at Powerhouse Gym and join her yoga workouts. But last night I went to Yoga Central not for a workout but for a music night with The Barefoot Band!

I must say that the owner of Yoga Centrak, Michael Curtis, has assembled a really talented group of musicians. You could tell right away that they were excellent in a jazzy samba groove and I think this is their optimal presentation. I could see them in a sort of George Harrison meets Ravi Shankar meets Jaco Pastorius in a Return To Forever kinda groove. I will admit that I was expecting a sort of namaste new age sort of vibe so my wife and I were pleasantly surprised to hear the band stretch their groove into numbers ranging from Bob Dylan to KISS! My wife is a soldier in the KISS Army so when the electric guitars came out the band was rockin’! I don’t know if the audience which was comprised mostly of senior citizens appreciated it as much as my wife and I did but in a way perhaps it was like when Bob Dylan went electric at Newport… it may have been too much for them. The two female vocalists were competent especially on their version of the B-52s Roam… but I think trying to do Debbie Harry’s Heart of Glass (which even Debbie has trouble doing now) and a somewhat questionable version of the Thin Lizzy classic The Boys Are Back In Town would have been better suited for a male vocalist. But the musicians were definitely on point with the guitar hero instrumental backing. I really hope Mr. Curtis and his eclectic band get a large following in the area. Their musicianship is some of the best I’ve heard locally and they deserve a much larger and all ages audience. And shout out to their sound engineer! The concert was held in the large yoga studio where classes take place but the sound was outstanding. So if the Barefoot Band hits your town their eclectic mix of music is not to be missed! I had a great time!

Happy to finally get to see the yoga central location. Yoga for mental health has been on my list of classes to try for some time. I live over an hour away, but it was so worth the drive.
MJ is such a joyful practitioner and introduced us to a lot of wonderful mental health practices all in one class!

Did an introductory Tai Chi class with Laura at Yoga Central. Laura is wonderful, patient, and knowledgeable. The class size was under 10 people, all friendly and welcoming. All had been practicing for a few years, up to more than 10. While this format isn't what I am looking for at this time, I would recommend Laura and Yoga Central if you are interested in Tai Chi.

Went today 3/18/24. Wife had got me a session for a "SOUND BATH". This was my first time experiencing this treatment. I have always had trouble trying to meditate because my mind races. Nicole really took the time to explain this technique before we started and you could really feel her passion for this. In the end I had relaxed and even caught myself falling asleep a couple of times while enjoying the different sounds and tones she created. Will definitely do this again now that I know what to expect.

Music 3/10 - The ambience was cool, as always. Sound pretty well balanced altho hard to hear the bass, esp. elec. bass. My only complaint was the shift from jazz standards to rock classics. "Hot Blooded" etc are songs we have heard so many times they are a cliche. The fellow playing the Gibson ES 335 did a really sweet job on the jazz material - nice tone, phrasing..just wish he'd stayed with that.

New to yoga, I am glad to be in such great company in both Yoga Place and Yoga Central. These are beautiful and welcoming centers and I feel lucky to gain a better understanding of how to retain and gain strength through yoga. Every staff member that I have met has been extremely knowledgeable and supportive in such a way that I am honored to be in their presence. After just a few months of attending a variety of beginner classes, I’m already feeling stronger and understanding more about how to strengthen myself, elongating the spine before I twist, and breathing to calm my nervous system. With much growth ahead of me, the staff and studios here are a great asset to even newcomers like myself.

My first visit, today for the Barre Class with instructor Pamela Sayre and I can say 5 stars all the way. As a middle-aged man I had sort of been stuck in linear thinking when it comes to working out and did not really understand or see a need to vary this. Since my teen years all of my exercises have been dominated by front to back exercises. Bench pressing, deadlift, squat, pull up, sit up and all sorts of other press and/or pull movements. Even my cardio has always been cycling, walking or rowing which is all front to back movement. With a desk job where I am sitting or sitting and driving I have realized that my lateral strength and agility are pretty weak. So, I welcome the change in thought that the body needs all sorts of movement and challenge. While I am not an elite athlete I do consider myself fairly fit and stronger than the average middle aged guy being able to bench press over 300 pounds and deadlift over 400 pounds I realize those movements do almost nothing for lateral strength and agility. I am extremely weak when it comes to lateral movements. I tore my meniscus in my left knee earlier this year and had surgery in June. Doing physical therapy they gave me a band to put around my ankles to do lateral band walks. The band probably only has around 10-15 pounds of pressure but walking side to side with this band around my ankles and feeling my outer hip muscles burn made me realize some weak lateral areas on my body which probably helped me mess up my knee. So when my wife suggested I try Barre class I was like sure. When I did it, I found myself sweating about 20 minutes in and definitely struggling with some of the movements. Anyway, I highly recommend this, especially for men who are likely to dismiss "group" classes as not being challenging enough. It is very challenging which is great, makes the body stronger. So guys, don't dismiss this, it will challenge you and humble you.

Great facility and great teacher, enjoyed the class. I think I will definitely end up going to more classes and perhaps some Yoga.

My Yoga hOMe! Highly recommend for all seekers of authentic Yoga practice in Northeast Ohio. There is a reason so many area locals have been loyal to this studio for 10 or 20 years, or longer. The Yoga Place & Yoga Central are well known for their inclusive, non-competitive, and uplifting atmosphere. There is a class here for everyone, from chair yoga to moderate to power and vinyasa flow. Not just Yoga! These studios are also cultural centers, providing a space for local artists of every medium and musicians from far and wide to share their gifts. Please come and join our family <3
