I’ve been going to this gym for over 3 years now and right now it’s in its worst state!! As soon as you walk in you are welcomed with a strong smell sewer. And by strong I really mean it. I don’t understand how these young kids work here. It’s crazy!!

If any Equipments are out of order, they won’t fix it for weeks. Every corner is dirty. Breaks my heart looking at this gym these days.. can’t talk about restroom men’s restroom smells like urine all over!!

Hello, I went to other Planet Fitness in Pittsburgh. They all got updated. Instead of cardio machines, they got new weight machines. However, the one I went to, Crafton Planet Fitness, where I am a member, only has tons of cardio equipment. We need more weight equipment. We need weight machines like free squats, pec decks, and incline chest presses.

For being a rather busy planet fitness, it lacks a lot.
Every week a new machine is out of order and it’ll be down for weeks. Then another will be broken…. It’s in desperate need of a makeover and new equipment but seems to just be neglected from higher management.
With only four smith machines, when one is down, it’s a forever waiting game. Not to mention other leg machines that were down for a month….

The positive is the staff and how often they are seen cleaning and keeping the gym stocked. They are always welcoming and friendly.

Walked in and right back out because of how dirty it is. I already know I'm showering after a workout and the bathroom was nasty. The worker is just sitting on his behind. That bathroom didn't just get that way. I'll stick to McKnight Rd and Bridgeville where the workers and the managers take pride in caring for the facility whether day or night. Only reason I’m doing 3 stars is because the staff is fantastic, so nice and welcoming. HOWEVER too many patrons don’t clean after themselves, often leaving machines covered in SMELLY STINKY SWEAT MARKS. Patrons coming when they don’t bathe for what seems like days. This is not a reflection of planet fitness however they don’t address the patrons when told they just clean after them, which just means if no one says anything to the workers those machines wouldn’t be cleaned unless by your self. The tanning beds are left a mess by patrons, as well as the whole gym needs a really good cleaning around the edges, there’s about a half inch of dust in them, low and high.

Don't go to this one! Go to Bridgeville.. much cleaner, it's also bigger, the set up is nicer and it is cleaner with VERY nice workers who greet you when you walk in and ask what you need instead of playing on their phone and frowning. I came in to this location in Crafton for the first time today and i smiled and said hello to the girl today at the front desk. She was looking down at her phone or something, not a single hello, not even a smirk, I said thank you too after scanning my pass..she didn't say a single word to me lol. I wanted to go use the red light therapy but now I don't want to because I'd have to ask her . It's a shame. I'll never come back to this one

Recently joined Crafton location based on their advertising free fitness training and classes available. However after I joined was told no fitness trainers are employed at this location and no classes are available. There was even a large digital screen behind desk where I signed up displaying free fitness training and classes. Totally fraudulent advertising. Ripoff

Not one of the newer planet fitness locations however the vibes of this location make up for it. The employees are super nice and let me enjoy my time relaxing in the black card lounge area. A random thing that is important to me is having a single unisex bathroom, some PF locations have it and some don’t. This one does. Another random thing I like about this location is it is the most comfortable one to use the shower facilities. It’s always clean and since it’s not too crowded of a location - I always feel like I have a lot of privacy. I wish I lived closer to this location because I prefer showering at this one over all the others in the region. The only
reason this location has 4 stars is because sometimes the hydro massage bed goes down and the tanning machines haven’t been updated to the newer models some of the other locations have. Yet that’s more of an issue PF corporate has to fix. And not the fault of the employees. Keep up the great vibes!!!

I’ve been going here since it opened. For awhile it was really nice but has consistently slid downhill since it opened.

Broken equipment stays broken for months on end and the latest is that every morning when I come in, nearly all of the bathrooms are “out of order”. Every day for weeks now at least one stall is closed, today I come in and every stall but the handicap one is closed.

Edit 4/22- since I made the post the closed bathroom issue has not been an issue. However long wait times for equipment to be fixed is still an issue and especially a problem when the gym does not have too many alternatives. For example, the ab crunch machine has been broken for a few weeks and the only alternative is to use the one in the “express” fitness area.

I love it here. I’ve been coming to this location now for 4 years. It’s less than 10 min from my house and it’s so cheap to have a membership. The hydro massages are great. The staff is nice. And I love being able to see a lot of other regular people who go here and being able to chat with them. I feel so comfortable here. Hitting the gym is one of my favorite things to do 👌🏼

I stopped coming here a couple years ago because I only use the 30-minute Express and the staff here did not enforce this. I thought I would try it again since it is so close to my house. But, the same problems still exist. They don't even have numbering on the stations here. The staff doesn't care and the patrons are rude. Not for me. Huge waste of time. This location has a good vibe and it doesn’t get overly crowded. Friendly employees and everyone keeps to themselves. However, it smells a bit worse than other locations, kind of like feet or BO, when entering the building. Guess that’s normal for a gym though?

Also, PLEASE open a PF in the Bellevue/North Boroughs/Ohio Township area. Crafton, McCandless and Moon are all inconvenient to simply workout. We need one!

Crafton PA location is not well managed. 2 of The hydro beds haven't been working correctly for over a month despite telling them that they don't work. No one seems to care to fix them.
No one seems to check if tanning beds are clean. Totally left up to the users and most don't bother cleaning up when done.

I don’t normally write reviews but I wish this PF enforced rules at this place like the others I’ve been to. No matter how many complaints it seems no one enforces the rules anymore. I get the music the gym plays isn’t the best but playing your own music out loud disturbing others is just wrong. No matter the time of day my workout gets interrupted by someone’s music they’re playing without headphones.

Unless we’re able to pay extra monthly so we can play our own music without headphones? If I missed that part my bad!

Other than that, it’s a nice atmosphere to get in and get a workout in.

The staff are warm, inviting, and helpful. It’s clean and the atmosphere is very chill. One word, underwhelming. Bring back the hours. Staff doesn’t greet you unless it’s to tell you what’s isn’t working that day or to tell you no about something. Feels a bit run down and no one monitors the typical PF rules like noise, sitting on machines scrolling or the 30 minute room. Air hand dryers in the bathrooms done make sense when rolls and rolls of paper towels wasted making us clean the machines. I’ll keep the membership for now but will explore other options.

Purchased a gym membership through Highmark insurance that listed this gym as one of the partners. When I went they refused the agreement saying they don't participate. My spouse purchased a black membership which clearly states online in writing that family members can come by themselves. Which is why we signed up due to our busy schedule. The facility is nice.
However there is only one recumbent stepper in the entire place. Many clients like to use this stepper and results in a long wait time for use of the stepper and sometimes the wait is long and as a result you leave without a workout.
There are several upright bikes that hardly used when I have been there. Maybe some of these bikes can be moved somewhere else so there's a place for additional steppers.

I have a Silver Sneakers membership and I pay $13.03 a month (I was paying $32 a month before joining) so I can tan and use any other Planet Fitness location. I go for the tanning beds but will be getting on the treadmill and do some walking. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. The tanning beds are outrageously hot since they are being used 24/7. And, no towels to clean the bed with. They use brown paper towels (I don't think they do a thorough cleaning. You have to use LOTS of them to do a decent cleaning). Every bed/ stand-up are really dirty. There are oodles of people using them ALL DAY LONG. Lots of hair on the floor of the stand-ups. I take a little bag in with me that has my lotion, goggles and small hand towels. I clean the bed/ stand-up before tanning and afterward. I lay paper towels down in the stand-up for the protection of my feet. I would be so mad if I got athlete's feet or ring worn. Do yourself a favor and wipe these down with disinfectant BEFORE and AFTERWARD. I haven't tried the massage chairs, etc. yet but when I do I will definitely clean with disinfectant before and after. I think you should too.

I work out at Planet Fitness 3-5 days a week. I'm always greeted with a smile. When I leave I'm told by the staff to have a great day. The personal trainer Cai is very helpful with my work out routine and schedule.

This is a newer location and is in good shape. This location usually has clean restrooms and an attentive staff. This one also has tanning and hydromassage beds. Everything else is standard for the franchise as pertaining to equipment there are treadmills, ellipticals, free weights and various machines that I don't use. I'm a runner so I run here on the treadmill when the weather is ugly.

Do not make this PF your primary location. I frequented this PF for a couple years and then moved across the country, so I cancelled my membership (at the facility - with the signature of a PF employee). I continued to get charged for a few months after, so I called to inquire why I was still getting charged, and they told me I never cancelled (even though I received a cancellation confirmation via email). The person I spoke to was very rude and adamant that I had never initiated the membership cancellation. So I sent them the cancellation confirmation and requested to be refunded the membership I was charged after cancellation, and they never responded. I followed up multiple times via phone and email, while I was STILL getting charged, and received no response. I had to call my credit card company to block them from authorizing any more payments to Planet Fitness, since they refused to stop charging a cancelled membership. The whole process was unprofessional and the customer service is terrible.
