I used to love going to this gym, it had just the right equipment and space for a small local gym for a quick good workout. Unfortunately, I learned via social media that it closed down. I personally did not receive a warning email. They stopped charging April-June due to Covid, but looks like all active memberships were transferred to the Whitehall location due to the closing. I will sadly have to cancel my membership since that location isn't convenient for my fitness goals. I was charged the same $10 a month for July and most likely will be for August. The Allentown webpage still says it's open, but the phone number is disconnected. Although I would have supported the now closed Allentown Gym, I'm looking for a new gym post-covid.

Loved going here while it was open. Then they shutdown without any explanation. Not even a mass email. Heard it's closed for good. Went to golds in Whitehall and a company was there taking any Golds Gym signs out front. Time to find a new gym.

(The pictures posted are not of this gym) Its your basic gym. Its has plenty of treadmills and work out machines. Not much room for Cleans or Deadlifts if a class is in session. Not very sanitary, as you have to walk up to the front desk to get paper towels, I observed many people not wiping down the equipment after use. You can get what you need done here.

Nothing special but gets the job done, typical mix of cardio machines and lifting weights. Membership is very reasonably priced but that's about it. One note the pictures shown by owner are not for this location.

No a bad gym, however nothing like the other golds gym. Has the basics in terms of what you need to get the job done. So if you're in these super fancy gyms stay away, but if you just want to workout and go home come join.

It's a Gold's Gym, they have weights, cardio machines, fitness classes, muscle heads, and a bunch of people that think they are fitness professionals. So, pretty much every Gold's ever. New management is nice and actually cares about customers.

Old outdated equipment. No hand sanitizer or paper towels to wipe equipment down. Itβs unreal how LOUD so many guys talk here. I can hear them even with my head phones blasting. Your typical mix of newbies and seasoned lifters. And of course a few that think this is their own person gym and line up 6 sets of dumbells or try to monopolize 3 pieces of equipment scattered throughout the gym and camp out on them and text on the phone.

Great location, friendly staff, and wide range of equipment available. Thereβs dozens of treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and recently a few stair climbers, as well as a dark air conditioned room for watching random movies during cardio.
Despite the above average cost for the area, the facility provides a good service to its clientele.
It however slaps on a binding initial period, and makes it quite difficult to cancel a membership by outsourcing billing to an automated company in Arizona and not allowing oneself to cancel in person through the gym itself. Instead thereβs plenty of hoops to jump through, and 30 day notice requirement.

Super hot! Smells like balls and mostly cardio equipment. Besides that, itβs a gym. Members have been extremely nice, showers are ok but never saw anyone wipe down a machine after use and they donβt supply paper towels to clean equipment with. I usually bring my own towel to do so. Oh and staff has been super nice!

I use to like this GYM a lot until they started removing the paper towels to wipe down the machines when your done working out or before. They give you 1 white towel after 1st use it was black. The bathroom smells like there is about 50 people in there at once working out smells horrible. The equipment needs updating. For 25 dollars a month its not even worth it once you walk in smells like nobody wears deodorant.

One of the better hardcore gums to which I've been. There's a nice mix of competitive bodybuilders, college and strength athletes, and normies, and everyone gets along well. It's an awesome atmosphere in which to train.

I've trianed at many gyms in the Lehigh Valley and Gold's is by far my favorite. The price is very reasonable and the staff is super friendly. The atmosphere there is also very laid back. It is also clean and the machines are well kept. The Gold's I'm a member at is on Lehigh Street in Allentown.

I liked this gym for the most part. It's not the biggest and not the smallest. It's crowded only at certain times, not chronically, but the cardio or aerobics room is often free for use. Equipment is pretty standard, but no super new either. Fair amount of cute guys. Always a good thing. Gym could have a cleaner look though. Other than that it's only ten bucks a month.

I been a golds gym member for over 2 years and I been visiting this location and I noticed that they removed all the paper towels to clean the machines and for us to dry up the sweat. I am very disappointed. I hope the management team take care of this.

BEWARE! They charged my credit card for a membership I opted out of. My credit card company reversed the charges, but they keep trying to push more charges through. DO NOT TRUST this gym!

This review is for all the weight-lifting bros out there.
Be warned that this gym is about 75% cardio machines and then maybe 25% rinky-dink isolation machines and a variety of VERY OLD weights and dumbbells. The main problem with this is: there is just one real squat cage that seems to be taken regardless of the time of day. Then, there's no deadlift station and no space to make one when the place is busy (which is most of the time based on the small number of times I went before becoming disgusted and cancelling; more below). If you're going to overhead press or clean, good luck finding space to do it on an Olympic bar.
I went to another Gold's for years and have never seen anything this--ancient weights and horrible distribution of equipment (dozens of treadmills but one ancient squat rack? really?). Also, the memberships are serviced through a third party, meaning you cannot cancel in the gym - it took over an hour on the phone to get cancelled. And the place is HOT. Nothing wrong with sweating, but just another thing to consider when wondering what your membership fees are going towards, because it sure isn't equipment and weights.
In closing: if your gym needs skew towards your big four lifts (deads, squats, bench, press) then consider yourself warned; you will be frustrated. If you are a cardio bunny, consider this a dream come true. There are not many gym options in the area, so perhaps that's partly why this Gold's can get away with this craziness. Anyway, hope this helps!

Everywhere I travel across the country, I can use my gold's Gym membership at any facility. I'm not here to criticize the bathrooms or staff, I'm here to work out. As long as the machines are working properly and I have room to park my tractor trailer, I'M GOOD. People, quit complaining and burn some calories. πͺ

As joining this gym, I had no knowledge where to start from and unfortunately neither the receptionist had. I had to ask people around. It's poor management could lead this gym to a failure
