Staff is very rude!!! We will never be returning!!! I had 4 sons in there for about a year we put a hold on our account for the holidays. My youngest (6yr) was invited back for buddy day during that time frame…to walk in and be turned down and told he cannot participate with his friend bc he is a former student. I was unaware that was a policy!! when asked if he could just participate this one time bc we didn’t know we were told no my six-year-old was heart broken he just wanted to do karate with his friend! Very rude to make things all about money shouldn’t it be about the experience and shaping young minds?!?

The best place for child growth in South Philly! Maybe sounds a bit over the top, but I kid you not.

My son has been there for over four years. He’s not always the easiest kid to manage, but Jason, Croseilles and the rest of the Senseis at Amerikick have a special, patient way with kids, even the ones that are harder to corral. It’s a natural gift they have, and my family feels lucky to have benefited from it.

My son of 13 loves this place! Amerikick Karate is a a super awesome place! full of positive energy. They have a great stage and the teachers are really good! I mean the kids learn fast! Amerikick Karate is a great place to learn how to defend yourself. They are very Professional and energetic. I came here in 2011 when I was 11 years old and I just wanted to share that Jason helmer is one of the best Instructors in the amerikick organization. He will push you till you are at your very best. When I tested for my black belt it was very easy because of Jason he made his own test at the South Philly Amerikick and he make it more intense then the actually test itself. The school itself is like a family there especially when special events are going on such as Glowfun Night, Summercamp, Dodge Ball day, Demo Team pratice, and much more. I also highly advise to go to tournaments as well because it can build your confidence by a lot, win or lose you will alway get a medal or trophy depending on the tournament. Not to mentions we have one of the highest win streak in the amerikick organization. I will highly recommend this place for someone who want to build there confidence and increase there knowledge because the lesson you learn in that building is for life.

Lessons that lasted me a lifetime, both in karate and for relationships. The staff and instructors are extremely welcoming and earnest in trying to understand how best to teach you or your children the curriculum based on your interests! My son trained under the Leadership of Owner Jason Helmer. I was blessed to have found AmerKick, they changed his life. This is an awesome studio with EXCELLENT instructors. It was worth every bit of money and time. I have seen young boys transform into great young men from their training and studying through Amerikick. Young girls learned not only self defense but mind control and better patience.

I attended Amerikick South Philly for over a decade and would still be attending if not for me leaving Philadelphia. Amerikick taught me not only karate but the life lessons that I use on a daily basis! All the Sensai is great with the kids. My daughter ❤ it. When I first brought her to class, she was having a mini meltdown but I knew at heart she will fit right in and of course the next time she showed up, she loved it. Everyday she asked is it time to go to Karate. Love that they have specialty week where they can "Bring A Buddy" or "Parent Participation". My daughter loves when I get to participate. Definitely recommend checking them out and signing up your children or even yourself.

I can't say enough great things about AKSP! The Sensei's are absolutely amazing! My son JM has thrived here & so has all of the Karate Kids! A few of JMs classmates have learning/behavioral disabilities and the work and patience of all the Sensaei's amazes me every time! This karate school has been around for awhile and is now under its 2nd owner. The price is right however There are more play days than actual karate learning days during the week but I guess if you're paying for unlimited classes that will be OK with you.

Learning self defense was always intimidating to me at other schools. The instructors here are friendly and their expertise shines through. They teach in a way that makes the moves seem realistic if I needed to apply them in real life. The training drills have really helped my flexibility and execution of the moves. I have also lost a few pounds from going to the classes. The classes are just hard enough to break a sweat but not terribly difficult at the white belt classes. I feel myself getting better instead of getting flustered like at my previous dojo. These guys are also great with kids. They really kick butt. :)

Its a great karate school,at the first time there i was really shy,but when i got to make friends,and get to know others more i got really comfortable there,and i have been going there for four years so far and i am now a red belt and soon about to test for black.They just don't do karate they also have days where we play games for an hour witch is totally fun,also they have summer camps so u can practice more and play games and get an extra stripe on your belt witch is also really fun,and awesome to go to.So if your looking for a karate school for your child,teen,or your self to go to then you should go to South Philly Amerikick,trust me its a cool karate school
