I've been working with Mike for over a year and he's helped me so much. I met him through my daughter and son in law. He's been training them for a few years and now he trains me too. He's helping me with strength training and my diet. I had gotten away from exercising for awhile and felt run down and I lost muscle. Now I feel stronger and my stamina has improved. I'm losing weight and I'm eating more food then I ever thought possible. He's different from other coaches I've had. He's teaching me that I can eat and enjoy being out with others and still reach my goals. I'm 63 and my husband is retired. Now it's about quality of life and being healthy. After taking care of our parents I've seen the alternative. I want to have energy to play with my grandchildren and keep up with them and we would like to travel and enjoy living. Mike is an awesome trainer. He's personable, has a wealth of knowledge and is a super nice guy. I highly recommend him.

One more month to go and I'm a year into my fitness journey with Micheal Hartman. Strength and mobility are the focus now, I've lost 50 lbs. naturally with no drugs and no surgery by making a serious commitment myself and my health. I still have 40 or so more lbs to go and every day my workouts are intense and focused. Michael has been instrumental in teaching me the proper way to train and eat for success. Year 2 is where the real fun begins as I expect Micheal to push me to new heights and next levels.
I look forward to pushing my limits and working relentlessly to be the person I am meant to be.

I met Mike with Formal Fitness Training three years ago after suffering from a fairly debilitating spinal injury. Prior to the injury, I was active, mobile and always on the go. Afterwards, I was afraid to sneeze while standing for fear the excruciating pain would send me to the floor. Mike and I trained through the two years leading up to my eventual surgery, last January. There were a lot of ups and downs through many rounds of steroid injections, big gains and small setbacks. My surgery should have had me flat out for three months, but due to all the strength and muscle mass gained through training, I was back to work in three weeks. I've been completely pain free for about a year now and still continue to train multiple days per week with Mike. I enjoy being coached and supported by a trainer who has my best interests and goals in mind - especially one who I now consider to be a dear friend.

I spent the 2nd half of my 20s struggling with intense lower back pain. I was misdiagnosed multiple times from the age of 25 and finally diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease at the age of 28. It forced me out of work multiple times and I became increasingly reliant on cortisone injections. The window of time between injections became narrower and narrower. I had to use a cane to get around on multiple occasions and live life drastically limited.
Mike Hartman's personalized training program was extremely insightful. In 6 months, he taught me a vast wealth of information, exercises, stretches, and techniques for how to effectively manage my spinal/nerve pain and get it under control. It feels great to live a relatively normal life again. I feel better than I ever have. Thank you again, Mike!

Mike is an amazing trainer involved in all aspects of fitness from weight training, stretching, recovery, dietary needs and any supplements. On top of that he is also just a great guy who genuinely cares and motivates. It's only been several weeks but his routines are already producing results and his vast knowledge has improved my form and reversed some bad habits I had developed while exercising on my own. I cannot recommend him enough.

If you are looking for a personal trainer, Mike is the guy!! From the moment I met him at our initial meeting, I knew he was going to be the perfect fit for what I needed. He's one of the most positive, motivating people I've ever met which makes me look forward to our training sessions. Mike is always there to show support even outside of scheduled training sessions. Giving a huge shout out to this guy, Michael Hartman, with Formal Fitness Training. This is a long post...
I started my fitness journey last April shortly after moving in to our new house with the goal of losing the baby weight. This decision to get in shape couldn't have come at a better time and I'm so happy we chose Mike to help us get there.
Two months in to my training, I noticed a lump in my stomach after losing some weight. Then came the news that it was a tumor and I would need major abdominal surgery to remove it. After that came the ovarian cancer diagnosis and the radical hysterectomy throwing me in to surgical menopause at 38 years old. Despite all of that, I was back on my feet and fully recovered 6 weeks after surgery.
I am so grateful that I met Mike and started working with him when I did. Getting in shape, building muscle, losing weight definitely made my recovery so much easier to get through. I have lost a total of 30 lbs on the scale but gained muscle in the process. I work out 4 days a week with minimal cardio and I still can enjoy foods like pizza and french fries. And wine :)
But don't just choose any trainer! Mike is a caring and compassionate person that just wants to see you succeed and get better. Reach your goals! He has the ability to adapt to your specific fitness needs which was not an easy task considering what he helped me through this past year.
I'm sharing my experience to say don't wait. Training with Mike was hands down one of the best decisions I have made and I highly recommend chatting with him to see how he can help you as well!

Mike was my trainer at a local gym years ago. Most recently, I've been participating in his Strength and Mobility classes on Zoom. Mike is a great trainer to work with. After recovering from back surgery and learning that I need to be careful for the rest of my life not to re-injure my back I was afraid to go back to working out. Then corona hit and I was stuck inside becoming lazier as each day past. I was referred to Mike and started working out with him outside and FaceTime as needed.
