I’ve been going to the Planet Fitness in Monroeville for over 3 years now and it’s always clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful too. Lately, I’ve noticed one employee, Kayla, who is always working hard — every time I’m there she’s cleaning and keeping the place looking great. Her effort definitely doesn’t go unnoticed:)

I’m not quite sure if this is illegal, but it’s definitely a health hazard. The Planet Fitness in Monroeville hasn’t had water in the men’s room for at least a week, maybe more. There are three faucets to wash your hands, and there’s a sign that the faucets are broken. It is super disgusting that you can’t wash your hands after going to the bathroom or working out. There are so many things broken at this gym on a constant basis, and it takes weeks, even months, to get the equipment repaired. It appears it’s going to take that long to get the faucets repaired.

For the most part, this is decent planet fitness. There are a few things wrong like the soap dispensers in the men's room have been empty for a few days and it seems like it takes longer for this PF to fix the gym equipment when it breaks.

The massage chair has been broke for two months and the one next to it is just about to break and hasn’t been fixed. The toilet and men’s room is broken into the other pieces of equipment. The gym are broke. This is the worst planet fitness in the area.

I talked to the manager at the Planet Fitness, and she was explaining why the equipment takes so long to get fixed and that it’s not necessarily the Planet Fitness in Monroeville not wanting to fix it. It’s just that the service group that fixes it takes a long time to fix it and leaves a long time to get the parts. I do appreciate her updating me, and I thought I’d pass it along. The massage chairs have them fixed and a few other pieces of equipment break down here or there, but in general, I’m thinking that’s always going to happen.

My brother is a black card holder and I use the guest pass, and typically we go to natrona heights planet fitness. I’ve never ever been told by that location or any other that I can’t go in without him as long as he unlocks the pass. I even am friendly with the staff and they take a look at the screen. I’ve been going for three months. Yesterday I went to the monroeville location and they took my bag behind the desk- whatever- but they never said anything about my guest pass. Today I go in and the reject me and tell me I’m not allowed in. Never going back to this location. Rude staff who have no sympathy for anything. My fitness isn’t just a hobby, I’m working towards a goal and my brother PAYS for a black card member ship ONLY because of this feature, and they just sent me out on my ass.

Friendly staff and good quality equipment aside from the jacked up paper towel dispensers. Not very crowded most of the time. The worst thing about the location is unfortunately the most important aspect of finding a gym to work out at. PF Monroeville has the gym equivalent of bankers hours and if you have a regular schedule you will have a hard time finding time to access the location while it's open. I've never been to a PF that wasn't open 24/7, and I've lived in very remote locations, so it's surprising that one in a moderately sized city like Pittsburgh would be an exception. I will be searching for a gym with more accessible hours when my annual membership fees expire.

I feel like a kid in a candy shop, there’s so many different types of machines. It would takes hours and hours to sample them. Once the lifting and running is finished, they have HydroMassage beds to get the kinks out. This is the perfect spot to continue your upwards trajectory after Physical Therapy. Facility is clean and has jumping music playing, big screen TVs, huge ventilation fans. Absolutely ideal!!!

I’ve been a member of Planet Fitness for over a year and had never encountered any issues until recently. Previously, the staff was always amazing—friendly and welcoming, creating a comfortable environment for everyone. However, my experience drastically changed when a new employee, Cayla, joined the team.

Since her arrival, using the tanning bed—one of the perks I pay for with my Black Card membership—has become unnecessarily difficult. On multiple occasions, Cayla has made it challenging for me to enjoy a service I’m entitled to, causing me to lose motivation to visit this location altogether.

During my last visit, I asked to use a bed that hadn’t just been used because of the heat post use. After preparing to tan, I realized the bed hadn’t started. This was frustrating as I had to get dressed, walk back to the front, and ask the staff to resolve the issue. My boyfriend, who also has a Black Card, kindly let the staff know the bed wasn’t working. Shockingly, one of Cayla’s new hires was unnecessarily rude to him, repeatedly asking which bed he was tanning in & not listening to him despite him clearly explaining that he wasn’t tanning and was just passing along MY message.

Even after they turned the bed on, they shut it off after just 30 seconds. When I confronted them, they claimed my boyfriend wasn’t allowed in the back, despite his Black Card membership that he pays for every month. This incident felt like we were being bullied and discriminated against, which is completely at odds with Planet Fitness’ “Judgement Free Zone” motto.

Due to the ongoing unprofessionalism and discrimination from Cayla and her team, I canceled my membership. I’m deeply disappointed with the treatment I received and won’t be returning to this location. The customer service I experienced was a far cry from what Planet Fitness claims to represent.

This review is based on one person, Cayla. I am recovering from a serious injury wearing a brace, I come specifically for the red light therapy. every time I come, Cayla takes at least five minutes before turning the light on. She seems to be preoccupied on the phone or computer…today after undressing and waiting… I had to redress, go out front and ask for light to be turned on….undressed again, got tired of waiting (can’t stand that long)and finally got dressed and left while she said she was “busy getting yelled at on the phone.” No wonder!!

My girlfriend and I have been black card members for years now but they recently changed their hours to no longer be 24/7 my work schedule doesn’t allow me to get there by 7 on the days they close. I don’t think it would be so bad if it wasn’t 24/7 anymore but to close at 7 is absolutely ridiculous! I think they shouldn’t close any earlier than midnight but I’m just deciding which gym I’d like to change memberships for at this point.

Staff is super nice and the place is clean. Would be 5 stars, but a good bit of time the music is super loud. With 300$ noise canceling headphones I can’t flush it out. I just turn off my music on those days, but definitely loud enough to cause headaches for some people. Loud music, plus seeing Jerry Springer every day are my only real complaints. Generally it’s a pretty good place though

I'm almost exclusively an owl, and the overnight staff here are some of the brightest, kindest service workers I've ever encountered. Always a kind word and a smile, I've never made it through the door without a greeting or a farewell. Extremely accommodating and always an open ear for any request or concern, very hard workers who pay attention and go above and beyond to maintain equipment and locker rooms to an expert level of care ane cleanliness. I am forever grateful to the team for their approach and ethic.

Absolutely the best gym for the price, and please DO NOT skip the Total Body Enhancement machine.
Before I started using it, after my workouts I would be sore. Now, I never get sore when I use it.

The best part about Planet Fitness besides the $22 per month fee is the fact that they have them in just about every state so when I travel cross-country I can stop in and work out and take a quick shower or just relax on the hydro massage bed for a nice massage before getting back on the road. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Stopped in last night while in town for work (I'm from FL.) This is the 6th location I've been to in 6 days crossing the U.S. for my job from FL to NM, IL and now here. Nora was on top of everything and was very helpful (despite the snafu with the tanning booth. I asked for a few minutes to get ready and she forgot to turn on the booth. An awkward phone call from me and she fixed everything most ricky-tick.) The young man working (didn't catch his name but it appeared he was new) did his best and despite having to ask for help from Nora, was great. It's clear he's eager to learn and that will help him go a long way. Happened to find a wallet & motorcycle key in the locker room. The only other person there said it wasn't his so I took it to the counter. Later, the newer employee said the gentleman who it belonged to asked for my info to thank me. If you see this buddy, you're welcome. That's all there needs to be. I'd hope someone would do the same for me if I left my stuff out. The world would be a lot better if we all just looked out for one another.
Clean facility. No smells or trash. Machines were clean and plentiful. Used the Tanning and Total Body (love the tanning booths and wish my home club had them. The extra ventilation makes a difference) all in all, a great visit. I will be saving this location to maps should I be in town again and will return.

The cleanest Planet Fitness have stepped into many months. It was immaculate. Friendly staff that greets guests as they come in and leave. Gym is on the smaller side but is not crowded at all. Gym crowd is mostly made of 30 plus professionals.

Overall it appears clean but not if you pay attention to details

The tanning beds are dusty on top and behind
The glass underneath the top is forgotten on occasion
The doors to the beds also could use a different cleaner to remove fingerprints and streaks
Ive tried wiping down myself with the provided cleaner and it fails

The treadmills & ellipticals are dusty on the bottoms more often than not
The mat in the entry way could be vacuumed daily and it also needs washed
And an additional mat between the doors could also be beneficial

Not the best gym to go to. Sure it’s cheap. But is it worth it? Staff was very friendly walking in, but they have little to know space and equipment for real lifting. Only 2 benches for free weights and 3 smith machines that will likely always be in use by one of the 2 types of people: A. Your every day instagram fitness model who spends more time on their phone than actually lifting, or B. The person who thinks they own the machine and decides to base their entire workout around using it. So good luck “benching” on one of their smith machines or dumbbell pressing because there aren’t enough benches. They should remove a 1/4 of their useless machines and free up more space for free weight use and cables.

Our experience here was very bad me and my fiance were looking to get two memberships here for the 10 dollars a month and one of the employees talked us into the other membership which is $20 plus a month and a guest can come with you for free and he mentioned everything is included and we'll save money so we were like ok sounds great let's do it after everything was said and done the employee did his finally part and walked away, another employee came over to make sure everything was ok we were like we still had a few more questions the employee that set everything up walked away and took care of another customer leaving us clueless and also started to eat his lunch right behind the register very unprofessional as me and my fiance was so ready to work out one of the employees mentioned the guest can't do everything we were like huh the other employee said everything was included which was incorrect information, so we ask what can the guest do? He said the guest can use all the workout equipment but not the massage chairs, hydromessage, tanning or the total body enhancement we don't understand why the other employee talked us into this membership when we mentioned to him that we would like a membership that includes everything for both of us, as were talking we noticed the employee who misled us in the employee break room right in the doorway holding the door open with his foot sitting in a chair watching and listening to everything eating his lunch he didn't even apologize about misleading us it was like a joke to him we canceled or membership the same day the employee kept talking about the $15 dollar refund he can't do it without the supervisor we wasn't worried about the deposit it's the fact that we were mislead and giving the wrong information that's what it's about..

This location is very clean and friendly! There is always staff ready and willing to help all members with any issues! The machines are well kept and the gym is always spotless! If I do not see a worker helping a member, then the staff is busy cleaning, which is amazing to see at a gym!
