Coach Kal has been able to help me change the way I approach my daily workouts as a 40+ year old Dad but also has assisted my 13 year old son with learning the proper way to train and get stronger.
Kal is meticulous with his daily approach to maximizing each workout but also making sure we are working each part of our body but at the same time explaining how we approach each workout.
It has taken a good amount of time to find a trainer that listens to how you feel each day and then works with you to make sure you get the best out of your body and recover correctly each and every day.
Thanks Kal: The Saxton’s

KPA has helped take my performance on the field to the next level. I have no doubt that I will achieve all my goals under the guidance of Coach Kal. This is more than a one size fits all program. KPA pays Individualized attention to where an athlete wants to grow and then helps them to excel.

I’ve been dealing with a low back injury and sciatica pain for a few years and started training with the Kalinowski Performance Academy (KPA) last year after physical therapy wasn’t working for me any longer. Today, I can’t believe the progress I’ve made since training with John/“Coach Kal”. He took the time to understand my pain and worked closely with me to develop a personal training plan tailored to my specific needs. I’ve had the opportunity to participate in both group and individual sessions, and he’s helped to significantly reduce my sciatica pain to nearly zero and helped me focus on building up my strength. I am now back to my active self and able to do regular workouts and running again. The personalized attention, expertise, and the support I have received at KPA have been unmatched. Highly recommend John at KPA to anyone looking to overcome injury or pain and or wanting to improve their overall health and fitness.

My 11yr old son broke his tibia and fibula. He had surgery and pins put in his leg. He was non weight bearing for 6 weeks then moved to a boot. He was leaving physical therapy three times a week feeling deflated and never stronger. We met with Coach Kal. He evaluated my son and talked to us about many other athletes he has helped overcome injuries and work their way back to their sport. Within one week with Coach Kal we started seeing our outgoing confident kid again. Coach Kal and Zach not only made our son physically stronger but they improved his overall mental state from his injury. They helped him through the mental trama of it all. It was amazing to watch this all unfold and I will be forever impressed with this gym and its trainers.

Kal is terrific! I’m so fortunate to have found him. He’s professional, experienced, patient and upbeat. With his careful design of exercises, my severe sciatica pain of 3 months disappeared very quickly. I will continue his exercises to maintain core strength & good balance. At 80 I’m extremely grateful.

Coach Kal is bigger than just a strength coach, he's a leader and mentor and someone who values the whole person. He has always been someone who teaches the whole person and since l started going to him in 9th grade I have grown as a man. His development approach is personal and he treats everyone he encounters as family. Im so fortunate that I was blessed to get coached and taught the skills I know today in life and in sports by coach Kal and the foundation he set me for me has put me in the position I'm in today

"THE DOCTOR" – Kal, the best in the business and a true blessing from GOD!
I vividly recall the first time I met Kal. I was pedaling on a stationary bike, my skin was leaking when I caught sight of a serious bald man with a powerful goatee. He had the aura of someone who possessed deep knowledge of strength training. Trust me I know, I’ve spoken to the best strength minds, even Louie Simmons the legend. Intrigued, I inquired with my O-line coach about him. "He's the new baseball strength coach," he informed me. Before long, the baseball team members were visibly more shredded and stronger. I thought to myself, "No, no, we need this expertise."
Fast-forward to my senior year, I stepped into the gym, and it felt like a divine gift. There he was – THE DOCTOR, John Kalinowski, in the flesh! His guidance transformed my game entirely. From an ex baseball 215-pound center fielder, I bulged to a solid 260, my bench press soaring from 315 to an astounding 405 for 3 by the end of my senior year.
I recall a junior year ankle sprain that sidelined me for four weeks, with my coaches dubious of the severity. Yet, when a worse sprain hit me the following year, Kal worked his magic, and I was back – faster and stronger – in just a week, finishing the year with All-Catholic, All Bucks honors. That’s when I had to change this man’s name in my phone. I deleted my primary physician’s name and strictly had one Doctor in my phone! The man himself!
Kal didn't just prepare me for college; he turned me into a 330-pound beast capable of 30 pull-ups, a 30-inch vertical, a 40-inch box jump, a 515-pound bench press, and a 650-pound squat (we stopped for safety, but 800 was within reach, LOL).
But Kal's impact goes beyond just strength coaching; he's an exceptional friend and mentor. I'm eternally grateful for Kal. He's the one who tunes out the noise and stands by you when others turn away. When I failed my physical in Baltimore and everyone else counted me out, Kal was the one messaging me, eager to know when we'd get back to work. He not only strengthened my body but also fortified my mind, for which I will forever praise God.
Without Kal, I wouldn't have achieved All-Catholic honors, nor would I have made it to Division I, and certainly not to the NFL! I'm not one for long speeches, but trust me, this is a slam dunk – Kal is the real deal. No matter the sport, tell him your goals, and he'll make them a reality.
Every day, I thank God for Kal, "THE DOCTOR" – the man who transformed me and countless others. If you're serious about your athletic journey, Kal is your man. Hands down, the best decision you'll ever make! Heck, it was the best I ever made!

Training with Kal has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Going on my 10th year at KPA, Coach Kal has been a crucial part of recovering from abdominal surgery, injury prevention, preparing for a collegiate & professional baseball season, and my overall health.
Understanding each individual is different, Coach Kal goes well out of his way with passion to tailor a plan for each client. No one goes unnoticed. Being around KPA for some time, it is awesome to see the growth and watch Kal’s clients surpass their goals.
He has worked assiduously with local athletes to exceed their goals of playing their respective sport at the NCAA level or higher (MLB & NFL players both current & alumni included, I’m sure I’m missing other sports) and the list is ever-growing. Tennis, bowling, soccer, gymnastics, body building, you name it, he will get you to the next level.
If training comes up in conversation, my first and only recommendation is to train at KPA. Go see for yourself!

A huge shout to Kalinowski Performance Academy! It’s tough for young adults/teenagers to navigate through these developmental years with all the social media pressure, bullying, depression and FOMA (fear of missing out). KAP has been an amazing experience. John (owner) has genuine empathy and knows how to motivate young people. I’ve seen such an amazing change in my kid, who now looks forward to the gym every day, feels great about himself and has seen positive changes in both body and mind. Thank you John Kalinowski for being a great part of this community. I hope you know the impact you are making in so many young lives. Thank you for providing a safe place where our young boys/girls can find inspiration and positive affirmation. Keep it up! I highly recommend!

Kal is the best in the industry. I’ve been to many strength coaches over my years of middle school/high school football and he’s the best. Not only did he help me achieve physical results but he also helped my mindset. Would recommend Kal to anyone! 💪🏻💪🏻

John is the best trainer ever! He takes it upon himself to know everyone's physical limitations and adjusts the workouts for them accordingly. He'll never know how much that is appreciated.
