UPDATE YOUR MACHINES! Reminds me of a rusty garage gym, which wouldn't be such a big deal if their prices weren't so high. They have every machine you would need. Never used the sauna but the fact that they have one is a plus. Still, planet fitness is $10 a month and their equipment is much better, something is wrong with that.

I come from the Portland/Beaverton Area and this is the sadist gym, I've been to. Sadly I'll be finally moving gyms after 4 years. Thanks to this small and terrible gym environment. Courthouse is like the “high end gyms” but I was going to a 24 fitness in beaverton that looked exactly like it. Because that's how gyms typically look like now but for a little more a month it's worth joining the courthouse. Hopefully they just close down or move to a nicer location, it looks like the owner could careless it seems. Disappointing for it been the ONLY one here in Salem. They must love spending that money else where. 0 investment to this sorry a** gym

Signed up for 3 free days only and when I got to location was told they didn't accept it for non-locals. Had to pay $20 for day pass to use a rickety cycle with monitor that didn't even work. This is the worst 24 hour facility I have ever seen. Definitely not worth $20. So I drove 15 minutes away and pay $5 to workout at Epic fitness that has much nicer equipment and much cleaner facilities.

I like taking classes, especially spin, yoga and pilates. There are VERY few group classes and most of them are Zumba. This is NOT your gym if you like group fitness apart from Zumba.

The people who work there are very nice though, and this is the only gym open early enough for me. I wish they would change locations or open a new one so they can have adequate equipment and space. I pay too much for what this one offers.

This is by far the worst 24 I've ever been to. Very limited equipment and very small. The entire gym is DIRTY! inches of dust on top of everything hanging on the walls, bathrooms were disgusting. The entire place is very run down and unwelcoming.

The treadmill I used wouldn't go faster than 5.8mph.

The majority of the people using this gym sat on the equipment on their phones and every once and a while would actually use the equipment. I heard the shutter go of on 2 peoples phones as they were taking pictures of the people that were actually working out. I did not feel safe or comfortable at this gym

Its the principal that matters. I will not go back to a 24 for a membership. There are many great less expensive gyms with newer updated equipment, and if you like hitting legs the leg equipment is very bad here. I got charged the annual fee even when I cancelled before my 90 days from signing. I sign my contract on July 17th and cancelled on October 9th this means I cancelled before my 90 days when I showed them all the paperwork they refused to reverse the charges. I shouldn't have been charged the annual fee before the 17th. There are many great less expensive gyms with newer updated equipment, and if you like hitting legs the leg equipment is very bad here.

I enjoy this gym. They offer a pool, sauna and steam room, and the employees always seem eager to help. The ladies locker room is consistently clean, I almost feel like the janitor is in there everytime I am there. I rated a 4 because I think the cleanliness of the whole facility could improve, and some of the machines could use an upgrade. Good gym over all!

This writer contacted the call center to inform them that I had a family emergency so I would not be intown. I wanted to freeze my account #BS482547. The man on the phone was very uncaring and unkind. I have been a loyal customer for over 18 years. I was told that I had to pay for the month of January even though the charge came in on the 15th which is a holiday. I called them on the 17th. In addition, I was sent an email that says I would be charged 10 a month for putting my account on hold( not information he gave me on the phone) and an annual fee. I have never paid an annual fee since I had the account. The guy refused to provide his name or allow me to speak to a supervisor. When I asked for compassion he said I can close my account. When I asked for more information from him he hung up on me. I expected a lot more from 24 hour fitness. The customer service is horrible and I plan on telling all my friend NOT to continue with this gym. So then I called my local 24 hour fitness in Salem, Oregon and I was told I was a loyal customer and due to the circumstances they would love to assist me. She said she would put my account on hold without the 10 monthly fee. Then she (Christina @ Salem, Or 24 hr fitness) tells me she can’t make an adjustment because the account is already on hold. I told her I just got off the phone and they guy was rude and didn’t assist me. I also reminded her that she just said she would assist me and resolve my problem. Please treat your customers with respect and treat them as humans. This is the worst customer service I’ve had in 2018. DO BETTER

Had a really great experience in here today. This gym had all the amenities you'd need at half the cost of other full amenity gyms (pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, classes every day of the week) all inlcuded in your membership at no extra cost. Really great new years specials running for New Years saving you on sign up cost :) I'll be working off my winter weight with a personal trainer and this wonderfull gym-- how about you?

This place is nothing like the other 24 Hour locations. I avoid it whenever possible and would rather drive back up to Portland to go to the other locations. This Salem location doesn't match the standard for 24, so I'm surprised at its condition. I wish they would upgrade it and make it like the other ones, or at least build another location in Salem that matches the other ones. This one is dirty, dark, and outdated. I hope they eventually do something so I can enjoy working out at 24 in Salem and save the drive.

I have been to many locations of 24 hour fitness do aquatic fitness. This location has some serious cleanliness issues that never seem to be addressed.

The floors are supposedly cleaned by an employee that pushes around a mop bucket with filthy water that she puts more and more strong disinfectants in to the point that one is inhaling noxious fumes. She leaves the locker room floors wet during the day which is an accident waiting to happen with all the elderly women at that time. The showers often have the same hair adhered to the walls for several days. The same employee spends a lot of time talking on her cell phone in the women's locker room as do many of the members. Don't they understand that pulling out a cell phone in that setting invades ones privacy? I don't want to feel like they might be taking my photo while undressed...

The pool tiles and deck are never clean. Be sure to never use the moldy looking foam kick boards they have available. People take them into the sauna and steam room to sit their sometimes naked butts on and sweat all over them. It gives new meaning to the "ick" factor when you see them in the pool.

The worst part though is the men that seem to spend hours using only the sauna, steam room and hot tub. They use the on deck rinse off showers to take long showers and sometimes fondling themselves under their shorts in plain view of everyone. One guy even stripped naked for his shower. Some bring all their grooming equipment out to use instead of using the locker room showers.

Since this is the only location in Salem I guess they feel no incentive to improve what should be a nice little pool and gym to belong to.

If you're a mother who's trying to establish a fitness routine and wants to have it ruined on a daily basis this gym is for you! I've been a member for 5 years and would love to give this gym 5 stars. I love working out here and the woman who works with the children in the kids club is wonderful. However, this gym is poorly managed with high turnover. They consistently turn away parents because the kids club is full and they don't have trained staff to add additional staff members to the kids club. Meanwhile, 3 or 4 staff members will be hanging out behind the front desks doing nothing. Are they incapable of cross - training staff to work in the kids club? Or, as a suspect, the management doesn't care if they aren't staffed adequately for this need because they can keep charging parents $30 a month while turning them away constantly. Hey if they have our money already, why not?

Their voicemail and website tell you that the kids club is open till 1, closes till 4, then opens again. Well, that's not the case at all, kids club doesn't open till 4. When asked why the website and VM hasn't updated "we have a message posted in the club" well we dont live here, and wouldn't know that because this isn't our main club. No lack of regard for anyone here, now I have upset kids, who were looking to play, and they don't care the slightest. Worst club I've ever been to.

In the last 4 weeks of road tripping, I have seen quite a few 24 hour fitness locations in WA and OR.

I visited this one 3 times and the experiences were consistently horrible.

All three visits staff would leave the front desk and disappear for long periods of time. No one to greet me or answer my questions. I am surprised they don't have more theft.
The housekeeping seemed non existent too.

My partner purchased a lock and found out it was faulty. Upon returning it, the staff member scoffed at him and told him they don't do returns. After he disagreed with the staff, the reluctantly helped him do an exchange for a working lock.

Some of the other cons, this location had the dirtiest saunas, had a moldy scent in the steam room, the hot tub and pool seemed dingy, the water available for bottle fill up tasted like bleach, the women's room only had 3 showers, their air dryer didn't work unless you press the button 3 times.

The worst part of the whole experience was arriving at 11p expecting to work out, after about 20 minutes the staff made a garbled announcement and disappeared for over 10 minutes. Finally 3-4 staff members walked out from the back laughing and giggling, clearly no one to watch the front desk for over 10 minutes. They advised us the gym closed in 30 minutes. It's a 24 hour fitness, why does it close at midnight?

I hurried to take a shower, a staff member rushed in the back to change into her non work clothing, she laughed while I stood their half naked and said while clapping "you better hurry." This was very condescending not to mention uncomfortable.
She came back to tell me the club was closed about 3 minutes later, tapping her foot. I said "I'm almost there," she replied "ok, good"

When we attempted to walk out at 12:05 staff had us locked in and were standing around joking with each other. The guy said "ahhh, I guess I have to let you out, you will have to wait, it's locked." He seemed annoyed.

We didn't make it out the door and the staff were already driving away, by the time we made it to the car, the employees were gone.

The pros, they had a clean shower area and the group x room seemed fairly new and well lit.

A couple of the staff members there are quite nice people. That's where the good part of this gym ends. I have been harassed over and over again by a new personal trainer there, and in complaining about it, I guess the manager Chris has decided to become a person that is trying to hide something. Once he found out that I made a complaint, he goes to the gym facebook page and disables comments from me. Don't quite understand that other than he does not want corporate to see that his marketing SUCKS!!! I also can not count the times that I have went to the paper towel dispenser so I could clean equipment of someones sweat, only to find that it was empty, so you have to go all the way to the other side of the gym, and if you are lucky, you might find a towel there! Lots of sanitizer, but NEVER any wipes.
Bathrooms are ATROCIOUS and NEVER clean. People have also been stealing things from the locker rooms, as well as breaking into vehicles out in the parking lot, all to be met with "Sorry, not our fault" Which is BULLSHIT! If they can not control the thievery going on in the locker rooms, and you can not trust to even leave your wallet in your truck either, then why in the blue hell would you EVER trust the management here? That's right......YOU SHOULDN'T!! Run, and RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!

Good variety of equipment, affordable membership fees. The gym gets crowded Monday~Thursday evenings. You have to wait for machines. Some of the cardio machines were out of service at times. The cleaniness of gym desires to be better.The showers and restrooms are rarely clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Best times to go to gym to avoid crowds during the day or late nights.

Great staff, they were all pretty nice. My complaint is simple and something I feel like that shouldn't even need to be addressed. Its unsafe: the free weight platform in the back is tilted and the weight rolls freely. I fell twice trying to snatch 185 I thought it was me until I let the bar stay on its own and it rolled, I tried to tell someone about it and go back in 2 weeks later to see that is still not fixed. My second issue is sanitation(and I'm not neat freak) but it is disgusting the class of people that work out there is terrible. I'm all for sweating but at least I wipe mine up, the weights are a mess constantly and I can only understand 1/2 the conversations around the gym the others are in Spanish. Don't even try to lift the dumbbells because you will see 30 people standing in front of the mirror flexing and while this will make you chuckle its annoying and disrespectful to the people that want to work and not admire themselves constantly. I think I was 1 of 10 people there that actually wear sleeves on my shirt.... That's the best description I can give.
