After years of floundering on my own, doing too much cardio, and not seeing results, I chose to work with a professional in hopes of bettering my overall health. As a busy mom of multiple kids, I needed to spend time caring for myself. I chose to work with Austin because I appreciated his evidence based approach to health and fitness. In an industry full of sales pitches for “fast fixes” and “health coaching” it was important to me to find someone who was making recommendations based on true physiologic principles rather than fad recommendations that fill social media. Austin is an absolute professional. He customized a plan for me and gave me the push I needed to challenge myself to do more. After years of being stalled out, I found myself changing and growing emotionally and physically. He helped me reframe my approach to cardio, eating enough to fuel my body, taught me the principles of strength training, and made me feel comfortable in a weight room—something that always intimidated me prior. This investment into myself was so necessary and I couldn’t have done it on my own.

I’ve been working with Austin for the past three years and I can’t recommend him enough. I wanted to pursue my fitness goals more seriously but understood that I lacked the knowledge, time, and commitment to achieve those goals. That lead me to seek out the help of a personal trainer.

Austin has made reaching my fitness goals so much easier. He has a wealth of fitness and nutritional knowledge that he applies to his client’s individual needs. Whether that be achieving fitness and dietary goals or recovering from injuries.

Aside from helping me get stronger, Austin has also helped me with various injuries and physical discomforts while training. I had been plagued by knee pain that was slowing starting to interfere with my ability to train. Austin created a whole program to address my knee issues while also making sure I could train safely. I’ve been pain free for almost a year thanks to Austin’s commitment to helping his clients!

I’ve been training at ABS with Austin for several years. So, after 300+ workouts, I can easily recommend him to anyone wanting a helping hand with their fitness and nutrition goals.

As someone with a fulltime job, I’m thankful for Austin’s evidence-based knowledge and wealth of experience so that I can have productive training sessions without the mental load of designing and maintaining my own program.

Originally, I hadn’t planned to do any resistance training or hire a coach, since I was already training in BJJ and was concerned additional training would make me too tired or sore to make it to class. Then I was asked to join in dual training sessions to help save some money, and I haven’t stopped training with Austin since!

Thanks to Austin’s personalized programming, adaptability, and nutritional guidance, I’ve been able to attend even more BJJ classes, have had more success on the mats (thanks to his sport-specific programming), recover better, and am much stronger too! Occasionally, I do something silly at BJJ and end up with an injury. No problem for Austin! His adaptability and seemingly endless supply of problem solving enables us to easily shift from my normal program to recovery, getting me back on the mats faster than I ever could on my own.

I have been Austin’s client for more than two years now, and I can only say with the utmost sincerity that he is by far the most indulgent and knowledgeable coach I have had the privilege to work with. Abs and nutrition differs greatly from other fitness programs in state college because it is designed to the individual’s needs and personal health growth and goals, whether it’s training focused and nutrition focused and it does not get better than that.
