As my interest is the pool, i swem there a few times and felt a very strong chlorine smell which made me a headaches after an hour of swimming.
Raising the issue with an employee twice said he will escalate the issue.
I also wrote two emails on the subject but nobody returned to me nor addressed the issue.
Im still waiting for a response....

The care I received from Ali at FitLife was extraordinary! Ali was very compassionate and understanding. The exercises she gave me to address the various physical issues I have were perfect: detailed, complete, helpful. She worked with me to get the exercises so that they would be the most effective. The other therapists and staff are as friendly and helpful as Ali. I strongly recommend FitLife!

Used to love this place, but TOO MANY KIDS dominating pool afternoons despite pool's therapeutic purpose. Locker rooms are deteriorating, many broken lockers, showers that don't drain well. Upstairs there is a ceiling leak with a big recycling bin collecting drops. On the positive side, it does have good classes, pool is nice IF you can get a spot, hot tub, plenty of workout machines.

I love almost everything about FitLife. It has a good atmosphere, the staff are friendly, and it has all the equipment you need and a beautiful free space.
However, I am posting a subpar review because the ceiling/pipes have been leaking for such a long time, and the only solution seems to be painting over water stains and buying bigger buckets. Considering the floor is carpeted, the constant water is concerning. Plus, being dripped on during a workout really isnβt pleasant.
They βrenovatedβ all the bathrooms recently yet already they have a towel to catch drips above one and this bucket next to the other one.
This could be a great gym with a little more care and attention, and I hope this encourages them to fix it so its clientele can feel more comfortable in the space. Bringing it the attention of the onsite staff hasnβt resulted in any changes so unfortunately I have to post publicly.

My treatment and experience here has been less than favorable.
I arrived at 7:02 to be exact, as I was walking towards the therapy room, Rachel saw me but never acknowledged me which is all too common for her. I always assumed that it was early and maybe she didnβt have her coffee but to my surprise that was not the case. This was my 5th visit to the facility and my last. Let me explain in detail what happened.
As I approached the desk area where Matt sits, I said good morning. Rachel comes from the desk area and asks how I was feeling. I stated getting better but not 100%. She then asked if I wanted to ride the upright bike, I replied sure, she never escorted me to the bike but later came to check the time. In the meantime a lady who she seemed to know came in who also has an appointment but not sure of the time however, I heard Rachel say that she was early. She began to laugh and joke with this woman which was shocking to me because I never seen her smile. . As I am still riding the bike, Rachel proceeds to attend to the Lady who is βWhiteβ then I see Matt come from behind the desk to get a ball and a yellow band and place it at my table. When that happened I started feeling a little uneasy, thinking is she asking Matt to assist me in my therapy as she worked with the lady who came to her appointment early. I got off the bike and Matt approaches me and tells me that he is going to work with me. At that point I was confused , not that Matt would be working with me but the audacity to disregard my appointment time. I told Matt that I was leaving because I did not like the fact that Rachel did not communicate to me that Matt would be working with me for a period of time. Additionally, I have not been pleased with Rachelβs professional skills. As I was leaving the facility, Rachel follows me to ask if there is a problem.. I said I am good and left the facility.
When I returned home I called and spoke with Erin (gym manager) who seemed to care and listened to my concerns respectively. She offered to give me 2 free sessions at no cost. She also stated that she would have Megan (PT Supervisor) to give me a call. Later that day I spoke with Megan who apologized for what happened to me during my treatment. She mentions the 2 free sessions they were willing to offer me. I told her that I would let her know the next day if I wanted to take the offer.
The next day I called, Matt answers the call and I specifically ask to have Megan call me back. Matt then asked if I wanted to speak with Rachel ( PT who I have been working with the past 4 weeks) I stated to Matt I had no desire to speak with her. An hour later I received a call from Rachel who then pretends she had not spoken to Megan or Erin which I found puzzling. I told her she should speak with them but she pressed me into telling her the issue from yesterday I explained to her what I was felling and how she never communicated what was happening at the time. How would she know there was an issue if she never spoke to me or her colleagues. All she knew is that I left the facility.
Megan called me later and stated she never got a chance to speak with Rachel about what happened yesterday. I am flabbergasted at this point. The disrespect, gaslighting and condescending tone was insulting to me.
I am sure this isnβt the first time something of this magnitude has happened.
Hire more people who has the ability to be professional. compassionate and caring about those who are pain and donβt look like them.
And I donβt need free sessions because I have insurance and I am not a charity case.

I received treatment at FitLife Physical Therapy from Megan Ritz over the course of two+ months for plantar fasciitis. I enter treatment barely able to walk 500 ft. without pain and by the end was able to return to a 3x / week 3 mile run without any residual pain. Megan's assessment skills and treatment plan were solid. She encouraged me and challenged me to push forward, correcting my form and answering any questions I might have. I can highly recommend her services as a physical therapist.

Dr. Rachel Miller is knowledgeable, positive, encouraging, organized, and extremely hardworking. She also has a great sense of humor and knows how to work with adults. I just finished therapy for torn muscles in my shoulder. The PT staff as a whole is the most competent group of professionals that I have encountered. The fact that the physical therapy component is part of a whole gym that includes a pool makes it an even better experience with more options to treat. A special shout out to Zach who was my PT. He was very knowledgeable and explained exactly what each activity was doing in my recovery. I would not go anywhere else!

Megan has an understanding of the human musculoskeletal system that would earn her βAβs on college exams. She is proficient in her knowledge of various ways to exercise an injured body part, using the mechanical approach that she appears to have learned well.
Unfortunately, Megan is inflexible about what she βknowsβ to be the best approach, disregarding ones age or disposition. She is not opposed to shaming her client as a motivational tool.
Myself being a professionally active 78 year old woman, I found it demoralizing to be referred to as βwe.β Nor could I get used to Meganβs habit of personifying anatomical parts, giving a muscle, for example, a gender and motive when explaining its function to me, much the way one might explain to a young child.
Once Megan has had some life experiences that teach her humility, she will be a 5 star physical therapist.

The gym is fine. However, I had paid for 4 half hour sessions of personal training and was excited to begin my weight loss and strength journey. I had one session with a trainer after which we scheduled to meet again the next week. However, I had to request to reschedule the second meeting (gave her at least 3 days' notice) and she said she would text me the times. It has now been over two weeks and I haven't heard from her at all. So then I tried a second trainer. We played phone tag and the last message I left for her was that I'd be available any time during her availability and all she has to do is let me know what day/time worked for her. This second trainer also did not call me back. I gave it one day more day then called her but was unable to leave a message this time because her VM was full. I talked to one of the front desk ladies and she told me to call yet another trainer who is supposed to be very responsive. So I did - but also had to leave message on his phone - this was last Friday evening. It is now Wednesday evening and I have not heard back from any of the three trainers that I contacted at FitLife. Yesterday I wrote to the gym about this experience and asked that they refund the personal training fees (minus the fee for the one session I had). I requested that the owner look into this problem and respond to the email. However, I still haven't heard from the gym either. I am stuck with the annual membership so I will continue using the gym, but I have no confidence in the professionalism and integrity of (some of) the folks who work here. If you need personal training, look elsewhere. If you have any customer service issues, this is not a place where your questions will get answered - unless your question will result in them getting money - then the response time is pretty stellar.

My experience at Fitlife was troubling.
I met with Manager Erin P. on a personal matter by her request.
Manager, Erin P. didn't have the decency to return my messages.
I felt that I wasn't worthy of a return call. Some of the reviews are good because Fitlife has good equipment?
But, I question their sensitivity towards people of color!
Some of the other reviews had the same concerns.

I had a terrible experience at Fitlife in Mt. Airy. I originally joined to have private training sessions. I found a trainer that I liked very much and worked with him every week for well over a year. Then one day he was gone. I got no warning or heads up from Fitlife and I've called repeatedly to discuss refunding my membership and remaining sessions, and they have never called or emailed to even follow up and discuss. While there are some nice people who work here, the management doesn't seem to treat it's employees or customers with respect, and I question their ethics overall. Caveat emptor

Excellent PT Staff!! I have been coming to Fit Life since July for PT for a badly broken ankle that needed surgery. Though this is my first/only experience with PT I have been so impressed with the staff. Chelsea who does land therapy, and Madeline who does aqua therapy have been marvelous. I have made great progress and am almost back to being completely functioning, I cannot say enough about their patience, professionalism, and overall great care. What I like:
Attractive aesthetically
Many classes, good teachers, good weight and other equipment
Calming and thoughtfully designed natatorium
As with the neighborhood, racially and age diverse members and staff
What could use improvement:
Occasional parking issues at peak times
Towel availability, and the hooks dump towels on the floor
Locker room needs to be power washed and a little refurb, and need new yoga mats
Would love jets that hit Upper Traps
Would love even more classes: Yuna Ball, Barre, Dance...
Suggestion for childcare diversity concerns: Check w parent members and try coordinating work-outs (possibly fewer parent age members of color) and approach management/owner w concerns?
