It sucks that the basketball courts, pool, and lockers are not available I know there was a fire sometime back but every time I ask or call they have no answer as to when these things will be up and running again and for the price it's just upsetting

There is a limit to what constitutes a YMCA…having exercise machines, mats and free weights does NOT even begin to live up to the YMCA reputation. Not having any locker room to change in and out of your gym attire doesn’t even make this a GYM! Rename it the Allentown DayCare facility. Poor management has led to this; it’s very sad to see what they did to an Allentown institution! Sadly, the other Lehigh Valley Y facilities are in such poor condition it leaves us giving up on the Y completely. Look elsewhere.

Do not take your kids here. They will keep them alive but your kids will NOT thrive. Daughter was there 4 months. Was victim of 3 incidents with other kids biting and hitting her in the 1st month. Ms Erin n ms Brenda were mean to my daughter. She cried every day for 4 months during drop off. Ms Pat is nice but needs to hire better staff. I called corporate in month 2 and crystal Messer said things should get better and they didn't. I ended up getting a free scholarship in oct and still pulled my daughter in nov because even free, that place is an entire hot mess. They fed my kid old dunkin donuts for over a month for snack after i asked for them to stop. Also no one ever knew what was going on during pick up. How they still get funding is crazy to me!

Poorly run organization. They don't live by the values they preach. Unprofessional, terrible communication. They took money out of my account without my authorization. I would never send my daughter to their camp again.

The Y-care after/before program offered at the elementary school. Absolutely terrible. No working phone and the director doesn’t respond to any emails, voicemails or phone calls. As a full time working parent, If you can help find better care elsewhere for your child.

This place has discriminated against mentally challenged people. They abuse the special needs during our visit I was told it’s not family day we shouldn’t be here and to leave, while trying to swim. When explained we were members they then waited for my special needs child to start swimming to tell me an aid must be in the water with her and we must leave . Now I’ve taken my child to this YMCA many times before and never have I had this issue mostly glares and stares. That day I felt my child was targeted, disrespected, and discriminated against. I’ve contacted corporate and the program specialist Mike, yet still no answers or proof of the policy stating my high functioning adult special needs child can’t swim without an aid anymore. This is ridiculous my child’s day was ruined because of unprofessional staff the pool supervisor and lifeguard on duty at the time had no compassion and looked disgusted with my child just for being present. I will not return and I will make sure this issue is addressed.

Called numerous times relating to a lifeguard recertification that they offer and did not receive any calls back when I left my number. Did this for about 2 weeks. Ended up causing me to not work at my lifeguarding job and getting a job late in the summer somewhere else.

I Had to Take my son out because every day for 4 months he was afraid to go to Prek . He’s been in childcare since he was 2 months and has NEVER said that a teacher was mean or has hit him ever . And He Always Kept Telling me that MS Pagna Was mean to him and pulled his hair . He hasn’t been there since November and he still comes up to me and tell me that .

I reported it . And the only thing they told me was that she’s been there for years and is a great teacher and that they will keep they’re eye on her. They also told me that maybe my son was telling me that because he didn’t want to “ learn” in school. And when they teacher would ask him a educational question he was get up set “ so they we’re basically telling me that my three-year-old child was mad and her for asking him a question and lied to me .

Even though one of their own teachers came up to me and told me herself that she sees Ms Pagna Mistreating children.

Anyway . My son is in a new center and has had no problems ever since and has been nothing but happy . Just thought I’d share to give parents an Idea of what this place is and how they react to what a child says . Children don’t lie !

I used to have my child in the YMCA PRE-K Counts program there. Well I ended up taking her out because there were students bullying her. The staff obviously didn't know how to handle it because it happened 3 times and then when I took her out because I requested to have a meeting with the other parents to discuss what was going on well they never called us back. They never reached out to see how my daughter was and / or if she was going to return back to school. I even went unexpectedly and the staff wouldn't come meet with me nor did I get a returned call. So now my daughter doesn't go to school because everywhere else has a waiting list and also she won't have a PRE-K graduation! Thank you YMCA for taking all my kids trust and stomping on it. She loved the staff and the kids and then when all this happened she didn't even want to return to school because she was so afraid. Imagine putting your kids through that and the YMCA doesn't even support your child in such a crucial time. This is why kids hurt themselves. But I pray to the lord that this instance doesnt affect her the rest of her life.

For the price you cannot find a better facility. This YMCA offers a lot of ways to keep up on your physical and mental health.

I have to give it 3 stars because they seem to close their pools for "storms" very quickly. An indoor pool shouldn't even close at all let alone close before all of the outdoor pools near Allentown. Precaution is one thing but i think it most likely resonates from a lazy pool staff

If there was a zero, I would have given this YMCA that rating. This YMCA has been the worst. Staff doesn't seem to know anything when you ask them questions. Many times I've left a voicemail to sign my child up for activities and have not received a call back. Staff is also super rude and disorganized.

Ray is our hero. He provided great bilingual customer service. He always had a friendly charasmatic demeanors and the brightest smile that always lighten up my cloudiest of days. It was sad to discover he nor Jason were no longer at The Welcome Center. Lucky for us the new team also had some talent But they were no match to the Just Jason or Ravishing Ray thank you both for your unmatched service.

evening staff. samira and another red head weren’t friendly nor helpful. came to ask about a membership and samira preferred to put white out on some calendar than assist me and even walked away from me to the other side of the desk to continue her white out project. you’d think they’d be more helpful being as though the start up cost exceeds the price of joining much nicer facilities however i just wanted to swim. i’ll just swim at five star but i definitely didn’t appreciate being treated as such

Just started here recently and I absolutely love it. I used to go to a Y in NJ and thought that was fantastic but THIS PLACE IS HUGE! I find myself stopping to ask people "where is this place?" But everyone, staff and other patrons are always so friendly and willing to help. There are three different workout rooms in addition to the giant room for the classes and the pool. Love it here.
