Located in the heart of Mt. Lebanon’s Beverly Road shopping district, we are a non-profit, educational facility that focuses on incorporating the principles of yoga into everyday life. We offer traditional Hatha yoga classes for all levels of experience. Additionally, we seek to provide an overall awareness of how we can find more balance in our day to day activities. We also offer a full range of healing services, including massage therapy, Reiki therapy, Acupuncture, and Ayurvedic lifestyle consultations. Through a variety of programs and workshops throughout the year, we hope to educate our students on how to create opportunities for happiness and overall well-being.

Every yoga instructor is excellent! The space is lovely and they do not put too many people in the room. If you do not want hot yoga this is hands down the place to go!

I was taking Yoga classes in Europe and in many places in USA, with great, knowledgeable, caring instructors, Kara Heinrich is one of those!!! Her class is easy to follow, with modifications for all the levels, excellent transitions from pose to pose and a mild, yet effective workout to wake -up forgotten muscles!

Good yoga training. However, some people there have a Messiahs complex.

The Himalayan Institute of Pittsburgh is a great place to learn and practice Hatha Yoga. The instructors are very good at teaching proper postures and techniques. I felt a little intimidated in the beginning being a male in a female dominated environment, but the teachers and other students were very warm, welcoming, and full of encouragement. Yoga has made a huge difference in my physical and mental well being.
Thank you HIP!

The Himalayan Institute of Pittsburgh offers an inclusive and welcoming environment for anyone looking for balance, wellness and calm. With a variety of workshops, classes and educational opportunities, the HIP serves as a supportive presence to those who are regulars or those who are brand-new to the path to wellness. The HIP is where I began my yoga journey and I owe a lot to the community for helping me find a safe, peaceful space to channel mindfulness that I can take with me outside of the studio. Namaste!

Most traditional yoga studio in town. Offers great asana classes but also so much more. This is what sets it apart from other studios. Check out Ashley’s Hatha 2 class on Saturday morning and you’ll see what I mean.

I love this studio! I had been away from yoga for 10 years, and very anxious about making it part of my routine again. Upon searching around I thought I would give this studio a try, considering it’s history and longevity. I am so glad I did! I was instantly welcomed by not only the teachers but the students as well. Everyone at this studio is so genuine, kind and open to new and old students. Every teacher provides a practice that is true yoga.. not a sweaty workout or a Lululemon competition. I highly recommend this studio to students of all levels and strengths if you want a true yoga experience and the opportunity to explore so much more in overall wholeness and wellbeing. This studio has everything in addition to its wonderful, talented people! Thank you to Kate and all of the beautiful teachers there. Namaste.
