Not happy with 8720 Frankford ave planet fitness at all
Work out should be top priority not The staff always in the way cleaning and shutting machines down clocking who I bring inn as a plus one so I stopped my black card and did classic membership for that reason,
locker room is filthy especially the dressing room ,lockers filthy and stink and never cleaned by staff ,most of paper towels dispensers empty broken along with spray bottles always broke .,yet thereโs always a staff member acting like the cleaning with the vacuum in the way ,air quality not good ! Poor air circulation,crap flying in the air that the ceiling fans keep blowing around and around.
Now for my most recent experience with planet fitness staff which been due to staff not checking gym equipment and cleaning equipment of straps that do not belong on (pull up bars)and enforcing what can and canโt be fastened to it ,especially when people strap straps to pull up bars that should not been fastened there ,and due to members and staff not freeing equipment from contraband materials So I take it down by cutting having no other option while my work out time is being wasted trying to do someone elseโs responsibilities or job.
So instead of planet fitness staff who see me every morning for years now or how ever long they worked there cause I was there before all of the workers there ,non professionalism by PF by email โnot in person ,& not a call ,but in the email
Saying they โ watched their cameraโ and seen me come out the locker room with a knife ( key chain seat belt cutter ) and my membership has been canceled and banned from all PF with zero balance owed on my account and my recent yearly membership fee taken out of my bank account .?
Not an apology ,No warnings and no damage quote or no reimbursement And No solution to this madness except banning me ? No professionalism showed by PF franchise .

Some employees give a really negative impression when I ask to use the massage machines, it doesn't match the environment, 3 stars for that. I would also like to thank employees like Andrew, only great feedback. The gym is very clean and overall I like it and recommend it! I chose Planet Fitness because of the benefits of using the Black Card Spa. I still believe I made a good choice because it helps with recovery from workouts.

Not enough treadmills. If you come in after work there are often not enough treadmills available or just too many people to have a comfortable distance with people coughing and sneezing all over during exercise. They are right on top of each other or many out of service. With reduced hours at this club compared to sister clubs they need more treadmills. Frustrating.

The way the gym reps behaved to me is not STELLAR SERVICE,turning away a fully paid customer away not letting them do workout is not a good manner at all. Even if they show their bank account not even ready to listen and making us run around from on e club to another is not humanity. Your system glitch doesn't have to affect a fully paid member and you guys are even charging the monthly and annual fee on time.
I am a black card member. There is a system glitch and eveytime I scan in their system it shows pending payment but my app says all up to date. When this happend last time I verified with the gym manager and even showed my bank account that pf charges me every month and even my annual fee is also taken. Last week after verifying the manager told the supervisor to go with the app and there is a system glitch. Today while I came for workout I was told by the employee that I cannot access that gym. Even if showed her again my app and payment details she didn't let me in. I was told to go to my home gym. THIS IS THE WAY THIS GYM TREATS THE MEMBERS EVEN IF THEY ARE GETTING CHARGED AND IS A BLACK CARD MEMBER, WONT ALLOW ACCESS TO THE GYM EVEN IF YOU SHOW YOUR BANK ACCOUNT. SO RUDE AND I WAS MADE RUN AROUND TO ANOTHER GYM BECAUSE YOUR SYSTEM IS HAVING A GLITCH , RIDICULOUS EMPLOYEE WHO IS NOT READY TO HELP OR GO OVER THE ACCOUNT SHE JUST TOLD ME TO GO TO OTHER GYM.

A great place to work out and stay fit! Very clean, helpful staff, and good machines on the floor as well as in the Black Card area. But two problemsโneither of which are the fault of the Pennypack staff:
1) When a machine malfunctions, it takes a LONG time before the higher-ups send someone out to fix it. When it's the only machine of its type there, that is a real problem.
2) The WiFi does not work AT ALL. It was always weak there, but now it is nonexistent. PF's ad says "Enjoy free WiFi at Planet Fitness. Just ask for the WiFi password at the front desk." This is fraudulent advertising, if there is no working WiFi! I pay my full Black Card membership every month, and I expect to get what I pay for. Fix the WiFi, please!!!
Except for these two rather serious problems, I have loved being a member here for several years now.

When I started exercising here a couple of years ago, it was great. It wasn't crowded, and I could always get the machines I wanted. Now, it gets crowded. However, it is still a nice place with friendly employees and new machines. I have to switch up my routine to accommodate the crowd.

Clean gym. Nice people. Lots of parking. Good staff. HOWEVER! The air conditioning and heating system seem to be fighting it out. There are blasts of cold air and pockets of hot drafts all over the gym. And the back area is like a jungle, hot and humid.

Phenomenal staff, super friendly, and highly caring. They help me anytime I have a question or need something. Just recently I suddenly was not feeling well during my work out session and the staff jumped in right away to help me. They took care of the whole issue. Truly kind folks. I could not be more grateful. The premises are also always spotless clean, plenty of great equipment to choose from. I highly recommend this location!!!

The atmosphere is really chill. It is clean and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Tanning beds also are clean. The machines are available and I usually only have to wait a few minutes to get on the Smith machine. I love how you can scan the QR code in the PF app to see how to use the machine. I am a newbie so it is super important for me to learn how to use all the machines and equipment to my advantage. I feel planet fitness has alot of good features that I will be taking advantage of lile hydro massage and red light therapy. Definitely recommend it here.

This location is very clean and organized. Itโs nice to come and find the weights on the racks instead of having to walk around the gym for 5-10 minutes locating equipment like I had to at the Cottman location. Itโs also nice that itโs less crowded instead of with a bunch of teenagers standing around on their phones. And the bathrooms and showers are clean.

Went in there with jeans and they would let me work out. The rule they have is if the jeans have grommets which mine did NOT. Had to go change and come back. Plus the gym is mostly full consistently and some of the members don't know gym courtesy and let people jump in between their sets especially if it's crowded and there's only 2 machines for the entire gym. They will literally say I'm working on this machine and sit there resting instead of letting people jump in when they rest. It's just selfish.

Stephanie, this location's manager, took a personal, caring, and empathetic interest in my situation. She understood all that I have been through, health wise, and the challenges I must deal with daily as a result. She personally followed up and was successful in returning money which was automatically debited during the times when I was having surgery and while in the hospital, since I obviously could not even get to the facility, let alone utilize its services, equipment, and amenities. Lastly, she will be conferring with her resident expert trainer, Emily, in order to come up with the absolute best plan and strategy in order for me to continue my recovery, along with the therapy which was administered during my 6 week, hospital supervised, cardiac rehab program program, so I can continue to strengthen and make sure my body has little or no setbacks, moving forward! This is NOT what you would expect from the average Planet Fitness location, and why you really need to consider starting or transferring your membership here! I have no doubt you will get far more from Stephanie and Emily, which will exceed your expectations!

I'm in my forties and love waking up early and working out it was hard at first but after 2 weeks get addicted and you start eating healthier and you just look and feel like you have natural energy and I wear less make-up now then I did in my twenties Planet Fitness is always clean and very friendly and very spaced out so when you're working out you're not on top of everyone and there is a variety of different things you can do they just need to start staying open 24 hours like they used to before the covid

Great staff, price is great, equipment is always clean, like every gym there are some slip ups once in a blue moon but seeing some of these post, theyโre just ridiculous. They can only control what happens in THEIR gym not the damn prices. And on THEIR watch, I can say theyโre amazing. From the moment you walk in until you walk out. I watch the lady train people sheโs getting paid to train but still help someone on the side thatโs about to strain her back because sheโs in the wrong form while still giving her attention and respect to her clients. Itโs literally a judgment free zone in this place. I came in weighing 283 feeling like everyone was judging and watching me, all I got were โgood morningsโ and smiles as they walked by and now Iโm down to 235. Itโs a great place if youโre looking for a gym.
