I'm looking for a club to join. I was a member of this location some time ago.
In reading the reviews, I saw many bad reviews and I've heard there true. The funny thing is the management only comments on the good reviews and totally ignore the bad reviews.
IT seems the management condones all the negative things going on.
Check this place off my list.

The La Fitness in the Roosevelt Mall is Amazing. This location is always for clean and organized. There is plenty of space and the machines are perfectly located. The staff, Like Asma, are very attentive and informative, they are always cleaning and sanitizing the facility. I would most definitely recommend this location as your home gym.

Staff are nice, equipment is decent, the lockerrooms/bathrooms could use some more consistent cleaning and maintaining. I go to LA Fitness mainly bc of the sauna, an this location they don't clean the sauna floors regularly, so often there's a layer of mold on the tile underneath the seats that's pretty gross. Hoping they can work on that so more people don't develop issues from mold. I tried telling the staff multiple times but it seems like I've gone ignored, thus why I'm left to post about it here. Open to changing my rating if they more consistently clean up the sauna in particular.

They didn’t withdraw the money from my card. Then they told me, “You need to pay, you have a debt.” But I had already given them my card. They were supposed to take the money from it. I'm sharing for my dad who is older. He just started going back to the gym and today someone stole his glasses. He complained before about his locker being broken into this isn't the first time. So now he doesn't bring anything with him but some today someone decided to take his glasses. I'm glad he decided not to go back and find a new gym so he can enjoy a pool.

I am writing on behalf of the group of regulars who attend Roseann's Body Works Class. We have been going to her very popular Wednesday night class for 11 years. A couple of months ago, Joy Jespersen - a studio director, decided that the class needs to be changed to Pilates. For two months, I have been emailing and calling her, however, she didn't cooperate. Joy gave me some lame excuse why she moved the class, which made no sense at all.

This is a completely unjustified and unnecessary switch. This change is a destruction of a schedule that everyone was used to. Some of the regulars stopped going to the class, and we lost some dedicated members. We feel like we are being ignored and not respected. This is not fair!

I love the people there, the Management group are amazing!
Daisy is a very caring wonderful manager anything I feel that the gym lacks here and there I'll bring it to her attention and Care is taking to it immediately. Very efficient kind and personable. Her and her staff at the desk are hands down one of the best group in a while. The facility is kept clean during the morning hours when I go there and the machines are barely out of service showing up the staff members are right on top of things. For a great workout, join, tons of machines equipment and racquetball courts. Something for all to take your training to the next level.

I like this facility because of the myriad of machines. While a couple machines need the weights relabled due to wear, they are rarely out of service. They have cleaning wipes stationed around the gym and numerous hand washing sinks in the locker rooms with paper towels. The ventilation and lighting is excellent. The sauna is usually 175F+ but can get a bit crowded at peak visitation times. Unfortunately some members don't understand it is a low humidity, high temp dry sauna and they insist on splashing water in the heater and on the walls to emulate a steam room. This drops the temperature by >60 degrees and raises the humidity. The pool has three lanes for swimmers. LA Fitness fits the needs of most beginners. Would be even better if open 24 hours.

There was a request for a review at the front desk. I am leaving it. The club exists, but it has old and poorly smelling carpet, a broken monitor on the rowing machine that hasn't been fixed for a year despite requests to the manager and staff. The equipment is rusty from sweat. The ventilation is poor and dirty, unable to cope with heat or the owner is saving electricity. The rubber grips on the bars have been torn for years without replacement, and the toilets are dirty too. Unfortunately. It is clear that it is not perfect, but it shouldn't be this shabby!

MANAGEMENT IS COMPLICIT!!!!! Many lockers are constantly being broken into by the locks being cut-off and/or twisted to break the hardware. Management is totally aware but has done nothing to reinforce the hardware. THIS IS NOT A NEW PROBLEM. Locker theft has been going on for years!!! Management wants to keep the locker thefts on the down-low so they can sell new memberships. If the new members are NOT being informed about locker thefts THEN THAT IS UNETHICAL and Management is part of the problem!!! How can one comfortably workout knowing their personalty is “at risk” of being stolen? Finally, the tread mills were replaced w/new ones. Stair Masters are very old, constantly out of service and they need new ones. Other LA Fit. Ctrs. have new Stair Masters but not Grant Ave. There used to be 6 sanitary wipe dispensers but now only 3. Most times the dispensers are empty for several days. THIS IS UNSANITARY! Staff claims that’s all that has been allocated and there isn’t any money in the budget to refill the dispensers. In the Men’s locker room, all paper towel dispensers are empty (for several days) to dry hands after washing. So members don’t wash hands? THIS IS UNSANITARY! The locker/bath rooms are a filthy mess, trash cans overflowing, toilets are VERY dirty. Given the lack of funds for supplies, I hope the proper amount of chemicals are being added to the pool and spa? Hmm

I was here today on 12/8 around 3:30pm. I got a free pass in order to try their service before joining membership. The front desk guys just sat there and told me to wait for him calling somebody. The worst pool experience ever. I waited 10 minutes for a lane. I was swimming laps when a man with a kickboard got in my lane. He jammed his kickboard into me and did not even apologize.

I told worker at the desk. His response? There us nothing we can do.

Every time I have swimmer here there are 3-6 people in a lane. It is dangerous. There is no respect at all.

I will never swim here again.

Stay away from this gym! My locker was broken into, because their lockers are cheap. I’m disable veteran who was told buy a full membership for your son or leave. Was never told about the upgraded membership. This place has gone down hill fast. It seems all about money and not about the guest.. if you have silver and fit or silver sneakers don’t pay the 240.00 for upgrade membership join crunch their upgrade membership is 5.00 a month and that allows guest and tanning beds with message chairs. Look at the safety issue here! Rugs with rips in them, dirty bathroom sinks, rust on the equipment, machine out of order, but the best is he closes the basketball courts down at 4pm on Sat. They will never cancel your membership. They always try to avoid conversation when you want to cancel it. I called at least four times to cancel my monthly subscription, eventually they did not do it, and I had to replace my credit card to avoid any further charges and file a dispute with my bank . They want to see you personally in order to cancel the subscription is specific branch where are you submitted for membership and they don’t care that your work, requires to be mostly out of state. They can easily do it over the phone but they won’t. They charged me for one year in a row even I did not attend the gym.
And at the end manager of la fitness called me and said that I need to to pay last payment in order to get finally canceled , after one year of payments ha ha ha, that’s the worst experience ever

This has been my home gym for over a year and while I love the community of people here, the gym itself has only continued to get worse. Today, signage was put up to notify gym members that they are no longer able to have their gym bags with them due to level of theft at this location. The carpet is ripped up and all of the equipment is old and much of it ( e.g. leg presses) not bolted down or functioning correctly. The only exception to this is the treadmills that they recently replaced after months of complaints from regulars. In the locker rooms there is regularly overflowing trash and the men’s sauna is frequently broken. Recently, they replaced the paper towel in the gym itself with premoistened wipes, however these run out frequently and so there is no way to wipe down the equipment, especially without access to a gym bag. I’ve been an LA Fitness for years now, in two different states however, I am strongly considering cancelling my membership and moving to one of the surrounding Crunch gyms that have a safe and clean environment and functioning, up to date equipment.

Not my home gym. I visited 4/17/24. The locker room had trash (water bottles and wrappers on benches) There were literally almost no dumbbells between 15lb - 60lb available. But the gym wasn’t crowded. I walked around the entire gym looking for dumbbells with no success. When I inquired at the front desk I was told the 25lbs were stolen, and she had no information on the others. The gym was warmer than you would expect, with small residential sized ceilings fans. I did workout, but it was an unpleasant experience. I’ll never visit this location again.

The maintenance here is HORRIBLE! Five bathroom stalls without paper in men’s bathroom. For those looking to get a better workout, try it with a knowledgeable trainer. Alexandra pushes me to train harder while understanding my limitations. She is a very dedicated person who motivates me to be stronger and healthier.

Staff is friendly. Many different possibilities of activities to do. Highly recommend working with a trainer. Alexandra is my personal trainer. She is encouraging and motivating. She also takes time to explain and model the exercises. Love to see my results Alex!!!

The Management, Staff do a phenomenal job of keeping the facilities socked, clean and promoting a great atmosphere to become physically fit. Any and all concerns are given a priority treatment and the members I interact with and talk to all convey the same sentiments. Shoutout to LA Fitness for the Grant Ave facilities

The Gym has plenty of fitness programs the. Personal trainers are acceptional especially Alexandra N she is the best. Restrooms can be neater though. The pool is clean and warm. Plenty of Raqet ball quarts . Machines need to be mantained better.

I like the la fitness alot on Grant Avenue. I have 2 complaints. The bathrooms are not clean very well, especially the ladies bathroom. The equipment seems to be breaking all the time. I think the manager in this fitness center should be more aware of these problems. The staff is very friendly and extremely nice. Everything else is very good. I hope these 2 things get rectify soon. I have been a member here since August 3rd of 2023. Me and my husband also have a personal trainer here at night. She is excellent.
