I'm not a fan of the new layout for the pool/hot tub/sauna/steam room area. It looks so small. I like the day use lockers they have here. You don't need to bring a lock. The showers have ok pressure and the stalls are decent sized.

I've enjoyed the quiet, respectful atmosphere this location provides. The shower are (usually) fairly clean, and all the machines work! Not to mention the classes they provide are generally dynamic and friendly to various level of physical capability. Most importantly though, the staff is incredible. Huge shoutout to Payton who saved me a Halloween sticker this year! She was afraid I wouldn't get one JUST because I mentioned ive missed out on some of the other seasonal merch. So she made sure to put one aside for me! I should also mention that Lee is that absolute best. That man is THE LIFE of the party. I would happily recommend this gym to anyone.

I giving one star ONLY because they really need to do something about reoccurring guest that ONLY come to sit. My daughter does Jiu-jitsu and they have an awesome Jiu-jitsu class. I at times babysit my friends kids. Each time I have a kid 6yrs and below I have to pay $8 better than what it use to be which was $15 but still it is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS to have to pay for the kids I babysit to sit with me while my daughter practice Jiu-jitsu. By the way if this review was for Jiu-jitsu it would be 5 stars but I'm only commenting about their guess payment.

I got an email saying my account is past due—even though I was on automatic payments. They still charged me $90 for February and tacked on a $20 late fee.

They do offer alot within their facility.

Place is a joke. Called to have my membership cancelled last month which has two people on it linked. They canceled mine which was the account holder, but left the other person on there. They charged my account for this month for the other person on my account. I called and asked to have that refunded as that's obviously not what I intended and I was refused due to "company policy" because apparently I am suppose to state everyones names that are supposed to be cancelled regardless of being the account holder. Didn't think id have to do that when it's only my card on the account and no one else's and I'm also the account holder. This place cares more about upping your membership fee to pay for $50000+ keycard scanners than they do about you

This review is based on how I use the facility, not what it offers. I primarily lift weights and do some cardio. The primary weight room is rather small but is sufficiently equipped and reasonably maintained. Some equipment is a little old while some is newer. If a machine breaks, it is fixed very quickly. There is another training room that has a lot of space and equipment in it that will be shut down if even one person is working with a personal trainer - this is completely lame. I do not take any classes or use the pool, sauna, or racquetball/handball courts. The indoor track is nice to have if you don't like treadmills or running outside in the elements.

Update Nov 2024 - the value of this location continues to decrease. They continue to take space away that was once accessible to members in exchange for lining their pockets with their extremely overpriced membership. The auxiliary weight room is now almost exclusively used/closed for training and now there's even less space because courthouse has allowed a p.t. business to set up shop in one corner to go along with the jujitsu business that occupies half the room (this used to be a basketball court). Some of the most commonly used weight room machines have torn pads that aren't being replaced, and cable machine attachments are old with many of them having torn webbing making them unsafe or the grips have torn off or the knurling is gone. Many dumbbells are loose with the caps torn or worn off so you can't easily tell the weight. The flooring is old and stained, and they hardly keep the temps in the weight room comfortable. I plan to terminate my membership shortly.

Traditionally I have been thrilled to come to the courthouse for all of the amenities and convenient locations, but tonight I was disgusted by the poor treatment by the staff.

When I walked in the door the by the door barely glanced up from his phone to say “we close in 30” not a “welcome in” or the traditional “have a good workout” that I always receive from the rest of the wonderful courthouse employees.

Now the part that made me the most angry is when I was in the middle of my set on the bench press(without a spotter) and the same miserable employee turned off the lights without even a warning! And not to mention this Courthouse wasn’t closing for another 10 minutes. This could have resulted in serious injury!

I am appalled by the terrible customer service this evening!

We travel extensively and pay for short term memberships when local gyms allow us to do so. We are so thankful that Courthouse allowed us to purchase a 2 week membership. The sign up process was quick, easy, friendly, and straight forward.

We took classes and used the cardio and free weight areas at 3 Courthouse locations and absolutely LOVED every minute. All locations were all very clean, had great equipment, and excellent classes.

Without fail, all staff members and instructors were exceptionally helpful and friendly.

Between the two of us, we took 15+ classes and every single class instructor introduced themselves, asked if we were new to Courthouse, welcomed us warmly, and encouraged us to let them know if we had any questions. We were truly stunned at how observant and welcoming they all were.

We can't recommend Courthouse highly enough and only wish that it was this easy to find such great gyms everywhere in our travels.

The corporate that was very disrespectful to us before, pulled rules out of nowhere and limited our premium membership to two towels a visit where on the contract it says nothing about that. The employees target the group of people we go with and we are kicked out at 9 because we are under eighteen even when we pay the same price as a eighteen year old.

The club is very unwelcoming towards people. They kick out people under the age of 18 at 9pm when they pay the same amount as everyone else there. If you’re gonna kick kids out at a certain time the price for their membership should be lowered since they get less time to use the club. I go to school and work during the day and I can only go to the gym after 9 but I can’t because they won’t let me. They even work their employees who are under the age of 18 past 9 but their employees can’t come on their free time to workout past 9. Doesn’t make any sense.

You pay a premium price to be a member but you are limited access to standard equipment. Sad day when you have to start bringing your own equipment to the gym. Constantly paying more for less.

I understand everyone has bad days and staff aren't always gonna be happy to be at work trust me I totally understand that. But im sorry if you hate working with the public so much to the point where you're attitudinal constantly over and over with your paying members than maybe it's time to get a new job. These staff members here are constantly rude and have such a stuck up, unprofessional attitude it's unreal. Like it's unbelievable. A huge reason why so many people never make it to the gym is because they feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed. And these staff are no help when it comes to the stigma that gym people are rude and degrading. They all act like they're in a high-school bullies group. It's very childish and unbelievably unprofessional and they need to grow up. There's always a guy and girl flirting and ignoring members when they're behind the counter. And god forbid you have to ask them a question. They'll just answer it with a huge sigh and attitude and roll their eyes. I am leaving this gym and can't justify paying this high of a monthly fee to be treated so poorly. And this facility could use a deep clean as well. The carpets smell so bad and there's so many stains everywhere.

Megan P’s classes on Monday and Wednesday at 6 pm are absolutely amazing. She is the best instructor I’ve had for active. The class is small but over time i don’t see how it can’t grow with the courthouses help! Love the morning Synergy class. You don't even realize how hard you are working till you can't walk the next day. Marie is a wizard and you can't convince me otherwise.

The remodel is great but I have one tinsey complaint. The shower area is not well designed. The curtains are way too small and they don't cover the whole opening so ppl can totally just see you showering which isn't awesome. They also don't have hooks next to the showers they are on the back wall. So you have to run naked to get your towel unless you get one of the two showers on the back wall.

Oh and the jets in the hot tub were out of order.

Otherwise the facility and upgrades are great. Will be back.

I've attended MANY yoga classes. Was even in Dharamshala (home of the Dalai Lama) on India'a 'National Yoga Day' where two days prior I was 10' away from his holiness himself. Nothing to do with yoga yet still a magical experience. The yoga-ing in that part of the world...less magical than Leslie's Thursday night yoga classes at the River Rd Courthouse in Salem. If her solid musical tastes were not enough to facilitate a pleasant Hatha experience, her knowledge of Yogic philosophy, comical quips, pleasant demeanor, and consistently challenging yet therapeutic (and with enough variety in technique to aid even beginners) keep me coming back week after week.

This company does not value the loyalty of their customers. We have been going to this gym for quite some time and continued to pay our monthly fees during the COVID epidemic, despite not being able to use the gym. We wanted to support our local business and help our community the best we could during these hard times. We ended up moving out of the state so I called and let them know that we have relocated to a different state and need to cancel our membership. The rep in accounting was quite rude and told me that they will be charging some sort of fee for canceling, even though we were not in a contract. I asked her if she could wave the fee since we were loyal customers and continued paying our gym bill during COVID, despite the extended period of time that we were unable to use the gym and she rudely stated that rules are rules and ahe won't be able to wave the fee. If we would have known how greedy and inconsiderate this company is towards their loyal customers, we would have taken our business elsewhere. I highly recommend finding a gym that will show equal respect and consideration to their customers. This gym is definitely not the place. I hope that corporate reads this and makes some changes to their so called "policy".

This gym was everything me and my boyfriend were looking for. We did the $20 trial month to make sure it was worth it. Sadly, once our month was up they had changed their membership plans and removed the $40 leaving only a $62 option which is way out of our price range (there is also an additional $50 starting fee). In addition to all of this, one of the membership staff offered a special deal for my boyfriend and later when he returned to set it up the staff member “changed their mind”. I’m very disappointed that this gym removed their affordable option and then lied about working on something more reasonable. Overall, they lost 2 customers due to their unreasonable prices.

The facility has a lot to offer, but it also seems to be missing some things that I thought were standard in a gym, like a hyperextention bench. The pool could be cleaner, too. There's always seems to be grime on the bottom of the pool in the lanes closest to the walls.

I've only taken one yoga class here, but it was a bit confusing in terms of flow, so I wouldn't make this place my first choice for yoga. Heidi seems to direct you to inhale and exhale at odd intervals, and it really messes up my practice. I haven't attended any other classes, so I can't really say anything one way or another about them.

Finally, their hours are a bit annoying on Fridays. I have a job with standard office hours, and closing at 8pm is a bit early if I want to get some swimming done.

The club is decent. I joined and added classes to my membership and was told that I could cancel that extra service anytime.
