Fairly outrageous that this location is being closed, yet you're still shackled to your membership commitment. They'll tell you other 'local' clubs are still open. Like everyone can just squeeze in an extra 30mins-hour to their daily commute if they exercise before or after work. Reduced hours, no more pools, classes cut. (Newsflash to LAF: the 'pandemic' ended years ago; Bring back the original hours we signed up/paid for). The beginning of the end for LaFitness® Inc. Do not join LA Fitness at this point; they won't last long if the current culture continues.

I have only been a member since June 2023 when I was able to be a Silver Sneaker. I love it! I take mostly classes and have already seen my body start to transform from fat to muscle. I have 1 to 3 classes a day. Lily and Francine are my favorite instructors, but they are all good. I take Cycle, Bodywork’s and AB’s, and Yoga. Getting in shape is high on my priorities. If you want to get further meet with Nat, a personal trainer. I’m not quite there yet, but he helped me start my own workout and he is very knowledgeable and works harder than anyone I’ve ever seen… I don’t think he ever goes home!!! I have been to other locations, but Pleasant Hills is home for me. All the classes I’ve taken have been great fun!

Been going here for over a year now and it's been ok so far. Gym has what you need but is packed most of the time so be ready to wait for something.

They closed the kids area so parents can't bring them anymore and run a skeleton crew now.

The pool is closing October 20th 2023 because they said covid caused it to no longer be cost effective. My last day was empty area no life guard or employee in sight. The emergency door is left swinging open. It's like this place is dying slowly.

They are hemorrhaging employees like crazy. I had a personal trainer scheduled but they left and I was told nothing. I was offered a replacement but they left too and didn't show up to my first session. This was 2 months into my membership.

This was the reason I signed up this location and the above amenities. Now I'll just have to relocate to the Bridgeville location. Which has all of the above still and has the juice bar too. This location has nothing to offer you but equipment and a sauna that is falling apart.

The men's locker room has many doors falling off and locking mechanisms ripped off or falling apart. It would be effortless to remove a door with a lock on it. And the locker rooms and showers are constantly really dirty. The showers have lots of mold as if they don't clean them anymore.

Idk I hope the Bridgeville location doesn't do the same or I can't justify my membership anymore.

This location is replacing old barbells with barbells that are wider in diameter and have worse gripping texture. Fine for bench and squat, detrimental for deadlift. Some of the leg machines need updating. Gym is clean for the most part.

I've been going to this location for several years now. I called to make sure kids club was going to be open today and was told that it was permanently closed. I know a lot of men and women went to this gym specifically because of this service and have built relationships with other members and staff over the years. Closing this amenity takes away the option of going to the gym from so many people unless they give up valuable family time in the afternoons. It's really unfortunate to have to start over at another gym because of this decision.

At two different periods over the last ten years, I have had memberships with this specific LA Fitness branch. Overall, the experience was good. However, when I went to cancel this last time, I called in and was assured the cancelation went through after a very brief and cordial conversation. Three months later I come to realize that I am still being charged. I call to cancel and request a refund (it took four calls over two days to get one), but am informed that, apparently per their policy, you must submit a written letter or go in person to cancel the policy. Is this legal? Sure. I have no doubt it was in the mound of legalese we all skip when we sign the hundred thousandth terms and conditions contract of our lives. Is it a bad faith, predatory policy aimed at squeezing a few extra months out of unsuspecting customers? Absolutely. Their staff should've known the policy and informed me at my first cancelation attempt that it wouldn't work. Any way you slice it, this was horrible customer service that ruins any positive impression I had of the place. As it stands, my only recourse is to leave this negative review.

Clean, friendly, good facilities. Met with Marty who gave us a trial pass and tour. He talked with us about the gym, classes and services available. Love the water aerobics which I was able to do twice before signing up. Shirl, the instructor, very upbeat, positive and welcoming. Today we met with Nate, a personal trainer who was very encouraging and I hope to work with in the future. Kevin was kind and helpful. Overall I am looking forward to using the pool and gym! Thanks for creating a positive atmosphere! Also being kind and encouraging. The only detractor is the hot tub is usually not working and has a very pokey bottom—get water shoes.

I enjoy the elliptical runner and the weight equipment but locker room is at the lower end of acceptable with its level of dirtiness/cleanliness and we’ve noticed that the hot water is sometimes out, they have frequent problems with the pool, and the hot tub is broken more than it actually functions. Pittsburgh is a city famous for trades and getting work done so I don’t see why they can’t get the hot tub to function since we’re paying for it; in the time they spend telling us it’s “out of service” they could’ve replaced it 20 times over. The water aerobics class was so boring that I felt sad for the attendees; how about hiring enthusiastic instructors? Apparently providing a competent clean gym and delivering good service is not a priority for the management/owners.

This is a great gym. Lots of options for training from weight machines to free weights to functional fitness to swimming to cardio. There's a sauna as well. I deducted one star because the bottoms of every weight machine I used had a collection of dust, hair, and general deritus. Other areas seemed clean, though.

hot tub NEVER working, Locker rooms in BAD BAD BAD need of revamp. broken doors, scummy floors. The gym itself is nice.

Also the kids club, spinning classes and pool will be randomly closed/not happening, so after you drive to the gym you see a sign on the door in crayon saying the 3-4 things closed after u waist time and gas.

CALL BEFORE YOU GO TO SEE WHATS CLOSED THAT WEEK

EDIT: CHECKOUT THE PICTURES FROM 8AM sun Feb 19th. First person in the gym. Trash never even emptied. So you KNOW the floors, bathrooms, machines and locker rooms were never cleaned.

Can't speak for the ladies' area, but the men's locker room at this branch of LA Fitness is simply disgusting. I try to be in/out of the locker room as quickly as possible, using the restroom facilities only when absolutely needed. The gym itself is fine, generally relatively clean surprisingly enough, and "most" people (of course there are always a few to whom the rules don't apply) return their weights to the racks and keep dumbbells in order (both being big problems at some other gyms to which I've belonged). If there was another gym I could switch to that had out of town branches such as LA Fitness does, I would definitely not remain a member here.

Gym is okay, it has a nice variety of gym equipment however, I cannot get over the men’s bathroom. The urinal, toilet are always smells like urine. Looks like the rarely mop/ clean the bathrooms. Most gyms bathrooms always smell like bleach or disinfectant. I think management needs to place better routines for this to ensure proper cleaning/ sanitation. Compared to other name brand gyms, the only thing this place has going for it is it's barely maintained pool. Ots like they built this place with the cheapest parts to turn the most profit. Great gym with just about everything you could ask for. They just fall short on sanitization stations, most gyms have disinfectant towels all throughout the gym this place only has 3. So it seams most people forgo cleaning the machines when they're done instead of pacing the gym looking for the cleaning stations.

Club Pool hours are incorrect and I drove 30 minutes to use the pool facility as a member and it was closed. The gym is extremely dirty and falling apart with machines broken for weeks at a time. Employees taking smoke breaks (both kinds) and heavily dragging in the smell. The bathrooms aren’t even attempted to be cleaned.

Pretty good for what you get. The new housekeeping and front desk woman, who I’ve seen, appear to be doing a much better job than previous employees. I’ve seen housekeeping going above and beyond and I definitely feel more comfortable than I did a few months ago. A few months ago you could never find soap, paper towels, or disinfectant anywhere. But recently I walked up to a paper towel dispenser that was empty and a guy I’ve seen around cleaning told me they ran out, but helped me to find the closest dispenser that did have towels. There’s not dust rolling around anymore, equipment is cleaner, and toilet paper/soap/paper towels/etc are readily available. With the high turn over I’ve seen I can’t imagine they pay very well, but I hope they will make an effort to keep these workers around.

Eh. I stoped going a month after signing up & decided to jog outside instead. Wind, sleet, or hail I’d rather run outside than workout here. The gym equipment is old & I feel as if going to get a MRSA infection from touching it. The womens bathrooms are foul and old. I would rather stops workout early than to use them. I can never use the free weights or the bars because all of the bros that peaked in high-school occupy them for 1+ hours each. Also when I first got my membership they called me everyday twice a day to ask about personal trading and telling me that “this is a family. I’m just here to use some machines. Plz stop.

The actual equipment as far as working out isn't bad, but the gym itself is in horrible, filthy condition. The toilets are always extremely dirty and some of the stall doors dont even stay shut. The showers are extremely dirty and the shower curtains have mildew all over them. They basketball court has lights broken hanging from the ceiling and the baseboards are ripping off the walls. Its an ok gym.. they push people to sign up for personal training. They promise to reduce your training fees but don't do it. They don't clean the sauna room.

A lot of members complained about this, but nothing happens.

There should be limit to how many people can be in the sauna (Covid duh). Its always crowded.

The light in sauna keeps breaking.

They're charging annual membership fees for what? Why don't they clean the Sauna room once a day if they clean up the pool everyday?

Great place to work out at, especially if you have kids! I've been to other gyms in the area but none if them would ever allow kids. Being a father of 3, it was a relief to learn about their daycare program for the little ones, and it's really nice that I can actually take my other son there to work out with me and be able to show him healthy habits instead of being on a video game, or in front of any screen device for that matter! I had went with a guest pass and later figured out that it wasn’t able to be used after driving 30 mins to get there. Lee, a Wellness Director, personally called me on the phone then invited me into the gym to have a conversation with me about my goals in the gym and was able to design a plan for me for workouts in the gym and an eating plan. Definitely kicked my butt (but totally hyped me up and got me through it) during our first training session. Anthony, the GM, is a staple of this gym. Dude is literally huge and physically shows how the gym can pay off. Love the culture here. Can’t imagine myself anywhere else.
