The dry sauna has been up and down for over 9 months, it's always off on the weekends. We've been told that something will be done by November, but kind of lost hope. Showers are still dirty and about half of them are out of the soap. The morning cleaning person chooses to ignore the dirt and pretty much watches TV.

We have a membership, and my 7-year-old child attends classes here. However, there are constant problems on Wednesdays — he is not allowed to enter with other members and has to wait until I arrive from the parking lot. Because of this, he ends up being late for his class.
It is very frustrating that, despite having a membership, my child faces these difficulties. I really hope AFC Fitness will treat families with more understanding and respect.

Honestly, the staff here are clueless and rude. I showed up to work out and the lady at the desk refused to let me in just because my cousin’s photo popped up on the screen. Instead of being helpful, she basically tried to force me into signing up. Then when she mentioned doing a one-time guest pass, she immediately switched up and said I “wasn’t allowed” because I was under 18. Make it make sense. I even called my mom, and while she was talking to her, this same lady had the nerve to say “Planet Fitness lets teenagers go to the gym for the whole summer for free”. So why was I being treated like I was sneaking in? The lack of professionalism and straight-up attitude is ridiculous.

Visiting the area, so I tried going here to get a guest pass for the week. Their tiny itty bitty little parking lot was completely full because they decided to wait until Monday morning, the busiest time of the week, to resurface HALF of it. Even worse, the entire building is surrounded by a large condo community with "no parking, residents only" signs, so I couldn't even park nearby and walk over. Very frustrating.

Seeing so many dishonest and whiney people leaving 1 star reviews compelled me to leave one myself.
I’ve been going to this facility for 15 years, even when it used to be called B&R. I’ve seen the gym go through many administrative changes and all types of renovations.
I’ve cancelled my membership throughout years, tried multiple different locations such as LA, Edge, Fusion… the list goes on and on, but I always find myself returning to this gym because to me it is simply irreplaceable.
I love the fact that the weight room is rarely crowded and I am always able to utilize the equipment I need for a proper timely workout. John the yoga instructor is always amazing, and for the very rare occasion that I decide to join, I always come out feeling sore in muscles I didn’t know existed.
I’ve never had a single item stolen from me from over a decade of using the locker room (knock on wood).
The facility is clean and well taken care of. It is very safe and family oriented.
Overall I would highly recommend this gym and will continue to come here for many years to come.

I would like to share my negative experience with this gym. I have been a member for 5 years. At first, I enjoyed coming here because it was the only place in Philadelphia with a decent 25-meter swimming pool.

However, over the past few years, things have gotten worse. In the evenings, the pool is almost always occupied by a children's swim team, making it impossible to swim after work.

The sauna in the men's locker room is regularly “under maintenance” — seemingly every six months. Right now, it's been closed for two months. I was told the heater is broken, supposedly because people pour water on the rocks. Interestingly, LA Fitness uses the exact same type of heater, and it works fine despite being used with water every evening. This makes me suspect the real issue is a desire to save on electricity costs.

But the most frustrating experience happened recently. My friends and I play volleyball once a week in the racquetball area. Out of four courts, two are designated for racquet sports and the other two are open for general use. Despite this, a manager came and demanded that we leave the court because someone wanted to play racquetball on that specific court. I pointed out that there are already two courts reserved for racquetball. Nevertheless, I was denied the opportunity to continue playing. Even worse, the manager told me it would be easier to cancel my membership than accommodate my request. So next month, I plan to cancel it.

The basketball court, by the way, is also constantly occupied by a volleyball team. In short, there are no proper conditions for recreational use of the facilities.

If you're considering getting a membership at this gym — think twice. LA Fitness offers a membership three times cheaper, the sauna is always working, there's always staff at the front desk, and the locker rooms are kept clean.

To the management of this facility: I suggest you make a decision — either start delivering the quality your customers expect, or honestly admit that client comfort is no longer a priority.
You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

This place is a complete scam. When I signed up for the membership, I was explicitly told it was month-to-month. I even chose the higher-priced option so I could cancel anytime if needed. Instead, they signed me up for a 6-month contract without my consent, and now they refuse to cancel it.

I was a member at Grant and have recently joined the Feasterville club. I love it! I have been working with Drew Timins and Jillian Foley and they are terrific. I like that Drew pushes me in my workouts with him and Jillian has great ideas on how to eat healthier but not feel deprived. The staff and teachers I have encountered are excellent too! I would highly recommend AFC Fitness!

The experience at this place has been extremely unpleasant. The staff members are consistently rude and show zero respect towards members, especially members with children. Obtaining reliable information about the pool operation plan has proven to be a challenging task. Accessing the pool is always a complicated process due to ongoing issues. When I politely requested that the class schedule be posted online in advance, the pool manager responded with aggressive yelling. Despite the existing schedule on the door, which I failed to notice, his behavior was both unbelievable and unacceptable. This incident left my kids shocked and scared. To make matters worse, there was a clear instance of discrimination against me. I never anticipated such a terrible experience for myself and my children.

I’ve been in this gym for about 5 years and I always liked it. The staff are super nice and welcoming to everybody. I have a good relationship with the management there is always a positive energy when I walk in this building. The personal trainers are amazing as well all really doing a great job and the gym is clean and well taken care off. I personally know Anthony who recently started working here and he’s making sure everything is good. Amanda is somebody I’ve known for couple years now and she helped my friend to sign up for this gym through the application and explained everything in details. The facility is clean. The employees are pleasant and helpful. I train bi-weekly with Bob Fisher. He is always pleasant and helpful. He shows particular knowledgeable interest in exercise philosophy and analytical anatomy. I am most impressed with his understanding physiological limits and willingness to adapt new techniques and methods to improve performance.
On the other hand, I am very disappointed with the facilities equipment. Much of the training equipment and in particular the men’s lockers are very much in need of improvement or replacement.

I have been going to AFC for quite a few years now. AFC has something for everyone… regardless of your age or interests. I love attending the group classes in the morning…my focus is on weight training and cardio. All of the instructors are amazing. They have wonderful, caring personalities, and they challenge us while adapting to our individual needs. While I come to the gym to work out, I have found that I’ve also made many new friends and acquaintances. The entire staff at AMC is amazing! They are so helpful and caring. I also want to give a shout out to the maintenance and housekeeping staff who work so hard to keep the AFC facility clean and sanitized. AFC is definitely a 5 Star full service facility!

This legacy gym needs some attention and real management. The cardio room is overrun with unsupervised children. The racquet club becomes playrooms for screaming pre-teenagers. The locker rooms are flooded and you can’t get into the steam room or sauna due to the fact that it’s full of men that don’t want to pay to use the Southampton Spa.
Many of the machines are old and in disrepair. The housekeeping staff is fighting a loosing battle against people who have ZERO gym etiquette.

The overall experience deserves 1 star. Initially I signed up with them because of close proximity to my home. The gym itself and the equipment is very old. The membership is very overpriced. The atmosphere is really depressing, the staff is making an effort to be polite, however they really don’t care about members. I had to put my membership on hold due to pregnancy complications and they took it off the hold after 6 months without notice and billed me monthly membership fee plus the anual fee. When I came to cancel my membership all I was told is they don’t have a policy that they should notify me of anything and that everything is in the contract that I signed when I became a member. I decided to just cancel and I lost all the money they charge for nothing. Just heads up in case you are thinking about signing up with them. Please find yourself a better gym.

I'm a member for the last 6 years and I always tried to understand all of their changes and attitudes and never complained, but today it was something unbelievable. The personal that they hired are rude and very disrespectful, especially CHARLIE (he doesn't even introduced himself, not badge no nothing, he just said I'm a Manager! later on I figured out that he is just a swiming pool manager). (I was not even notified for example 5 or 10 min before) because of a “private pool party”, he stated that it was a notification posted everywhere (website, walls etc.) but actually it was just 2 pieces of paper on a doors that it will be a private pool party on this day. So how I can know that this pool will be closed at this time except come and read this notice on a wall?!?! (anyway it's usually always all booked because of swim team) His statement regarding posts on a website or somewhere else its a LIE! On all my concerns he stated that my wife and I screaming on him and he doesn't care I'm a member or not, starting asking my first and last name and after I refused he stated that he will call a police and I will be kicked out and my contract will be terminated!!!! He doesn’t even wanted to listen to anything when I said that I will change and we will talk at the front desk! At the front desk he doesn't even showed up, the girl at the front desk confirmed that there is no any notifications on a website or social media that it will be a private pool party at that time, manager was absent because it is a weekend and this situation was not resolved!!! They are rising membership price for no reason, all equipment is old, changing room dirty, no swimming stuff(it was previously), no lifeguard on duty - swim at your own risk!! and personal talking to you like you a just “talking wallet” with no rights!! It's very disrespectful!!! You need to be more people oriented and maybe in this case you will have much better reviews for this location!!!! For people who will read this review till the end I can definitely recommend to think twice before becoming a member for this location and stay away from this place if you don’t want to be in this situation with your family!!!

Я не могу спокойно выйти из членства ( расторгнуть договор) . Не хочу ходить в этот центр. Но для этого требуют справку от врача, что мне противопоказано занятие физкультурой и штраф 100 $. Если бы осознавал с самого начала и прочитал договор, то ни когда бы , принициптально, не пошёл в этот фитнес центр !!!

the woman who is at the reception today on 08/08/2023 wearing glasses is terrible. When her shift, she swears with everyone, not friendly, I got into the car and went back for the children within 10 minutes. She says I should check in back. Because of her, my friends want to cancel this membership. Change her or let her know that she shouldn't behave this way.
