Collective Wellness and all of the trainers there are wonderful! I’ve been doing small group training for about 9 months now, and it’s the longest I’ve ever stuck with a consistent fitness program. After initially convincing myself to try Collective Wellness for a couple weeks, I’ve since been going 2-3 times per week for the last year. I love being part of the CW fam because it’s more than just a gym: it’s personalized fitness in an approachable, welcoming environment at a price that rivals generic group fitness classes. Whether you already have specific objectives coming into it or need help setting some initial fitness goals (like I did), Lexie and the team will build you a personal plan. Then they’ll coach you through every session so that you’re always improving and building on a strong foundation of form and technique that helps you make progress more quickly and avoid injury. The CW community makes working out fun and accessible in a way that I’ve never felt anywhere else. Give it a try!

I've been training with Coach Damian for about six months, and it is now one of the highlights of my week! He blends a healthy respect for my goals with gentle nudges toward achievements I regularly think are too ambitious but are, happily, regularly doable thanks to my sessions with him. Damian is super kind, remembers I hate to do hard exercises alone so always does them with me, and is so patient with my hectic schedule. Plus, he and his wonderful co-owner, Lexie (who is also an excellent trainer), keep Collective Wellness tidy and air-conditioned - two often-overlooked but crucial aspects of any gym, IMHO. I wholeheartedly recommend Damian and the Collective Wellness crew!

I never imagined I’d be doing Olympic weightlifting at 55, but here I am, a few years in with Coach Damian. Damian has completely changed my perspective on fitness. I was initially intimidated, thinking Oly was for younger athletes but Damian shattered those misconceptions.
What I appreciate most is Damian’s personalized approach. He took the time to understand my fitness level, any past injuries and my goals. He didn’t just throw me into complex lifts; he started with the fundamentals, breaking down the movements into manageable steps.
Damian isn’t just a coach; he is a joy and great fun to work with! He motivates me by celebrating small victories, whether it’s a slight improvement in form or a PR. He’s helped me build strength, confidence and a sense of accomplishment I never thought possible. I’m excited to see how much further I can go! I’ve intentionally excercised on and off for the last 12 years. More off than on since covid. Barre,spin,yoga and cross fit for one day. Oof that was not for me.
I’m not someone who grew up doing sports and I don’t seek out excersise for fun. More of an indoor girl.
Since covid it’s been hard to get back into the groove of any regular movement and because of my age I kept hearing/reading about how beneficial strength training is for peri/menopausal woman. I asked around and got referred to Lexie. I’ve been training with her 3x’s a week since August 2023.
1. Lexie is extremely knowledgeable and explains things so well that I know I’m also learning and not just walking through the motions.
2. I love the accountability!
3. Lexie has taken the dread out of working out for me. She’s delightful, funny and serious about her work.
I love it so much that now my 15 yr old daughter trains with me 2xs a week. It’s been a game changer on many levels!

I’ve been taking small group classes with Lexi for almost a year and a half now. Eased in with once per week and finally pushed to twice per week a few months ago. I feel stronger and stronger with every class, and often think back to how far I’ve come with her as my trainer. I have more confidence in myself to try new things in her classes. After all, if she thinks I can do it, I should probably think I can do it! She is encouraging and also patient, and the small group size is a great atmosphere where she is able to give each person individualized attention. Lexie Frenz was my trainer for several years when I lived in Portland. She excelled in helping me breakthrough my inertia, she made working out fun and I looked forward to meeting my goals. Lexi is fantastic! She brings a wonderful, vibrant energy to every session. We have been working together for about a year and I am in the best shape I've been in the last 10 years! Moreover, Collective Wellness is a place for people of all sorts, shapes, and sizes (I have been described as many things, but a gym rat is NOT one of them). Lexi works with you to get to know your body and your desired areas of improvement, then puts great care into developing a workout plan that's right for you. She helped me with basics like improving my muscle mass and core strength, but also gave me targeted exercises to "retrain" my problem areas, helping reduce pain in my back and shoulders, and providing increased stability in my knees and ankles. The space is also great. Located in the heart of SE Portland, it's easy to get to and the training area has everything you need: cycle, rower, bench, free weights, bands. The works! Plenty of room for solo sessions and comfortably fits her small groups as well. Most importantly, Lexi is all about POSITIVITY. She is always pushing me to improve with kindness and encouragement, and genuinely cares about all of her clients. If you're like me and could use a little motivation to get your body right, Collective Wellness and Lexi are the right fit for you!

I have been working with Lexie for about 5 years now. She is an excellent and very knowledgeable trainer. I have arthritis and she has developed workouts for me to accommodate my limitations and also help strengthen surrounding muscle groups to take the strain off my joints.
I don’t like to exercise but I look forward to my weekly sessions with Lexie because she makes them fun and informative. I’ve learned so much from Lexie about how my body, muscles and skeleton work together.
My body will unconsciously adjust to make each exercise easier and Lexie ALWAYS sees that I’ve strayed from proper form and gently bring me back to the correct movement. Other trainers I’ve worked with just didn’t pay as much attention to my movements. She makes sure I get the most out of my sessions.
Lexie really cares about her clients lives, health and physical goals. You couldn’t ask for a better trainer. I highly recommend Lexie.

I’ve been working with Lexie for more than 5 years now and I love working with her for a multitude of reasons. I first started working with her because I like to lift heavy and she helps me feel like a BOSS. But I kept working with her because she does so much more than just create an effective program.

Lexie helped me be brave in the gym! Not only are the one-on-one sessions solid workouts, she also gives you little bits of knowledge along the way so you learn and grow as well. Her online checkins and workouts have been critical in both my physical and mental health, and I wouldn’t have been able to start (or progress) my fitness journey without her. 10/10 recommend!
