I used to hate working out. Now that I'm getting older, staying strong and losing weight has become super important. Derek's philosophy at Mitchell Performance Gym completely changed things for me. He's made it easy to work out 3-4 times a week, totally pressure-free. Seriously, I've never felt this comfortable in a gym before. Thanks Derek!

What a great gym and trainer! In 2023, I went through 16 rounds of chemo and surgery. In early 2024, I was sometimes using a cane and felt awful. Knowing I had to increase my physical strength, I was so fortunate to become a Mitchell Performance Gym member. Since starting, I've dropped about 20 pounds, bettered my coordination, and built up my endurance. Derek is incredibly knowledgeable and a great motivator. Give this gym a try - you won't be disappointed!

Derek is excellent. Been going to him for nearly year now and I feel much stronger in and out of the gym. There have been a handful of little βinjuriesβ I picked up but Derek easily adapted our program to tackle them while continuing to work on my goals. If you are thinking about signing up, but currently have a couple of restrictions, Derek is exactly who you should see. He will eliminate those aches while getting you stronger.

Derek is a very knowledgeable fitness trainer.
His group session full body workouts are very challenging and always changing. It really makes you want to come back to learn a new workout. After his 1 hour sessions I feel great !

I have trained at many gyms over the years-Derek is , by far, one of the best. He tailors workouts to your individual needs sets goals that are realistic! This gym offers a great community as well. I cannot believe the changes I have seen since working out with Derek-I would highly recommend Michell

My son has been working with Derek for some time now and I can not praise Derek as an integral part of his athletic growth. We were just coming out of COVID lockdowns, my son was at an age where he should have been further developed, so I decided to get help.
When my son really got serious about sports, we knew his development behind. Derek provided a space where my son never felt out of place and was always welcome. His approach to developing overall athletic skills, as opposed to single sport skillsets, proved to be exactly the thing my son needed.
At the time my son just like 1 or 2 sports. Now he is performing at a top level in 3, about to go to a fantastic high school and is looking forward to expanding in to even more athletic opportunities. There is not doubt in my mind that Derek was a major factor in his success.
I can not recommend this gym or Derek enough! Go for it, you will not be let down!

I have been training with Derek for a little over a year now and I have seen a complete change. I started right after I was done with physical therapy for the third time, and I have not been back since. My body is strong to support my knees, and he knows what to train to fit your needs. I am a college athlete, and he has trained me to get to college conditioned, and strong for workouts, and strong enough to play my sport without injury for the entire season, which most important. His running program also brought my mile time down from 7:11 to 6:43 in two months. Something Derek always says is "do not train your body like it is fragile" as in you can push yourself and work harder than you think. I notice a difference in this philosophy and how my body functions during workouts now, and I have trained with a bunch of different trainers before I started with Derek.
