My 8 year old daughter Riley has been going to EWK Jamison for over 3 years. It has done wonders for her confidence and shyness. She is part of their mastery program and is on the demo team. We cannot say enough nice things.

East West Karate in Jamison is AMAZING. From Sensei Mike to all the coaches, they run a great program. My son started two months ago and is beginning to really develop a confidence in him we’ve never seen and he’s always looking for the positives in ever situation. We look forward to him continuing to develop his self defense skills as well as his discipline. Keep it up EWK!

East West Karate is more than just training, it lays a foundation for leadership and communication. The instructors pushed me to step up, teach, and inspire others, helping me grow in confidence and discipline. The skills I gained here go far beyond martial arts—they’ve shaped who I am today. Highly recommend!

East West Karate has been such a positive place for my son. He’s been training in the dojo for a few months now. Sensei Mike and his team are fantastic. My son loves training there, and I am so impressed with the skills he has learned. We have noticed his confidence growing and love to see him really start to value certain attributes such as respect and integrity. We are so glad we decided to have our son train at East west and highly recommend them!
Update- We have now been sending our son for over a year to the dojo for karate. We also signed out daughter up. They have learned so much, have a great time and get good exercise. East West Jamison is such a welcoming place to all who want to learn martial arts. I appreciate the fun extra activities they plan, along with the values they are teaching my kids. It is money well spent being members at the EWK!

Sensei Mike, Coach Kellie, and the entire leadership team have created an environment that fosters not only physical fitness but also personal growth. My daughters have learned the importance of discipline, dedication, and respect—values that will serve them well throughout their lives.

Our family has been going to EWK for 7 years, we had a tiny tiger who is now a Sr. Purple belt and another who started as a little dragon, now a brown belt. The entire coaching and Sensei team is absolutely amazing! The time and dedication they spend with the kids (and adults) not only helping them perfect their martial arts skills but also focusing on values they can use everyday.
The kids are challenged with monthly character assignments and goal setting all in preparation for their belt graduation. These challenges help the kids to understand it’s not all about what you do on the mat but off the mat as well.
I whole heartedly recommend this dojo to all who are considering martial arts for their kids or themselves!

East West Jamison has been so wonderful to our family and we have seen out once very shy and reserved son grow and mature in three short years into a respectful and kind and outgoing young man. My wife and I have grow closer since we both started taking classes and have had so much fun. The Instructors at the Jamison dojo are professional and respectful towards every student and make learning self defense and Martial Arts fun. We are honored to be a part of this wonderful dojo and a part of their family. OSU!!

Our son started at EWK Jamison in April 2024. Sensei Mike, Sensei Nick, and Coach Kellie are phenomenal mentors! We have noticed incredible growth emotionally, mentally, and physically in our son since day one!
Every class starts with positive affirmations found within the Student Creed. They reinforce core values in a structured class. The way they deliver the importance of self-awareness and self-respect, to self-defense, while teaching the fundamentals of karate, is fierce!
Each class also comes with a healthy dose of life lessons in a positive, exciting, and fun manner. Classes are motivational and inspirational for kids and parents alike. At this Dojo, karate is a family sport! Not to mention, the dojo is exceptionally clean and inviting!
In July 2024 our son started their Mastery Program, which is an elevated experience in itself, emphasizing communication and leadership.
Needless to say, their program is certainly geared for gains! The way the Sensei's give their best to bring out the best in our kids - is unmatched. They're not only committed, they're dedicated!
We are so happy we found EWK Jamison! If you are contemplating signing up your child, I encourage you to do so! It's never too early, or too late! You have nothing to lose, and your child (and even you) have everything to gain!
Looking forward to many more years at the dojo!
Thanks, EWK Jamison!

We signed our 3 kids up at East West Karate in Jamison almost exactly one year ago (ages 4, 6, 8 at the time) and it has FAR exceeded all of our expectations! Sensei Mike, Sensei Nick and Coach Kellie have an innate ability to engage kids at all different ages and comfort levels and help to instill confidence and discipline in a positive way week in and week out. When you join East West Karate you are joining an extended family. Most recently, two of our kids joined their Mastery Team and are absolutely loving the program!
Thank you to our dojo for being that positive daily experience for our kids!

East West Karate in Jamison has been so beneficial for our family. My son has found an outlet for his energy, a new understanding of discipline, and positive voices and role models in his Sensei’s Mike & Nick and Coach Kelly. Additionally I have picked up ideas on how to be a better parent. I feel like when you walk through the doors it’s a family experience, not just dropping your kid at an activity. Proud to be a part of the East West Team, the energy and positivity we have found here is unmatched!

We joined East West Karate Jamison 2 years ago and love it there! Not only does my son enjoy learning karate, I love the life lessons sprinkled in- like having the kids thank their parents for bringing them in at the start of class. The staff are phenomenal- they learn every child’s name and consistently provide positive feedback that helps them improve and builds their confidence. Also, the flexible schedule fits into our life as a busy family beautifully. Overall, I cannot say enough great things about this place, they are truly building a community and we love being a part of it.

Two weeks ago, we celebrated my son’s birthday with an extraordinary party at the East West Karate Gym in Jamison, and it was nothing short of magical. In search of a unique Ninja Warrior-themed celebration, I reached out to our local community group on Facebook. To my delight, the gym’s owner contacted me, offering to host a party that perfectly matched our theme, complete with a ninja rope and obstacle course. The highlight for my son? The chance to slice his birthday cake with a real sword!
The cost of the party was in line with typical rates for birthday celebrations in our area, even considering the seasonal price hikes. The package catered to 16 children, providing an hour of thrilling ninja activities followed by thirty minutes for pizza and cake. I can confidently say that it was an investment well worth making.
My son, now 9, experienced a day he’ll never forget, thanks to two incredibly talented twenty-something instructors who not only demonstrated their mastery of karate but also their knack for engaging and entertaining a lively group of children. From the moment the kids stepped onto the mat until they left, they were immersed in action, making it a truly unforgettable birthday party.

We signed our son up for the Tiny Tigers class about 3 months ago and he has been loving it! He was super shy his first trial class and wouldn’t even go on the mat, but Coach Kellie was very understanding and let him come back to try again. Sensai Nick was awesome with him and kept checking in during both of his trial classes - Louie slowly came out of his shell during his second trial class and hasn’t looked back since. He’s always excited for “karate day” and can’t wait to go to class. We love the mix of fun and learning in the classes and it’s nice to see the older kids getting involved and helping out in the younger classes. Would definitely recommend East West Karate!

This place has changed our lives. Really.
We signed up with my oldest because they were one of the only places open during Covid, so I gave it a shot. Four years later, we have a blue belt (me), blue purple belt (7 yo) a white yellow belt (4 yo), and so many amazing memories. When my son needed emergency surgery, the only steady thing we had at one point was karate. Sensai Mike has taught my children disciple, respect, and how to be good humans. I cannot tell you what a blessing this place has been in our lives. I have watched many children transform into amazing future black belts. If you are even thinking about trying this place out, please go, you will not regret it and your kid will have a blast. Osu!

We signed up our young daughter for the Little Dragons classes 2 years ago, and have watched her continue to grow stronger and more confident ever since! Sensei Mike, Sensei Nick, Coach Kel and all the student helpers we've worked with have all been just so kind, knowledgable, encouraging and fun! I have never seen such absolute PATIENCE when dealing with unpredictable kiddos on the mat. These people are truly wonderful to watch working with kids!
I thought the kids' classes looked like so much fun, that I signed myself up for the Adult MMA classes- and also received kind, patient, professional training. Even if you feel you're starting at Level 0? The senseis and coaches are all there rooting for you in such a positive environment.
We cannot recommend this dojo enough!

We love East West Karate. Sensei Mike and his team are the best. They work well with kids (which is not easy), and offer valuable lessons during and after class. We started with one daughter, now all three of our girls go there. Their schedule also offers a variety of classes to accommodate busy schedules. Nice community events too- BBQs, trunk or treats, etc.

We signed our daughter up a few years ago, and our experience at the Jamison dojo has been amazing. It did not take us long to realize our daughter was now a part of something special. Sensei Mike, Coach Kellie, and Mr. Nick are an incredible team of not only instructors, but leaders for everyone to follow. They make you feel like family, and they truly find so much joy in each child and adults accomplishments. The life lessons my daughter has learned are tremendous, and is something that will be so valuable to her growing up. We would highly recommend East West Karate Jamison.

We had heard great things about this dojo, but didn't realize just how much it would make a difference for our 6 year old son. He was signed up without knowing anyone and he was nervous to participate. It took 3 classes before he would get on the mat willingly, but each day Mr. Nick would greet him with a smile and encouraging word. Our son has grown so much! He is supported through the dojo not only with his performance in karate class, but also with his performance in school. Sensei Mike has a genuine interest in the kids' whole personal growth. The entire staff is amazing! We couldn't be happier with our decision to join the EWK Jamison family.

A year and a half ago we signed our oldest son up to start Karate. I was concerned because he has special needs and I didn’t think he would be able to keep up with the class. Boy was I wrong! Sensei Mike, Coach Kellie, and Mr.Nick push him to always do his best and try his hardest. We have seen major improvements in all aspects of his life. He is more responsible, respectful, and accountable for his actions. We are so happy that we also signed our younger son up a few months ago and he is loving it as well. My entire family absolutely loves this dojo and all of its instructors! We came to the dojo during “bring a buddy week”. My daughter was scared to go out on the mat during the first visit, but as a parent I knew that East West Karate was exactly what my youngest daughter needed as she struggled with confidence. Coach Kelly informed us that my daughter could have a one on one with her to introduce her to karate and feel more confident once on the mat. Lets, just say that one on one with coach Kelly was all she needed. Her confidence has grown tremendously, I have observed more respectful behavior at home, her grades in school are great, and she has learned self-defense. The Jamison dojo is a safe, clean, family oriented environment with fantastic instructors. I would highly recommend East West Karate to anyone!

My son joined East West Karate back in the Fall, and loved it so much that he quickly convinced his younger sister to join as well. My kids LOVE taking classes and ask me daily when they can go back again. Sensei Mike, Coach Kellie, and Mr. Nick are so invested in teaching, inspiring, and helping all of their students set and achieve their goals. This goes way beyond the skills they work on in karate - it impacts every part of their lives. I have seen an improvement in their performance in the other sports they participate in, as well as their willingness to set stretch goals for themselves in school. No matter how tired or cranky we are at the end of a school/work day, when we go to class at EWK we all leave feeling re-energized, supported, and inspired. Back at home my kids will remind me of wisdom learned from their Sensei and Instructors...”Mom, I can do this - last one, best one!” “It’s good to try new things - every Master was once a disaster!” My son had previously taken karate at two different programs before, and there is truly no comparison to the amazing experience at EWK. It’s a very special place thanks to the extraordinary example and leadership of Sensei Mike, Coach Kellie, and Mr. Nick. I’d give EWK a ten star review if that were an option. #EWKFAM #REVIEW

Don’t be scared to come here if your child is struggling with making friends, lacking confidence or motivation, even enjoying themselves while in group activities. Sensei Mike, Coach Kellie and Mr Nick are wonderful with all their kiddos. Sensitive, encouraging and loving. Each interaction they have had with my child has left her beaming with pride and a sense of feeling loved. We tried multiply sports and other classes, each time I felt as though the instructor, coach or teacher over looked who my child really was. Then became impatient with them and moved on. This left my child sad and then unmotivated. Somehow in each class Sensei finds a way to reach each child’s particular needs and then meets them... every time! I was not expecting all the extra fun activities they have for the kiddos- The day camp, birthday parties, sleepovers and even out in the public supporting events in the community really make my daughter feel like this is a family that she is apart of. If there is ever a time if I ask my daughter if she wants to have a play date or something else that may come up or go to karate class- she NEVER turns it down. It’s been a blessing for our family in so many ways. Don’t be scared to come over and check it out, it’s not going to disappoint! Thanks East West Jamison Karate team.... you guys kick butt. 😊

Sensei Mike, Coach Kelly and Mr. Nick are the reasons Im giving this DoJo 5 stars. I came here months ago not knowing what to expect. My daughter (age 8) seemed to be the target bullying through the years. She lacked the confidence to stand up for herself. I brought her in and met Coach Kelly. That was it! My daughter instantly knew this was the place for her. I have seen such a difference. She holds her head higher and as a parent I'm so grateful. We loved it so much here we signed
up my son(5). I highly recommend this DoJo to anyone looking for a safe, clean, friendly environment. Thank you Sensi Mike, Coach Kelly and Mr Nick for your continuing support and love you show these children every day. Great role models!!

We moved from South Africa to Doylestown at the end of September 2019. My 5-year old son was invited by a friend to East West Karate and he immediately wanted to join after meeting Sensei Mike, Coach Kellie, and Coach Nick. Initially we thought that joining the dojo will assist him to achieve fitness, establish new friendships, adapt to a new country, new language, etc. We received all these benefits and so much more! Students at EWK are taught to respect their instructors, teachers, parents, each other and themselves. They have lots of fun at the dojo but discipline, listening skills, and good behavior are important principles in the class. I have seen how this translates into good behavior at school and at home. There is a focus on personal development and I just love how my son’s confidence and self-esteem are enhanced with every class. Sensei Mike, Coach Kellie, and Coach Nick provide consistent positive verbal reinforcement and students always feel good about themselves despite making mistakes. The EWK team has made such a positive impact on my son in only 5 months. Their patience, enthusiasm, and sincere care for each student are outstanding. My son is so happy to be part of this dojo 😃

My whole family has been going to East West Karate in Jamison for years. It started with my oldest, then my youngest then both my wife and I jumped in. And now we all love it. Sensei Mike does a great job of being a role model for our kids and teaches them karate as well as reinforcing other life lessons. They also have a kickboxing class and coach Kellie runs a great high energy class which is always a awesome workout. The dojo is also flexible with schedules (eg vacations, medical etc) and you can go as often as you want as there is no limit on classes, which is a great benefit compared to some other schools. Overall a great workout as well as great people. Highly recommended!

In the middle of my 10th grade year of high school I was feeling down on my self-confidence, after being tired of being completely out of shape and having a total lack of self-confidence I decided to do something that would tackle both things at once. The first time I entered the Dojo I could immediately tell I was gonna love going there. Not only is the class a great workout but everyone there from Mr. Nick to Sensei Mike and Coach Kelly are some of the nicest, most genuine people I have ever met. They are always motivating every single member of the class to do their best and to keep pushing even when they feel like they cannot possibly do any more. I have improved 10 fold and can do things now I would have never thought I could. If you are looking for a great workout and an amazing time then join EWK, You won't regret it!

Enrolling our son, Noah, into East West Karate at Jamison was the best decision my husband and I have made, and I’ll tell you why. Originally we believed that doing karate would strengthen his abilities and love of sports. However, it strengthened so much more in him. You see, when Noah was 7, he faced bullying. Bullying that came from an adult on a daily basis, his teacher. It was then that Noah had lost all confidence in himself, he no longer had any self-esteem. Sensei Mike immediately stepped in and took Noah under his wing. He showed Noah just how worthy he really was. A few days a week, Sensei Mike would take a half hour out of his day to work with Noah, both physically and mentally to rebuild his confidence, to rebuild our child who at some point was no longer the child we knew. Sensei Mike once said to Noah “that there is no elevator to success, there are only stairs”, and that has since become Noah’s mantra. There are not enough words to thank Sensei Mike for what he did for Noah. Noah is almost 10 now. He is stronger mentally, physically and emotionally with the hard work and discipline he has gotten through EWK.
Noah’s 5 year old sister will be enrolling this upcoming spring. Coach Kellie has a way of connecting with children of all ages, and has captured the heart of our little girl.
And let’s not forget about Mr. Nick. An example of a responsible, disciplined and warm hearted young man to whom Noah looks up to. Just earlier today, Mr. Nick sat down on the mat to talk to Noah when we got to class early. It could have been just as easy for Mr. Nick to look the other way and not notice Noah sitting there alone. But he didn’t.
You see, East West Jamison is not just a karate school, it is a family.

We enrolled our 4 kids 4 months ago because we wanted an activity for our children that would benefit them in the long term as well as short term. Karate seemed to be the logical choice because it teaches self defense along with discipline and respect. We had a few options in the area but chose East West Karate Jamison thanks to a recommendation from a daycare friend. Initially we started going once a week but increased to 3 times a week for our oldest and 2 times a week for our younger kids because they loved class so much. Sensei Mike, Coach Kelli and Mr. Nick care about their students a lot and it clearly shows. They want everyone to succeed and to be their best self. They really make you feel like family from day 1 and it's as if you have known them your whole life. I would highly recommend enrolling your kids here!

Our family has been coming here off and on for almost 6 years. We started with our oldest Antonio who is autistic. Sensi Mike and the original Mr. Nick were awesome then with him just turned out karate wasn’t for our boy. But I enrolled too in the adult karate classes, which were awesome but again family life, health conditions and moving cross country forced us to take a break. As soon as we moved back to the area I enrolled in the kickboxing classes with Coach Kelly, which were also awesome. Now Antonio still had zero interest in rejoining but our now middle Child Sophia (who was an infant las time we were around the dojo) wanted to start karate at age 4. That was two years ago she is now almost an orange belt in the Little Dragons class. She loves class and goes to every sleep over and day camp we are in town for. She now has a friend coming to the bring a friend classes who is interested in signing up. She has made so many friends it’s hard to keep track. I’ve seen her grow so much being in the EWK-JAMISON Family. Now I cannot forget Mr. Nick 2.0! He’s just amazing with the kids and such a good role model along with Sensi Mike and Coach Kelly. We love our EWK-Dojo and even drove from Plumstead to go to the JAMISON dojo just because of them.

My daughter Lily started at East West Karate in Jamison over a year ago now. Lily was born early, and has some attention issues, low muscle tone, as well as a diastesis (a separation of her stomach wall.) This caused her to have very poor balance and strength. Lily was also very emotional and hard on herself, and would give up easily on just about anything.
Well, a year later, all I can say is my daughter is a completely different child, and I have Sensei Mike, Coach Kelly, Mr. Nick and all of the other amazing staff at EWKJ to thank.
Her strength has become incredible, and her balance is second to none. Her diastesis has even closed, something they said wouldn't even be possible. Her strength is off the charts, as is her focus, confidence, and her spirit.
Not only does she love karate more than anything, she doesn't even know that the team at EWKJ has actually helped her overcome true challenges that could have followed her throughout her life.
I will be forever grateful to Sensei and Coach. If you are even considering giving them and EWKJ a try, do it!!! You will not regret it and it's so amazing to watch your child grow both mentally and physically and become so empowered.
Thank you for all you do!

A wonderful place for families to not only learn martial arts but to get healthy and gain confidence. The instructors couldn't be nicer and the atmosphere is super supportive here. There is truly something for everyone from the youngest kid to the oldest adult.

This has to be one of the best karate dojos ever. I've been training here for seven years (at time of writing) and cannot say enough good things about it. They offer different classes based on the skill level and age of the student. Their classes focus not only on the physical aspects of martial arts but also the mental aspects. They offer a perfect balance of fitness and martial arts. It builds confidence and is very fun. 10/10

Our son was invited here by a friend for a Bring a Friend Week back in 2016 and he instantly loved it. Once we signed him up we noticed a big change. He started growing out of his shyness and started building his self confidence. Within a couple of months he was standing taller and becoming more independent. I later joined after a Mothers Day free class and my Husband then joined after a Fathers Day free class. We all now train together and learn from the best Senseis' and instructors around. Sensei Mike, Sensei Austin, Sensei Nick and Coach Kellie are all kind, caring, loving. They help you through every step of the way, encouraging you to do your best. They motivate you to never stop and give up on yourself. Everyone at this dojo is like a family, everyone looks our for each other and you never feel unwelcomed. Our 4 year old son loves coming to East/West karate VMMA. Sensei Mike And his team of coaches are amazing and extremely dedicated to their students. We signed up our son because we wanted him to be involved in an activity that combine physicality and focus. They do just that! This is something we look forward to twice a week!

AWESOME DoJo! The instructors really care and take an interest in the children. They motivate them to DO and BE their best. Sensei Mike, Mr. Nick and Coach Kellie are outstanding and my son loves going to class. He would go every day if it was up to him. Excellent program and great people. I would give 10 stars if Google allowed it!

I enrolled my son in the Tiny Tigers class and he loved it right away. Sensei Mike was able to keep the children focused and excited about learning new skills. It was always the highlight of my day watching the little ones try their best and try to impress their role model.
Months later I decided to try a class. I was extremely nervous because I was out of shape and I thought I'd never make it through one class. 3 months later, I'm loving it! It's hard to get motivated to leave the house after working all day and then dinner and bath and bedtime. However, the minute I step on the mat I am so glad I'm there. I am stronger after each class and I am accomplishing things I didn't think I could. I am definitely seeing results. The team is so encouraging. I couldn't be happier as a parent and a student!
