Today my 2.5yo daughter was supposed to have her first class - she was sooo excited, but then I had an emergent situation arise and had to leave right when we parked for her 9am class. I called panicked seeing if I could get her in at all today so I didn’t have to break her heart and excitement. The staff were AMAZING - it turned out there was family swim at 1pm that we made it for, and the staff member (wish I remembered her name!) was so sweet and kind to us when we got there. It truly turned a chaotic morning into a fun afternoon - my daughter had so much fun and can’t wait to go back next week! Giant thank you to the staff member that helped us out today and Goldfish for being such a welcoming place. Highly recommend!

I absolutely love Goldfish! My 22 month old has a great time! It's so clean and inviting, and everyone is so wonderful and kind. We always enjoy our lessons! I have definitely seen a difference in the way my daughter interacts with water since we've started. The pool is warm, and the room with the pool is warm too, so you aren't freezing when you get out of the pool. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who can take their kid to swim lessons!

The facility is awesome and the staff super friendly. However, they put 4 children in a lane for a 30 minute session. That is 7.5 minutes of instruction time. $38 per session so it’s about $5 per minute. Just too high !

We LOVE Gold Fish swim school in Peters Township! Coach Joel and Coach Derek run a wonderful business. They truly focus on their students and care so much for them. All three of our grandchildren have attended this school over the past 7 years. Each is very different in personality and all three have loved learning to swim there. We have had lots of excellent teachers in this time. Our youngest is 4 years old now and doing extremely well with Coach Maria. He loves her and we do too. This is a super friendly and responsible place for children to learn to swim!

We've been there a few times for family swims. The facility is kept up well and is clean. The water is practically balmy although the salt takes some getting used to. Everyone was friendly to us. Adequate room in the bath rooms and changing rooms to change the toddler, and drying machines for swimsuits. Not do they keep the lobby cool though...

The kids learn super quickly, they have definitely worked out the most effective way to teach kiddos to swim. Everyone is very friendly and all the swimmers have a great time. It's a diverse environment that is very encouraging. My kiddo went from being scared to put his face in the water to swimming the entire lane in just 4 months. I think this is super fast, since the classes are 30 mins once a week!!!

Our local Goldfish is beyond awesome! The staff (Ms Nina, Mr Derrick, Mr. Joel and everyone) are so friendly and always looking out for my little one (the staff also always seems to be working…very hard - tidying up or otherwise, and the place is always spotless!). My little was very afraid of the water and has made such progress in the past year since we’ve been taking lessons. Can’t recommend this place enough (would give 10 stars if I could!).

Nina at the front desk was extremely knowledgeable and kind because she fixed twice a class reservation that was twice messed up by someone from the call center. Beth and Rigil have also been wonderful swimming teachers to our son, Patrick. Joel, who I believe is a manager, is always helpful and has a genuine smile even when he helps out with the lifeguard jobs at the pool while pointing to the other team members to stay focused on pool safety. We are extremely happy to be members at this McMurrary location and most importantly Patrick now loves swimming and he genuinely enjoys being in the pool due to Goldfish and the team members here! Thank you Nina, Beth, Rigil and Joel for a consistent wonderful 5 star experience on every visit!

I gave up with following to cancel my son’s registration. He got back to back Covid and flu, he is not able to continue his lesson for few months. I tried to cancel registration through portal but it is asking for 30 days notice. How come medically know the situation 30 days before. I lost one month fees because of some policy. Now I paid $153 can I ask my son to come to session to spread flu to everyone, is it what expectation?. I tried to call school but they are saying branch manager will reach out to me, but only $153 auto debit reached to my account. Actually I like school, coaches and environment. But I am not having pleasant experience on exit formalities, I thought of re registering sooner but I am not going to consider for future, what ever money lost it is lost, I will considered that this for this trainers who took care of my son. 2 years of relationship has ended bitterly .

Make sure you’re crystal clear with Goldfish Academy when cancelling service. A month ago we attempted to cancel our lessons with Goldfish academy (continued price hikes were no longer acceptable) through their app. We stopped going as a result. A few weeks later we were billed by Goldfish. When we called to inquire about the new bill, they told us we did not cancel through the proper channel. As a result we were billed for 2 months of service we didn’t use or want.

When trying to cancel through their β€œproper channel” via the app we found we have to wait another month until service can be cancelled. We are now out nearly $300 because of Goldfish’s shoddy policies and faulty technology.

Consequently I cannot and will not recommend Goldfish Academy to anyone looking for swim lessons.

Goldfish Swim School in Peters Township is a wonderful place to learn swim skills and safety. They are friendly and greet my son and I by name. Their makeup policy is very convenient with the multiple class times to pick from as well as their understanding of busy schedules and giving plenty of time to make up the classes. Goldfish also has clean facilities and the temperature of the pool is a great plus.

The facility is impressively organized with a pleasant, themed environment. There are numerous activities to keep kids entertained while waiting for their siblings to swim, including coloring, chalkboards, a fish tank, a small store, and a snack bar. Additionally, they offer spinners for drying clothes and have ample changing rooms available. Lessons typically consist of two to four students, but the primary concern is that in a 30-minute lesson, they only spend approximately 7 minutes on actual swimming, leaving a desire for more swimming time during the lessons.

The classes are not 30 mins, it's 25 and with 4 :1 student coach ratio, do your math of how much each child actually ends up swimming/ learning in 4 classes a month which is $140, (the new year pricing) and that's not cheap. They have changing rooms, 12 make up Classes a year and being an indoor pool , it's heated, which are the plus points. Which coach your child gets in purely one's luck as one never knows which coach is good as most of their coaches are students themselves, who may be there for a short while. If your child's school or your community/ county/ borough/ school district has a swim program , have them join it bcoz they are cheap and they won't drag the classes as they have a schedule to stick with vis-a-vis private swim schools who may aim to make profit by adding months to a 1/2/3 month classes in a level, which only increases the cost.

We loved the time our daughter, a very beginning swimmer, spent at Goldfish. Our instructor, Mr. Mitchell, was very engaged and present. He would have our daughter do something, offer immediate and useful feedback, and then have her try again right away, giving her the opportunity to correct and practice her skills. She’s been to a couple different places and Goldfish is, by far, the one that has been the most productive for her. We unfortunately had to quit due to starting kindergarten.

Took my 15mo son to a trial lesson recently in the MINI class, which is think is anyone under 2 years old. It was a decent sized area boxed off with four families and the two instructors. The facility is very nice and I was excited to get started. One challenge that I fully recognize is out of anyone's control is the chaos of it all. Families everywhere with 12 lanes and almost all of them being used. Immediately, my son was just taken aback. Sucks, but there's nothing that can be reasonably be done with that.

My main complaint here was the way they designed the toddler class. 30 minute lessons and they try to cram AS MUCH LESSON IN AS THEY CAN. In the water! BAM! Floaty toy! BAM! DONE! Up and down! BAM! DONE! On the board! BAM! DONE! We, no joke, did at least 8 activities in those 30 minutes. By the time we finally starting to get accustomed to one, we switched to something completely different. This is not how you teach a toddler. Toddlers are supposed to take every second they can to enjoy the process. "If they want to spend 5 minutes looking at bugs, let them spend 5 minutes looking at bugs." To completely disregard that and create utmost chaos is only setting new families up for failure. I understand that different families have been there for more months or whatever, and I understand that kids have different abilities, but the "school" should have set the bar at the baseline, not at the goal. Those who are more experienced can freestyle, give me the 101.

In summary, if you have a toddler and are interested, check it out. Do the trial class. Just ignore everything the instructor does and work at entirely your own pace. Create a bubble for your kiddo to be comfortable in and block everything else out. Surprisingly, nobody will tell you this before you enter the warzone that is the actual lesson.

Our son, Patrick, who is 3 years old has been going to Goldfish Swim School in Peters Township for over 6 months and we are thrilled with the progress he has been making. Joel and Monica in management have been leading by example in terms of excellent customer service and went well beyond what’s expected to help us with any questions and suggestions. And everyone at the front desk is really helpful and caring. We had several different swimming teachers because we kept on changing our schedule and they were all top notch. Our favorite teacher is Leo but our son loved all of them. And most importantly, he was graduated to juniors level 2 from juniors level 1 after only 3 months, which is a testament of how good of a job all the teachers have been doing. Our son now loves playing in the water and he already has basic swimming skills, which is primarily due to GoldFish SwimSchool. Half an hour per week was plenty of swimming exposure for a 3 year old and just watching him learn from the other children in the class in addition to the wonderful teachers, has been such a thrill. Thank you Goldfish Swim School in Peters Township!

Overall, I have had a great experience with Goldfish Swim in Peters with my Mini. Super friendly staff, clean environment, a good variety of classes, and the pool water is always a perfect temperature. Highly recommend to help your little one(s) ease into swimming.

For the most part they do an ok job teaching a little ones how to swim. However some of the policies are actually very dangerous to children’s well-being while in the pool . My issue with this company and the people that run it. None of the policies that upper management has put in place rules to keep children safe or ever communicated to the actual employees that need enforce them and explain them. This leaves customers in the dark when it comes to payments, making up appointments, and even keeping your child safe in the pool. I once had to struggle getting myself my son (5 months at the time) out of the pool while putting a mask onto taking it off. The employee was totally not not informed that the rule was when entering and exiting two people could be on the pool deck helping. As they just stare there and watch me struggle and almost have my son slipped out of my hands. I’m also not a crazy Covid person I have no problem wearing a mask especially around children who can’t get vaccinated but this just seems like it’s causing parents to put their child safety on the back burner.

The final problem is with billing and make up appointments. None of the employees understand the rules and regulations that the ownership is set up not one of them. My wife and talk to somebody at the front desk and called and tried to cancel her membership 45+ days before the next Billing. You guessed it couldn’t cancel when I was charged once again. In the fine print you have to make up your appointments within 30 days or you just continue to be billed, and rack up lessons. I was told by management I would have to use 11 or 12 appointments in a 30 day span. The reason we canceled was my son how are your infections and diarrhea would you rather us put our child in the pool in that condition?

Again it looks like a nice pool the staff is nice but it is run absolutely horribly I can’t believe this place is still in business. If you’re in the area well I would suggest doing is going to the upper Saint Clair community center that’s another option that’s close.

Little value for the money. With a 4:1 ratio each child gets about 7 minutes of instruction per session. At this rate it will take my child years to learn how to swim. I was able to find private swim lessons for only $8 more per lesson. The private lessons will provide a full 30 minutes of one on one instruction. Much better value!!!!

The facility is very clean an organized and the instructors are all EXCELLENT. We have zero complaints about the quality of education. HOWEVER With a 30 minute class each week, and up to 3 students total per teacher our son only receives anywhere from 10-15 minutes of actual physical participation. I understand and agree that the children learn and benefit alot by watching one another as they learn. I wish the classes were at least 45 minutes long. As soon as they start to really make progress for the day, it's time to leave so that the next class can start. It feels rushed. We're very happy with the progress our son is making, but believe he'd be making more progress at a better rate if the classes were just a little bit longer. We also don't like that only one parent per student can attend. I understand that they need to keep the number of people in the building down due to covid regulations. But every week there are empty seats. If my husband and I both want to come and there's an abundance of empty seats, they should make an exception. If we both show up and there's not enough room one of us could wait in our vehicle.

Every class my daughter takes, the instructor keeps her engaged, shares her victories and supports her through her struggles. I will never leave Goldfish for any other program!

I was concerned about the potential value of lessons at Goldfish Swim School and after more than a month of lessons for my kids, I see now that these folks provide a good value. The kids are constantly being evaluated to assure progress is being made. The school has out in place reasonable protocols for dealing with COVID-19, and the management is easy to work with for helping to resolve schedule changes when kids graduate to the next level up. Overall, my kids are learning at a good rate and I'm happy to be their customer.
