My daughter is in her first year of gymnastics here and I can’t thank this place enough for working with her and helping her overcome her fears each practice. Her coaches Gianna and Ava are wonderful and extremely kind, and Jen who helped get her into a class that better suited her! Definitely a positive experience at this establishment!

The teachers are very kind and patient with the kids and our kids love their classes. The station structure really helps them focus and not get bored. Parents are able to watch which is nice too!

My daughter has been going to berks east for 8 years and in the past she has been scared to do skills but her coach helps her through it and at the end she is so happy and proud of herself. Cindy has been so supportive and my daughter is happy to be in the gym with all her friends and if she is stuck on a skill her coach tells her she can do anything she puts her mind to.

We have been to a few gymnastics locations in the area after we moved a year ago. Very happy that we found this location. The coaches are great and the classes are well structured. Compared to other locations we went to, the facility is very clean. They work on listening skills and how to make things safe for everyone. This was a big plus for my two girls because we left another gym due to constant rough housing of other classmates.

I signed my six year old daughter up for a free trial beginner class and it just didn’t turn out to be what I thought it would. When we arrived, I was given a name tag with my daughter’s name on it and told to line her up in her appropriate class. She was the only child having a trial class at the time, and neither instructor introduced themselves to my daughter, which I thought a little odd. They then started having the children do different exercises by calling them out. This was my daughter’s first experience in a gymnastics setting, so she had no idea how to appropriately do each movement. Instead of showing her how to do moves correctly, they tried telling her, which seemed to confuse and embarrass my daughter, since she didn’t understand exactly what the instructors wanted her to do. We made it 15 minutes into the class until she came up to me crying and asking to go home. I am in no way trying to be a “Karen” with this review, I know many people are happy with this business and from the reviews I thought we would be too, I am just sharing mine and my daughter’s experience.

Berks East is a great gymnastics school. Our child has greatly enjoyed the individual attention and family atmosphere. They’re active in seeing your child grow in gymnastics and even more so, grow and find out how to do new things in life.

We highly recommend the gym.

We would highly recommend Berks East Gymnastics to anyone interested in the sport. Our daughter was a part of the Berks East family for 11 years and recently retired from the sport after her high school graduation. During her time at Berks East, she trained with very dedicated coaches who worked with her at whatever level she was at. They were fair in the way they assessed her abilities and advanced her when it was time and worked harder when improvements were needed. They helped her through the highs and the lows and continued to keep her focused on her next set of goals. Gymnastics is more than athletics. This sport and her coaches have been instrumental in teaching her self confidence, perseverance, structure, discipline and teamwork which she will carry with her throughout life. In addition to being a member of the competition team, my daughter was also given the opportunity to coach young gymnasts at Berks East. She was given all of the training needed to get her started and they continue to provide ongoing training to be a coach and good role model for young gymnasts. Our experience with the Berks East Gymnastics was excellent and a tremendous stepping stone into her future of a college student pursuing health and physical education.

I can't say enough good things about Berks East. My daughter has been going there since she has been 3 years old and it has been like a second home to her in more ways than one. She is currently 14 years old and a competitive Level 9 gymnast with a very bright future in the sport. I am so thankful for the knowledge of the coaches and their commitment to these young athletes.

We would highly recommend Berks East Gymnastics to any family. Berks East has taught our daughter the importance of hard work, dedication, time management and the team work. She has been a part of the Berks East family for most of her childhood (12+ years) and has had the opportunity to train with dedicated coaches who have allowed her to work at her own pace and set her own personal goals. The coaches know and respect her strengths as well as her weaknesses and have helped her overcome many obstacles throughout her gymnastics career. She has become a confident and hardworking person in so many aspects of her life and gymnastics and her coaches have been instrumental in helping her develop these skills. Berks East has a place for everyone from top level gymnasts to beginners just starting out. Every child is welcome and the coaches have created a family environment where gymnasts can excel and have fun at the same time.

I would highly recommend Berks East Gymnastics to any parent who is interested in signing their child up for gymnastics. My twins started in 2007 at the age of 3 and my youngest daughter started in 2008. Although the twins started the same year they were moved up according to their skill level. What impressed me was the knowledge of the growing body. They will introduce skills to the gymnast when the gymnast is ready for it as to minimize stress and injury. My girls are now practicing level 8, level 7, and level 5. The financial aspect is difficult when you have 3 girls on team. However, I have never been questioned by the owner if I fell behind. He is very understanding with my situation. My twins also have recent diagnoses which require monitoring and medication. The coaches have been on top of their issues and contact me when necessary. The coaches, gymnasts, and gymnast’s family have become family to us. During the school year Coach Amy offered to come to my house to get the girls up, ready and off to school because my husband and I leave for work before they get up.
Each level requires a certain amount of hours a week. At most, the optional level gymnasts practice 16 hours per week. This allows the girls to concentrate on homework, family and still be competitive with the other gyms. My daughter was on Excel Platinum this year (2015-2016) which took first place in the state.
The owner of the gym also offers the older girls employment opportunity at the gym. The girls must be a certain age and team level in order to possess the skills needed for employment. The gym not only gives the girls the training and skills to compete at the college level but also related work experience to add to their college application. I am shocked to read the parents complain about the young coaches. If they understood the qualifications and dedication these girls posses they would want the same opportunities for their daughters as they came of age. This gym not only offers opportunity now but helps prepare them for the future.
Berks East, like every other gym, has different and sometimes opposing personalities, ideas and opinions. However, I have learned, through my own experiences, if you keep the lines of communication open the coaches will work with you to make sure your child has the most successful gymnastics career.
