Ive been part of Koa for 6 months now and Ive never felt so welcome at a gym like I feel here. In my first class, I feel supported and everyone was so helpful. Sage is an amazing coach and she's so patient and knowlegdeable, her team of coaches are supportive, and friendly. At the end of every workout, all of us hype each other. I love that. I was able to make a few friends.
There's variety in the classes, I also enjoy the community and special events on holidays. I totally recommend this gym😊😊

I have been a member at KOA for about 3 months and I couldn't be happier! The 10 days for $10 was the perfect intro option for me, I was able to get a feel for the classes, community, and the coaches. There are a number of well priced membership options - something for everyone. KOA is extremely welcoming and suitable for people of all experience and ablity levels. I strongly recommend it!!

Whether you're a novice looking for guided classes or someone experienced in lifting and looking for a gym with professional equipment, this is a great place. Always clean and ample amount of equipment. For a smaller space they utilize it very well and you never feel like you're crowded.

Koa is a fantastic space that will surely meet all of your workout wants/needs! The strength and conditioning classes are structured, organized, and led by super knowledgeable/helpful/supportive coaches!
As someone with limited mobility I have found that Koa fosters a super inclusive environment. They are quick to offer up exercise alternates for any exercise that could prove to be challenging based on mobility. All replacement exercises target the same muscle groups and accommodate anyone and everyone!
Couldn’t recommend enough! Get your membership asap!

I would highly recommend giving Koa a try regardless of your gym experience!
I started attending the group fitness classes as a gym novice who had never touched a barbell before. Coach Sage's fantastic workouts and helpful guidance let me safely develop the basics to feel comfortable around the gym. The workouts are designed to be challenging, fun, and scalable - anyone can attend and have a tough but rewarding experience. The fantastic Koa community is the icing on top - everyone is super friendly and inclusive. Unlike other gyms, I always feel motivated to attend my classes and excited to see others around the class. It says volumes that one of the toughest parts of moving away from the neighborhood was leaving Koa.

Feels more like a community than a gym and takes the guesswork out of exercise. Coaches are kind, programming is efficient, and Sage goes out of her way to make sure each member is reaching their personal goals. Love it here!

As a long time member and a much more recent addition to the coaching team, I cannot speak highly enough about Koa. The workouts and programming are meticulously crafted to be appropriately challenging yet scalable for all levels. They're approachable and yet I leave feeling so proud after each one!
As great as the workouts are, the people and the community are what truly makes this such a special place. In a time where third spaces have become a bit of a buzzword, Koa's membership lives these values day-in and day-out, by showing up consistently for themselves, the gym, and each other. You won't regret spending an hour of your day here and may just find yourself coming more than you thought :)

Koa Strength is an awesome space for all your workout needs. There are options for group fitness classes (my personal favorite), personal training, as well as open gym to do your own thing.
The community is fantastic - super supportive, inclusive, and there’s a great amount of camaraderie built here!
Sage does an excellent job building workouts and thoroughly explaining the moves to properly target muscle groups and provide you a challenge. There’s always a way to modify a move that will still provide a challenge and keep you safe.
Would highly recommend!

I’ve been going to Koa about a month now and I have nothing but great things to say. From the programming to atmosphere, the whole experience has been great, and has really motivated me to get back to being me after a decent time away from the gym. All workouts are modifiable up or down, and I feel challenged without feeling like Im doing more then I can handle.
Whether you’re coming from a background of Barbells/Olympic lifting or brand new to it all, Sage and the rest of the members of Koa are all so welcoming. Im so glad that I decided to try Koa out when I did!

A list of reasons you shouldn't join Koa:
* You like to wander aimlessly around a bland corporate gym
* You enjoy doing the same three lifts every workout
* You don't like to make progress towards your fitness goals
* You like to injure yourself with bad form and zero guidance
* You hate having fun while working out
And a list of reasons you should:
* You want to feel supported by your coach and your neighbors
* You want to feel stronger, healthier, and more comfortable in your own body, even if the numbers don't go up today
* You want to learn how to safely go well beyond what you thought you could do, every session
* You want to meet and work out with Sage, literally the best coach in Philadelphia

Koa is a phenomenal place to workout and be a part of a supportive community. Sage incorporates a wide range of strength and mobility exercises into a comprehensive and challenging fitness program that gets results. Workouts include olympic lifting, power lifting, kettlebells, and dynamic conditioning movements, and Sage is very knowledgeable in teaching the movements and scaling exercises to every level of skill and fitness. Best of all it is a very supportive and affirming community that welcomes everybody and is a great place to get fit and stay strong.

I have been with Sage at KOA for 1.5 years! I can wholeheartedly say that Coach Sage has been a complete GAMECHANGER for my vitality!! I joined in January 2023 with zero weightlifting & strength experience, but still physically fit really only ever playing sports & distance running / cardio. When I finally decided I need to start weightlifting, I did a ton of research & listened to so many podcasts as I really wanted to start off the right way, especially as I was doing so from scratch. This also helped ease me in too as I also came in super nervous and scared about lifting.
From my very first discussions with Sage, her mentality and the programming aligned exactly with the some of the best approaches & methodologies I found through my research. As a beginner, she really mentored me on proper form, balancing between max effort & slower movement, breathing, the science behind different workouts, how to deal with injuries that come up, etc. Not to mention, she runs a fun class too!
Very grateful to Sage for giving me an an amazing foundation for my overall fitness & vitality.
