The gym is neat and the workers clean frequent, the staff is friendly and firm and the equipment works reliably. I am a black card member and I travel to the city, so this is my gym of choice besides LA Fitness in camp hill. All the basic amenities are in this gym. The view from the location is nice and the atmosphere is very often cordial. Cons: less spacious.

I've been a member for over 2 years now. Generally speaking, I enjoy this gym. The staff are wonderful, and they keep the place so clean. They are constantly wiping down machines, cleaning the floors, dusting places I didn't even know needed dusting....just wonderful. I do get frustrated because there aren't a lot of smith machines, so I end up having to skip that part of my workout or wait for someone to finish, and it can get annoying. The price could also be lower, but it's not terrible. Otherwise, I have no complaints.

Revised... Had been going to this gym for most of a year, then ran into a member who seemed to think that the 30min zone was her personal workout space. There are signs that say, change machines when the traffic light changes. Several times, she sat on one of the machines for 10-15mins, playing with her phone. This time, I asked if I could use it, since it was the only machine I hadn't done that day. She told me "I'm done when I'm done, you can have it when I'm done". I walked away, did some of the cardio, I went back and she snaps at me, "if you don't like it, complain to mgmt". So I went to the front desk and told the employee what happened. (this was my 2nd run in with this member). The girl at the desk said she'd take care of it. 5 mins later, she walked to the edge of the 30min zone area, started talking to another member, then walked away. The woman was still sitting on the machine. The employee NEVER DID ANYTHING. I got my stuff and left. I've never gone back. This is supposed to be a "no harassment zone"... guess it is, as long as it's convenient and the employee doesn't have to do anything.

WAS a super clean gym, well stocked with equipment. Staff is very friendly and helpful when you need it, no pressure.

Nice and clean but bench presses are almost never free at 6am 9am noon 3pm or evening or night. Meanwhile half the eclipses are never touched. More than half the treadmills never touched. Balance is all wrong. Why. One reason it everyone is on their phone prolonging the time they use a machine. I am doing the same for this review so I know how easy it is to waiste time while others are waiting. Either change phone policy or balance out the gym is my suggestion.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but felt the experience I had yesterday was deserving of one.
I had somewhat complicated billing issue where I was being over charged per month for my membership. GM-Josh and team member Ethan went over and above to help me resolve this issue, and helped educate me moving forward to be sure this wouldn’t happen again. I really appreciated their professionalism and their sincere support to rectify the issue. Great experience, and I’m happy to refer others to this gym 👍

I am writing to formally complain about the unacceptable service and billing practices I've experienced with Planet Fitness. I was a member at the Harrisburg location before moving and transferring to Ephrata. Upon moving, I sent a cancellation letter to Harrisburg and Ephrata (both locations) and received email confirmation that my account was closed. However, I have continued to be charged by the Harrisburg Planet Fitness. When I contacted them, the employee I spoke with was incredibly rude and dismissive, making inappropriate comments about my financial situation stating what kind of job do I have that I don’t notice $20 coming out of it, and it must be nice. The social media support team has been equally unhelpful, giving me conflicting information and insisting I send another cancellation letter despite my having already received confirmation of cancellation. I demand a full refund for all unauthorized charges since the date of my confirmed cancellation and a guarantee that these charges will cease immediately. This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating, and I am deeply disappointed with Planet Fitness's handling of this matter. And I would suggest never using them.

Love this location. Staff is very nice. Plenty of space. I have been during the late morning 9-11am and then after work 530-8pm and not that crowded at all. Didn’t have to wait for machines or cardio equipment. Very clean. A patrons are very nice also.

I have visited this facility many times as a guest of my husband and recently their policies of no bags on the floor or sweatshirts/hoodies being able to be carried around has gotten way out of hand. I use a drawstring bag for my lifting straps and smith machine pad and I was immediately told I couldn't carry it around. Instead, I had to carry all my lifting equipment and just dump it on the floor next to the smith machine. How is this policy enforcing safety? We regularly go to the Hershey location now because it's cleaner, the employees are helpful and nice, and they actually allow you to carry the equipment you need to workout. Harrisburg really went downhill.

since march of last year planet fitness has been taking funds out of my account, sometimes double and even triple charging me on top of paying for my actual account. one month i paid $67. i have a $10 basic membership. i went in to switch my debit cards for my account, at which point the incompetent worker messed my account up for a year to follow. they were not able to figure out where the charge originated, couldnt figure out how to stop it, i made countless visits and calls to my home gym where the manager tried without success to fix my account. for some of those months i was unemployed, and planet fitness never refunded my money, though i was assured i would be refunded. i had to close down my account i had for years in order to stop the charges, which never stopped, so i have a negative balance from when the manager told me to keep my card open so they could refund that money, including my double annual membership fee i also paid. they didnt give me my money back, they took MORE money from me. this is so sad that no one cared enough to help me. i placed multiple complaints, each time i called they claimed they would elevate my case and someone would call me. no one called. ive totaled what was taken from me, i dont expect to get it back. i was a member of this gym for over 10 years. amazing, that even while planet fitness continued to steal what money i had while id lost my job, no one cared, not customer service, not the managers, im never recommending this gym to anyone ever again. I finally just a day ago i cancelled my account, and ill never be back, get your shit together, and train your employees and managers better, horrible. you dont care about the people. I'll be HAPPILY going to Crunch. stay FAR FAR AWAY from planet fitness. Not to mention at this location, the supervisors hit on the women who are working out. A gym should be a safe place. This gym is not safe, or competent. Scary that they have the ability to take peoples money and dont give it back, dont fix the issues, dont care.

Let me start off by saying that this is not my home Planet Fitness, but that I have visited this specific gym many times since it has opened.

Just this AM I was walking on the treadmill and about to finish my workout. The manager (whom I was told later by the desk clerk that it was Jeremiah) advised me that my sweatshirt, which I had laying on the handle of the treadmill, was not permitted and that it must it be worn. I was wearing a regular tank top at this time for full disclosure.

I asked if I could just put my swearshirt on the floor at which he replied that this was also not permissible.

Like I stated earlier, I have visited this specific gym many times in the past and on each occasion, have removed my sweatshirt/T-shirt after I warm up. This is the first time that I have been addressed with this "policy" at this PF or any PF for that matter.

To add to this as I was walking out I observed a female on the treadmill wearing a tank top with her jacket draped over the handle of the treadmill??

Be consistent with the enforcement of your policy or don't enforce it at all. I'm not sure if this is a local rule but I've never had this issue at ANY PFs in the past.

To be fair I'd like to state that this gym is very clean and well organized, and I wrote a great review reflecting those facts when this gym first opened.

I’ve been going to this location for many years. Recently I’ve been bothered by the disproportionate cleaning focus on equipment compared to the locker rooms. I’ve seen the same dirty qtip on the floor all week while the cup holders on the cardio seemingly get cleaned routinely.

The cleaners never check to refill empty paper towels, most time almost all the paper towels are empty, the men locker room have only Two hangers which is very sad, especially for spring and winter we don’t have hanger to hang jackets. The Treadmill should be calibrated beyond 1hour if not all but some specific ones, so people that love running can run for long without breaking or wait for the treadmill to boot again.

This planet fitness used to be great about 3 months ago... it's gone down hill bad... my favorite employee quit because of a fight that happened up front one day. People keep stealing the cable machine carribiners so half the machines you can't use. Broken equipment, broken locker doors in the locker room, I opened one up and it fell off the hinge. This place needs better monitored, it's becoming one of my least favorite planet fitness gyms in the area. There is a section of tvs that the picture is fuzzy, I had to ask staff to stock paper towels on 3 different visits, often opening the containers so it's obvious to staff. Please someone help fix this location up!!! It's going downhill fast and I don't feel safe anymore. I have had my membership for almost a year and this is my home gym, I have been to 5 other locations in the area.) It's like management has given up here :(

This Location is clean and well maintained but I thought the staff was unfriendly. When I wanted to use the spa the employee acted annoyed that I ask him to stop what he was doing. I waited a few minutes after the employee saw me and literally had to say "excuse can I use the spa" for him to walk over after heaving a big sigh and said "what do you need?" Sounding irritated. When I was asking asking questions about if the massage chairs where the newer old ones. He said "we have what we have" so I used the aqua lounge. Then I had to wait like 10 minutes for the aqua lounge to turn on. I finally got up and was walking back to the front desk when I heard it turn on. I have never waited for the machines to take that long to turn on.

Nice I wish they stayed open longer on the weekends. I mean it makes sense most ppl work during the week and off weekends. I'm definitely not going to the gym late at night during the week but I might go in the middle of the nighton the weekends. The only complaint I have is the spray bottle issue. They need to come up with a better way and more. I don't want to spray it take it back then walk back over to my machine last time I did that someone got on my machine. Central penn fitness has bottles and rags for everyone then they refill them and wash the rags
