Rock climbing gym GymAbout the Club
Movement Callowhill is the largest climbing + fitness gym in Philadelphia, located just north of Center City. We have an expansive bouldering floor, dedicated roped-climbing area, yoga studio, comprehensive fitness center, and a full retail shop.
Here at Movement, we believe that climbing isn’t just an activity—it’s a shared experience. It’s not just about reaching up, but also reaching out to welcome everyone into this shared space where we leave the city behind and find that one boulder problem or route that just puts a smile on our faces (or the one that tortures us), to challenge ourselves physically + mentally, to support each other, and to forge friendships with people who are like us and people who are not.

Awesome spot, only reason it's 4 instead of 5 is that it's usually so packed that it can be hard to get on the walls during busy hours, and they aren't always the best as setting new routes often enough. Have definitely been times where the open routes are the ones that have been up for over a month. Besides that though it's a great place to climb and work out, a couple auto belays, small regular gym section with some equipment and weights too, good clean locker rooms and bathrooms and a dry sauna which is a great perk. Been a member for a while now and plan on continuing to be.

I've been here a few times now. Aas someone who is new and not particularly strong, I felt like there was not nearly enough easy bouldering routes. So if you're new it gets boring really fast. It's also incredibly busy from 5ish until 9:00.

The headsetter here is a female, and I dig that. Makes me feel that ego and gatekeeping is not at play with grading. I can also see intended beta building skills within climbers which is the sign of great setting.

I love this gym but I am SO SICK of men coming up to me and trying to use my gym equipment. I am clearly using the rack — leave me alone! Every. Single. Time. I’m here a guy decides to try and use my equipment (small, female) instead of asking the other gym users…oh right, because they’re male. This gym likes to pretend to be welcoming to all but these men think they own everything. I am so done with that. Next time it happens I’m taking their picture and posting it here. Absolutely done.

* AC not working in bouldering room all summer
* dirty bathrooms and windowless yoga room with stained walls
All if this was manageable, but when I had left my shoes in the yoga room and had to grab quietly them near the door during a session to address a home emergency, the extremely aggressive yoga instructor followed me down the hall and into the restroom, and when I was with a bunch of Asian people in the restroom, she yelled which one of you was in the yoga room. It was very demeaning and aggressive. We are all women in our 30s and 40s, and when I said sorry I had to urgently run home she proceeded to say if I had just waited u til 706 she would be finished.
1- Not very yogalike, tattoeoed appropriator. I have been to many yoga studios and never once has an instructor behaved this way
2 - Adding signage with a schedule as most other Movement Gyms would be helpful and letting people know that instructors will follow you into the restroom if you dare open the door.

I was lucky enough to take Arlinda's Vinyasa class while visiting Philly and can't recommend it enough! Her class structure was so well structured with helpful tips to improve postures, suggestions to challenge oneself at their own pace, and a lovely self-love narrative. Keep doing amazing work and can't wait to attend another class when I return next <3

I’ve generally enjoyed coming to this gym, but today’s experience was disappointing and uncomfortable due to the behavior of a staff member.
I was trying to access the auto-belay area while a class was in session. I paused to assess whether it was safe and appropriate to pass — I wasn’t trying to interrupt. Instead of calmly informing me, the instructor gave a bad attitude, “Please! Do not interrupt the class!” in a condescending tone (disguised as polite?). It felt unnecessary and rude.
I respected the instruction and entered from the other side. A while later, my husband walked with me behind the class (not through it), assuming that would be acceptable. That’s when I noticed they have a signage asking people not to come through during a class (I did not see it at all), as I was reading it, this staff placed two more cones to block the entrance and made it loud — ALL WHILE GIVING ME A DEAD STARE! That level of passive-aggressive behavior felt excessive and hostile, especially considering I did not notice the sign beforehand.
I would’ve appreciated clear communication instead of attitude. We’re all sharing the space — a little patience and professionalism goes a long way.

Nice people, but the bouldering sets are pretty boring and definitely catered towards newer climbers with mostly juggy holds up to higher grades. Can’t speak to the top rope sets but they do seem solid.
Definitely more of a gym for people trying bouldering over people who go often.

I've been coming to Movement Callowhill for over a year now. Overall, it's a positive and inclusive environment with a friendly and helpful staff. The gym offers a wide range of classes. While it can get crowded and occasionally a bit stuffy, the energy is very good here.
That said, I’ve had a few less-than-ideal experiences at the front desk. On one occasion, a staff member told me my account “looked weird” and asked me to wait without providing any further explanation. After some time, I was simply told I could go in—no context, no clarity. It was a small moment, but it left a negative impression. I generally try to avoid unnecessary interaction by scanning in quickly, as some staff can come off as aloof or cold. For a membership that costs $165/month, I believe there’s room for improvement in consistency and communication. A little more warmth in customer interactions would go a long way.

We came early afternoon and it was nice and quiet, a bit later some climbing teams came in but because the gym was so spacious we had plenty of space to do other climbs. They also had little flowers made of climbing holds it was so cute ;;

There are always pros and cons to every climbing gym, but having been to dozens of other gyms, this one is definitely of high quality for 99% of us... especially those new to climbing. The community here is incredible, and you can look around on a weekday night and see that is the most inclusive climbing space in the region (unlike gyms nearby in the burbs with management that likes to associate with white supremacists, or in other areas of the cities where asthmatics have to deal with a facility that has never ran a vacuum). Parking is much easier than other places in the city once you're familiar (members have their own free small lot), but unfortunately, like anywhere in the city, you have to give yourself time the first few trips. The gym is really close to a lot of public transit!
To those who aren't new to climbing and thinking about comments like those below: stop blaming the setting for your lack of skills, instead LEARN. Stop wanting things to be easier and blaming others for when you think you should be able to do something. Pick the appropriate challenge level to learn, rather than calling routes that others do every day "dangerous".
I deducted a star, because they don't have climbing movie nights, singles night, any non-climbing get togethers since Movement is in charge.

Went here with my siblings as a first time climber. Super great experience! Staff was really friendly and helpful in guiding us through our first time. Orientation was super helpful and the person who walked us through it was very informative and answered every question I had. It’s a great atmosphere here that feels welcoming to beginners and more advanced climbers alike. I will definitely be visiting again and recommending this place to anyone remotely interested in rock climbing/bouldering!

Good location but the gym is always crowded with teens and adolescents when I'm trying to work out. I try and work out around 4-7pm weekdays and these kids have no gym etiquette. They swing around too close to me trying to do muscle ups while I'm lifting heavy and it feels really unsafe. They don't put their personal belongings away or re-rack weights and they're loud. I haven't seen these kids use the sanitation wipes provided by the gym. I often feel crowded out by these annoying children who have monopolized the weight zone. Even if I'm there first they just come and invade your personal bubble. I've been a member for ~2 months and I wish I wasn't navigating this. Last time I used the sauna 3 teens came in loudly chatting and making dick jokes amongst themselves. I'm an adult woman so I was in the women's sauna and was really upset that the girls don't even know locker room/sauna etiquette. I asked them to please respect the sign that says don't talk and so they just whispered their jokes. The next day I called the front desk and homie who answered agreed with me, he said that the teens are detracting from his enjoyment of his workout too so I'm wondering why nothing has already been done to make the weight area more considerate and safe. He told me to leave a google review + fill out a comment card so here we are. On a positive note I like the route setting in the top rope and lead area.

My cousin asked to borrow a rope and the employee working the front desk wouldn’t give it to him unless he traded in his AirPods or phone. When we were ready to take the lead test, the same staff member told us there wasn’t anyone to issue the test (there were 4 people behind the front desk). I’ve been to the gym many times in the past with no issues, but the experience today was very odd. The guy giving us problems was not a kind person at all. Honestly half of the reason I got my membership was to attend Caroline’s yoga class, she is AMAZING! love the climbing and the people are always friendly. Only knocking down one star because they need more - and experienced - route setters. Complex routes tend to be inaccessible for short climbers. The grading - at least in the top rope area - is very inconsistent so I just climb what seems fun. However, the climbing community is pretty inclusive and awesome and this location is easy to get to so I highly recommend!

Recently visited Movement Callowhill with high hopes after hearing they promote an inclusive and welcoming environment. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but. When I walked in, the front desk staff hardly even acknowledged my presence. They continued their personal conversation as if I was invisible so I decided to take a look around briefly before leaving. When they finally did speak, it wasn’t to greet me, offer a tour, or even ask if I needed help—it was to let me know that wandering around to check the place out wasn’t allowed.
The lack of warmth and basic professionalism made it clear that I wasn’t seen as a potential client but rather as a bother. It’s disappointing to encounter such an unwelcoming atmosphere, especially from a place that claims to be inclusive. Inclusivity isn’t just a slogan; it’s shown through actions. If Movement Callowhill wants to live up to its reputation, they need to work on making every visitor feel valued from the moment they walk in the door— including Black women who may not resemble their “typical” demographic.

This place was awesome! The staff was really sweet and charming, climbing was good, and despite the fact there were a lot of people there, I didn't feel like I couldn't get on anything or there were significant slowdowns. Really good climbing gym culture. Be aware that you need to pass an auto belay quiz to climb, or take a belaying test. You can't test the day of unless you come hot and ready, but there's also plenty of bouldering upstairs you can do if you are a first-timer and don't remember the belaying steps.

If there was another gym in the city with tall walls for rope climbing, I wouldn’t be a member. Unfortunately, this is our only option. The facility is poorly run by management, ceilings that leak during rain, heaters that don’t work so it’s too cold to enjoy climbing inside. Meanwhile this company is opening up another facility? Maybe they should focus on making their existing gym more pleasant and enjoyable. I’m sure when the other one opens they will both be terrible. Philly climbers deserve better.

More like a 2.75, but I’m rounding down because of how expensive it is.
The bouldering isn’t the best. Not many routes for the size of the space, leaving you doing pretty much everything within your range in one or two sessions. The quality of routes, also, leaves a lot to be desired. The solution is pretty much spelled out for you immediately, leaving just the execution left, which often isn’t very satisfying, and usually involves some kind of massive move that forces you to risk injury to complete. At PRG (my previous gym, which I’ll be returning to like some wayward son), you’re constantly challenged both mentally and physically by the bouldering, yet never feel like you’re risking injury. (The variety of ways to finish each route at PRG gyms is very cool) This may just be the way bouldering is heading, with big comp moves being the norm, but still, I’ve seen those style of boulders executed in much safer, more satisfying ways at other gyms.
The toproping and auto belays are definitely the one saving grace here. Some very fun routes on them. But, my lord, when it gets busy, that room becomes chaos, and all etiquette gets thrown out the window.
All in all though, worth it for the occasional day trip, but wouldn’t recommend a membership if your main focus is bouldering, and don’t need all the fluff (shiny gym equipment, saunas that don’t work, etc).

Love this place, the staff is great, climbs are updated on a regular basis, facilities are clean.
My only gripe is the kid camps. I understand their love for climbing, while we’re all there. However, when they wonder below you/jumping on a hold next to where you’re climbing/starting, or jump around spilling your chalk bag is absolutely frustrating and dangerous. No doubt it’s like herding cats, but a little etiquette/safety talk could help them understand what could happen they severity of a 200lb person falling on them

My home gym, only reason I'm giving 3 stars is they need to fix the leaks in the roof. Any time there's serious rain, the roof then leaks in numerous spots. The staff places buckets to catch the water but these aren't exactly safe - I've seen at least one person land on one and get injured. Pretty much an issue for years now.

I have been coming to Cliffs (now Movement) since it opened. It was a great gym at first, felt really friendly with good amenities. Since then many of my friends have left because of the inconsistent routesetting and pricing.
I enjoyed the routesetting at the beginning. Since then the quality of the routesetting has decreased and has been super inconsistent. I regularly climb v4/v5 and there are some v2 that have been very difficult. The climbs are usually very tall and as a short person (5') I often struggle to figure out a beta that can work for my height. I have basically stopped bouldering because of the tall sketchy moves. There are often difficult moves at the top which feel more unsafe than hard.
I'm particularly disappointed in the pet policy implemented last year. It was such a wonderful place to bring the whole family (including our furry ones!) and I honestly never saw any issues with dogs acting out in the gym. More often there are kids running under people climbing that pose more of an issue.
There is very limited parking and only during certain times of day. There are multiple parking lots in the vicinity so I am not sure why management hasn't created a contract with another parking lot.
Lastly, the pricing has just gone up so much. It makes climbing unaffordable and inaccessible to so many people and it lessens the diversity of the gym. There was a sliding scale implemented but for such a small group of people.
I've kept my membership because it is the only gym close to me with rope climbing, but honestly I wish I didn't have to.

Five stars to everything - employee, cleanliness, provision of variety, workout area - but not the setting the gym. I’m like other reviewers that think the setters here could use more training, perhaps a field trip to the other Movement gym.
The setting/grading is so different from the other Movement gyms. I was just at Movement Gowanus the other day flashing 11Ds no problem, and today I find myself struggling on a 10A, which an employee walked by and said was the hardest 10A they’ve ever seen.
As noted in another review, some of the setting is discriminatory in that it’s set for people 6’ +. Here I am at 5ft 5in feeling like I’m Ai Mori at the Olympics unable to reach what would be easy for taller climbers, disrupting my flow.
Movement, please spend more money on training the setters! Thanks

My friend group & I have loved this gym for a while now, but sadly, we have all decided to cancel our memberships and move on to another gym due to a single but persistent issue with the gym. But first, let me start with the pro’s:
Pro’s
- Facility: Clean, tall walls & nice lead area, and good bouldering area with nice padding. Excellent quantity of routes
- Amenities: Good pro shop with wide variety of gear. Gym is quite nice for a climbing gym and the locker rooms + sauna’s are well above average from what I’d except form a gym.
- Holds: Good variety of holds and volumes
- Staff: Very warm, knowledgeable, overall nothing but good interaction
- Location: Excellent location for those of us in downtown Philly
Cons (aka route setting): Too many high-risk moves & dyno’s, lack of consistency
-Safety of setting: They say safety comes first but it does not always seem that way to us at Cliffs. Climbing is inherently dangerous, but subjectively, we feel as though the routes do not consider the safety of the climber sufficiently. Let’s be specific though:
For a commercial climbing gym, their bouldering routes sport an egregious amount of high-consequence moves towards the top of the walls. I’m talking mainly about dyno’s but also moves with a high chance of slipping unexpectedly. It’s become so ubiquitous that on v4s & v5s, we consistently find the biggest and most dangerous moves at the top of the wall. Ironically, towards higher grades (v7-v9) this trend is diminished, but the dyno’s are still commonplace. While many of us (including myself) enjoy dyno’s or poor feet, the positions that Cliffs consistently puts us in are flat out un-fun.
We can’t help but noticing that anecdotally among our friend group we’ve been injured here quite frequently with rolled ankles or torn tendons. We want to get injured trying our outdoor projects, not indoors. This is not surprising as the moves which Cliffs seems boast consist of the most common ingredients for indoor-rock climbing injuries according to AMGA: highly dynamic movement, large lateral movements, & unexpected falls due to unindicated loss of footing.
Comparatively, climbing gyms such as Philadelphia Rock Gym, Tufa’s, and Gravity Vault all exemplify (in our opinion) a far better model for setting which lowers the consequence of failure of risky moves. These are concrete & noticeable improvements such as: reserving more of the risky moves for lower down on the wall, reducing lateral dyno’s & moves which result in unexpected falls (foot slips), and ensuring minimal falling hazards (other holds/volume).
Subjectively, the Cliffs has simply given insufficient thought into the safety of their bouldering routes to keep us from moving to other gyms which have demonstrated this ability.
On ropes, things get a bit better. My singular gripe would be to improve clipping stances. Indoors, it’s nice to have decent clipping stances between hard moves to ease the risk of dropping. But we all know people will clip high anyways haha.
- Variety & Setting: Simply put, too many dyno’s. I enjoy dyno’s, but even I must admit, it has gotten far too frequent.
- Style: Primarily comp-style. Up to you if that’s a good or a bad thing, style is subjective.
- Consistency: While I know many of my friends encouraged me to address grade stiffness here, I personally don’t care so I won’t comment on whether I think it’s stiff or not. What does frustrate us all though is the inconsistency of the grades at Cliffs. Of course grading is subjective and divisive at best, but it’s hard not notice that compared to other indoor gyms or outdoor areas such as gunks or NRG, our experience grade-to-grade differs more dramatically at the Cliffs. We did like that Cliff grades with real grades, not colors/groups/etc.
We used to enjoy the Cliffs more, but the poor route-setting, particularly compared with the other gyms in Philly, has ultimately led us to canceling our memberships. We will be checking in now and again, but for now, we can’t recommend the Cliffs

My experience at Movement Callowhill was extremely disappointing. Their safety measures are lacking, as they allow uncertified climbers on the walls without any clear signage indicating the certification requirement for belaying. The intro class and the instructor is helpful and friendly, but one staff member's condescending attitude towards beginners was unacceptable. Instead of providing guidance, he assumed we should know all their regulations and spoke down to us. It's frustrating to be made to feel stupid when simply trying to learn… Additionally, their system is a mess. Despite signing numerous forms before class, they claimed not to have a waiver from us and couldn't find our names in the system when attempting to book our second class. The whole lack of management is very frustrating. Overall, a disappointing and unwelcoming environment for newcomers.

After climbing at different gyms in Philly, the cliffs (movement) doesn’t hold up. Very pretentious atmosphere. So expensive - it’s like 120 dollars a month for a membership. Climb elsewhere. The one advantage the cliffs has is the height of the walls, and the options for top rope and lead climbing. But you’ll feel so judged you won’t even be able to fully take advantage of it IMO 🤷♀️
ALSO they are hostile towards unions!!

I’ve been coming to movement since it opened so this review comes with attending twice or more a week for nearly half a decade. In that time the quality has been on a steady decline. The bouldering setting has gotten comically bad with grades being totally irrelevant. The men’s sauna is perpetually broken. Dogs no longer allowed. They have more weights than they have racks meaning there is a pile of plates in the corner which is frustrating because there are enough people lined up to use them. The system board now
Slowly lowers during your session (over 30 minutes it went from 30 degrees to 34) and there are no set screws so every move could be a secret trap door (this to me is negligence on the part of the gym as the holds have also never been cleaned in the five years they have been up. What is the point of not putting in screws for safety if you aren’t even going to clean them?) AND TO TOP ALL OF THIS OFF MANAGEMENT HAS YET TO STRIKE A DEAL WITH THERE UNION. Maybe some of these issues would be resolved if they compensated their employees properly.

After 5 years of not climbing I was excited to not only get back on the wall, but to check out what new or different changes might be under the management, Movement. We walked in on a Friday afternoon to approximately 4-5 staff members behind the register. They did not greet us, nor even acknowledge us until they were done with their personal conversation. Reluctantly they finally turned around to ask us if we needed help and when we told them it was our first time, they became even more reluctant in having to expend any energy interacting with us. It was as though it was a bother to do their job. We decided to stay and climb despite the less than kind welcome. We wanted to just boulder and the routes for beginners were few and far between in comparison to the availability of more difficult problems. If you’re a beginner or want a good eco and introduction to climbing save yourself the trip and go elsewhere. Sadly, disappointed in my experience especially since we had hoped to join that day. The staff is horrendous!

The facility is nice. Good space for bouldering, ropes, and weights.
However, the route setting, environment, and lack of community make the gym far less desireable than any commerical gym I"ve been to. The new management must consider investing in routsetting and fostering a better community rather than relying on the fact that there are no other full-service climbing gyms anywhere close to Center City.

I’m honestly at a loss for words with this gym. If I had to describe this gym (both as Cliffs and now as Movement) it would be, inconsistent.
I’ve been climbing for 4 years and for the life of me I can’t figure out if I’m a V2 or a V5 climber on boulders with how inconsistent the grades are. The setter schedule seems to change every week. Difficulty appears to be a measure of your power to weight ratio and has little to do with technique or your ability to read a problem. Don’t even get me started on routes that are virtually impossible if you’re shorter than 5’ 7”…
I love so much about this gym because of the OTHER services it offers like classes, outdoor climbing trips, and having both top rope and boulder problems near Center City. But for the life of me I can’t recommend anyone that wants a good, long term experience to come here. Go to Tufas a couple miles north if you’re looking for good bouldering problems, it’s cheaper and they know how to set fun problems

Cliffs is my new home gym after trying two others in other areas like Reach. I consistently find the bouldering problems at Cliffs to be more interesting and resultingly more difficult. I find the boulders at Cliffs probably about half a grade to a grade harder than Reach, so that's why I moved over. The bouldering area is also MUCH larger so there's more variety, which makes getting stale on a grade harder / take longer.
With that said, I find Reach to be a "nicer" and cleaner and newer gym itself. So that's why I knocked a star off Cliffs. It's darker, older, more dated, and has less natural light than other gyms. The foam and walls also just naturally seem older. Also parking can be a major pain for Cliffs unless you know where to park.
If Cliffs can make the bouldering area brighter and slightly nicer, I wouldn't hesitate to give it 5/5. I personally find that type of experience, especially with Cliffs being the most expensive of all the bouldering gyms, wouldn't be that unreasonable.
I can't speak for lead climbing because I don't do them.

Friendly staff and clean facility with an excellent gear shop. The gym also has a Tension and Moonboard, which are adjustable.
Unfortunately, I found the setting to be underwhelming (for bouldering, maybe ropes are better). This may just be subjectivity and personal preference but a good majority of the climbs seemed very haphazard and not particularly well thought out.
I think if you're just trying out climbing or going casually this place is fine, but if you're more serious about the sport then this is a pretty big detractor.

Very welcoming environment. There are affinity groups that meet regularly to climb together at the gym. It's a lot of fun and a great way to meet new people. They also offer classes and there is a gear shop, sauna, and a fitness center. Downstairs is top rope and auto-belay, upstairs is bouldering. It's a huge space.

People at the front are friendly and ready to be helpful in any way.
This place is great for different levels of ability and have small placards to denote difficulty level at the base of each climb.
I am a beginner and have found my own routine here for a workout that suits me.
I am used to working out on my own so using the auto-belay is just what I need.
This facility has a workout area with monkey bars, treadmills and a variety of other inclements which are perfect for the solo fitness enthusiast such as myself.
There is a place for locking your mode of transportation in the vestibule whether it be a bicycle or kick scooter.
The location is very close to Chinatown so after my workout it's just a hop, skip and a jump to find delicious food to nourish my tired, bedraggled body.

Went inside to try using a friend's free monthly guest pass. I spoke with the front desk to rent equipment and to go through the first time process. I was informed I would have to go through an orientation before I can start any climb and told me to wait off to the side. I waited over 10 minutes, before I walked up to the front desk and had to remind them I was waiting. After that the experience was good

I want to love this place because the staff are incredible and it has the potential to be an incredible space. I've never seen so many queer affirming folx and people of color in a climbing gym and it is really lovely. However, it is abundantly clear that management cares more about profit than creating a welcoming environment or adhering to the values of climbing communities in general. The gym is dirty; the roof continues to leak even though they raised membership rates to repair it; the furniture is torn; repairs needed in the bathroom go unfixed; and the routes stay up for months--literally actual months. I've reached out to management and customer service about my concerns, as they proclaim to welcome feedback but they have blocked me from their instagram account AND have taken me off the communications listserv. Which is a really unfortunate way to handle criticism. But it is also telling. They don't want your feedback--they don't care about it. Now the staff are rightly trying to unionize and the Cliffs refused to recognize their union as of yesterday. I am not surprised by this refusal at all given the interactions I have had with upper management. I hope they will see this feedback and take it seriously. All the members I interact with feel similarly. We stay because it is conveniently located but also because the onsite staff make-up for all the mistakes the owner and upper management continue to make.

Extremely friendly staff, varied offerings. I was there mainly for bouldering, and this placing is grading a hard game!!! It is hands-down the hardest-graded bouldering place I have ever been to in North America so far. But humility is good, once in a while, right? Seemed much more reasonable on the regular walls. Merci beaucoup!

This is a great climbing gym in the city. Finding parking can feel very taxing however once you do, you will be all set for some great fun. It’s a clean gym with many challenges available. The walls do become very packed with people, you will find yourself waiting on the next route from time to time. With that said it’s still definitely worth the visit. There is a large area upstairs for bouldering and slack line walking which is a lot of fun. Great vibe here.

I've been climbing here for about a month. I started with the Learn to Climb package, which is kind of a trial membership for people like me who want to get started climbing but have little to no experience. It includes a belaying class and a month of climbing with free shoe and harness rentals. I'm thinking of becoming a member; it has been really fun to get into this and see myself improve and try more challenging routes.

Great space and nice staff BUT, they really need to work on their top rop route setting. Coming from other gyms the routes feel awkward and difficulty varies greatly depending on how tall you are. The routes didn't feel technically challenging, more just hard because they needed a lot of strength or you just needed to be tall. In other cases the routes were just frustrating or confusing rather than challenging in a rewarding way.
This issue is definitely something that could be fixed with more thoughtful (or less rushed) routesetting, so hopefully things improve, at this point we only go to this gym because there is nothing else downtown.

I love it here! it’s so fun to climb by yourself or with friends. Con is that it’s a bit expensive - and they just raised their prices.
The atmosphere is wonderful and also the people who work here and climb here are amazing. It’s a great community that goes beyond “just a climbing gym.” Sometimes you see kids after school climbing together, sometimes college kids, sometimes older adults. it’s a wonderful mix with such great energy.
Lastly, for those who don’t know how to climb - it’s so fun to learn how! staff is helpful too if you have any questions. you’ll get one heck of a workout too!!

Nice gym. I was visiting the area and checked it out. Had a variety of climbs and let me top rope for the first time with their auto belays. Meet some super nice people seems to be very community oriented which is how climbing should be. Spent most of my time upstairs bouldering. Nice grading. Gave me a challenge and work on different weaknesses with plenty of slab, overhang and vertical walls.

If it’s your first time climbing here make sure you do the online waiver and watch the video, it is informative/educational, to save you time when you arrive.
Beware that muscles and tendons/ligaments that you don’t normally use will be sore and tender for a few days afterwards. Stretching before and afterwards will help. Enjoy the climb!
