Started training with Dr Phil about 2 years ago and I have been more than surprised by my progress. I am a working mom who had not seen any strength training my whole life and I am amazed at what I can do now. I asked Phil for help getting getting back into shape it’s been a while since I’ve been to the gym explained to me that you will send me a program that helps me to start with low weight to move slowly and then build up as time goes on so I received the information from him and then also he followed up with me with a diet program and other things to help me get along in my quest to return to working out on the Norm. I am a 73 y.o. Recently retired woman, who has enjoyed good health my entire life. Until I recently started acquiring the usual aging conditions: weight gain, aches and pains, high blood pressure, etc. My health care providers have been telling me to exercise regularly, but I have never really enjoyed that. My husband was also a life-long couch potato until his health started to deteriorate and the doctors told my husband that had to get serious about even light exercise. My husband hired Phil over 10 years ago and religiously works out with him 3x a week. He says he cannot attribute his vastly better health to any one factor. But my husband no longer has asthma, congestive heart failure nor the crippling effects of spinal stenosis. But he knows that working with Phil is critical to his continued good health. Now I am seeing Phil too. He is a great fit for senior folks. He is reliable, calm, reassuring but pushes you very gently to hit your goals. And he has a good sense of humor. If you’re having a tough day, he eases up on you while patiently encouraging you “to do the best you can today,” praising you for however little you accomplish and for keeping at it even when you having a bad day. He reminds me that just moving a little will help me, even if I’m not reaching my goal that day. I am now feeling better, more energetic, have less joint/muscle pain, and am very optimistic about losing a little weight and feeling fit and energetic again so I can play full tilt with me young grandchildren.

When my sister Brenda was looking for a personal trainer years ago after knee replacement surgery,she sent me a list of several trainers to review. After reading over Phil's resume I told her was the one for her. She has been with Phil for over 4 years and my other sister Linda ,seeing how Brenda's over all health and mobility had improved with Phil ,she became a client too.
When the pandemic hit ,I stopped going to the gym but wanted to continue training. My sisters worked with Phil virtually and still had good results. I decided to join in I live out of state and workout with him online and in person when I come to town.
I'm not a stranger to the gym and enjoy weight lifting but dealing with arthritis has made it difficult at times but working out with Phil he is able to come up with modifications of certain exercises so as not to exacerbate my arthritis. I'm 67 and look forward to working out with Phil 2 to 3 times a week. I can honestly say going forward I well continue to work out with Phil. Because of my training I'm still able to work 12 hour night shifts in a very busy critical care unit.

As a busy father in my 40s looking to loose weight (and having tried unsuccessfully for years) on a whim I decided to hire a trainer. Phil was exactly what I needed. He was able to analyze my eating habits and provide recommendations on diet as well as a training program. During our virtual workouts and in general he kept me accountable and provided just the right amount of motivation. Whenever I had questions he was quick to respond and provide guidance. A few months ago, my girlfriend hired Phil to work with us at our apartment complex gym. We were both out of shape but lacked discipline to exercise regularly. We hoped a trainer would help fill in the motivation gap.

When I started with Phil I had a weight loss goal but had no idea how to achieve it (having tried my own methods many times without success). I have been working with Phil for the last three months or so. For about a year and a half I have been struggling to recover from an undiagnosed illness that affected my nervous system and left me unable to walk. When Phil and I started out I mostly sat in a chair and got around only with the help of crutches. With Phil's help I slowly started with non-weight bearing exercises to build up muscle mass and have been able to slowly wean myself off of crutches and now I train on a TRX! Phil has shown a sensitivity that is rare. He is always encouraging but still knows how to push me to my limits. I always feel so accomplished and strong after our workouts. I am a senior citizen who has been seeing Phil three times a week for over 2 years. He cares about your needs, goals, limitations and works with you to make each session challenging but not so difficult as to discourage you to keep at it. He suggests new exercises and stretches to keep things from getting boring, and switches off routines so you are exercising all of your muscles over the course of a week. He is diligent, knowledgeable, reliable and very calm and low key. I was well known for hating any form of exercise. That I have continued to stick with Phil for this long and steady period says a great deal.

IF YOU WANT TO GET SERIOUS ABOUT WORKING OUR DR. PHIL IS YOUR MAN!!! I have had a severe back injury for the past year which resulted in surgery this past year. The medication I was taking plus the time spent in the hospital caused me to gain about 20 pounds. Once I started to feel better I wanted to get serious about working out. Luckily I found Phil, whose approach to working out was ENTIRELY DIFFERENT than anyone I had worked with in different gyms. I actually look forward to the meetings we have because every workout is different and never boring! Phil helps you get the desired results and encourages you to push yourself through to the end. The time goes fast and you feel great. He is smart, fair in his expectations, and helps you get the job done.
