My kids love their ninja and gymnastics classes at this facility. The waiting lists for popular classes can take a while to get through. There is a decent parent viewing area on the second/mezzanine level, but the parent viewing areas closer to classes is some seriously uncomfortable bleachers. The ninja course was recently updated and it's a blast, but it's best for kids that are at least 8 - otherwise they are too physically small to handle the obstacles. The customer service is pretty great, for such a busy place. It's nice that they have some shows and toys available for kids to engage with while they are waiting for a sibling's class to end. Snacks aren't bad either!

Great option for littles to get their energy out. overall pretty clean, few places in the play structure (that you can not get to) have dirt, dust, and old sock build up. Decent amount of food options, and even alcohol to put up with all the crazy kids running around, can get pretty warm inside if they don’t have the 20’ helicopter blade fan going. Staff was all nice no matter where you went.

I had really high hopes for the little wigglers class but it was a big disappointment.. My daughter is 2yrs old and has been watching gymnastics videos so we were excited to try a beginner class. We get there 5min early, I few family’s were there already. We played on the mats waiting to hear a big introduction but nothing. She just started giving instructions, no enthusiasm at all! And the instructions were over her skill level, as if she should have already known how to do it. Turns out the instructor never works with the smaller kids, she was filling in for someone. She was young and honestly didn’t have a good aditude. It was Saturday so I don’t think she wanted to be at work, let alone deal with toddlers. My daughter had melt down after melt down and we had no hands on help with the moves. I know the class is hands on for parents but to have simple instructions and no help, we could easily stay home and learn off of YouTube. But this class was also to help my daughter get socialized. They hyped up the classes like they get full fast but there was only 2 kids in this class. I would stick to music together and Kroc swim classes in Salem, we’ve had great experiences at both!
I called to cancel my future classes and they didn’t even ask why, so it must happen often. When we went to the front desk to check in earlier, the customer service was lacking. She was also holding a baby, which I wasn’t expecting. Not sure how well run the place is.
Plus there’s a crazy $50 sign on fee for the year, so I wasted so much money on one terrible class! Overall not what I expected! It was a very disappointing class and a lot of tears from both me and my little girl. Not worth the stress and money.

Subtle racism there with the workers. The close marking of black kids…when white kids misbehave, like hurt black kids the workers won’t step in but are quick to intervene if a white kid is being treated poorly.

It was very crowded and super loud. But it was full of kids, lol. Not much food available. Fryers were down, and they were out of a lot of food items. There is a full bar. So, if you wanted to be an irresponsible parent, you could drink it up.
Parking is tight, and the parking lot is small.
Staff was friendly.
It's not the cleanest, but not grossly dirty either.
The way the play structure is set up, its hard to see your kid when they are on the back side. 😞

Rude!!! I’ve been coming here for two years and every month the staff in the play area and concessions seem to be more rude each time. Today, I asked for a cup of ice to use for the water and I was treated as if I was stealing their credit card information. Ridiculous. The $7 fries for my kid was so small and not worth it at all.

Ehhhh. Food prices are way too high. They don’t offer their entire menu during Spring break (if your kitchen crew is opposed to hard work then you need a new crew). I wanted to order nachos but they had run out of ground beef (why is it on your menu if you could run out? Is someone heading to the store to buy more to accommodate your guests?)

A really old lady with white hair was taking my order and threw a fit when I expressed frustration that they were out of ground beef and not offering the standard menu. She said “I don’t have to be talked to that way!” And waddled off to beg for a manager to protect her.

Nope. Part of customer service is fielding customer complaints. If you can’t handle your job then stay home 🤷‍♂️

Awesome place to take your kids. Playground is cleaned regularly, they have a small arcade, plus mini golf. They also have food and a full bar for those who like to indulge. Corn hole and billiards. Fun for the kids and fun for the adults. For those with extra young ones there is a small toddler area that is very enclosed and has a decent amount of space and things for them to do. Price is extremely cheap compared to a lot of other indoor playgrounds and the quality is great for what you pay. Cannot recommend this place enough especially in this area!!

Great place for kids to burn off energy! All staff was friendly & helpful. Play area & seating area was clean. However, the restroom was not very clean. I would recommend putting small trashcans in the restroom stalls to dispose of feminine products as there were used feminine products just thrown on stall floors. Parking is limited. Overall, this was a fun place & we will be back again!

Very disappointed in the choice of staff of the play equipment. Not only did I recieve dirty looks from staff but then accused my daughter of being disrespectful and rolling her eyes when we didn't see them move from the front of the play area until after the fact. When I pulled my daughter aside she swore she never rolled her eyes at the staff. She then was in tears because she felt picked on. For almost $40 for 2 kids, to see staff laying on the ground, looking at adults up and down with a disgusted look on their faces and never see them actually walk around or speak to the kids is beyond frustrating. Will not be coming back again or recommending to anyone.

I LOVE this place! The ladies that work here are so nice. There's like one man walking around the gym, maybe a coach, maybe the owner I have no idea he's never introduced himself but everyone else is super cool.

Tuition isn't bad and class prices are good. My daughter missed a week and a day because of normal closures they do and I called to ask about it and the woman explained everything and then still helped us. The coaches are so great, my daughter is 3 so her class is wild but they handle everything so well and she's learning social skills and following directions from other adults PLUS she loves it! All the climbing and tumbling and bars. Not only do they offer gymnastics and preschool but they have a whole adventure park. We've been coming here several months and literally I have no complaints.

This review is for the adventure park only.

I was super disappointed in our experience here. We live 45 minutes away and wanted to do a big day outing for the summer with another family. I called ahead to get information because the website didn’t include pricing. When we did arrive, the pricing I was told was wrong, including needing to pay weekend rates even though it was Friday (by definition a weekday). Even my 1 year old had to pay full admission because she could walk. (About $75 total for my 4 children). Each child has to pay a $5 registration fee even if you’re only planning to come once.

The check in process was very long including needing to make profiles for each child. It was difficult for all the kids in the lobby to wait - they were excited to go in. I wish I got that information before I arrived so I could fill out things ahead of time.

We were initially interested in checking out the facility because I have a child interested in gymnastics. I was hoping to be able to watch some gymnastics while we played but they are separate buildings just fyi if that’s something you were considering.

The play area itself was okay. Things were pretty clean. Definitely a lot of duct taped toys but it felt safe for everyone. I appreciated having an area for my toddler to play safely.

I was thinking there would be more to do for the price. Even though the website said it was included, mini golf was an extra fee. Also the arcade games were very distracting to the kids and an extra fee.

No outside food is allowed so we had to eat in our car which was a big pain. You can order food inside but there weren’t any options appropriate for our diet.

One reason we were coming here was to escape the summer heat but it slowly got hotter and hotter as the day went on. It didn’t feel air conditioned at all. We eventually had to leave earlier than we wanted because everyone was so hot and their cheeks were bright red. The lobby was air conditioned and felt fine, but not the play room.

Two things that were kinda strange to me but some may enjoy - there was a bar inside. Just kind of a weird vibe for me at a kids place. The alcohol was on display. Other thing is there are close to a dozen employees that walk around the play area. I’m not really sure what their job was?? It felt awkward to me but again, maybe some parents would like that.

Overall, I feel upset that I drove that far and hyped it up to my kids (we watched the website videos) and went through a long check in process because I felt totally obligated to pay and stay. If I had all the information beforehand, I would definitely not have come. It’s frustrating that I called ahead and was given wrong information and embarrassing because I invited a friend and it was way more expensive than I quoted to her and she was upset most of the time. It was a hard day!

My 3 year old doesn't have any experience in a classroom setting or in a gym. This was her first time taking the spinners class and she did great. Both following directions and trying everything for the first time, but Coach Michelle should not be coaching toddlers. She grabbed my daughter's arm so tight my daughter was visibly afraid and couldn't get out of her grip. When I voiced my concern from the viewing area all the other parents agreed she is too hard on the toddlers. I'm all for teaching discipline in a competitive setting but this is a first timer who is THREE. We'll take our money and go to Salem Gymnastics Center instead..
Sam was great with my 5 year old who has a fear of heights. But I need a gym who pays attention to the way their coaches coach. All of them. Especially with the little ones.

Update for 2023: AE Adventure Park is the best place in Salem to take your kids. The ceilings are high, the food is fine, the cost is reasonable, and the kids love it. 10/10 for kid birthdays and indoor play places.

We have generally loved AE and recommended it to many friends. The instructors care (shout put to Coach Wendy) and the cost is reasonable. Some downsides are the limitations on class schedules, the overcrowding during certain hours (leading to it being hot & stinky, and a little chaotic), and lack of sufficient parking. They sometimes come off as disorganized (we were recently told to come in for a make-up on a day they were closed for a meet), but we have never had any real grievance. My sons have both benefitted from this program from a very young age, both physically in learning to understand and trust their bodies, but also mentally and socially in how to follow directions, take turns, and adhere to rules.

I have no way of knowing if the ninja warrior class is any good because there is no viewing area for parents/caretakers. There really is no space where you could put some chairs for viewing?

If there isn’t on the floor, why not install a small loft-like platform and add some chairs? There is one in the gymnastics area (the white one that’s not enclosed). That would be extremely helpful and would only take a few thousand to build.

It’s a great spot for parents with kids in gymnastics, but we’d like to watch our little guy build his ninja skills rather than a bunch of tween girls doing flips.

Another issue has to do with parking and supervision. I get that there is limited parking and spaces fill quickly. One has to work with what was there so can’t fault the gym for that. What that means, though is that one must arrive substantially early and this means your kid waits at least 15 minutes for class to start. I found it a bit odd that there were no adults in the class even 5 minutes before class time. I was told that I needed to go to the parental wait area so did. And my little guy ended up fine. Just would feel better if there was an adult staff member there a bit before the actual class begins.

I liked this place at first, decent playground and plenty of interaction for my little one. I recently tried to purchase food but the “system was down”. They ran my card anyway in hopes it would work.
Long story short, they didn’t think the charge went through due to the system being down, so naturally I didn’t receive the food order which isn’t the issue.

I checked later that evening and saw the charge hit my account. I’ve been fighting with these people for weeks over this, all for them to say that they can’t do anything because the charge wasn’t showing up on there end 🤦🏻‍♂️
I called my bank and they were happy to work with me to file a dispute.

Honestly the customer service is trash, but at least they have a pretty sweet indoor playground!

This place is poorly organized I had three of my kids going, two girls one boy. The first day that my kids went there it was so hard for them to figure out where to go they were roaming around the whole gymnasium trying to figure out what class they belong to they do not allow parents to watch they get new coaches every time there is no consistency. But that was the least of my problems in my sons class he was being bullied by this one kid and the coach had promised me that he was gonna talk to someone about it and to the parents time keeps going by and my son says that this kid is still messing with him till one time my son came out crying saying that he doesn’t want to go back anymore because no one helps him with this kid that keeps bullying him. I think this place needs to be more organized and there should be more consistency they shouldn’t be switching out coaches all the time and they should really fix their bullying situation

We tried out the wigglers class (they offer a free trial of one class). The space is set up with activities for the kids to rotate through and build familiarity with elements and movements. The equipment shows signs of wear, but is safe. As a first-time attendee, we were thrown into the rotations without a lot of instructions. Mostly we watched what the other parent+child pairs were doing and tried to follow along. I have twins and it was a bit too chaotic to wrangle them and figure out what was going on. The kids did love it (they kept saying "more class" as we walked back to the car), so I'm still trying to decide whether or not we will enroll in regular classes.

We recently found this gym and are so happy we did! They have such a nice facility! All of the equipment is neat and clean and their business front space is so inviting and cozy. We are taking our two year old daughter here for a parent tot gymnastics class. There are so many options for learning and playing during this class and all the elements are age specific. Michelle does a great job keeping the kiddos on track and we love the stamps at the end of class. The registration process was super easy and prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend this gym for classes.

I am so glad we found this place! My two boys had a blast. I feel good enough to let my 3 year old roam around by himself for a little while since it seems super safe and the staff are on top of everything. There is a cute baby/toddler area where I could watch my 2 year old from the dining area. I like that they dedicate 30 minutes or so to sanitize the place in between groups coming in and out. The staff made sure there was no rough housing and that older kids kept their masks on. The owner’s two kids were there as well and they were very kind, showing us around and making my sons feel welcomed. Overall we had fun, and we plan on coming back!

Hands down, best in door playground in Salem, Oregon. Comfortable seating table areas with good space. They have a lovely mini restaurant inside! Professional staffing who comply with hourly sanitizing process during this pandemic. And best of all the children enjoy every minute playing.

Loved everything there except the giant fan. I was freezing but the kiddos loved it to help cool down.

Very Fun for the kids. Things for grownups to play also while we wait. My advice is to go early as you can; it can become a bit warm inside with all those bodies running around. The food is good. Food favorite is the stuffed Philly mushroom. By far this is the best place in town for my kids. They shutdown and sanatized everything throughout the day. it takes 30 min or so. You buy the traction socks when you pay to go in.

Our son goes here for a specialized gymnastics class. The coaches are kind and patient with him. Always encouraging him to try new things and celebrating each new skill and success. We are so happy Athletic Edge offers such a great class with wonderful staff.

My daughter loves it here and that’s all that matters, but the one thing they should do is put up a sign. Informing parents if they sit front row watch your child instead of being on a laptop/phone, back against the window, or even sleeping. Other parents who want to watch their child have to stand in the back while these parents are not even paying attention.

The place is not bad. But many classes have coaches that seem overwhlemed with the amount of students they have. Also the temperatures get excessive in the gym. Many of the children have a difficult time practicing because of it. They even cancel classes because the heat gets so bad there.
