It’s mostly fine. Good gym with enough variety of options for weightlifting compared to Planet Fitness. There is definitely a consistency regarding a things that seem to constantly be under repair or under maintenance in some capacity or another.

LA Fitness is a great gym. I have been going to LA Fitness for over ten years. The staff is very nice and friendly especially Samantha. She greets me every night when I walk in the door and leave. She is constantly smiling and always in a great mood. Very pleasant and nice to talk to. She is the reason I come in at night. I would recommend LA Fitness to everyone.

Please fixed sauna and steam room and make sure the hot tub also hot not warm !! Very disappointed it these things are not working . This is one big reason I come to this club .

Haha ! I didn’t know I need to paid $40 to this club. But I want to know what is the difference with other club ? I am only use the pool . And yes they have steam room . So I want to know what $15 more ? And those steam room and hot tube always down .
It’s ok I can go to other club using same things . Again what is that extra $15 for ?just because you call this location ( Signature club )that a ripped off !

Great gym. I can either HIIT on the turf, jog on the treadmills or traditionally lift with the free weights. Happy about the option to use bumper plates too. Great staff! The front desk people are very professional.

¡ BE AWARE ! When signing up for “PROFESSIONAL TRAINING SESSIONS ” you won’t be able to cancel it for any reason and you will be stuck paying bunch of money without getting the service afterwards .
I tried to cancel it due to health issues recently which my condition worsened over the course of each days from training and I started having problems sleeping at night so I decided to speak to them about it so they came up with a solution of getting a note from the doctors if I no longer can train with them.. I went to see my doctor and got a letter explaining my issue. I handed to them so they could upload it to the corporate which they handled all this training contract and membership (gladly I had the chance to cancel the regular membership with no issue I believe) and got told that within a week I would get an email response. A week passed and got an email from the corporate stating that they didn’t received such documents about my HEALTH ISSUE ..Hmm OOOKAAYY? When back to then and asked what happened? they told me that my letter “ WASNT APPROVED DUE TO LACK OF INFORMATION ” and that I had to go back to my doctors and get it again otherwise I would be still getting charged for my training regardless, when I already spent hundreds of dollars getting this letter from the doctors !!!
I asked them if there was any other solution for cancelling it?? (as I’m having problems with my health insurance recently so everything is out of pocket) but … CRICKETS… 🦗 . My health issue is one of my main reasons for cancelling this but also there TRAINERS ARE NOT PROFESSIONALS they do not listen your goals and always rushing your workouts because they are scheduled with other people afterwards or either they quit the establishment leaving weeks without training you until the club gets another trainer in soon. Till this day I’m still getting charged without having any solution to stop it!! (Changing banks or credit card numbers won’t stop them from charging you as they manage to find your info without your consent which I find this very ILLEGAL) Do not make this mistake and do not fall for any training promotion because there’s NONE!! it is just tactical sales just to get you in, save your money !!!

Worst gym ever. Pay more for less. The place is never clean. None of the workers are on top of replacing the wipes when they run out. Pretty sure that’s how I got ringworm…However, the gym does come with really fun amenities: pubes in the shower, could play tic tac toe drawing in the dust on some machines, high turnover staff (don’t blame em), and au naturel floor🥹 (pretty sure no one vacuumed around or under the machines ever), etc. While I much prefer CNN, there are many disappointed FOX fans who can’t find their beloved channels.

While this has tasteful humor, seriously don’t waste your money at this gym.

Never gave a review in my life but here it is, was paying $25 a month for years at LA until I moved to Delco and they had to change my membership to $40 because it is a “SIGNATURE CLUB” HA. It’s small, dirty, no basketball court and for a small price of $10 a month you can use the towels!!! Stuff is always broken that takes 8 months to get fixed. Save your money & go else where

Unfortunately this is a very disturbing review....I stopped by this facility because a friend recommended it and i wanted a tour but what I witnessed the other day changed my mind ...as I pulled up to the gym i noticed five local police cars and multiple officers as I walked in I over heard two unprofessional managers harassing three or four members about some dispute over some memberships. Based on what I saw and heard the two so called managers where rude unprofessional and disrespectful to those members not to mention that they called the police and waisted public officials time over something that could have easily been handled by and customer service professional....needless to say I'm not joining this club .

WOW! If I could give 0 stars I would, Shehryar S is a so called manager at this gym. I've been a loyal LA Fitness member, but my experience with the manager, Shehryar S and previous other managers, has been extremely disappointing. He repeatedly harassed me and my guest over my membership plan, insisting that I needed to pay more even though my membership was already locked in. Even after all of the headache and harassment I have received from Shehryar S and other employees/ managers
I have upgraded my membership and still was harassed after doing so! He rudely interrupted me in the middle of my workout to ask for proof of membership. I explained that he could verify it by checking my login scan from when I first entered the gym. Despite this, he stated that he was going to call the police. When the police arrived I showed both Shehryar S and the police that I am, in fact, a member. The police then turned to Shehryar S, and could not understand why they were being called in the first place. All I wanted was a simple apology, which he would not do.

Instead of focusing on customer service and respect as well as gym quality (cleanliness, up keep on gym equipment) they chose to make us feel unwelcome. This kind of behavior reflects poorly on the entire gym and makes me reconsider continuing my membership here. LA Fitness should seriously address how their management treats members who are simply trying to work out in peace.

I came in as a guest recently to check out LA Fitness and was completely turned off by how the managers and employees treated my friend, who’s already a paying member. He kept harassing them about their membership being “too low” and tried pressuring them to pay more, even though their plan was already locked in.

It was uncomfortable and unprofessional to watch, especially as someone who was genuinely considering joining. After seeing how the manager handled that situation, I’ve decided to stick with Planet Fitness, where members are actually treated with respect.
Also instead of them harassing guest to join their club they should focus on keeping the place clean and regularly dusting equipment and locker rooms.. place was disgusting!

If this is how LA Fitness management operates, I can’t imagine how they treat new members.

Never experienced anything like this in the last 8+ years at Planet Fitness!

HOW IN THE WORLD DOES NAMED ABOVE CALL THE POLICE
Wasting our townships police officers time like they have nothing better to do then to find out the managers there are basically clueless and lazy in doing there work properly.
All we want to do is come and work out and these new employees come and harass us in paying more money as like the 15 employees that quit in the past did.
Its embarrassing to the gym and its patrons to work out and see five police officers come in and sit out front as us members were being harassed by the employees for no reason at all.
We were forced to go to other gyms until named above was forced to leave us alone and would like to be compensated in months of free memberships. until then this will NOT be taken down

This place amazes me as employees here (name above) are a revolving door and yet we have new employees to this great organization come in and try to play big salesmen to members who have paid monthly for years and these special new employees try to force them the idea of SIGNATURE membership fees of $50 additional a month.

We came in to work out the other day only to get attacked by named above and even threatened us to call the cops. He forced us as members to leave that morning to go to the EDGE in Newtown Square to work out one day and Planet Fitness another where they also greeted us in open arms.
I know about 30 people that are members in this La fitness that are grandfathered in and pay what they paid at other LA fitness at start up.
We asked for contracts signed and have not yet seen any of our contracts.
We were told for the last 2 years that we will not be bothered and left alone only to get new employees in there to start problems as all we want to do is spend one hour there.
They know they are wrong in this matter and we will be going to DA s office if not rectified.

It’s sad when you consider this is the one “signature” location and you have to pay extra just to this one - there’s no dry sauna, there was a week when there were no working water fountains, it’s your guess whether or not towels will actually be available when you arrive, when they fill the soap bottles with water when they run out of body wash, and the personal trainers are loud and wrong when it comes to their sessions - you’re better off going to the KOP location if you can

I want to start by saying Andrew is super nice and helpful! I did an online free pass trying to find myself a new gym in the area. I will say the gym is SUPER dirty…. Looks like it hasn’t been cleaned or vacuumed for months. Andrew did say they have a janitor that comes in daily but I’m not sure what that janitor does because there’s hair, trash, and dust bunnies everywhere. I liked the gym but didn’t sign up for these reasons.

I would never join here, almost didn’t wanna workout. Everything was dirty.
First thing in the morning as soon as the door is open soil towels from the previous day open water bottles workout drinks, half filled bottles just left out sweat dust and dirt all over the machines. It’s totally different from when this first place opened up now they treat it like a new car Only the first couple of weeks do you care? Management should look into this.

My son recently came up from DC for a visit & needed a gym with a pool (he was on a strict training schedule for a half Ironman). I’ve been a member of LA Fitness since the early 2000’s & told him to see if he could go to the one that I go to in Broomall. Shehryar & Andrew were happy to accommodate him & my son was thrilled he could get that swim in. Well, last weekend my son completed the half Ironman so I thanked Shehryar for being so helpful. He said “oh I remember him! Any time he’s up here we’ll make it work for him”. Nice to have such amazing managers who are here to help! Thanks again!

Does it get to the point where an employee of a big corporation can't answer a simple question regarding on guest pass without having to make a big deal out of it like I was disrespecting him? I was in with my friend, getting ready to re-signup so I can be able to go with him, but this gentleman came up led us to his table pitched his sale, so I looked at my friend and somehow he thought I was the reason my friend didn't get the package that he offered, " If you're not gonna be on a level of respect, you need to get out of here " " Do you wanna stay in LA Fitness or go back to Planet Fitness ", now I don't know what made him this angry to have to bully me into the spot like that. I mean it is okay that the LA Fitness doesn't want my money, but is it being a member n non-member get treated differently that bad? Anybody thinking of bringing a friend, family member, or relative for a tour make sure you have a guest privilege and not a guest pass otherwise you might ended up like me leaving in embarrassment because I was a non-member better get your membership up!!

This location has a large parking lot, They gym itself looks cleans, and there is a variety of equipment. My only issies are that ALL he wipes are slways empty, there are no concerns about fixing the hot tub and steam room, and the bathrooms need to be cleaned, more often

Update: 5/8/25- This place just keeps getting worse. Steam room has been down for a month, condescending signage at the front desk. If it wasn't so inconvenient to cancel a membership I probably would have already. Spend your money on some other gym that doesnt charge members for towels, where the amenities actually work, where there is actually someone in charge on site.

The staff is kind and friendly. I have no issues at all with the staff. The work out area is nice. The steam room has not been working properly for over a month and currently smells like a pet shop and is dirty. The showers are also dirty. I can sign up for a gym membership anywhere, I don't pay to work out. I pay for the spa area and haven't been able to use it recently because it doesn't work the way it should. If I don't show up to the gym, I still have to pay for my membership, but if I show up and things I pay for are broken repeatedly or not fixed in the first place it's not like the price of my membership reflects that. It's a little disappointing.

I understand the inconvenience caused by the infrared sauna’s recall, which resulted in its permanent shutdown. My annual maintenance fee was deducted for the year, and the steam room has remained unrepaired for approximately four months.

It is imperative that LA Fitness implements a policy of providing compensation or discounts for extended periods of equipment unavailability, especially when these amenities are essential to the gym’s operations. Currently, Turnersville N.J. And you offer steam rooms.

I joined this gym specifically for the access to the steam room and sauna amenities which has turned out to be disappointing. Since joining this club 10 months ago, both amenities have been closed down several times for long periods of time (months). The selling point of LA Fitness, especially a signature club like this one, is access to the amenities at an affordable monthly rate. If these amenities are a selling factor for you, I would suggest you look elsewhere.

UPDATE despite trying to stick it out at this gym, the management and staff here are just unimaginably unprofessional. The lower level staff was incredibly rude and insulting on the phone when I called for support on my membership. I am cancelling my membership here and would suggest anybody looking for a well managed gym to look elsewhere.

I have been a member of La since 2016 from the Havertown location. Due to them closing that facility they told me and several members that we would be grandfathered in to paying the same amount of $30/monthly when we was transferred to the Broomall signature club. However a year or two ago, the managers constantly harassed me to change my membership by resigning up for the signature amenities it offered. Although I wasn’t happy with that agreement because of false promises made I still resigned up and this time I promised an agreement to that would prevent me from going to other La facilities and remain only at Broomall location by paying the same price. Now for a few years I have noticed the amenities we pay for at the “signature club” is no longer working or have been discontinued. So I don’t understand what am I paying for when my membership is limited to one facility. Absolutely a horrible experience. I will be canceling my membership because this facility has nothing to offer but lies. So to my new members to be, please reconsider this location by making up your mind.

I'll echo the comments of the prior reviewer. The sauna has been out for the entire time i've been there which is 18 months. Actually returned to the gym yesterday after a year hiatus (working out elsewhere) and was hoping the sauna would finally be fixed but instead found it still not working and the steamroom now offline and looking very very rundown - dirty/rust/bent doors etc. Spa is working but is now overcrowded and the surrounding area is run down. Machine wise, its ok but many elliptical and treadmills are broken. Free weights ok. Classes - I guess they have them although I've never really seen any going - so can't say (but suspect its not great).

Just reading through the many recent negative reviews, it is very telling that the management has only responded to the few positive reviews here. Maybe some comments back to your customers who are not satisfied. These aren't nitpicky complaints, its systemic flaws and poor management.

Normally don’t put reviews but I have been coming here for over 2 years, used to be managed well and the amenities were always kept nice. Has really went downhill over the past 6months or so. The men’s dry sauna (assuming women’s too) has been closed for at least 1 and a half years, I’ve heard it’s never reopening, so don’t even consider that getting fixed. The steam room is what I really come here for, and that has now been broken for at least 2 months. Every time they fix it it never shuts off, so they fix it, works for about a week or two; then it breaks. Then it’s closed for 3 months. It’s pretty predictable and has been happening for about a year now, unsure why nobody there has figured this out. Anyway, 2 stars because the gym itself has nice equipment, but so does planet, so without any amenities it is not worth it and ill be looking to get out of my membership.

Sorry, it's a gym w tons of potential! They have a hard time keeping it clean. The machines/nautilus type weights have a ton of dust and debris. Towel service, that you pay extra for, is hit or miss depending on time of day. Too many people use one machine and leave a personal item on a separate machine to keep both machines for their use instead of sharing. Particularly frustrating when there's only one of some equipment. Poor gym etiquette in general. Now some people have stopped going to the locker rooms and just leave literal piles their personal items on a back desk and then take off their outer sweats right there. The locker room is readily available for this purpose.

Been coming to this gym for almost 3 years. Over the past month or two have specifically been very frustrating. Gym doesn’t open on time (multiple times this week alone where someone came late or never showed up to open), the sauna has not been operated in almost a year, and the boiler in the steam room has not been at full service for months now. Even if it does get fixed, it declines rapidly due to exerting its full power consistently. I’m paying the price for a “signature” gym and yet none of the perks or service are available. Great gym decent atmosphere for beginners and regulars. Alot of friendly people and regulars who come here. Very busy during the weekdays if you are wanting to get started here with less crowds i would recommend later in the afternoon after 12 or so on weekends. This location is amazing for sure it has the equipment I needed to grow, I would suggest this place for entry level to mid level people into working out, just be aware though of the sneaky business practice of their personal training package they try to get you hooked into, it’s a contract designed towards them not the consumer and you are not told it will cost to end your training package at 50% of the remaining balance, really really bad business practice for sure. But beyond that it’s a nice small compact gym that has a lot of nice equipment, thus why my 5star review.

LA Fitness has all the weight machines, free weights, and crossfit/HIIT training equipment you may need to complete your workout. There are three studios that offer classes throughout the week, and a pool, hot tub, and steam room round out this location. Ok so I've tried for about 4-6 months to voice complaints at the desk and through reviews but unfortunately no results. The final straw was being followed to my car in the parking lot by the regional manager to ask about "my review" nothing was mentioned about fixing any of the broken equipment or amenities, just that he "saw it" he did have some excuses as to why the sauna and steam room are broken "lawsuit, recall" blah blah but that is hardly the members fault and no discount was offered. I went in today to cancel my membership and to no surprise there was no manager there. I'm very glad that I never renewed my card on file so they can't continue to charge me. Edge in media is very clean, tons of amenities way beyond what la "signature" offered AND it costs less. I also ran in to 4 people at edge who very recently switched for similar reasons. Just glad to be done with LA Broomall and will have no further contact with them. Hopefully this helps other from making the same mistake I did.

I’ve been a member of this location for a few years and unfortunately this last year the quality of both service and overall experience has declined drastically. The gym is frequently dirty and far below standards, the equipment is regularly broken, and now the sauna is closed (according to staff, it’s a cost cutting measure to save on the electric bill). Additionally, I’m charged extra monthly for towel service, but the gym is always out of towels and when in stock, they are dingy and in poor condition. This location went from top tier to bottom of the barrel. I urge corporate and management to revisit making the customer experience their foremost priority.

The club has advised us that the kids club at that location will be permanently closing as of September 4th. They are also closing the sauna.

Myself and the other mothers at the club are very upset about this. We had no advanced notice.

We joined this club because of the amenities offered which included the kids club. I'm sure most of you have families and look forward to having an hour a few times a week to prioritize your health. This is what busy working parents need. However, LA FITNESS SIGNATURE CLUB does not seem to care about that.

I've noticed the slow decline in the quality of the club since it opened. It's very dirty, dustballs sit in the exercise room for years, lack of new classes, etc.,. Ive made over 30 friends in this club and we will all be sad to leave because this is not the quality we expect. La Fitness has done nothing to improve the status of this club. They have not even offered pilates or more fitness classes. They have only let it go by the way side in so many ways. They are not creative.

This club also does not take good care of its instructors nor pays them well. Such a shame.

Because of the prominent area we are in we will be able to find more reputable health centers for ourselves and our families. Such a shame that LA Fitness could not step up to the plate.

Seems crazy that they are allowing this to happen at a signature club but looks like after 15 years I’m going to have to cancel the memberships of my wife and I and the kids club for both my kids. I’ve been going to several LA Fitness clubs for years and I love them for many reasons: convenient locations and hours, fun and varied classes, etc. But I want to specially thank my personal trainer Elijah W. for his outstanding services. I started weight training with Elijah years ago while suffering from chronic neck pain. Elijah customized every session to my particular issues and not only my neck pain went away, but I also feel stronger than ever and very pleased with my personal training sessions with him, to the point of switching from more convenient LA locations when he transferred to the Broomall location. Elija is very professional, knowledgeable, accommodating, and very committed to his costumer’s success. I can’t recommend and thank him enough. Thanks Elijah!!

This location itself is pretty nice with friendly accommodating staff. I don't typically use the showers, but the locker room is generally clean and the steam room is fine but I'm pretty sure the thermometer on it is not working and it's probably not as hot as it should be in there.

My real issue is with LA Fitness the corporation. I was forced to pay for an upgraded membership since this was a signature club, even though I only used it because it was the closest to me. I used the Springfield, PA location for years and didn't cancel my membership even through the pandemic. I moved in that time and wanted only to use the Broomall location once I moved. There's no option for a more affordable membership where I can use just one location. Their big selling point was I can use any LA Fitness in the country, but I don't go to the gym besides in my home area.

The other issue I have is LA's cancellation process. You have to go online fill out a form and physically mail it in to cancel. Clearly trying their best to make it inconvenient to cancel. It's 2023, you can have it done full online but choose not to.

The equipment and work out area is top notch with lots to choose from. I never seem to have to wait long either and always get a fantastic work out in. The cables usually have 1 or 2 broken at any given time because people abuse them but the problem I have is maintenance and cleanliness of the locker room. The showers can be filthy at times with hair, band aids, paper towels etc left in there, and sometimes for days. There is also obvious mold and mildew built up over time that is never addressed. The vents near the hot tub are eye level when sitting in the hot tub and are caked with dirt and grime, clearly never cleaned and disgusting to look at. The steam room is down for maintenance 50% of the time and usually for weeks at a time. It currently is down and has been out of service for 2 weeks. The handle on the door to the steam room has been broken for months and would take anyone 15 minutes to repair. I'm paying full price for spa services that are not always available to me. That can be frustrating. I enjoy coming to LA Fitness but wish there was a lot more attention to cleanliness and maintenance.
