I rate Craig a 10+ out of 10+.

Craig has extensive experience in physical training. He emphasizes form and shows how to get a little extra out of each exercise by a little movement or at a different angle. It’s fun working out with Craig because I learn something different each time. Craig is an excellent coach always encouraging me and providing positive, helpful feedback.

Reasons why I use a trainer:
I have someone to spot me when using free weights
I have someone to make sure I use the proper form
I have someone that has a routine to work on specific muscle groups
I have someone who changes my routine up
I have someone who works on my strengths and also my weaknesses
I have to make an appointment which overcomes my excuses

Without a trainer, I would do the same exercises every day and wouldn’t see the progress I am now experiencing.

Do not enter a contract with these people! They will tell you you have 3 days to get out of the contract and then give you the run around until those days are up. Then tell you it's $250 to get out of the contract. When you produce a letter (required) and the $250 they change the story AGAIN! Now it's more money. You have to work around their schedule, so if you have a job, forget it it. They make demands on you, as if they are paying you. If you ask fir a specific activity, they put you off or refuse. All around poor service extremely overpriced! Just don't do it!

At the end of 2022, I lost a close family member. It was a rough start to 2023 and I gained around 25 pounds that year. He has a more relaxed energy that was a perfect fit to balance my anxiety and has created workouts that are fun and challenging but not stressful. Although I have done on and off resistance training, this type of training was for the most part a chore for me and not the first form of fitness to go to. However, my trainer, Torin West, changed all of that, so much so that as soon as my first contract ended, I signed up doubling my weekly sessions with Torin. His training style is filled with passion for his craft, enthusiasm and encouragement, attention to my individual needs, and determination and commitment to see to it that I improve and reach my goal and at the same time enjoy what I am doing. He is very knowledgeable and uses this knowledge to tweak the program constantly and carefully for better results. He always places a gentle pressure on me to push myself to the next level and this is something I really appreciate, and I love being encouraged the way he does it. Torin is committed to being a trainer and gives all he got while on the job. He really works from his heart, and it shows as I feel his happiness as he sees my progress, and this in turn energizes and encourages me to do more. Being a trainer for Torin is not a job but a "calling". I never thought I will be so excited doing resistance training, but Torin made the seemingly impossible, possible. Thank you, Torin.

I have seen improvement over the past few months, as exercises I struggled with to begin have now become easier to complete. I have also began to see more definition in my arms and legs, as well as completed exercises I myself did not believe I was capable of, but I was! Any issues with scheduling that came up were immediately taken care of. Sessions are a bit pricey, but it has been worth it. Group training sessions are also available.

I have always recognized the importance of strength training, however I also realize that I don’t know everything. There are times when you need to shake it up to see better results. After seeing my current level of fitness plateau, I embarked on an ambitious one-year program with Nate at the Hummelstown PA Fitness. This turned out to be one of the better decisions I have made regarding my training and fitness goals. I look forward to our weekly sessions and being introduced to new exercises or variations of exercises I was aware of but didn’t maximize them for the full effect. The results have exceeded my expectations. Almost weekly, the weights on the bars increase and I can tell I’m feeling stronger and can notice changes in my body. And I have heard from a number of people who I have run into after not seeing them for a while and having them comment on how I look different (and hopefully better). Nate keep challenging you and provides great encouragement along the way. I’m no longer in a training rut and each workout is fresh and I’m enthused for each session. A side benefit is that my work entails physical labor and while I do get tired, I have noticed I bounce back quicker than I use to. This has been an unexpected bonus to this program. I would encourage anyone, regardless of age or their current physical fitness level, to work with Nate and you might be surprised at the results you will see.

Omggggg!! Where do I start with my Trainer, Adam? Simply put…HARDWORKING!! It makes every single session a WORK!!! The dedication and hard work is displayed in the progress I’ve made this far. I’ve been with compel in the past under Gold’s (different set of Trainers) and the experience was less than pleasant and rewarding. Luckily for everyone, I decided to try again. I remember telling Adam “I got this!” He replied “Yeah we will have a love-hate relationship” and in a nutshell that is exactly what it is!! Each and every other day we fight but we fight DIRTY ON THE WEIGHT FLOOR! They’re times when I just want to drop the dumbbell and walk away but Adam keeps me focused on my initial goal…FITNESS!! It’s so much easier to forget the goal long after the easy work is done, Adam reminds me of why we started and what my ultimate goal is. Professionalism has never been short changed with our sessions. I’m pleased (shhh don’t tell him) with his mannerisms and professional approach in our journey to fitness! Thanks Compel 💪🏾

I would like to give the awesome Compel trainers at PA Fitness in Hershey a huge shout/out, especially Logan! I joined Compel this past January and since I’ve lost inches and decreased my body fat %. All of the trainers have pushed me to be the best version of myself and encouraged me to go heavier in all my lifts.
If you are new to lifting or looking to change up your workout, I highly recommend meeting with a compel trainer! The trainers hold you accountable and help you create/reach your personal goals.

BLUF: This company is wholly focused on separating you from your money. Any other services you receive are purely coincidental.

I signed on in March of 2021 after renewing a gym membership for the first time in years. Both myself and my fiancée decided to to sign on for a single session a month, as that is what our budget could afford.

Fast forward to Friday 6 August 2021, a friend and co-worker was involved in a car accident on his way to work. He was left with minor injuries, and his vehicle was totaled. He is the sole financial provider for his wife and their 8-month-old daughter. I made the decision that since I was the closest to his home, I would take up the responsibility of carpooling him to and from our workplace. On my way home with him from work on 12 August I stopped in the Hershey facility to explain that due to this commitment and the additional travel time it entailed, I would like to cancel my contract.

During the roughly fifteen-minute meeting I was chastised for deciding to be my friend's "personal driver” and told I should quote "tell my buddy to take an Uber". It was during this interaction that I was informed for the first time that there was a minimum $250 fee associated with closing an account. The fee were not disclosed initially because “people usually don’t quit”.

After opening a complaint with Compel's customer service department I was told that the staff operated according to company policy, and initially withholding information regarding cancellation costs is standard operating procedure. There is a 3-day window in which you can read their 10-page agreement and choose to back out without additional costs. The single item in that contact that is not discussed during setup meetings is cancellation.

The bottom line is Compel Fitness doesn't have to treat their customers well, because they get paid either way. Customer retention doesn't have to be factored into the business model. There's always a fresh supply of people to lure in with an enticing free meeting. Always money to be made off of unsuspecting customers just looking to better themselves. If they decide they are unsatisfied and leave, that makes money too! Over a 5-month contract with Compel Fitness, I have completed 3 sessions, been mocked and embarrassed by the staff, and been subjected to over $500 worth of sign-on, session, and cancellation fees. That is just my account! My fiancée has experienced the same. To say I am wholly unsatisfied with my experience is putting it nicely.

I’ve been training at Golds Gym since September and I have seen tremendous progress in my strength training and physique. All the trainers at this golds gym are amazing, they definitely know what they’re doing, they are very educated. I have been wanting to get In shape and lose the weight I put on from my twin pregnancy for a long time but didn’t even know where to start. I’ve always had problems with consistency and motivation. Compel Fitness gave me a fitness and meal plan, while holding me accountable. I am finally seeing lasting results and creating better habits. Golds gym gives them your contact information without permission. They text you about free fitness assessment, which is a 30 minute high pressure sales pitch. If you want a personal trainer best to shop around. They charge $45 a session which adds up fast. Others In the area are less.

Compel Fitness is a great place to exercise. It is clean and has a variety of equipment for what ever type of fitness you want to do. I first spoke with Skyler, explaining to her as a retiree, maintaining body health was my goal. She suggested Jen be my trainer. Jen has been great. She knew exactly what fitness exercises/machines would work the proper muscles to achieve and maintain my goal.

I have had great experience with Compel Fitness. My trainer John Drop has been wonderful. I joined mainly due to wanting to learn the correct way to lift. Started slowly in January and by February I was wanting to be in the gym everyday by seeing John about once or two new weeks to learn new exercises and push me to try heavier weights. When we started they had a good manager and assigned us to a great trainer that we liked. Those two key people left, our new trainer was not personable and it was difficult to schedule sessions because he would not return text messages. I left a message for him to set up an appointment which I subsequently found out he did not receive because he was going to be fired or quit, not sure which. At that point I decided to cancel the service and submitted a letter and a check for the 15% cancellation fee. Several days later my credit card was charged the cancellation fee. When I asked about the check tonight, I was told that it was ripped up. This is Not Acceptable. If a check could not be accepted it should have been refused when it was presented. If the manager found out later that was the case she should have voided the check and returned it to us. As it stands we are going to have to pay for a stop payment order on the check because of the poor manner in which she handled this transaction. I am done doing business with Compel Fitness.
