I wanted to build my strength and fitness level now that I am retired. A very important factor for me was to know what exercises to do, and to understand how to do each correctly so as to not cause injury. My Strength Coach, Sarah Showalter, was perfect. Jess and Alliance Fitness have changed my life! Her 6am strength class is the only workout I have stuck with over time. I’m known for trying something for a few weeks and then abandoning it. But I have stuck with strength class for almost a year (I think) and I love it! Jess is so supportive! She creates an environment that is empowering and feels safe. Coming out of a long term injury the trainers at AFC knew exactly how to handle and get me through each step of returning to play. While maintaining a safe environment they also pushed me knowing I could do so much more after getting over the mental hump. Currently working with my trainer, it is clear he cares about each athlete he works with and not just how they perform in the gym. The trainers make it a priority to make a connection with their client and always try and go support their local athlete. My trainer always motivates me to do more and motivates me to keep my body healthy. I am thankful for the whole AFC team and all their help and support!

Prior to joining AFC, I belonged to the same gym for 20 years, so I was worried if I would be able to find another gym that would be a good fit for me. AFC was exactly what I was searching for when I started strength training 2 years ago. The group fitness classes are the highlight for me! They are always high-energy and engaging, making workouts not only effective but also a lot of fun. The instructors are supportive and motivating which has kept me committed to taking 3-4 classes per week.

What I appreciate most is the sense of community. The staff and members are encouraging and friendly, creating a positive environment where everyone feels comfortable.

I’ve been working out at AFC now for the last 3 years and I am extremely happy with my results thus far! The first two years I had the pleasure of working with Sarah Showalter, and due to scheduling changes, started training with Cody Schmidt. I increased my strength and stamina working with Sarah despite having a few health setbacks those first two years, but over this past year, I have again noticed a remarkable incremental change in how my body feels while training with Cody, who is also a Yogi. For a while I had a lot of pain from a compression fracture and broken ankle, however after learning from Cody some additional stretches and techniques to warm up, I am now pain free. Cody takes the time to research my conditions to recommend a regimen that keeps me safe during a workout, but also challenges me to continuously be able to improve my strength training week after week. I have noticed I have much better balance, I am much stronger, and I have lost some stubborn inches through specifically targeted excersizes the he plans for me. I can honestly say I feel 20 years younger than I did before working out with Cody!!

I signed up for a series of classes geared towards runners. I have never been a weights person and I ended up loving it! Sarah was amazing. Even though there were multiple people in the class, the attention she gave to each individual ensured everyone got their own personal experience to push themselves. It was great! The Class:
I recently completed an 8 week strength training class, which focused specifically on strength building for runners. The class was designed perfectly, with a great balance of intensity and variety. This variety not only made the workouts enjoyable but also ensured a well-rounded strength development. We worked on different muscle groups, incorporated various training techniques, and kept things fresh and engaging throughout the eight weeks.

The Coach:
Coach Sarah's expertise and passion for fitness and running were evident. As runners, we often struggle with injuries to some degree and she made sure to check in with us each week and gave us modifications for workouts as needed. Whether it was perfecting my form or pushing me to lift heavier, she was always there with the right guidance and encouragement.

The Final Thoughts:
If you're looking to add strength training to your life but don't know where to start, I suggest a program like this. Alliance Fitness Center is a clean facility with friendly, encouraging and knowledgeable staff.

Love this place! This is the first time in my life that I ever stuck to an exercise/strength building program and actually enjoy it.

I’ve been working with Faith for 8 months for nutrition and personal training. Through 1 on 1 meetings, Faith has proven she understands my goals. She has held me accountable when needed and is available any time I need assistance or motivation! I've been training here with Nate since July, and I've had so much fun while getting stronger. If you train with Nate, you may even learn some new recipes as he's a big foodie.

Perspective is key! In the AFC group classes, I always wondered why we did a lot of what I would call "functional movements." And when I injured my knee and realized I had to balance and rely on my other leg - I could not have been more thankful for the way these classes are formatted. I felt strong enough to take on my injury with little disruption to my daily activities (like putting on my shoes or walking up the stairs) because of the type of training AFC provides. They take a 360 degree approach to fitness and I am thankful I signed up as a group member.

I would like to commend Collin McGee. I had a consultation appointment with him on April 28th at 6pm. Collin was VERY thorough in his investigation of my running injury. Excellent evaluation. He knew exactly what was wrong after that and gave me detailed exercises WITH instruction on how to do them properly to address my specific problem. I have never had anyone show me exactly what to do for my specific injury. His assistance was SO appreciated!!! You have no idea. I've been to doctors, chiropractors, physical therapists and no one gave me exactly what I needed. Collin McGee did! It was the best $200 I ever spent. I look forward to a follow-up evaluation at a later date.

I’ve been a member of Alliance Fitness center for years. I love the “community” feel of this facility. It’s small, clean, and everyone is very friendly… even the other members. The membership is just one of the aspects that makes this experience different - it’s a combination of professionals and athletes. No steroid heads here! The staff is unbelievably highly qualified from exercise physiologists to health coaches. They are an amazing group of professionals. I have scoliosis and some other physical health limitations. The care they provided me from the initial consultation and evaluation to the individualized program to accommodate my limitations while improving my range of motion and strength has changed my life. I work with a trainer twice a week and, in doing so, have seen such improvement that it’s changed my life. I’m not exaggerating. I no longer wake up and endure the day with back pain. (And understand that I’m married to a chiropractor. But if you don’t do the work to support musculoskeletal structure, you won’t improve.) I’m much more flexible and I’m able to enjoy more activities without “paying for it” afterwards. AFC is a blessing for me. I can’t imagine my life without this amazing group of people. They have created a warm and welcoming environment here that I so thoroughly enjoy.

I've been a part of many gym's in the past, and I have never received the individualized attention and support that I receive from the staff and trainers at AFC. All of the group fitness classes make you feel like the trainer is working with you individually. They are supportive towards your goals and try to push you to be stronger than you thought you could be.

I love this place! For years I was afraid of the gym. I tried PF and a couple others with friends but was always so nervous about all the people and I had NO idea how to use the equipment.
I started at AFC almost 2 years ago with an InBody challenge. They offered beginners classes where they broke down different exercises and went at a nice pace for someone, like me, who was completely new to the gym space and exercising.
Every single trainer and staff person who works there is super nice, welcoming, helpful, and encouraging! I was able to get into a nice routine with classes and, for the first time in my life, was able to get into an exercise routine.
They handled COVID so well and still offered Zoom classes which were nice to do at home without having any equipment.
I started training with Faith Elliot a couple weeks ago and it was the best decision I’ve made!
You won’t regret giving it a shot!
