It was my first time showing up at the gym with no open door to go in so I had to WIST for someone with a key to open. When I asked how much it was for a member ship they told me 35 but charged me 70. I just found out a day after because they never gave me a receipt.

Apparently, the gym membership doesn’t include access to clean filtered water anymore. Clean drinking water is a bare minimum requirement for any gym… especially one that charges more and is consistently increasing their prices while providing no additional value. Your choices for water are tap or $1.50 for bottled water. There is apparently a filtered water source in the locked recovery room… if you’re lucky enough to find an employee, they may open it for you to refill your water bottle. *Edit… Access to the recovery room has a monthly charge. So your additional option is $60 a month for access to clean drinking water 🤣 *.
This gym has consistently gone downhill in quality since B-fit sold.

I don't give one star reviews lightly and this review is from a compilation of negative experiences we've had at Snap Fitness. My wife and I have a Planet Fitness membership in addition to this one. We only go to Snap Fitness because it's close to home. The difference between how the two gyms are operated is day and night. Planet Fitness is only a quarter of the cost(YES! 1/4 of the cost for a two person membership), has multi club access, a friendly staff, and is very clean. Unfortunately, Snap Fitness is the very opposite; overpriced, antiquated equipment, dirty, and unmentionably awful customer service/staff.
Our expectations aren't very high when it comes to basic gyms. We just get a good workout and go home. Unfortunately, Snap Fitness can't even meet our bare minimum expectations. Recently, we were even falsely accused of sneaking into the gym that we pay a monthly membership for. I understand that they are trying to crack down on those people who don't pay for memberships and sneak in at night. However, my wife and I are innocent. They sent a glaring email notifying me that we were caught sneaking into the gym. I responded to try and clarify that it might be their system glitching. Instead of apologizing for the confusion, they insisted that we were the ones in the wrong and abruptly ended the conversation by emailing back "This conversation is done!"
Surely, the owners are most likely going to provide a generic response for this review: "Thanks for blah blah blah." The ugly truth is that they'll most likely never improve their customer service, their facility, or their reputation and I'll still be a paying member coming here out of convenience for many more years to come. Glad I got this off my chest. Now, time to head to this miserable place called a gym for a good workout.

Why is it that you can send multiple emails about purchasing packages for the new recovery center but can't send out a simple email to let paying members know there is no active water supply in a gym?
Tell me you don't care about your customers without telling me you dont care about your customers.
Update and reply - It has definitely been over at least 2 weeks that the water machine has been out of order and months that you've had an incomplete barbell set. Walking down the hall is not the inconvenience, the inconvenience is not having a filtered water machine that functions properly and having to fill my water bottle at a water FOUNTAIN. If you can't fix it, replace it. You're basically saying you got the broken one for free and you're not even willing to invest in your own to provide customer service? Maybe take accountability instead of making excuses and trying to bad mouth your customers. It's very unprofessional and tacky.
You get what you pay for, and at this gym you get even less! You think a gym would have a water source for filling water bottles efficiently but the water machine has been broken for weeks! The best part is when you ask about the status you get met with defensiveness and attitude. Missing barbells aren't replaced by owners. They raise their fees but not their customer service. Charge annual maintenance fees but provide no maintenance. How do you expect customers to care about your facility when it is abundantly clear you don't care about your own facility?

I have shown up twice with someone who has a snap card during “staffed hours” to try and sign up for a membership myself, just to ring the bell on the front desk and have no one come out. The second time we came and rang the bell, someone inside the gym told us he had already tried to reach staff earlier and he had no luck so we left shortly after. I left planet fitness for the convenience of this gym but the lack of reliable staffing has made this entire process frustrating. After seeing many other reviews about poor staff, it seems this isn’t just a one-off. It is very disappointing.

I have had a great experience at Snap Fitness! The gym is clean, well-equipped, and has a welcoming atmosphere. My personal trainer, Nicki, has been fantastic; she is extremely knowledgeable, supportive, and always makes sure my workouts are tailored to my goals. She takes the time to explain exercises, ensures proper form, and keeps me motivated. I have seen real progress thanks to her guidance. Highly recommend both the gym and working with Nicki!

I’ve been training at snap for about a year and a half and it’s been great. So far I’m down about 70lbs and 2 pant sizes. Nicki has been great at providing me with diverse workouts so I’m never board at the gym. As well as keeping me accountable so that my training pays off. I couldn’t recommend this place more.

This is in response to Snap's reply to my husband's review. I am the account owner and I called because his card did not work one morning, which was the result of a Snap error. I called to inquire and was told it was because Snap was in the process of increasing fees and he was locked out but it was fixed. The person I talked to wasn't really that apologetic about the inconvenience and didn't provide any explanation for the increase in fees. It was a bland and not customer service fronting conversation which I reported back to my husband who then left a review. Snap's response is disappointing. They are the ones who increased fees, they are the ones who locked us out even though our fees were paid, and instead of being gratious in a response, they chose to be defensive and passive agressive, going so far as to looking into my husband's workout history to post in their rebuttal to my husband's review what time he arrives at the gym. Leaves a bad feeling when there are a lot of other gyms to choose from at a time when Snap is increasing their fees substantially.

Snap charged me the up coming months fees, I went to gym 1 day and card wouldn't work? Called, they said fees went up and I had been locked out because the autopsy didn't charge me the new fee? So why did you take out the previous fee and still shut my card off. The gym itself is quite nice, it’s clean and in a good area! However staff here is very unfriendly. I’m never greeted when walking in or when I’m leaving. Planet Fitness and other gyms do a better job of this. Customers should ALWAYS feel welcome and be appreciated. I’m giving a very generous 3 stars, but would have been an easy 5 if staff was friendly.

We tried this gym because of the location, however I learned that convenience isn’t always better. The price for my spouse and I is close to $100 a month. For under $24 a month PF and a couple other gyms have everything that this gym has and more. Also, with the exception of Keenan, the staff here is quite impersonable. There have been several times where I’d smile/nod at staff upon entering the gym as well as leaving the gym and staff just kind of rolled their eyes at me 🤷♂️. There are a few reviews about this if you scroll through. This gym is definitely NOT for us. The 1 star is for the location. We will be canceling our membership!
The manager here is the most unfriendliest, unwelcoming, arrogant person I have ever met. We workout at home for free saving almost $100 a month. So, if you enjoy a company laughing at you as they take your money, then you may become the next sucker!

I started my adventure several months ago and found myself back at Snap Fitness again! This time a different location but I love this one the most! My personal trainer is very friendly, and I always look forward to coming in on the one on one days.
I realized all the trainers are very helpful and knowledgeable on reaching your goals.
I’m always impressed with the cleanliness and the well oiled equipment- 5 ⭐️ also.

I’m very disappointed with the way we’ve been treated at the gym. The new staff member, who I believe is the manager’s son, has been extremely rude and used cuss words toward us. The manager herself has also been disrespectful, yelling at us and falsely accusing us of things we didn’t do.
We recorded this behavior, and after realizing that, the manager threatened to sue us and continued to insult us. This kind of unprofessional conduct creates a very hostile environment, and it’s unacceptable.
I hope this is taken seriously and properly addressed.

Great gym but you MUST be clear and forceful about canceling your membership. I needed it for one month since I was leaving the area, I even sent an email saying so shortly after signing up. Then, the next month I saw a charge on my card. I called and canceled with a bit of hassle but it really felt unnecessary. Perhaps pay with one of those prepaid cards? I wish I never gave them mine.

The policy for forgetting your badge is pretty bad in my opinion. It's a $10 dollar fee to access the gym if you forget your badge. What’s interesting is staff will look up your name, see that you’re a member and then charge your account the $10 dollars. What this says is that they can see you’re a member, can probably check your ID to verify it’s you but instead they charge $10 dollars for buzzing you in.
Again would give 4 or 5 but the process for forgetting your badge should be more helpful instead of penalized

I’ve been at Snap Fitness for almost six months now working with my personal trainer, Nicki, she is so great and I’ve seen such a huge difference with my physique in a very short amount of time. She gives full planned out workouts which help a lot with the indecisiveness of what to do each day. Working with her has been great and Snap Fitness is one of the best gyms I’ve been to!

Nicki is a great trainer! She worked with me for about 9 months and I saw great results! She tailored my workouts to achieve my fitness goals and worked around my knee injury. I wanted someone to push me and every workout was worth every dollar. She knows how to get results that will change the way your body looks. She also shares the workouts with you so you can use them on your own. I gained muscle and lost body fat. She knows how to design a workout for a woman and target problem areas. I can’t recommend her enough!! If you’re willing to work hard, she will help you get the body you want!

Nicki offers great routines and advice that is tailored to your needs and goals. She’s helped me gain awareness of my body, my intentions, when to push myself and when to be kind to myself. Absolutely love this gym. I have been a member for about two years and have had a wonderful experience. The gym is always clean, tons of equipment and friendly staff. But the best offering is personal training. I have been working with Nicki since June 2023 and am down 60lbs! She does so much more than just help me with workouts. She has taught me what it looks like to eat healthy while still having a life, how to make small adjustment for big impact, balancing priorities, and so much more. I have met the other trainers and they all have a shared passion for seeing their client succeed. This gym is truly a gem!

This gym has pretty much any weight machine you can think of. Very busy most of the time. I often have to adjust my planned workout due to lack of benches/weights. The gym is well stocked, but there are just too many people there. Even at 11pm, there are dozens of people working out. I would switch gyms, but this one is 2 minutes from home and open 24/7. Staff never bothers you, they leave you to your workout. It's nice not having pushy trainers trying to sell you on their programs.

Like many who may read this; the new year was quickly approaching, I was fed up, ready for a change. I checked google and found a gym that wasn’t too far away from me and gave Snap Fitness a shot. It has always been clean, and plenty of equipment. Starting my gym membership Best decision I have made in years. The free meeting with a personal trainer, Byron, was informative, and extremely helpful. He explained how I can achieve my goals and I felt like I was chatting with someone who wanted to see me win. It was a no-brainer to continue to book with him for personal training. This was my first experience with a PT and it set the tone for the next year. I lost 40 pounds! It all happened so fast but one day I came to realize that the staff and gym-goers at Snap Fitness are secretly rooting for you. I was once worried what people might or scared because as a newbie let’s be real, gyms are scary. I’ve never had a bad or unpleasant experience. The best investment will always be yourself and I believe ALL the trainers at Snap Fitness in Happy Valley are a wealth of knowledge. Huge thank you to Gavin and Keenan who I think radiate positive gym culture, and the front desk staff who are always happy to help. If you think you are ready, this is the place to be.
Edit: Had to ask someone for a couple of the staffs name because while i haven't interacted with them personally much their hospitality and professionalism adds to the environment. Thank you Robin, Nicole, and Chris.

He is knowledgeable about the science of exercise as well as the fundamentals of nutrition. I appreciate that he can swiftly adapt routines to work around injuries and scheduling conflicts when I need a routine when traveling. He is kind, funny, but can hold his clients accountable for showing up and working to the best of their abilities. I was resistant initially to believing I needed a trainer, but I think I wouldn't have come so far so quickly without his support!

Wow. This review is for Thursday evening, April 11th 2024. I was parked in the lot south of SNAP, just 15 seconds to the front door of SNAP. I did my shopping in the center, got back to my car after 5pm and it wouldn't start. I needed a battery jump, but my car is a VW diesel, so I needed a truck to jump it. I look over and there's easily 30 trucks parked in the full lot in front of SNAP. I went to the door, which didn't open. We knock; a young guy comes out. I explain that I just need a 30-second jump from a truck, and I have cables. I ask if we can ask any gym-goers inside if they could help me? "Evan" does not hesitate; there is no thoughtful consideration of my plea for help. He says "No. There's nothing I can do. We can't help you." I was stunned by his abruptness and immediate refusal to help. I try again. "Please!" I tell him it would just take two minutes. I'm an older female, it was evening and getting cold and dark. Evan again says "NO." Then points across the street and proceeds to mansplain that I should try another store; they probably have a truck. (They didn't.) I tell Evan that I'm parked a few feet away; my car won't start and stores are closing. I point to the SNAP lot and tell him that there is no doubt in my mind that one of these truck owners would help me if asked. I'M NOT ASKING EVAN TO JUMP MY CAR; I'M ASKING HIM TO ASK IF ANYONE IN THE GYM WOULD BE WILLING TO HELP ME FOR TWO MINUTES? Evan AGAIN says "NO, we can't help you." Now I'm frustrated, angry and incredulous that this kid is being so incredibly rude. So I said, "That's not true. You COULD help me. But for some reason you're choosing not to. I was only asking you to help another human in need, and it would have only taken a few minutes." Evan never even let me inside. SNAP, when your employees are on the clock and wearing your shirt, they represent your company, your standards and your values. Your employees ARE your company in a service-oriented industry. Evan failed in every way possible. So I only have one (horrible) impression of Snap. Chivalry and kindness is dead at SNAP. In a twist, after Evan shut the door on me, a Snap gym-goer who owned one of those trucks left the gym. He saw I was in trouble, and HE ASKED ME if I needed help? Yes, omg thank you!! I said. Mitch and his friend stayed with me until my car started, and I was safely on my way home with my car. Thank heavens for Mitch. Mitch is chivalrous, and Mitch gets 10 out of 5 stars. Evan and SNAP get 0/5 stars. UPDATE: Owner has provided an extremely weak, wishy-washy response. That night I was perfectly clear that I needed a battery jump start for my car. The employee knew EXACTLY what I needed; he immediately and repeatedly said "NO. I can't help you. There's nothing WE can do." All that was needed for you to reply to my review is this: "The employee was wrong. He should have helped you. We will do better next time." Unbelievably, the employee in question -Evan, and possibly two employees with Devon, have submitted two 5-star reviews. Serious conflict of interest. Morally and ethically wrong. Low integrity business. Go elsewhere.

This gym has amazing staff personnel. There is just one problem though. Their manger is a very unfriendly woman. I went into the gym with my friend when i realized i left my pass at home. She told me i needed to leave in a very awful tone. I understand that i am not allowed in without a pass so i was okay with leaving. But that was not the end. I called my friend who was in the gym and told him that i cant come in because i do not have my pass on me. He informed me that Robin Morse (the manager) had said that she was going to put a notice on his account for trying to "sneak" me in and if it happened again that she was going to terminate my friends pass that he worked very hard to get with his own money. After i heard that i knew i needed to talk to the manager because that was not the case and it was just an honest mistake. I told her what had happened and in a very rude and nasty tone she told me that she did not care and that she was still going to keep the notice on his account. She was not kind at all and very mean. When i was out by grocery outlet i ran into somebody whose friend works there and he told me that it was normal for her to be nasty and that that was just how she was. Like i said everyone else in the gym was very kind but i do not think that they should have a manager that is this rude. I hope that my friends notice gets taken off and that this problem gets fixed.

Gym usually filled with arrogant obnoxious kids that take every single machine. Owner is not exactly the nicest but not too bad. Equipment 4/10. They leave a huge fan on even when it’s freezing temperatures, body is completely cooled down after a 4 minute rest. Overall not bad for beginner gym goers but definitely don’t recommend to the gym brothers and sisters.

This was my first year at this gym, and it has been great. I work late sometimes, so the 24 hour access is super convenient. There's all the equipment I need, its always clean, and the staff are exceptionally friendly. I met with Keenan, one of the personal trainers, for several months and he was awesome. He was very knowledgeable about different workouts and nutrition, and has made me very confident and comfortable while working out. I highly recommend booking some sessions. The gym also hosts muscle gain and weight loss competitions for members, which I participated in and really enjoyed. There was even a cash prize, overall pretty cool gym.

If you want to take your fitness to the next level or are feeling lost at the gym - do yourself a huge favor and time saver, and invest in a personal training package. I really didn’t think I could afford this, but I decided to cut out a few other expenses that I could go without for a while from my budget, so I could subscribe to a few rounds of personal training packages. It has really been so worth the money.
Keenan is a great trainer, is empathetic to people who struggle with being fit, and sets you up with starting small to go big (making it easy to do and digest when you first start). I’m sure he has heavier guns to use (no pun intended) for those who already have a fitness regimen and want to level up a few notches.
He set me up with body scans, calorie guides and tools, and regular check ins to go along with my sessions, and gave me workouts I could do without being intimidated or losing motivation because they were “too hard”. I got back in the habit of going to the gym 3x per week, and have gained muscle and lost fat. I can see a big difference in my body and energy levels.
This is a great way to trick yourself into a gym habit as well, if you’ve ever struggled with that.
This is a great gym, with great trainers and class leaders, and shoutout to the manager, Robin, who is awesome and a gym buff as well.
This gym also has full separate shower facilities for both men and women, and plenty of single restrooms.
I like this place, and am so glad I got a membership here, but more importantly - I’m SO GLAD that I invested in personal training to show me what to do, how to use the equipment/machines, and show me routines that I can use for the rest of my life if I want to.

Been a member since this venue opened. Very satisfied with the equipment and clean environment. I notice cleaning staff regularly during the day and disinfectant is readily available for members' use. I rarely need to talk "business" with the staff, but when I have, they have been friendly and attentive. I'm in the gym 2-3 times per week and have always had positive interactions with the staff. They are enthusiastic and always encouraging me to meet my fitness goals. As far as music, it seems like the repertoire is varied with something for everyone across the various ages of members. Always enjoy my days in the gym.

Snap Fitness gym in Happy Valley is a great gym. I’ve been a member for a few years now. The staff is friendly, helpful and welcoming and the gym is kept orderly, clean and is well equipped.
I’ve been working with Master Trainer Nicki for a couple years. She’s fantastic. So encouraging and excited to help me reach my personal fitness goals. She obviously loves training. Nicki is extremely knowledgeable about fitness. I’ve learned so much from her. Our workouts are both beneficial and enjoyable.
I recently added a group fitness class which is led by Michelle. It’s a vigorous and well planned class and Michelle is very upbeat and encouraging and entertaining. This class is a great addition to my personal fitness plan.

I did pay 580 for a training personal and was working in the morning and taking care my grandkid after 430pm so before I did pay that money to the gym I did explain my needs and Cristine the training person knew that but when I tried to find a schedule for me , she didn’t had enough time to give me her time training and just called to try to talk about find some solution but the manager , she was not polite , not friendly , was very angry by the phone trying to have fun about my English … and she only answered me .. what ? Snap Happy Valley has been one of the most welcoming gyms I have been to. I appreciate the cleanliness and the numerous, variety of machines.
I also want to give a shout out to master trainer, Nicki. I have trained with her for two years and she has built my gym confidence like I’ve never had before and given me a robust foundation for my future workouts. Nicki is very organized, positive and encouraging. It’s clear this is her passion, and I think she’s excellent at it.

It’s your basic no-frills gym. Open 24/7 with a keycard which is great. Staff is friendly. The roof was leaking last winter and it’s still leaking this year. Biggest complaint is the gym music they play. It’s so loud my noise canceling headphones can’t override it. Sound track would be just fine inside Safeway… not exactly get pumped music.

I recently was checking this gym out as a Very Convenient place to work. They were Amazing!!! Michelle was very informative and really knew her stuff. Christine did an amazing job of helping discover my Fitness needs. And the trainers there are world class. They have a ton of classes which for only $15 a month I can attend all of them I want. That’s a great deal. Because I need to be in a community environment. The gym is very clean and the equipment is New and fun. I really like the feeling of community and wellness. And I’m so excited to start building better health for myself. I’ve read some reviews and what I like most. Is that they care and change. I think that’s really important. Also security. Is important to me. Especially with all the craziness of Portland. Here you have to be a member to get in. No strays. I saw someone leave a phone. And another Person working out returned it. Great honest people. That really means allot to feel safe.

Just last week, I came in with no keycard. This was my second time forgetting it. As I was let in by others that had keycards, I came in to the gym to talk to the employee at the front desk to let her know I left my card at home. Before I had the chance to look at the front desk, I was greeted by a very aggressive and harassing tone. As the employee, Michelle, proceeded to scream at me to leave the premises at the moment without any further conversation. She told me that I can not have my personal training session without my keycard. Everything that was said, could’ve been in a different approachable tone. Instead, I felt unwelcome, and ridiculed. The gym is supposed to be a positive environment and so far, besides most of the personal trainers, me and my friends have experienced nothing but aggression and negativity from the front desk.

There have been several instances where I have seen a specific man taking pictures/ videos of younger girls, including myself. I have complained 4 times about this this instance. The last time I told the manager of the gym about this and her response was "well have you gone up and talked to him?" I have even been told by other employees that this man has had several complaints against him from other members (including girls as young as 16) and still nothing has been done. The manger refuses to revoke his membership after many complaints from many people. Absolutely disgusting if you ask me. According to her and her very poor management style, she cares more about making money from his membership than the safety of other members. She should not be in a management position if her only solution is making the the individuals resolve it themselves. So if you want to feel uncomfortable and unsafe while working out, by all means, go to this gym.

I forgot my keycard today and signed in with my name at the front desk and I was given a “warning”. Like, what’s gonna happen? You’re gonna put me in time out for not bringing my key card? I am a former member of “BFit” who stayed at this gym while it reopened under a new ownership (and new name). The problem is not the gym itself. The actual gym is VERY CLEAN. The equipment is in excellent condition and very well maintained. Unfortunately, it’s the gym environment that has completely “soured” my experience. As a result, I am terminating my gym membership effective immediately. I will not refer anyone to this gym and I definitely will not come back to this gym. I did not join this gym and pay membership fees every month to have a personal trainer (Lighthouse Fitness) come out of his office to come and harass me and interrupt me during my workout, then interrogate me for using a treadmill while degrade me over how I am choosing to workout. This high pressured salesman belongs in a mall at a kiosk and NOT in a gym. I was pressured into a personal training session and then pressured into signing up for a personal training contract because he wasn’t going to accept no for an answer. This is HORRIBLE business practice. These trainers are on the constant look out for gym members to harass. They were problem for me at BFit and they are a problem now with new ownership. I’m DONE with this gym. I am not signed up with a new gym down the road (Planet Fitness) where I am treated in luxury. I have a huge gym with brand new equipment and guess what I have a personal trainer now who is working with me and it’s all included in my monthly membership. He is creating me a custom workout and plan and it’s not costing me anything. I am not harassed. I have the hydro massage machine included in my membership. I have tanning beds and other massage chairs… All kinds of wonderful services and the staff is absolutely wonderful. It’s a clean gym and it’s serious competition to this gym. Lighthouse Fitness has very negative removes on the BBB website and one of their former employees even spoke out who worked at BFit and is no longer employed with this gym. It’s a very uncomfortable and negative experience walking into the gym and seeing trainers in there because as a member I know that they are going to harass people including myself. $180 a month for four sessions that are 30 minutes are a rip off and furthermore, I don’t like how they treat me like I’m stupid. I know how to work out. I have taken fitness classes and nutrition in college. Also, this trainer was pushing me to do things that I shouldn’t have been doing after having been out of the gym. This gym has been unstable in this pandemic and once people sign up for a personal trainer… after 3 days if you don’t cancel … your screwed. It’s a bad contact in my opinion. I canceled out and got my $400 back. If there is another shut down..this establishment can continue to charge for personal training sessions. Bad business practices. When I pay for a gym membership, I have a right to use whatever equipment I want to use. I have never even been harassed or treated this way at a mall kiosk. I also am able to have a guest with me for free at my gym. I don’t need to sign a friend or family member up for another account.
