Great place to learn! I love the classes I take and everyone is so sweet. The one drawback is the pricing system, since you can only buy the class pass for one month and not as a credit system (for instance you buy the four class pass and miss one and use that credit for the following month). The old model using MyStudio was much easier and forgiving since you could choose any class with the credit as long as it was within 30 days of purchase, but maybe things will change in the future. Overall, great place to dance and I HIGHLY recommend!

We had our daughterβs 5th birthday party there this Saturday, and it was absolutely perfect! The venue was a great space for 10 little girls to do ballet and their parents to socialize and watch. The instructor was so good with the girls. She taught them a handful of moves and then they showed off their routine at the end. Cuteness overload! My daughter chose the ballet theme. They decorated and had the space ready for us! I highly recommend for a fun, laid back, and ready to go party place!

Google Review for Los Sabrosos Dance Co
Visited: June 21, 2024
I and a guest visited Los Sabrosos Dance Company located in the Garfield section neighborhood. This serves as my first review of the venue, but I have been to this location many times.
Cover Charge and Atmosphere:
After paying the $10.00 per cover charge, we always enjoy the many various Latin and afro beat dancing styles. It's enjoyable to dance freely and learn from the many talented dancers who showcase their skills magnificently on the dance floor. Well-deserved 5-stars rating. The venue is very small inside, but the energy is infectious. Yet again another 5-star rating.
Ventilation and Comfort:
Speaking about the atmosphere inside, the location does not have any form of ventilation to move the air. After dancing to just one song, I am always soaking wet from sweating. Having a single fan has no effect in cooling the area. When others stand in front of the fan, it doesn't help to keep the dance floor cooler. The venue would do well with a series of well-placed fans throughout the venue. Unfortunately, the dance studio gets a 1-star rating in this regard.
Community and Experience:
The people inside are always happy to share dance techniques with others. Huge 5-stars rating.
Parking is done on the streets in and around the venue. On busy evenings, you may find that you have to park a block or two away. 4-stars rating.
Overall, I recommend this location for those looking to dance to Latin music and for social gatherings. During the hot summer months, consider wearing light clothes due to the extreme heat inside. Maybe the club should install additional fans to help move the air around to cool the location. I will continue to dance here and enjoy the company of such a grand good time.

The happiest place on earth isn't Disneyland, it's Los Sabrosos! Since moving back to Pittsburgh I'm finding myself at their studio every week taking dance classes and joining in at their socials on the weekends. Nicolette and Agustin have created a warm and welcoming space where everyone can come and find a class they love and have a great time while learning latin dance. A few years ago I joined one of their dance teams to improve my technique and learned to perform, and haven't looked back. Their instructors are excellent and we've been able to participate in many dance events across the country to improve and perform together, forming many friendships along the way. I'm so glad to have found my dance family with Los Sabrosos!

For the mini lesson: $15 If you're a total newbie you will have an authentic Cuban Salsa instructor. Fantastic! If you don't have the ear for the accent tho you may have trouble. I did. Mini lesson is packed too. 4 maneuvers to nail in 15mins. Can you catch on that quick? I hope so. I learn the Suzuki Learning method mastery of 1 technique at a time.
For the Social: $10. Goes til 1AM. Fair warning all levels stop in. If you're totally new it may be best to watch, have a drink & maybe just nail the basic & a spin with your partner if you came with a total newbie partner. There is a clear hierarchy. If your partner is a female follow & more advanced than you, they will be asked & will dance with the advanced leads; justifly so, for the entry price. If your partner is a more advanced lead & you're a newbie follow, he may float & ask other more advanced follows to dance as well. Just how it goes.
It may be best to attend this social if you're already taking a class & have been practicing at home. Leads must know more than the follows & the follows must know the basic maneuvers; otherwise disappointment abounds.
Venue: Bathrooms well kept, in the back.
Former Row house/store. Narrow with chairs on the side walled with mirrors. Waiting area up front.
Bar: Towards the back. Water, light N.A. beverages, Light snacks to purchase. You can BYOB.
DJ: Trys to mix higher BPM with slower BPM for the mix of levels.

Los Sabrosos studio has really inspired me! It shows how you can have both a social life and practice dancing. What I love most about Los Sabrosos is not only the exceptional dance foundation I received, but also the emphasis on building kind, confident, positive dancers and leaders. Encouraging fun, creativity, taking care of your mind, body and soul. Nicolette and Agustin take great care to ensure that their studio is a safe place for all dancers, and that the dancers care for and respect each other. They bring souls, families and community to unite in love.

Great space for lessons and social events. Students of all levels are warmly welcomed, and the instruction is top-notch. The students there are fantastic folk as well, but please donβt take my word for it. Check out a social night! Come dance the night away and see for yourself!

I started taking Salsa and Bachata classes at Los Sabrosos two years ago, with no prior Latin or partner dance experience. I immediately felt comfortable and welcomed by the instructors, staff, and other dancers, and this new fun hobby quickly turned into an enduring passion. In addition to the positive environment that the studio has cultivated, I really appreciate the variety of classes Los Sabrosos offers (there are other dance styles, yoga, belly dance, etc.), and the twice a month dance socials where I can let loose with the larger Latin dance community. The instructors are all fantastic at helping you progress in technique, styling, and learning how to be in connection with whoever you're dancing with. There are also performance teams at a variety of styles and levels (including beginner!) for anyone who wants to learn choreography and how to perform on stage.
I've recommended Los Sabrosos to anyone who has ever considered trying a dance class (even if you've never danced before!) and will continue to rave about it. This dance family is the real deal and I've developed many deep, lifelong friendships. I plan to dance with them for years to come.

Unbelievable 1-on-1 and group teaching here. I worked mainly with Heidi and Kristina, who were the best dance instructors Iβve worked with so far. I am a beginner and was visiting Pittsburgh for only a month, so my goal was simply to not lose what I had learned. Little did I know that in one month theyβd teach me what would have taken 3 months or more in any other dance studio. Also have awesome Latin dance socials on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month. Highly recommend this place with no reservations whatsoever to anyone looking to learn how to dance or build upon what they already know.

One of the best dance studios in all of Pittsburgh! I really can't say enough good things about this studio. They offer all kinds of lessons ranging from Latin dancing (obviously), kids to burlesque. The owners are amazing and very family oriented they always great you with a hug and a smile. All of the instructors seem to have dancing down to a science and I was quite impressed with the level instruction. All I can say is if you're interested in any type of dance please check out this studio you really won't regret it!!

My 4 year old lives for her weekly Wednesday dance class. Her dear teacher, Mz. Savionne, is full of kind, empowering energy for the kids, I live watching her spirit transform them. The studio has very welcoming staff, full of light + plants. The kids dance class is set up for month-to-month (1 hour class x 4 = $50!) so no huge commitment but easy to renew monthly. Vibe is chill + inclusive. Highly recommended!

The instructors were great and I had a blast years ago. Unfortunately with the strict covid rules and the fact I can't get vaccinated I will feel like an outcast because everybody else will not have masks on. Hopefully I can make my way back here eventually once things go back to normal.

Initially I had a blast at this place. I showed up about 20 minutes late since I'm not from the area. The girl at the front told me I could pay for two class's when I offered to just observe the first class since I missed half of it at this point. I was pulled into the first class, so I did the class. I did the second class and after the third class I was informed that I needed to pay for the basic class I just did. I'm not holding the getting paid against them, however the manor in which it was handled was very poor. The owner or the greeter could have talked to me between classes, or during the basic class when I was standing alone instead I was ambushed after the classes and guilty into paying for a class I didn't need. Very unprofessional. The instructors are great, but the way they handled this situation means I won't be going back next time I'm in town.

Saturday night salsa was such a blast! The music was great, they have a nice wooden dance floor,nd there were so many good dancers. It was a big turnout, and the vibe was happy from start to end. The cover was only $10, and they had plenty of water on hand, which was helpful because it was a hot night. A few more big fans would definitely be appreciated for next month's festivities. I'm already looking forward to it.

Never danced salsa a day in my life. Decided to give it a whirl and see if it was for me. I took their beginner solo salsa 1 class and signed up for a month of classes. Heidi was our dance teacher and she was fantastic! Very encouraging and an excellent teacher, really upbeat and made the classes fun. I had so much fun the first month that I signed up for two more classes the following month! Seriously recommend it for anyone wanting to get into salsa. The classes are affordable and seem to build progressively off each other, so you can seriously improve after just a few months. Thanks so much to Los Sabrosos for helping me discover Salsa dance and fall in love with it!

Los Sabrosos is the best dance school if you want to have fun and look hot at salsa clubs. Took group lessons for a year and all instructors are top notch but just started private lessons with Heidi Islas in salsa, bachata and merengue. She really knows her stuff. She has a keen eye to spot flaws in my technique and is always able to provide simple strategies to help correct my bad habits.
Thank you Heidi Islas-- eres la mejor --you are the BEST!!!

My husband and I took two dance classes here before our wedding to learn a routine for our first dance. The instructors at Los Sabrosos were very professional and walked us through a really beautiful dance. They even cut the music for us to give to our DJ! We had so much fun dancing that we'll have to return for some of the group classes :)

As a gift I purchased a 20 lesson package for my fiance so that we could learn to dance together for our wedding. I am half way through and already have been taught enough to dance rumba or swing confidently to any song. Krystyna has taught me and my fiance so much in such a short period of time! Not only have the lessons been informative but they are fun and not stressful at all. I was worried that I'd be a total failure, but with the help of Los Sabrosos that's not even a thought in my mind anymore!!! I highly recommend for beginners looking to expand their horizons!

I trained at Los Sabrosos when I moved to Pittsburgh in November of 2014 until July of this year (2017). Without knowing a whole lot, I jumped fully into learning. I joined the Lenin Guerrero (Salcity of Angels) team and performed two of his choreos at several stages here in the US and abroad. I also performed with a group named "Fuerza Steel" taught by Stan and Heidi. Fun vibe, great location, good teachers.

Los Sabrosos Dance Co. helped to make our wedding day so incredibly special! My husband and I got married over three months and our friends and family are still talking about our latin dance that we performed, choreographed by Nicolette and Augustin! Learning the bachata and salsa dance was sooooo much fun and rewarding, and they made it an experience we will never forget! They are such sweet, energetic, fun, encouraging instructors and friends. It felt amazing to show our family and friends such a dazzling routine - they were definitely completely surprised and blown away about how great we looked out on the dance floor! THANK YOU you two! We LOVE Los Sabrosos! :-) We would recommend taking lessons from them - for a special occasion or just for fun - over and over again!

Having loved salsa lessons with Nicolette, we opted to have Krystyna choreograph our wedding dances as well. Krystyna is wonderful! She created a fun and easy-to-learn sequence for my father and I and was very patient with us as we practiced with her. For Ryan and I, Krystyna not only taught us the basics of rumba that we will be able to use forever, but also a very clever series of figures to 'Uptown Funk'. Lessons with Krystyna were a terrific way to de-stress from regular wedding planning - we cannot thank her enough!!

We contacted Los Sabrosos to help us prepare a dance for our wedding and prepare us they did! Our instructor, Krystyna, choreographed an amazing dance to the song we chose and worked tirelessly to help us learn all her fancy moves! We surprised ourselves at how good we looked; all thanks to Krystyna's instruction and skill. Whether you're preparing for a wedding or just want to learn a new skill, we highly recommend Krystyna for all your dancing needs!!!

I took Salsa and Bachata lessons at Los Sabrosos for over a year and got to experience both their private and group classes. The studio offers a range of dance styles at all skill levels and the instructors are very flexible about accommodating their students' interests. When I first discovered the salsa/Latin dance scene in Pittsburgh, it was intimidating to imagine learning all of those steps and fancy spins. Los Sabrosos was there to help me. A friend and I attended group lessons for several months. We quickly learned salsa, bachata and merengue. You do not need a partner!!! Agustin and Nicolette offer affordable group lessons where I met many dance partners that quickly became friends. Agustin and Nicolette will hold your hand if you are shy or push you to your full potential if you want to dance at a more advanced level.
