I signed up for Crunch’s *Perks Program* in late 2023 after years of trying to contact them with emails that constantly bounced back. From the start, I was double-charged, and although it was eventually refunded, the real issue was the lack of communication and support.

In January 2024 I notified the manager that my ad wasn’t running and out-of-market ads were playing instead. He said he’d reach out to corporate, but I never heard back. I followed up multiple times in July—another email bounced—and still no response.

After nearly **two years** of trying to cancel and get answers, all they offered was two months of credits. Upper management avoided the issue entirely, and I wasn’t contacted until recently by a VP who said he couldn’t help because it “predated him.”

The local Crunch staff was great, but the company that owns and manages this location (Fitness Holdings / RLB Holdings) showed **zero accountability**. They’re quick to take your money, slow to answer, and the Perks ads were mostly irrelevant filler.

Overall, a waste of time and money. I loved the gym, but the Perks Program and corporate response were extremely disappointing.
Current person who is handling the perks program did try to help but fed me a bunch of crock their upper management told her to. Not her fault but the months and months previously were blantantly ignored and they are trying to wipe themselves of the responsibility but didn't care to take the money and ignore repeated attempts at initially fixing the lack ads and out of market issues. I wanted this to work as I supported this location and referred many here it's a shame it didn't work out but now I'm the one who paid out of pocket and they don't care.

So far been loving this location. I go in the morning and it's never too packed. I always get the workout in that I plan on doing. All the staff are great. Mark is a great trainer as well I've talked to plenty of times and he's very knowledgeable

Front desk staff are always approachable. Bill always says good morning and asks how people are doing. The gym itself is what you would expect for most commercial gyms. Not giving 5 stars because of the time it sometimes takes to fix the machines but other than that a solid gym.

This is a good place to workout! There is plenty of equipment and classes for your workout or fitness goals. Bill, a staff member, is always helpful and a pleasure to speak with whenever I visit. I’ve been going to Crunch Lancaster since it opened, and I’ve always gone first thing in the morning before work. Over the years, the morning staff has been pretty inconsistent — but since Bill arrived, everything has changed for the better.

Mark is hands-down the best trainer at Crunch Fitness in Lancaster PA. Always on time, high energy, pays attention to form, and makes every session worth it. Really pushes you to get the most out of your workout in a safe effective way. I’ve been training with him for about a month now and feel great. Starting to see some results already. He’s even helped me adjust my diet and suggested healthy food options for me to try. Also very easy to talk to and super down-to-earth.

Bonus: I would highly recommend Crunch Fitness for anyone from beginners to experienced lifters. The facility is fantastic and has everything you could want in a gym. The vibe is super welcoming and never intimidating. All the staff members are super nice as well.

Went to this gym for the first time and I was impressed. First the gym has a variety of equipment to get a good workout in. The gym and locker room (at least the mens) is clean, and all the equipment is in good condition. The staff was very friendly and helpful especially Catrina as she noticed me wondering around trying to figure out where everything is and gave me a run down of what equipment is where and where all the amenities are located at because it's a pretty good sized gym. Definitely an upgrade to my old gym.

I’ve been a member at Crunch Fitness Lancaster for a while, and recently I’ve noticed a lot of positive changes—especially with the staff. I had never tried personal training before and was honestly hesitant, but in October I decided to give it a shot. I could not be happier with that decision.

Mark is my personal trainer, and he has a wealth of knowledge that instantly made me feel comfortable. He put me on a solid, no-nonsense training program that’s both attainable and pushes me to my max every single day.

If you want to be challenged and see results fast, ask for Mark. He’s a kick‑ass trainer who truly knows how to get the best out of you.

I was using a personal trainer for almost a year with no issues. She was fired and a month of fees were not refunded. Several emails sent and no response. No BBB connection because of poor business practices. Don't sign up for extras that you might needed refunded because they don't have any professional practices. Very sad!

I had an amazing experience thanks to Damont who provided outstanding customer service from start to finish. He was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain different workout equipment and how each machine could help me target my specific weight goals.

He didn’t just show me the machines—he made sure I understood how to use them correctly and why they would benefit my body. He also explained the importance of overall health in a way that was motivating and easy to understand. His patience, clarity, and genuine passion for fitness really stood out.

I stopped here while traveling on a work trip. The gym was fine, but they took my driver's license when I bought the day pass. I forgot to get it back before I left and didnt realize I left it there until a week later when I was back home. I live 4 hours from this location. Since you can't contact the actual gym employees at Crunch, I had to get an employee of a next door business to walk over and ask them to mail me my license back. They refused, even though it is free to drop it into a mailbox anywhere. I tried contacting management and corporate with no answers or replies. What a terrible business.

Crunch LOST the medicare review. I suggest just canceling your bank card so they can not withdraw $ and report Crunch collection tactics to the PA Consumet Protection Agency. Don't trust them!!!!
Crunch charged my Medicare Advantage plan AND set up a private pay account where I am getting threatening collections calls. Don't put up with them.
Medicare is investigating my claim against Crunch. They are being investigated by Medicare also. Highmark is also cooperating with Medicare about these Crunch charges. Filthy gym!!

Update 9/2/25:

I received a text from a collections agency stating I owed two months of club membership fees?!?! This is ridiculous. I was told in May I did not have an active account and would not be billed. I have reported this franchise to the BBB and FTC. The automated response from the "owner" is laughable.

"We're sorry to hear about your experience with our membership cancellation process. We appreciate your feedback and take all input into consideration as we continue to refine and improve our services."

Instead of appreciating people's "feedback" why doesn't the owner actually do their job and not charge people fees when they are NOT members????

Do not sign up here! I cancelled my membership online and over the phone. Cancellation process is horrible. I was double charged for the annual fee. I spoke to Collin who said he would talk to Sean about refunding me, never get a call or text back. I called on 4/15, 4/16, 4/29 and 5/6. Nothing. I will be contacting corporate and the attorney general to get my money back.

Desceptive Cancellation Process and Lies.
They lie, they have a fake automatic system, which clearly confirms, your account was canceled, we are very sorry to let you go!
They are srill charging my bank without my authorization.

This is a scammy and full of lies gym.
I signed up with a promotion for 1 month free at Crunch, 2 weeks later I decided to call to cancel before the 30 days limit to make sure no anual fee is paid. They never answer calls and their automated system to handle cancelations and trick you, I and received confirmation that my accounts were fully canceled. Despite that, I was charged nearly $100 after the cancellation. I was unable to reach a human by phone. When I visited in person, I was told my account was still active, despite the automated cancellation and robots used to avoid by them responsabilities. Now with about 35 days after my subscription I am being told I must pay an additional $110 to cancel my acvount and same amount for my wife account. something that should never have been charged.

No they give me a phone to call withich is a call center from India, I will have to dispute the charges with my bank, filing a complaint with the BBB and FTC.

When this gym first opened it was so great. The classes were so much fun, the equipment & mats were up-kept. But when returning back towards the end of 2024 it was such a disaster. It was unfortunately very dirty, mats used for classes were broken, instructor for a class was 10 minutes late and had no energy at all to lead the class. It was almost nearly impossible to find anything to clean the equipments while workers stood behind the desks not doing much. It was such a disappointment of how the owners have let this gym go. Why not invest in keeping your gym clean, updated, replacing equipments when needed, and hiring staff that love their jobs.

A coworker recommended I get a membership here because I was dissatisfied with Planet Fitness and was looking for better amenities. During my tour I was pleased at what Crunch had to offer. However, this quickly changed. Lately I've noticed (and many other reviewers say the same) broken equipment, the women's sauna is out of order, broken lockers, and paper towel dispensers not stocked. This has been going on for several weeks now. I'm downgrading my membership plan because it's a rip off to be paying for a facility that isn't maintaining their equipment. Please address these issues!

I sent an email to management regarding the women's sauna being broken and asked for an ETA on it being fixed. I never received a response. Also, after continued visits to this gym I noticed little to no improvements on the other issues I mentioned. I cancelled my membership and I'm going back to my previous gym.

Leaving a second review 4 months ago I left a review about how horrible the trainers are (Shannon) you’ll tell them you want to do a month and she will tell you that’s what you’re getting but submit for a year plan I’ve been trying to cancel my membership for 5 months I’m $600 in and somehow Its still not canceled and they continue to try to charge me I tried reaching out again 2 months ago and was given the run around because the people at the desk admitted they didn’t see why I was charged an extra $135 for no reason and was told to speak to the building manager they gave my phone number and said that he knows exactly about my situation and he would give me a call after his meeting somehow to this day I still have not received any calls from him if anything what changed was not when I call in it’s not answered and goes to a line like I’ve been blacklisted from crunch so I went in and was told to call the cancelation number for a refund from the desk and the cancellation people said that they don’t do that and demanded I pay another $200 to cancel a membership I called in and canceled and paid for 4 months ago they told me to call the store back again and for them to figure it out but yet again nothing from the store bc they don’t answer the phones for me but after looking at the reviews they are stealing so many people’s money that it’s tempting to get a lawyer and talk with the other people and sue the own since he acknowledges these reviews yet doesn’t do anything about it found out from the reviews that someone named Sean is the manager nice to know also part of my membership mentioned about me getting a free shirt and I never got that because they don’t stock up on it so they breached the contract from the start of my membership if anyone wants to join me in going after this please reach out to my email so we can pursue

Yikes this place is dirty. Water fountain has been clogged for over a week. The water is nice and cloudy at this point. It’s probably not too noticeable from the front desk so if you guys ever venture out from behind there you would see it. Broken machine after broken machine. No paper towels and the dispenser's are broke. Plates just laying all over the floor and never put back. Soap dispensers broke for months. If you do respond please tell me what exactly I’m paying for please.

Crunch Lancaster has been nothing but a SCAM! If I could leave a review with zero stars I would! For over 2 years I’ve been getting charged for childcare when I tried to get the child care removed! For 2 years! I have been given the run around from the manager Sean and Asst manager Collin! I am owed $340 and still have not received my refund! They don’t even have childcare as of February of last year! Sean hides and acts as if he’s in meetings, him and Collin tell the staff Emily and Ethan they’re not working or available so there’s never anyone to speak with. I spoke with ABC billing and they told me themselves only the site manager can give refunds meanwhile Sean says it has to be refunded by Kev the regional manager! Do not sign up with these ppl! They are scammers and just take your money and keep withdrawing. You try to cancel your membership and it’s never cancelled! I don’t need an apology by the crunch owner I need my refund! I am also going to Lancaster Online and WGAL tomorrow about this because clearly this is an ongoing issue and this place and staff need to be investigated! Second time I have joined this gym hoping it would have improved from the last time I was a member. Sadly it has not. Dirty, out of cleaning products, paper towels. But the worst is that you purchase a membership thinking you are getting use of sauna, tanning etc. these are not working most of the time. To make it worse, they seem to have no sense of urgency around getting them fixed.

5/24/2025 - A big part of my routine is using the sauna 4x a week. The sauna is down again and the front desk told me someone named “Tom” has decided not to fix it. I’m confused because as a paying member, this is part of what I pay for. Would like to have the amenities I signed up for available.

5/5/25 - Extremely unimpressed with the explicit music they’re playing now. I haven’t been in a bit and was very surprised today. Honestly a major turn off.

9/13/2023 - I moved here from LA Fitness and the differences are insane. It’s so clean, people are there to workout not just mess around, and the staff is really helpful!

The quality of the gym is going down hill. You would think at a minimum they would have some constantly cleaning the machine but nope. They used to do this but again just bad quality all around.

I told the person at the front desk they could at least go next door to the dollar tree to purchase paper towels and hand sanitizer. His response it’s a management thing which I agree it is. He only works there.

I strongly discourage anyone from signing up at Crunch Gym. The facility is poorly maintained—basic necessities like paper towels are often missing, and overall cleanliness is lacking.

My biggest issue, however, was being charged an additional $180 for personal training after canceling my membership. When I reached out to the manager, Sean, I was met with rudeness, evasiveness, and zero accountability. He even told me he has never issued a refund to anyone, which speaks volumes about how this gym handles customer service and billing issues.

Despite filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, I have yet to see a refund—and from what I’ve heard from others, this type of situation is not uncommon. The gym lures people in with low prices and flashy marketing, but once you’re in, they do little to resolve problems or incorrect charges.

Please take the many 1-star reviews seriously—mine included—and save yourself the headache by choosing a better-managed and more honest gym.

The gym is great I do want to say I haven't had an issue there. The problem is I agreed to 2 months of personal training there and was charged for a 3rd month and I did tell them it's fine I'll use it another month but now you charging me for a month after I was told by the manager Sean that it was cancelled I was charged again. Run 🏃 and by that I mean don’t sign up. It’s impossible to cancel. The ‘owner’ is a complete (blank) and once u call the hotline to cancel they tell u after 20min waiting that the local one is the only once that can cancel.

They changed their hours and now the gym is always packed. They dont fix the equipment that have been broken for months. Some of the members that go there are rude. This gym is absolutely TRASH. Fix your equipment!

Update: Came back after 3 years without any changes seen, but I work in the area so it convenient for me to go. I had injured myself about 4 weeks ago and asked management for paperwork and video footage. I've asked multiple times without any follow up whatsoever. This is the worst management I've ever seen.

I am so frustrated with the spin classes on Monday, Thursday and Saturday morning by Marjean. These classes are the ones I specifically enjoy but have not been able to sign up because it is full the night before. The main reason is they only have 14 working bikes out of 25 which is totally ridiculous I have already taken my phone in the Zumba during Wednesday’s class trying to get into spin classes for 5:15 on Thursday night. There are many others as frustrated please consider getting new bikes to accommodate paying customers. I have not been able to take these classes for two weeks.

Benjamin gave me and my wife a tour around the entire gym, and made us feel like home in the process. He explained each and every machine with great detail! Showcasing which muscle category was being worked out as he went along. Coming from someone who has had memberships to many gyms, I can confidently say this is the best experience we’ve had so far. I try to go to crunch Lancaster everyday and everyday I do the workers are always so nice and always greet me. Is it possible to leave 0 stars? The gym is filthy. Hair and handprints in the exact spots for weeks. They fired their trainer, Rose, which left half of the remaining class schedules. With no plan in place to build the class schedules, they removed their class restriction size to “be accommodating” while leaving it unsafe to perform most of the exercises in the class. I called to cancel 3 weeks into my membership. This place is a nightmare of no one claiming responsibility for cancellations. The call center tries to send you to the local branch, while the local branch tells you to call a number. After being left hanging for 2 days, I finally called back to learn that I was going to be charged for an entire year to cancel. When I signed up, I asked Colin if I cancelled within 30 days, would I be charged the annual fee? He assured me as long as it’s within 30 days, I would not. This place is a dirty, disgusting joke. Already reported to the BBB. Do NOT join this gym!

The 2 is generous. I know Crunch is a franchise with different local owners, etc., but this place needs some corporate support. The only reason I still go here is convivence, if they stick one closer to Mt Joy instead of more PF then I'll be going there for sure. Long Post ahead but all truthful needed information
Pros: variety of equipment, some nice amenities, decent hours (though longer weekend hours would be nice).
Cons: Staffing, either there are 6 people at the desk or 1, they may say hi to you and ensure you scan in though truthfully I walked in for a week straight right by the desk and no one said a word. 2. equipment is in need of regular maintenance and repair: many machines have worn or non existent pads, loose hardware or broken to some degree, one elliptical has had only one arm for over 2 years. This is not an exaggeration I was on it when it happened and to this day its still that way. Also only 1 adjustable bench isn't bolted to the floor creating long waits or inability for certain lifts/exercises 3. Sanitation: paper towels are either all out or sitting on top of trash cans, rarely are the dispensers filled. 4. The amenities need addressed, the float bed is now another storage room, the cyro never happened due to needing medical staff, kids crunch is never open, dry pod settings never seem to sync. 5. The locker room needs serious attention. The service company you pay for to clean it does a poor job. Again I went in a week straight lockers open a dirty/stained and on top empty bottle and a shoe so obliviously these weren't cleaned. The other day there were 4 large trash bags filled sitting near the stretch/ab area during regular hours. Locker room is also in need of repairs which members need to take ownership, leaving wads of gum in toilets, ripping soap dispensers off the wall, treating the sauna poorly (though managements' fault for putting a bowl and spoon in there creating assumption its ok to pour water on the electronic coals). We can't ask for nice things and not be good stewards to them.
Truthfully, they need to close this gym down, clean, renovate and update it and figure our their retention to create the Crunch we all love and enjoyed up to and through COVID because this one isn't it. If it wasn't for Rose and some of the PT staff I don't think this place would meet their membership quota.

It’s unfortunate this gym let go a trainer/teacher that was very popular with clients in a way that affected many gym goers negatively. They have a non-compete, which seems inappropriate in an economy that so many have to have a second job. Regardless, she was let go because of a second job. She was not poaching or trying to convince anyone to move, but they have a rule. For the sake of their patrons, they could have worked with this trainer or come to an agreement possibly. Instead they abruptly got rid of her without a plan to cover her work. She taught probably more than half of their classes and was a popular teacher. So because they just fired her, many have left, many canceled their pt program and many are without the classes they are members for including me. It’s very unfortunate that management/upper management seemed to think not firstly about patrons in this.

This is easily one of the grossest gyms I have ever been to. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but after seeing the exact same dirt and hair balls in corners, cracks, and in equipment for MONTHS, along with a consistent lack of paper towels, toilet paper, and cleaning supplies, I am done. Cancelling the membership was a hassle too, but that’s an entirely separate issue. If it wasn’t a pigsty full of broken equipment all the time I wouldn’t have had to cancel.

I have never seen a gym managed so poorly. More like trash fitness So i was just told by the gym manager that my membership was revoked because some guy wanted to start a fight with me on the treadmill amd then run to staff when i started talking back to him this is not right i pay for a premium memmbership and the manager said he personally left me a voicemail and other messege saying that i was revoked for the incident and so was the other person so bassically any body that dosnt like anybody is aloud to harrass me until i get aggitated i mind my own buisiness when im there i expect people to do the same and i expect staff to have integrity to look at the cameras like i asked them too the manager claimed he told me left multiple messages also i stated that its ok i wanted out of my contract anyway he says oh your on month to month you could canceled anytime with a smartass tone and i was told by litterally all staff anytime i asked to cancel that i was on a contract and couldnt thats what i told him he says well who told you that ? I said litterally everyone of the staff ive asked over the years told me i was on a contract and i couldnt just cancel with out penalty so i went in here multiple times last week amd was not told by any staff that i was revoked until i just went in now to pay my 30 dollar fee how is it ok for him to claim telling me when he never actually did personally or through message so its funny how he wanted to try and irritate me with claiming he told me already then tries to make a joke of me like im to dumb to remember. I love this gym but whoever is working the front desk tonight (2/28) abruptly shut the main floor lights off at 11 minutes to closing. If you close at 9, turn the lights off at 9. Huge safety hazard for those lifting and using equipment on the main floor. Please do better.

This location is dirty. Men and women’s bathrooms are disgusting. During the height of flu season, sanitization stations are out of paper towels leaving the machines covered in body fluids. Discussions with the managers resulted in, “ I know it’s terrible but we are waiting on paper towels to come in”. In management, part of your job is ensuring that product is available. This gym has done a terrible job with maintaining adequate products in the gym.

Absolutely nothing has changed since my last review, equipment is still broken, paper towels are never restocked. Not the mention the lack of adherence to the rules by fellow members. Dress code is NOT FOLLOWED, (grown men wearing yoga pants) and people that don’t even have memberships seem to be freely allowed in the locker rooms. I cannot express how much I hate this gym. The vibes when you’re there are awful, the gym staff has crazy turnover (I don’t blame them), and it’s extremely difficult to cancel your membership. A year or so ago my card expired and I had some charges on my account, they ended up charging a card they should NOT have had access to since I removed it from my account as a payment option resulting in me not being able to pay a bill on time. When I tried to get the issue resolved and get an answer as to why this happened I got the run around from the manager at the time, and a week later there was somebody new who I got the run around from. It was a nightmare. The bathrooms aren’t the cleanest, things are always broken, and the trainers are bitchy. Do yourself a favor & never go to this gym. If you do have a membership, it’s free to cancel but if it’s within 10 days of your next payment you still have to pay for the next month.

This scummy gym and its staff screwed my fiancé out of $360, in a mere month. She wanted to try a personal training program, in which she told an employee named Shannon that she only sought to do it for ONE MONTH. (I explained to her how it was a scam in general, here’s why:) Once a week, she would meet with Shannon for an hour, and all this lady did was teach her how to “lift weights”. So four sessions a month, $45 per session, totaling $180. For a person to teach her how to lift weights. She and I expected MUCH more than this and are highly disappointed. But wait, that’s only half the story! Just a couple of days ago, she reached out to Shannon to remind her again that she was done, now that the month was about over. “There is a 30-day cancellation notice, like we talked about.” Never was this mentioned prior to this conversation, and never was the contract explained or available for her to read before signing. If only it didn’t cost more than $360 for a lawyer, this sorry excuse of a gym would have been sued. You mean to tell me, my fiancé would have had to start, and cancel this useless “training program” on the same day in order to only be charged for a month? Just tell us you want a one-time payment then! Don’t scam us out of another $180! Worst part is, Shannon told her she can’t meet her until the 17th, which Shannon knows is the day this renews! What a way to bend the rules to your liking! So yeah, besides that, the equipment is horrendous. There’s countless deadlift and squat machines but everything else is a one-of situation. The place requires you give them your driver’s license if you’re a guest, and the staff were gloomy every time I was there. DO NOT even give this place a shot, it’s a lost cause. Planet Fitness is way nicer, I promise you the transfer is worth it.

I get call after call from a debt collection agency calls multiple times a day. Worst customer service and ran business I’ve seen. Definitely would not recommend this gym to anyone. I signed up just for the month while my wife was away on a vacation to try out the gym. I was never given anything to sign in to the gym but would give my name because the app never worked.. When my month was up I went into the gym to try and cancel and they do not handle any of their cancellations in person for some reason. They did provide a phone number to call. I called and it was some cheap teleprompter agency or something and it was quite the process to cancel. After a while on the phone with this service they said you needed 30 days notice to cancel the service and would have to pay all bills in that 30 day window. So in my 30 day window was the yearly fee. Apparently they made me pay my yearly fee as I was just trying to cancel my membership(which isn’t easy). This is predatory business tactics that I imagine they use to take advantage of people. The membership is cheap because they skimp on costs of other services.

I just witness some of the most unhinged behavior I’ve ever seen in a gym.
