Child care is great, and my kids love the pool. I just wish there was more parking.

Oneness for Everyone

Pool locker rooms and showers are gross. I watched the guy use a swifter type mop to "clean" and there were bandaides on the floor, hair and visible dirt still left. Standing water in the shower rooms, broken tiles, just overall gross. Usually smells like urine in at least 2 of the private showers. I left a review before and they replied saying that they clean multiple times a day and I must have been in-between cleaning times. Well, I was just there after they "cleaned" and I can assure you, it's still gross. Also, pool locker room is absolutely freezing. Horrible pool experience.

Over all I really enjoy this place. The only thing I dislike is the fact that there is so many class cancelations due to hiring staff thatbis not reliable. Also the hot tub and sauna are closed way too often. Lastly don't know why they don't invest in quality basketballs.

The gym is ok, very little and pretty busy. You'll definitely have to wait for machines. Childcare is good. The parking is ridiculous, it's small and always overcrowded. If it's not taken over by the gym goers, it's definitely taken over by some dumb event they're holding in the gym that has nothing to do with the actual gym. Sometimes said event will even have the gym close down and you can't go use the gym.

Be sure to call ahead and actually speak to a membership team. Voicemail will not be called back on. Online says they offer Day passes for swimming! Will not be honored on site.

Love the Y, but they definitely have to do something about their parking situation. It makes the experience so much worse, even though everything else is great. Bummer considering cancelling my membership.....

The gym is great, pool.was fun and it was a fun time even with the angry old guy sitting in the echoing hallway yelling at people for talking about the live basketball in the gym because he is legit sitting there trying to hear a radio transmitted game. Only rude person we've met in our time here in Salem. The Y itself, tho, and all.of the staff were terrific.

Decent place, their lost and found policy needs to be modified, as it currently allows employees to instead of putting lost/dropped items in the lost and found..if it's anything that person disagrees with, just toss it in the trash. Then you are denied return of said item/s.

Fantastic new building! The pool is nice and big great time for the kids an I. If you can find a parking spot. For the life of me I can't understand why the building was redone with parking for let's be generous and say 100.

The gym, equipment, staff, and facility in general are great. Where it loses stars is the fact that a family will have a very difficult time all using the facility at once, which kind of defeats the purpose. The age restrictions are limiting so a parent can't exercise while their tweens are in the pool, or a teen can't exercise while a parent watches the younger kids in the pool. What I really disliked though, and ultimately what made me drop my membership, was the parking and gym were overly full almost any time of day or night I went. I could go at 10am when most people are at work, or 9pm when most families are in for the night, and not be able to find parking, so I'd turn around and go home. Or, if you are lucky enough to find parking, all the machines in the gym will be in use. It was a giant waste of time too often and not worth paying to NOT be able to use the facility.

If you're looking for a nice family pool this isn't the place. If you work normal business hours 8-5 you can forget taking the kids to the pool during the week, and the weekend hours are fairly limited. Unfortunately there are very few pool options in Salem.

Finished the building two years ago, pretty impressive. Looks clean and staff is really friendly and helpful. Parking lot gets a bit full at times and street parking isn’t free until after 6pm, it’s ok though. Nice place for people in the community to go.

Amazing facilities - but do not come here for a day pass like other YMCAs. Monthly passes only which their website at the time did not and may still not clearly state.

I love the YMCA here. The new building is beautiful. There's tons of light on the great feeling of community. The staff is always friendly and willing to lend a hand whenever one is needed. I love the diversity in ages, genders and races. I'm 61 but I love to watch the little kids playing down on the gym floor. It's wonderful to see so many families there together. I wished I had had that kind of a place to take my kids when they were growing up. I love all of the values that I see there. It's more than a gym it's a family. I've never been disappointed rather surprised so many times in positive ways. One last comment. I love that I don't feel pressured to have the exact right close or to look the exact right way as you do in some gyms. People are friendly and I never see an unhappy face there. It's refreshing to see people of all different body types ages and stages in life getting healthier and having a great time doing it.

Kids 15 yr old and under can't do nothing. Its kind of boring for them not to be allowed to do much. This discourage the kids to do something good.

Brand new facility. Super friendly and helpful staff. Good variety of workout classes and availability of equipment. Parking can be a challenge. Try walking and get some cardio warm up in before and cool down after your workout πŸ˜‰

They have updated their policy, and 9 to 12 year olds are now allowed in the gym escorted by a parent. It still is a little difficult as there is not a place that 9-12 year olds can go while you work out aside from open basketball at 7:30pm on some nights. They still have to be accompanied in the pool during open swim by an adult even though a lifeguard is on duty. The only other option is the Thrive Cafe, which is literally just an empty room with tables and chairs and three unwatched and unsecured doors directly to the outside. The gym is pretty good. However, a lot of the machines are constantly down for maintenance. They are doing better with their policies, but open swim needs to be for 9 and up if the parent is in the building.
