My home studio. OTF has been a mainstay in my fitness routine since gyms reopened during COVID. I started there wearing masks and working out next to people with plastic barricades - and have stayed ever since. I needed a consistent group workout following Flywheel center city (and the company overall) going bankrupt during COVID. I worked and rode at flywheel as my go to fitness establishment for work, workouts, stress relief, and socialization for 7 years. Without it, I knew I needed an alternative. OTF is it! It’s a great workout. Every class is consistently challenging but doable. As a physical therapist, I like how many different facets of a person’s wellbeing OTF hits. They check every box - speed, strength, coordination, balance, stretching, mindfulness - and they do a great job offering form cues and alternatives like elliptical or bike instead of treadmill, walk instead of run, and different variations of floor exercise. I would never work as hard as I do on my own as I do in class with an instructor and others around me. Thanks for the push!! I recommend OTF to so many patients and friends. I’ve recruited my mom as a member and am working on getting my husband in for at least one class ☺️ I like that every class is different. The coaches are friendly and motivating. The studio is conveniently located. And the app is easy to use to track your stats and book classes.

Tory is the absolute best. She rules all the earth and all things fitness. It should also be noted that Angelica is also the greatest. Few people on earth have the perfect temperament for what they do. Both Tory and Angelica are the correct people. We need more of each of them on earth and we would be a much better place.

This is such a great workout for beginners and super fit people alike—most importantly, it’s welcoming and such a lovely set of coaches who will walk you through everything and encourage and help you. If you can take a class with Tory or Dan they are excellent but all the coaches are gold.

I love running and have found a lot of amazing distance and speed runners in the classes. That said, if you don’t love the tread you will not be alone! The workouts are designed to meet you where you are.

If it’s your first class then go early and reserve ahead of time and the coaches or staff will explain everything so you know what you’re doing. I’ve brought several friends who have all had great experiences and a few have become members. But I’ve also met a lot of friends through the gym and appreciate that they host events like happy hours, 5ks, and birthday party karaoke for the coaches. And they share wins for members on social media so you can cheer on others (obviously only if you’re comfortable).

I'm re-introducing myself to workouts and OT has been fantastic in helping me maintain this goal! My intro class was with Coach Kimmy, who was fantastic and took the time to thoroughly explain everything I would need to know in the class to be comfortable and successful. Since then, all the coaches- Kimmy, Dan, and Tory- have helped me push myself in the workouts, have celebrated even the smallest win, and make me look forward to my morning workouts!! It been a little over a month and not only have I stuck with it consistently- I'm already feeling stronger physically, mentally, and feel completely supported by the coaches!

I'm loving Orange Theory AND this location!!

As an Orangetheory member, I was excited for my friends to try their first class, so I convinced them to go to the Center City location since it was the closest to them. I even sent one of my friends, who is also a member because I had previously convinced her to join, to be there with them and see how the experience went.

I was extremely disappointed to hear that when they arrived, they were treated rudely by both the front desk staff and the coach. They were asked to arrive early so the machines and workout structure could be explained to them, which is standard at Orangetheory. I have brought other friends and family members to try classes before, and at every other location, the coaches have been thorough in explaining the workout, how the machines function, and the importance of the different heart rate zones.

However, this time, the coach didn’t take the time to explain anything. My friends were asked to come early for no reason, and my friend who is also a member had to step in and explain how everything worked. This is not the type of experience I expect from Orangetheory. It was frustrating and disappointing, especially because the welcoming and informative atmosphere is a big part of what makes Orangetheory stand out.

This is not my home studio, so when I arrived I asked if I needed to pay anything, I was told “no” by the front desk. Since there was no price difference I continued to come to two additional classes at this location. Today I received a text stating that I needed to give them my credit card information. When I called a male told me that I needed to pay for the three classes I attended. I explained to him that i asked the front desk and was told that I didn’t need to pay. His response was, “I wasn’t present for that conversation, you still need to pay for all the classes or your account will be suspended”. He even acknowledged that his front desk may have messed up, but I still needed to pay. Had he honored what his staff told me initially I would’ve paid for future classes that I planned to take there. They should definitely learn better customer service skills, and teach your staff how to answer the phone.

Orangetheory has been calling me for literally 3 weeks and I finally picked up and was going to schedule the first class but Paul picked up and he was SO rude. I literally answered the call intending to go in and Paul was so rude that at the end of the call I decided against it like how are you so bad you lose a sale that easily. I’ve been to other Orangetheory locations and they’re always nice like damn 💀

Had kids and put workouts on hold. Needed a fun environment to get me back into the swing of things. Decided to try OTF at a friend’s recommendation, and so glad I did. I love the fast paced boot camp type style with solid cardio each time. Tory was my first coach and I’ve stuck with her since - I feel like I get an amazing workout with her every single time! She puts together fun, interesting programs so it’s never boring, gives great tips to improve my form, and her music helps me get pumped up. Tim at the front desk is also awesome!! Always greets everyone with a smile and is super welcoming.

studio surcharge is $20 in addition to your membership fees (and they wait weeks to charge it and then they do not want to delete payment info even if they aren't your home studio. they rather suspend you from ever coming back to their studio), you have to pay for parking. small studio. rowers are way too close to each other; you will bump elbows. I go to multiple studios around the country, and I have never had a studio charge me two weeks after I visited, a studio charge, and then deny deleting my payment information.

Long time OTF member (over 10 years). I travel and hit OTFs all over the country. The studio is clean and the front desk staff were very pleasant.

However, when I was on the floor I answered a text message. Coach Tory came over and reprimanded as if I was a petulant child with her attitude and demeaning tone. She informed me of a no cell phone rule in the studio. When I went out to put my phone up and ask the front desk where the rule was posted, she came out into the lobby to further berate with her nasty tone. Strangely, according to the front desk the rule is posted in the bathroom? I don’t mind following rules but there’s a way to handle clients especially guests. Complete service failure by this OTF studio. If your traveling for work or pleasure, make sure you don’t cross Coach Tory.

When it came to this studio, I will say that parking was difficult. — Maybe not for a local, but definitely for someone from out of town. The location requires specific, detailed instructions to find as it’s in a mall and class happens a lot of the time when the mall is not open. It’s considered a premium studio though I cannot figure out why. The equipment is all standard at this point. They could actually could stand to buy more fans and a dehumidifier for the studio.

The best thing about OTF is that wherever you go, you know what you’re getting out of the workout. The same can be said for the workout here. Overall, the experience was fine and I would return. Just be prepared if you’re visiting from another city.

Located in downtown Philadelphia, this facility is in the back end of a mall, near the food court, that you need to buzz into to get access after mall hours. I recommend showing up a few minutes early just to make sure you find the place, although it is not a very big mall. The facility is spotless and the staff are friendly. Towels are not provided but available for $5 to purchase. A heart monitor is also $5. The coaches are great. During class, our coach, Tory, jumped onto the rower and coached us to a synchronized row while rowing! I’ve never seen that before and it showed dedication to our training. Orangetheory on the road means you can easily meet new and friendly folks in all kinds of cities. Give this place a try if you’re in the city of brotherly love.

Wipes were handed out to clean down our stations every time we rotated, which I appreciated. The music kept me motivated and energized throughout the workout. Mads, the front desk person, was also really friendly and cool.

I signed up for my first class and received a call the day before to confirm. When I walking in at 810am for my 830am class, the woman at the desk (medium length hair) told me that I was not able to attend the class because I was supposed to be there at 8am. There was not an email nor a specifications of the mandatory arrival time so I was surprised to hear this. For me, it was the woman at the welcome desk who exemplified a passive aggressive tone and I was embarrassed since she delivered the message in front of all the participants; she was not welcoming. It was very disappointing because I had travelled from far to take the class and was highly anticipating it. I would not recommend the Liberty Place location in Philadelphia. I would recommend Rumble and/ or Solidcore for better service and a consistent effort from the team to ensure a satisfying workout.

Denied class for being 8 minutes late. After being a member for years and paying $200 per month, I was told that I could not go into class because I was 8 minutes late. If this club had an owner who cared, this would never have happened. Go here if you like the corporate feel.

My home site is Ucity, because this is the closest to my place. But I came to Center City because they had a later class, which was the only one that fit into my schedule. I usually take the trolley to go to either, because it’s the fastest mode. But I had to drive today on 10/20, because the trolley never came (unforeseeable). Due to rain and traffic, I was 8 min late- whereas the GPS told me I’d be there in time. I walk up to the door in a slight panic- because I’ve never been this late here. The CSA asks the coach if I’m able to take the class, and without a moments hesitation, “No”. I know the company policy but we ALL know there are exceptions to this. So when does this occur vs not occur? And wouldn’t this qualify as one? Because when my psych class ran over, and I showed up 6min late to OTF Ucity, I was able to attend class. Needless to say I was very disappointed after this encounter, and don’t want to return.

Love that it’s a full body workout - I am guaranteed to get a good workout.
Cons: music isn’t always great
HUGE CON: for such an expensive studio, the bathrooms and showers are sub-par. Shampoo and conditioner bottles are dirty, wooden slats on the bottom of showers look grimy, and bathrooms smell like a tanning salon. Also it’s shocking that there is no towel service (even for a charge). Soul Cycle’s bathrooms feel like a spa and have all the free towels you want. Orangetheory should aim to be as nice as Soul Cycle since it is a similar price point.

The coaches are great here. However, I was surprised that this club charges a premium even if you are member. With that upcharge, I expected an up to date club, but the treads were in disrepair. Several had loose or wobbly belts. There monitors were smaller and there were fewer of them than most of the other clubs around. Bathrooms were messy. Still a great workout, but if a club is going to upcharge be a model club not an aging one in disrepair.

I started going to Orange Theory a few months ago and don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. It is the perfect balance of cardio and weights, and the quick reps/rotations always keep you on your toes while preventing you from getting bored doing one exercise over and over again. Similar to a lot of other workout classes, the lights are dim and the music is pop or hip hop, which are definitely motivating and give me the energy I need to get through an early morning workout. So far, I have really liked every coach I’ve been to as well, they all keep a good balance of helping you but not being in your face. My one complaint is I have a hectic schedule like the flexibility to book/cancel classes not super far in advance, however Orange Theory classes fill up really quickly so I have been forced to sign up for classes quite a few days out, before I really know my schedule so sometimes I have to cancel and won’t be able to book another class unless it is a few days further in the future. I guess that just speaks to the class’s popularity!

OTF provides variability in workouts and high intensity in a 60 min class. The only thing you need to do is show up, and the trainers (all of which are great) take it from there.

The only "downside" is the price, but obviously the more Often you go, the lower the per class cost is, which is additional motivation to get you to class.

Checkin and fitting for the monitor was easy, membership signup was easy. My only caveat is be ready for a serious price tag! Located on 2nd floor of Liberty Shops. If taking uber, get drop off at 1606 Chestnut by the "Payless" then cross street to mall shops.

So I signed up for an intro class online and was immediately texted by Robert, asking how my needs could be met. I told them my wife and I were interested in trying a class out. I was not responded to, so I text again asking if was able to try a class out. I was told to call and book the class. So I did. I was told to arrive 30 minutes early, I knew this would be a challenge because traffic downtown is crazy. I left fairmount at 8:30am (to arrive for the 9:15am class). We eventually found parking and could not find the place! We looked everywhere, and we had to google it to figure out that it was inside liberty place. No where on the website does it say it's in the mall! So we arrive at 9:05am. The initial greeting by the girl at the desk was fine but it went downhill from there. She gave us this super long "customer intake form" and then started rushing us. She literally said "you were supposed to be here 30 minutes early." word to the wise, immediately guilt tripping a new client is not a great way to get me to sign up for your gym. I explained to her the parking situation and how to body had told us it was in liberty place, her response was "well, it is what it is" - After she started rushing us to get us into hr monitors, I had been admonished enough. She made my wife and I feel very small and guilty for being there. We we stopped her and said nevermind. We had no interest in working out after that experience. I'm sure the gym is fine but there should be some sort of system in place for this. Update: I spoke with OTF's manager on the phone regarding this situation, he was nice and also apologetic, I appreciated him talking to me, and he ensured me he would speak wth the front desk girl. While appreciate this, I hope it's a teachable moment and it doesn't happen to future potential members. Word of advice, arrive early.

We were visiting from out of town and are OTF members at another location. This location had some very nice employees and we felt at home with the workout even though we were far away. Thanks for making it an easy transition and helping us out!

I love the workout because I have my own personal goal to attain. They are always different and we do so many things in class that there isn't time to get bored! Chris is a great teacher! Very motivating and helpful. The gentleman at the front desk was not so friendly.

Enjoyed this unique experience. They switch up the classes all the time. I only tried one class recently to see what it was like and ended up taking the endurance- focused class. I really pushed pass my limits because I am not much of a treadmill person. It was fun and they give you a heart monitor while you work out so you can see where you are at and where you need to be. I did not feel ignored despite all the people there.

Orangetheory Fitness club offers the chanche of a very intense training while having fun. Great people as trainers, such as Chris Becks and Claude, and very friendly folks at the desk, Marcus G. The classes are packed and it does not not matter the level you are at, you'll enjoy it.
