Extremely bad water pressure in showers. Impossible to wash. I had to spend 30 minutes in here for a simple wash. The water fountains output more water. And it goes to next to nothing when the toilets flush.

I am a disabled senior meaning that after I use the equipment I like to go into the handicap shower, where the rails are the one drawback is is there is no water pressure whatsoever trickling out of your showerhead. I’ve asked two weeks ago for your maintenance to address this meaning I asked the front desk when I approached him again today I said do you remember me? Do you remember my request? Do you know that your front desk did not even tell the owner what it needed for the plumber to come How disappointing to see the reviews everyone going to Hershey because you can’t keep up with the maintenance much less have an employee tell you that you need to have maintenance how disappointing and you even employ someone who is handicapped why you cannot see this problem is beyond me. I love the gym overall but I don’t get there every week. Went yesterday and they were closed. I’m sure there were signs posted all over like they did at Hampton Township a few months ago but an email to members would have been appreciated so I would not have wasted my time yesterday. This location is okay but Hershey is much better. There is no AC in this location, it’s always hot and stuffy in the building, and sometimes smelly. The equipment is old vs whats at the Hershey one. There are hardly any staff at this one, and if there is, they aren’t friendly at all. During the week, they are supposed to open at 4am and there was a worker in there but he didn’t open the door till 6am which is crazy. I go to this one occasionally because it is much closer to my home and I like the setup of this one much better, but my preference is definitely the Hershey location. Planet Fitness, just try to do better. Consistency is key.

Walking into PF the first time in my work clothes, I was given courtesy and a lot of positive knowledge. The employees, which truly make this place special, make me feel welcome, helped me with the sign up process and in all answered all my questions without making me feel unwelcome or too much for their time. The place is clean and well kept and if guidance is needed there are knowledgeable folks that are happy to help you succeed. A wonderful difference from other places.

Is planet fitness downsizing staff for budgeting? Recently in past couple months staff was “axed”. Went from awesome greet/conversation at desk and always available and staff on floor same time. I really enjoy Planet Fitness! The facility is always very clean, and the front desk staff is friendly and welcoming. Signing up was a smooth and easy process, and the gym truly lives up to its ‘Judgment Free Zone’ promise. The bathrooms are modern and well-maintained, and the equipment is up-to-date and in great condition. The membership is also very affordable, making it a great value. I have been going to this Planet Fitness location since 2015, literally 10 years. I've been a member through two remodels. I've been a Black Card member, so I've seen other locations locally and nationally to compare, as well as other gyms in this area like the Friendship YMCA and Platinum Fitness.

First, the PROS of this location:

1) Space. It's very spacious compared to the average PF in this area and it uses that space well. There really aren't many areas that feel too crowded or claustrophobic compared to some gyms.

2) Organization. The areas of the gym are well organized. This location is currently swapping out some machines and moving a few things around, but the overall layout is really nice. Dedicated areas for different points of focus, including the stretching area, 360 area, and the 30 minute workout area are nicely segmented.

3) Cleanliness*. My personal experience is that the average gym is not that clean. In general, this gym stays cleaner than those despite getting a decent number of patrons. There have been a few lapses in this, so see the cons section.

Now, the CONS:

1) Hours. Planet Fitness used to be 24 hours! This was PF's number one selling point in my opinion, and they abandoned it. I have literally heard radio ads for PF that say, verbatim, "most clubs are 24 hours." All 5+ clubs in greater Harrisburg are NOT 24 hours. As someone who went to PF when it was 24 hours, the reliability was unmatched. However, what's more frustrating is how their hours are currently structured! They inexplicably close at 7pm on weekends, but open at 4am and close at 11pm on weekdays (except Fridays). They are kicking people out at 7pm every weekend because there are so many of us that are used to the gym closing at 11pm (or 9pm) the other days of the week. I will bet you money there are way more people there at 7pm on a weekend then 4am on a weekday. Fix your hours for when people are going to be there. Even other former members (who quit!) told me it was because of the loss of 24 hour patronage.

2) Management and Staff. I have seen this location change hands frequently since 2020 and the maintenance / cleanliness of this location has suffered as a result. It's a revolving door of regular employees. PF probably pays minimum wage so they can't find anyone, even though they barely have any staff as it is. When management has changed over, they stopped having as much attention to detail or routine cleaning. I had to point out black mold in the locker room, that was eventually dealt with. But not having enough staff means things don't get cleaned as often. Or fixed. Or replaced. I have seen staff fight each other, yell, and argue while on the clock. Maybe if PF actually paid more they could get slightly better employees. Just a thought, not that PF management or corporate cares about anything other than profits.

3) Not having real free weights (like every other gym) and not replacing equipment: Once upon a time, this location had vertical smith machines, not the angled ones that are impossible for me to use without injury or awkwardness. Ironically, the Enola location across the river not only has more smith machines, but has vertical ones. Go figure. But there are no true Olympic barbells or open squat racks like a other gyms have. So if you're serious about that kind of equipment, this not the gym for you. However, beyond that, this location used to have a full selection of American Barbell bands and other equipment. Over time, they have broken or were stolen (presumably). I've brought this up to management and they have failed to replace them. So I bought my own and bring them. They're not expensive at all, so there's no reason why this gym can't replace them. They're just cheap and greedy in that regard.

To sum it up, beyond the Black Card perks of going to any location and bringing a guest, I'm not sure why anyone would go to Planet Fitness unless they're meeting a strict budget.

Everything spread out like the cardio core and weights are on opposite sides <3 buttt they won’t let u carry around ur hoodie or small bag anymore?? my bag is not fitting a weight in it my phone headphones and Tampons. I don’t like that what if I need straps I gotta walk all the way back to the lockers or if I get cold?? Very clean and organized. However, employees must enforce the rule of no cell phone use. The exorbitant amount of recovery time taken by some members between sets is ridiculous. I'm here with 7 other cars in the parking lot, it says open at 4am but it's definitely not open yet. 5:20am-5:45am I drove 20 miles out of the way to workout here.

I miss the days when PF was a 24 hour gym. I remember going here after late nights of studying to get a workout in because I was avoiding home and the cheating ex.

Thankfully, life is better now, and it's still a really cool place to go get your cardio on or some light to mid weight lifting in. And it's great to bring your teenagers who want to get a little more fit as well. Staff is friendly, equipment is clean, and if you avoid the peak times, you can always get a Smith rack to do your heavier lifts.

I like the club but I use the 30-minute workout area and 3/4 of the people who use that equipment sit there on their phones and do multiple sets on a machine thwarting my progress through the machines. Also, at least 3/4 of the people use ear buds to listen to something of their choice but they play the music in the club so loud that you have to raise your volume up to ear damaging levels to hear your music, podcast, or book.

Super happy with my experience here. I live out of town but have been in the Linglestown/Harrisburg area for a couple of weeks. It's too hot to workout outside most days, so I needed a gym. Jason and the team there welcomed me with open arms despite the fact they knew my tenure with them would be short. And they didn't charge me a bunch of registration fees etc. They gave me a prorated monthly membership. The gym is clean, has all the equipment you'll need, has courteous members, has cleaning stations everywhere, and even has the GO PRO channel so I could watch some surfing and action sports while doing cardio. I recommend this gym to anyone looking for a gym in the area.

I have been a black card member of this gym for a long as there's been a black card. I drive truck and it makes it nice to be able to find and use a gym every where I travel. I have been to hundreds of PF gyms across America. NEVER one time have I ever been told I had to wear a certain type of attire. I came to this gym to do a quick 20 minute workout and was told I couldn't workout in the clothes I wore in. While I've generally enjoyed my experiences at Planet Fitness, I've recently encountered some discomfort during my visits. On my last visit, as soon as I sat down to start my workout, I was approached by another gym-goer who continuously stared at me throughout my entire workout. Despite my attempts to explain that I needed short rest periods due to health reasons and muscle recovery, she continuously interrupted me. Eventually, she went up to the front desk and complained, leading to me being asked to vacate the machine prematurely, even though I had only been using it for a short time. This experience was part of a pattern of harassment I've experienced at the gym. While I understand the importance of sharing equipment, I believe there should be a respectful understanding of each individual's needs and limitations. Overall, I hope for a more supportive and inclusive environment for all members.

I was a member years ago and recently rejoined. During my first visit, I remembered one of the reasons I left... went to use the free weights...3 benches... one had a water bottle under it (someone reserving the bench)... and the other two had two guys sitting on them playing with their phones. I was told about my gym bag and the now enforced rules which is cool, but after I was approached that's where it stopped! I seen a few people with backpacks afterwards and the person that approached me just walked by them. So let's be fair and tell everyone regardless of if it's a purse etc... I see people on a daily basis in crocs and barefoot at the Smith machines. PF is an extremely well run fitness facility. A member at a very low cost has access to every piece of fitness equipment one would ever need. They provide free personal training in small groups to expose members to a variety workout routines making it easy to get started in a healthy lifestyle. The staff works continuously to maintain and sanitize the top notch equipment. An adequate number of TV’s and uplifting background music set the stage for a pleasant workout that energizes the soul and promotes a sense of well being. For a small extra charge you an purchase a black membership which entitles you to hydro massage chairs and beds, red lighting therapy, tanning beds and an assortment of other benefits. They communicate well with their membership regarding infrequent changes in their hours during holidays or renovations. The atmosphere they maintain is very conducive to enjoying a pleasant workout where anyone can feel comfortable. Best of all though is despite the thousands that use each facility the staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home. For the majority of folks PF is a dream come true in the fitness industry and the competition’s worst nightmare. Go PF and 2 thumbs UP!

i came in the office to close my account about 2 years ago and kept getting charge. called 6/2022 again and they claimed it was closed. 6/23 they took a random 89 dollars and 10 dollars after that and the day after. Andria is the manager and gave me the number to ABC ( payments processors ) they said she never sent the request for the 89 dollars or my other 10. Nobody knows anything but Adria and she on vaca at the beach while her club owes me money! Its the 1st of the month and i keep getting the run around.
