Went to the gym, the temp one was pretty bad, when they added new equipment, it was sticky and ripped and dirty/rusty. Almost has to get a tetanus shot a few times due to it. If a class action gets filed, sign me up! They allowed many minors in and lied about their age on accounts and I assume insurance records too just so they could get more money. I was 14 or 15 when I signed up, they put my age as 20 something. If anyone can prove these are on the insurance records, please bust them for anything, including insurance fraud if possible.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
I was a member here for over 2 years. I actually really enjoy the gym itself. the trainers were good. and the general manager Jesse was a good guy. But the corporate culture does not care about you and acts like a shady subscription service.
They will sneak in charges or allow things to persist even after you cancel them and continue to charge you. Then it’s your fault and rather then simply make good on it to try to keep you as a customer, they will say they can’t fix the issue and be fine with you leaving. you will feel like just another number.
I happily did tribe for a year. I knew I was going away for most the winter so I had my wife cancel it for me. they said it had to
be in person and that a spouse can do this. She cancels and apparently a new employee makes a mistake and just freezes it for one month. Funny enough, they still charge me for that month! But what’s worse is since I think I’ve done what I needed I don’t realize I’ve been continued to be charge for another 3 months. 200 dollars later, I realize my membership is way over charging me. no worries right? they can see I haven’t signed in for over 3 months. with any company, I’m sure it will be as easy as pointing out the mistake and they’ll value having good customer service and just reimburse me for the mistake that is obviously not on my end. i mean, it’s only 200 bucks, which is nothing for a company right? especially when they will make more each year by keeping me as a happy customer. wrong. they first tell me to email them the full situation and I do and they tell me they won’t be able to make it right. then I call corporate and get the run around with several phone calls. then im told corporate can’t handle things in Portland and I have to talk to a local manager. then I go back to them and in the end am basically told to go screw myself. apparently the issue is someone at the very top, or a soulless corporate owner who is just this petty. I’ve heard similar issues have happened several other times.
this is so beyond petty. I’ve never been so frustrated with a gym or any company for that matter. 200 dollars is noticeable for me, but it’s not just that. it’s more that the gym made a mistake and then decided to go with. a choice that feels like scamming me instead of just keeping a customer happy. And that they even noticed (multiple managers) that I was charged for an unused service, and just gave me the bs that there is nothing anyone can do about it.
I keep getting told someone will call me or email me and make this right for weeks now. no one does. I didnt like that they never fix their sauans and take forever to get to down equipment but I can deal with that. however I will warn people who already go there and others to avoid this place until they show any effort to make this right.

Update January 2025: Attached is a picture for everyone to see on the update. I just have no words. It takes a lot of strength to go to the gym consistently, and once you develop that routine. It's not as hard, but that routine is broken unless I was to drive 15 minutes to Muv nearest gym.

Update May 2024: The gym is still not open, and not opening in the near future 3-4 months is what the last email said but I've been going here for 2 years and tired of hearing the promises. I am dropping to 1 star: the gym is not open, another summer without AC! And another "3-4" month in a packed gym. This is crazy. I feel like this is pure scam how they feed members with "coming soon."
P.S. WiFi is basically unusable. I can barely watch anything on YouTube when on a bicycle.

Dropping to 2 stars. The gym is packed, especially in the evenings. The new building is delayed till summer, no notice about that. They plan to expand the small gym in a month. I'm really disappointed that I have to deal with the crowded gym and continue to work around my schedule since the gym is closed at 8 pm all the way till summer. Basically, this small gym could go all the way till September. When I signed up, i was told late January or early February.

I'm not entirely sure how some of those people below give 5 stars when the smaller version just opened on Friday of August 26th, 2022. I am giving 4 stars because it's small, and when enough people come in, it gets crowded very fast. The other reason is that there are no leg bench presses. Yes, some of us care about working out legs, not just upper body. The final reason is that some tools are still not turned on.

It has been over a year and still nothing at this location! I was promised when I joined the mall 205 location that it was right around the corner. The 205 location has the worst maintenance I have ever seen at any gym! The pool rarely works. The hot tub has only worked for 2 weeks and 7 months. The sauna has never worked since I've been there. Please do not join as they will keep your money. This is by far the worst maintenance of any buildings I have ever seen in my 62 years. I am a HVAC technician electrician. I've offered my services for free. Thank you. Just to keep the equipment running but they won't even do that.

Was a happy member in Portland/Hillsboro for years. We moved and I cancelled my membership over a year ago. Despite several in person visits and assurances that the membership was closed they continue to charge me every month. I’ve consistently been told it’s handled only to see the withdrawal on the next month’s statement. Normally I’d have no problem referring someone there but their inability to close my account and refund my money has changed that. Solid gym but terrible business.

I had deleted my original review because I figured I should give them the benefit of the doubt. I came into the office with my daughter 2 and a half years ago. We sat in the lobby and waited to talk to reps about a membership. When someone was open they skipped right by us and started talking to someone else. I left and I’m glad it worked out the way it did because I would have probably signed up that day. It’s been over 2 YEARS and they’re STILL not open. Sad, and disappointing.

This gym only has a fraction of the equipment it should have and was supposed to open up the permanent gym in the old Safeway over 2 years ago. There is no work being done to finish the gym and in fact they are being sued! (Google it) I do not recommend this gym and they won’t tell you the truth about what is actually going on and still try to get you to sign up with the promise of the main gym opening soon. I will say that if all you want is boot camp classes, the lady that leads as them is awesome, but beyond that, they don’t offer much.

Everything about this place is a scam. My husband and I joined in October of 2022, being told they would be open in the sorting of 2023. That never happened. And since then it still hasn't happened. Messages go unanswered. Can't cancel your membership because no one is in the office that "can do that today". I have had a membership for over 2 years with the promise that the Troutdale location would have a new gym built that winter 2022. The date had kept getting pushed back. I wanted everyone to know the facts. The construction company just had to put a lien on the gym that is 60% completed due to MUV not paying them for the work that they have done. I am not sure who owns the MUV in that location and has been scamming all of us. Using advertisements of layouts, grand opening dates , that have change throughout the last 2 years, even the website using A.I. for touring the troutdale location as if the gym has been completed. Offering childcare, swimming all the amenities I paid for and haven’t had. My point is MUV members have the right to be informed about the lien on the Gym construction .

I have been waiting for over 2 years for the promised new infrastructure in Troutdale. In the meantime, I was forced to get a membership at their Southeast Portland facility and paid for a full year. I was assured that if the new gym wasn’t ready by January 2024, I would receive a full refund. This promise was never fulfilled.

When I last spoke with them about the issue, instead of addressing my concerns, they tried to sell me another membership. Their customer service is extremely disappointing. They promise a 5-star facility but deliver zero-star customer service, much like a cheap motel. Do NOT trust them.

Worst company ever. Signed up with the promise that the gym would be opening in 3 months, over a year goes by and nothing. Called to cancel my membership after paying for over a year for nothing and i was told i needed to go in. I went into the office on a Saturday and then was told that I can only cancel Mon-Frid. The front desk person that helped me on Saturday sent an email to the manager (Anthony Triolo) which he replied to saying that he would get back to me first thing on Monday. No one ever reached out to me. I reached out back to them again and was told by a lady that the GM was at lunch and that he would reach out to me after lunch and no one reached out back to me either. So i called again to let them know my frustrations and they provide the worst customer service I have ever seen. Anthony's response to him not reaching out to me was "we are busy here running a full facility." What full facility are you running? you dont have a open gym. Stay away from this place. I already read that the construction wasn't going to be finished any time soon because the business isn't paying the contractors.

If I could give zero stars I would. Everything I want to say has already been said. This situation is an ENTIRE scam & I feel like MUV needs to come clean & just pause everyone's payments until they actually open. That's IF they ever open. I smell a lawsuit if not. Very frustrated. I have been paying for over a year for a gym that was supposed to open 10 months ago. I was originally told July of 23 then it pushed to Sept. Then Dec. Then they said Feb. of 24 for sure. Now it's April because for some reason the equipment is on back order. How did they not order equipment for a place that was supposed to open a year ago? Also, the pool won't open until at least a couple of months later. It also sucks when you go to the tiny gym and have to run around from building to building trying to find a piece of equipment that isn't being used. I do believe that when it finally opens I will be happy, but man this has been an extremely frustrating experience. Update 4/2/24 I am not sure how this gym has 4.5 star reviews, I am pretty sure all of the employees have ghost accounts X 10 and are rating 5 stars. Just got another update and now it says summer of 24 and honestly I would be amazed if this happens. I have zero faith that this place will ever actually open. UPDATE May/6/24 Now I get an email that says construction is only 65% complete. I have lost all faith in these people ever being honest with me. If it took 2 years to get to 65%, then how do they figure a couple months to complete the last 35%. I have been in commercial construction for over 20 years and I know that the last 25% of a project is the toughest. I also know that when a job goes this far beyond the original schedule date that all of the contractors are losing money, which means all of them will be filing liens against the owner. My guess is there will be multiple liens filed, probably in excess of a million dollars and this gym will most likely never open. It sucks because I've been looking forward to this for almost 2 years now, and have been paying for 2 memberships that whole time, and now I am finally ready to give up.

As disappointed as I am with the big gym, taking as long as it is to open I understand there are business aspects that are above my pay grade and will not get upset at the facility or staff for not being open yet. There is a gym open in the meantime! At this gym, I had a great experience with a personal trainer named Joe. He instilled a drive for excellence and health in myself. I decided to suck up my feelings about the big gym not being yet open, drove to the small gym, and walked in, I became overwhelmed with the gym equipment and walked out. After making it back to my car, I thought, "Do I really want to create this toxic cycle of coming to the gym getting overwhelmed and leaving? Or am I gonna be strong and go talk to someone to figure out what I need to do?" Well, obviously, I decided not to. And I am so glad I did.

I’m glad I checked the reviews. I live 15 mins away walking, and walk by very frequently and I noticed it never looks open. I kept getting conflicting information because everything else says they’re open but when you go by there it clearly isn’t. I moved here in May 2023. I was waiting for opening day and it never came. Don't make my mistake by believing that the new facility will open in a couple of months and signing up. I joined in December based on a February opening, then it was May, and now it is Summer 2024 based on an email. Always an excuse out of their control. The contract omitted the facility open date (required by Oregon law - ORS646A.034) but they want to fall back on this contract, even though it doesn't appear valid. They don't want to make things right and cancel/pro-rate my account.

Already sent my email to the address Lindsey requested. Also filed a complaint with the Oregon DOJ for contract violation. Just give me my refund.

After sharing correspondence, we have reached an acceptable agreement.

I'm so glad that I decided against signing up. I kept getting advertisements that this gym had a pool so I asked for a tour. They offered me "an $18 membership and our pool will be open in 60 days". I skipped my tour because I'm not signing up if their full gym isn't open. I then got calls every day from the sales person. I told them no, I said stop calling, I've gotten texts, now I'm getting emails, voice-mail etc. They even offered a 6 week "free membership" after I said please stop contacting me. The whole system of their contract is not right. They lied when they sign me up and come up with a whole new thing when I leave. The manager is someone you will never see and they all forward everything to her though Dushawn was able to help me with rude disrespectful manner at the end.

The fact that this place has a good rating is shocking. We signed up over a year ago with the lie that the gym would open “soon”. So far the gym doesn’t even look close to opening. I canceled my membership this week.

My wife went in over the weekend to cancel hers and they tell her that “they can’t cancel a membership on the weekend and that she needs to talk to a manager to cancel”. That’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard. So now we have to cancel on your time when it’s convenient for you guys. I can’t wait until there’s a lawsuit against this gym. And to top it off, we started the membership at a founders rate of $17 and then magically it went up to $20 without a notice. We tried to figure out why and they said a manager would call back and guess what. Were still waiting for that 3 weeks later.

My wife and I purchased a membership at the beginning of 2023 because of the swimming pool and other amenities that we like. Supposedly, the new facility would be open on spring / summer of 2023. It is January 2024 and still in construction.

To top it up, the hours of operation for the “temporary” location do not fit our schedule because it opens at 7:00 am and closes at 9:00 pm. We need it to open at 5:00 am and closes at 11:00 pm.

We have been paying without using it because we are locked in an unfair contract. We will cancel our membership if the new facility is not open in the first quarter of 2024.

This gym is the biggest scam in Troutdale. It is a class action lawsuit waiting to happen. My wife and I signed up well over a year ago with the promise that the gym would be open first quarter of THIS year. Well it’s the end of the year now, and it’s still not open. To top it off, we were told we had locked in our monthly rate for LIFE. The sales people stressed that our monthly rate would never increase. Well, come to find out that was a lie. We just got an email that our monthly rate was increasing in order to combat inflation. What a joke. Everything out of these people’s mouth is a lie. Avoid this place like the plague. There will be a lawsuit against this company I am sure of it.

Went there for a tour, and have never felt more pressured to purchase something in my life. All for a gym that isn’t even open. Highly do not recommend. They have been taking money from people for over a year. The workers made me feel so pressured. Will not be signing up anytime soon. Maybe if the real gym ever does open up I’ll try again. But horrible experience

Kat is an awesome trainer, Joe and Taka were super helpful and informative. I have no doubt with this gym I know I'm supported here. With all that being said, I'm ready for the müvment!

Update: I am still pleased with the support Jonas offered, and the front desk staff was very friendly, helpful, and professional. At the time of signing up for the gym, I was required to provide contact information for an emergency contact, which is a wise practice at a gym. Today, as soon as the 3-day cancellation window of my contract settled, my emergency contact received a promotion text soliciting business from Darrel. This is wildly inappropriate and unappreciated. Emergency contact information is for emergencies, NOT sales. While this is arguably minor, I am disappointed at the character (or lack thereof) that this displays. If you sign up, please share an emergency contact for your safety and health, but request that your emergency contact person is NOT solicited for sales and membership.

This is a ponzi scheam that we're supposed to open 2 years ago when I joined, paying full enrollment and a itty bitty gym the size of a laundry room. The gym has the permits as I confirmed this with city hall. So why has t it opened ???? A theft to get money out of a lie . No gym full size but cost you full size for a tiny room. Pure lies about it opening in 3 mo 6 mo .

I recently just switched from another gym after being referred to this one from one of my family members and I’m so glad I did even though I’ve only been coming here for a couple of months. One thing that I really enjoy about Muv especially this location is how nice and respectful everyone is towards one another especially the staff that work there. Every single time I come in I am greeted by the brown haired girl (I think her name is Ava) she is always super super sweet and a big help towards everyone who may have questions. Along with, always having a positive attitude which makes my whole gym experience more enjoyable because you can tell she actually enjoys her job.

If I could post without any stars I would but can't make a post here without giving at least one star. I signed up for this gym in January of this year and told by the sales guy the gym would open in June. I also let the guy signing me up know it would be a deal killer if they couldn't provide an invoice for my membership as I received gym reimbursement benefit from my work. When I made a special trip to the gym to request the invoice for the membership dues they would be charging me starting June when they open, the person "helping" me to get invoice couldn't make it happen. He told me I could go see this person or that person to obtain the invoice. I let him know I didn't have time to chase customer service and to have someone call me. Nobody called. I texted back to the number I'd been receiving marketing information that I needed that invoice and could he provide for me. Was told I wouldn't be charged until the gym fully opened and they didn't know exactly when that would be, maybe late fall. At that point, I requested my membership cancelled and my $113 refunded that I paid in January as I wasn't willing to wait more than 8 months to use their gym. BTW, they have a make-shift gym, very small, not the equipment necessary for my personal fitness needs and have never used the make-shift gym. I requested by text and verbally on the phone that they refund my money on May 23, June 4, 5, 6 and 9th. At one point, I spoke with somebody named Brian who told me if I decided to come back and join the gym later, the monthly membership would be $80...good luck with that! They finally cancelled my membership but still not refunded my money. Seems they want my "money for nothing" and now am disputing with my credit card company. On top of that experience, the district manager, Brian is rude.

Called to ask if the kids club is included with a free trial. Sales person I spoke with was Brian and he began by not answering my question.
He constantly brought up the fact that the price of a membership will double once the gym is open but I never once asked about price of membership. Seems like the sales team needs to sit down and talk about how they can go about doing sales because that’s not it.
When he mentioned (again) that I should come to the gym to check it out and that the price of the memberships will double once it’s fully built I said ‘okay thank you so much’ and he proceeded to just hang up the phone. Terrible first impression but does look like a nice gym once built.
