My daughter has been training with Doug for approximately 6 months. When she started, she was scared to death of working out. Now, she asks when her workouts are for the week and is eager to go even when she’s tired. The change in her physically and mentally is something I can’t put a price on. Doug has a way of relating each movement to her sport and how it will make her better. I don’t worry about her struggling on the court, because I know she has a place to come fix any issue. I’m grateful for Vertical Limit Fitness and Coach Doug for many reasons but here are my two most important. First, the growth and confidence I’ve seen in my son over the past three years brings joy to my heart. We started when he was 12 and wasn’t even sure how to move his body properly. Over three years later and he’s catching me quickly on how much he can lift. We recently completed a Olympic lifting program and his one rep max totals were only not that far behind me but if you look at it as a lifting weight to body weight ratio, he’s doing more work than I am! I’m so proud of the work he puts in. Secondly, I’m proud of the level of fitness I’ve gained. We recently participated in Murph for Memorial Day. My son and I split the reps, 1 for 1. I told Doug before we started that I wasn’t sure how I would do but that I was going to trust the foundation of fitness his programming has built. That foundation was tested and passed with colors. I’ll turn 50 this year and I’m proud of the fitness that I have and look forward to continuing to build on it. Btw…I’m also still hitting lifting PRs. Who says you have to slow down the older you get!!! Vertical Limit owned by Doug Decker has been a great experience for my then 13 year old and now almost 15 year old son. His growth in speed and strength has been amazing to watch. Doug set a plan appropriate for a young teenager that included core and lower body focus with weights as well as explosive speed and agility work. We’ve been very happy with how he challenged our son to push beyond his limits!! As he begins high school, he knows he’s a year ahead of most teammates!

It’ll be two months of working out at Vertical Limit Fitness on June 20th. In those two months I’ve done things I never thought I would be able to do or even considered. Like deadlifts, bench presses, or clean press. I’m so much stronger physically! I love the group I’m with and the coaches. They motivate and push without making you feel guilty if you need to modify or correction. And that’s all of them not just a specific coach or class time. Everyone is friendly and provides encouragement when partnered up. I’m excited to see where I’m at in 4 months and in the future.

Our entire family LOVES Vertical! I had done group classes in the past and some weight lifting, but I was still hesitant to trying out a new place. I cannot say enough amazing things about Vertical fitness. From the quality of the coaching, to the community that Doug has cultivated. I felt welcomed immediately. You can find a gym anywhere but the people who are at vertical, the way we push each other and support each other’s goals are unlike anywhere I’ve ever gone. This has been the BEST gym I have ever worked out at. The community does it for me, I always look forward to seeing someone new. You can change up the time you go and meet and catch up new friends. Vertical Limit is a great crossfit-style gym that really focuses on you, as an athlete, and the goals you are trying to achieve. The trainers are very knowledgeable in all aspects of functional fitness and can tailor make a game plan for you whether your just beginning, just jumping back in, or an advanced athlete. If your goal is to be the best version of yourself then Vertical Limit Fitness is the place to be. Vertical has two separate class types. Base camp and Vertical X. The beauty of having two class types is that it fits a broader range of people to help achieve their fitness goals. Whether it’s fat loss, muscle building, conditioning, Olympic lifting, strong man, you name it, Doug Decker does a great job of balancing all of those things to make a balanced athlete. Vertical has a solid Rogue Rig for multiple uses, brand new Olympic lifting platforms, concrete trail, large space in back for outdoor exercises, etc. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Vertical. The community in the gym is awesome and everyone is in there with the same goal in mind. Get better today.
