This facility is a profound failure in basic operational and safety standards. The hot water is consistently unavailable between 6–8 p.m., forcing members into freezing showers — a situation that is not merely inconvenient, but raises serious sanitary and OSHA concerns. A gym of this size and reputation should understand that hot water is essential for hygiene and member safety. On top of this, staff regularly remove members’ belongings from lockers at their discretion, a blatant violation of privacy and security that no paying customer should endure.

Equally disturbing is the night-shift staff’s incompetence. When asked a simple question about the difference between a standard tanning bed and a hybrid, the employee had no knowledge, revealing alarming gaps in training and disregard for safe equipment use. Members pay for a facility that should guarantee safety, cleanliness, and competent support — instead, they receive cold showers, negligent staff, and mismanaged operations. This location is an unsafe, mismanaged environment that clearly warrants OSHA and health inspections, and until serious changes are made, it should be avoided at all costs.

The Commercial Street location is always clean. Every time I work out I see staff cleaning. I like the variety of equipment and the hassle free concept. Everyone is very welcoming and helpful. I like to take advantage of the chair massage sometimes when I am done. It’s a nice way to finish a workout.

I was going to this planet fitness with my friend who had a black card membership, when I signed in they informed me that there was a note on my account saying I’ve been “stealing” from their locker rooms. This gym denied me from entry even after I explained and showed proof that I’ve been going to my home gym regularly and have never received any notice about this, not on my email, phone number, account, or in person. Later I called my home gym and apparently the note placed on my account was meant for someone else which I understand, mistakes happen. Also the note was put down in 2023 and I’ve had a membership since and when their employee told this to their manager they still denied me entry at the salem location. I feel incredibly insulted and embarrassed. The employee could not give me the contact for the manager that denied me access. Instead she handed me the number of their assistant manager.

Tried to get a day pass for the day as I was visiting. No where on their website says that they discontinued it. Assistant manager had no empathy, compassion or will to let me in for the day. The assistant manager, named Kali, was careless and inconsiderate. Would definitely not recommend going here. The inside looks smaller than most gyms. Super disappointing experience. I suggest spending your money elsewhere to a facility that cares about your physical and mental health.

I went here one time because my friend was able to bring a guest so I wanted to try it. The staff were always in my business and I couldn't understand why. First they told me to put my phone away because there's no recording, I was just taking a picture of the logo cuzz I was simply using Snapchat, not taking pictures of others but sure fine whatever. Have to leave one star as it is so difficult to cancel your membership. You CANNOT cancel membership online, CANNOT cancel by phone, CANNOT cancel by app. It took me 5 days, multiple phone calls, and 3 emails to cancel, and then they still charged me the following months fees as they require 7 days advanced notice to stop charges. New laws will make this illegal soon. Really terrible service and a huge headache. Club manager, Huge Lloyd, has poor customer service. He made everything worse. for my check-in. what if her health is not good, Shall I also stop doing fitness work for my self? I don't understand the logic of your scheme. I could have taken two separate membership with 15$ for both of us and that would be better for me for workout at independent time. This is just way to make a fool to people. Planet Fitness is great - my dues are only $10 per month, the gym is always clean, it's got a variety of weights, machines, and workout areas so I can do different things on different days. And I love the "judgement free zone" branding. It's great for someone (me) who just wants to go work out around other people who are just there to work out. Staff is super friendly and helpful without being intrusive and I really appreciate that.

This gym was very clean and maintained, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They made you feel welcomed and had her personal trainer there to answer any questions that I had. They also had massage chairs which were pretty decent, definitely not the greatest but it did the job. What a great value.

I think this is the best gym I've ever been to, and the staff is great, helpful, and supportive. I love taking the classes that are offered here. Today, I found myself compelled to share my experience, although I typically refrain from leaving reviews or complaints about establishments. My son, who is 15 years old, and I were having a wonderful day together, and we decided to stop by a here at planet fitness Lancaster drive me, before heading next door to shop for clothes. Upon entering the gym, where I intended to get a tan while my son waited, I encountered a manager named Garin. Unfortunately, I felt that he was quite rude and condescending towards me, which prompted me to speak up.

Garin insisted that my son check in, despite the fact that he would only be sitting and not engaging in any activities. While I had no issue with the request itself, I was taken aback by Garin's disrespectful demeanor. Feeling unjustly spoken to, I expressed my frustration with a strong word. I even suggested to Garin that if he lacked the patience required for customer service, perhaps the customer service industry was not the right fit for him. His response, "You don’t tell me what to do," left me feeling further disheartened, as I sensed a lack of regard for customer satisfaction.

Following this encounter, I took to social media to share my experience, only to discover that I was not the first person to have faced such treatment from Garin. I urge the management to address this behavior with Garin, as his actions could potentially lead to legal repercussions for discrimination or harm to customers. I felt genuinely concerned that the situation might escalate to a physical confrontation or result in my removal from the premises.

Despite my typically passive nature, Garin's conduct today truly tested my patience and left me feeling disrespected. I hope that this feedback serves as an opportunity for the establishment to address the issue and ensure a more positive experience for future customers.

Every time I enter the friendly staff greets me with a smile and kind words. The equipment is all new, in top working condition and super clean. There is no smell of sweat in the air but is pleasant.
