Need to edit my review. While this is the best planet fitness customer service wise, it has really gone down in quality when it comes to cleaning. The men's showers and curtains smell like mildew and have pink mold growing in them along with bugs. The first men's stall has had boogers all on the side doors. Thought they would clean it up when I first noticed it but it's been that way for at least a week. Along with urine sprays on the walls of the stall. Trash has been left in stalls in various places without being picked up by team members. It's pretty damn gross. Please please do better 🙏

I’ve been coming to this gym for the last 4 years. It used to be an amazing gym. New and updated equipment, the gym was clean, and everyone was extremely friendly. Now, all the machines are in need of maintenance, all the pads on the machines are cracking and peeling, and the same urinal in the mens room has been out for the last 5 months or more. It’s my understanding that ownership is transitioning, which is great. However nothing is being done to keep members in the interim. Do better, please.

In short, this is the only gym I've had a repeat membership with, and while it doesn't have all of the bells and whistles of some gyms, for the price you can't beat it.

Longer review, the location I'm currently going to is one of the, if not the cleanest gym I've ever been to. It's open almost 24/7 with some limited hours due to staffing I imagine, and honestly, I'd rather have a gym shorten their hours than let quality of service slide. I love the judgment free philosophy, and at least in the women's locker room there are private changing rooms available. I'm a black card memeber so I have access to all of the amenities which are worth the extra expense in my opinion. The staff have always been attentive, and informative. As someone who is getting back into the fitness saddle after quite a few years, I've never felt uncomfortable there as I have in some other gyms.

Granted experience is going to vary by location, and with how busy an individual location is, but honestly for my the hydro massage lounger alone makes the membership worth it as I have an active job and I have a weird issue with people I don't know touching me even in a professional capacity, granted that's just a me thing, but being able to get some relief from sore muscles without it being a stressful situation is worth quite a bit to me.

If I could give this place a zero I would. For context I'm trying to loose weight after getting up to about 400 pounds. I'm doing well but I still move a little slowly. I walk on the treadmill for twenty minutes at the beginning and end of my workout. This was apparently too long for the manager because loudly accused me of loitering in front of other guests. She also accused me of spending too much time in the locker rooms which is bizarre to me because there are people who are there way longer than me and she never said anything to them. I've also noticed her staring at me and whispering to her coworkers. I'm not sure why she singles me out but it's hurtful. I'm still on the heavier side so it does take me a little longer to get around but I'm never at the gym for more the two hours max. I thought planet fitness was a judgment free zone or whatever. Also my locker wouldn't open one time and I asked her to help me open it and she she literally took thirty minutes to walk over to my locker to help me but not before interrogating me like I'm stealing my own things. She makes going to the gym and absolute nightmare and she creates a hostile environment which is really a shame because I used to love coming here

Always clean and weights and machines rarely have a wait, which is all you really need in a gym. Great variety of machines and good TRX area. -1 star for niche reason, the ellipticals - they only have some newer model which is much less ergonomic for me than the "standard" variety you see at most gyms. Probably 5 stars for the average gymgoer though

Overall a good gym. If I had to critique anything, it'd be that some folks treat machines as their own - they go about their rotations between several machines at once and lay claim to all of them while they do it. South Salem PF is always immaculately clean and the staff are super helpful and friendly. The other day, Finn (Trainer) literally stopped what he was doing to answer a couple questions that I had. He demonstrated the appropriate movement for an exercise, answered my questions and was so pleasant and professional about it. Finn makes himself accessible to members and is very approachable and knowledgable.

Fantastic staff, great amenities! The best part isn’t easy to define, as the staff are fantastic, the equipment is top notch, and the price really can’t be beat. The only detractor is that those who are really serious about their fitness journey might be a little disappointed to find that all the weight racks are assisted racks. Visited this gym today and out of all the planet fitness franchises I've visited this is the only one where I've been forced to watch political content while using the massage chair. Most have sports or a relaxing nature scene in the massage room. When the screen is almost the entire width of a dark room and there is no way to change the channel or turn the tv off, it feels disrespectful to your customers.

We have been enjoying going to the Planet Fitness in South Salem since we moved to Salem. The people at the desk are always friendly when we check in and the way out. It is nice that they do great care in keeping the equipment clean and it is nice to see that all the equipment is in good order. Very nice place to go to work out as there is plenty of equipment for all levels of workout.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Planet Fitness in Salem, Oregon, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and an inviting atmosphere. The facilities were impeccably clean, and the equipment was top-notch, but what truly set this gym apart was the incredible staff.

I had the misfortune of leaving my wallet in the changing room, and by the time I realized it, I was already 2000 miles away in Dallas, TX. Panic set in, but the amazing team at Planet Fitness Salem sprang into action. Not only did they secure my wallet immediately, but they also went above and beyond to ensure it was returned to me safely. Their communication was prompt and reassuring, making what could have been a stressful situation completely stress-free.

A special shoutout to the managers and staff members who handled the situation with such professionalism and kindness. Their dedication to customer service and genuine care for their members is truly commendable. It's clear that this team takes pride in their work and goes the extra mile to make sure their members are taken care of.

I have been a PF member since 2017, and a gym member for over 30 years, and have to say this SE Salem Planet Fitness club has been the been the best experience of all my gym experiences. The manager at the SE Salem gym is exceptional and it shows in the personnel and all of the facilities (which I use all). I have felt more welcome and appreciated for being a member at this gym, than any other establishment in my lifelong experience of gyms and other memberships and truly feel like a VIP. This fitness club's management and entire team do an absolute outstanding job of making me feel part of a family and run an impressively tight and clean ship. I want to personally thank Juanita and the entire team there for their excellent service and for such a rewarding experience every time I go. I consider this gym and extension of my home. Great JOB!

Can't get a human on the phone to save my life
I've been paying 25 bucks a month since November last year and only able to use gym once due to a back injury. I've tried getting a hold of someone so many times but can't get a human on the phone to speak to. I'm in too much pain to go to the gym in person or I would. This gym is a rip off and good for nothing

I really enjoy the diversity of equipment and gym goers. The staff are friendly and helpful. They do a deep clean every week and folks are good at wiping things down after use. I highly recommend the hydro massager if you get a chance. This location does have some folks living out of their cars in the parking lot, but it's far from the entrance. There's security that drives around constantly, and myself and staff haven't had any issues. Please don't let that stop you from supporting this location and its staff!

My friend who was in the restroom, as he was exiting the gym got a call from me which I was letting him know I was outside (ready to leave) keep in mind he’s EXITING, well Seth planet fitness patrol who was standing and bored (as usual) decided he was going to give a warning to my friend for being on his phone at 1am yes a simple 10 second phone call was enough for Mr. Seth to take matters into his own hands, no one near by to bother or interrupt anyone’s workout. Seth the planet patrol was patrolling way to hard. Due to that arrogance I cancel my membership.
