Located in the financial district, this gym can be a bit tricky to find. The address is clear, but the entrance isn't well marked—it's on the second floor of a corporate high-rise, so look for the Citizens Bank ATM.

The layout feels a bit unusual, likely due to space constraints, but they've managed to fit in a good selection of equipment. I was able to find everything I needed, and the street views from several spots are a nice bonus for people-watching.

All the equipment is in good shape, clean, and features personal entertainment systems. The members were all polite, and the front desk staff, Dennis and Maya, were both incredibly helpful and friendly.

The showers are large, though you'll need to bring your own soap. Lockers require you to bring a lock, but they are available for purchase. A nice feature: the lockers in the main area have USB-A ports for charging your phone while you work out.

On a final note, I hope the brand will eventually add stand-alone squat racks, barbells, and heavier dumbbells and kettlebells. But for most people (and for me most of the time), the current setup is more than workable.

The workers at 18th st. Planet Fitness make this an enjoyable location to visit. They seem to genuinely care.

First of all the gym is extremely clean. The front desk staff is really nice. The manager Tadita is really cool and pleasant always making sure she tells you "Enjoy Your Workout". The equipment is pretty good especially now that they have some plate loaded equipment. I walk 2/12 miles each way to come to this gym, it's my favorite PF!

I love this location so much that I transferred my membership to make this my new home location even though it’s an extra 10 minutes away than the planet fitness closer to me. The staff here really makes the place special, Hassan the assistant manager always remembers everyone and is so kind, Sunny is always so helpful, and the manager Tadita keeps the place so clean :-)

Usually clean, not noisy, and outside peak periods has lots of stations available. Strong culture of conscientiousness as well -- most gym attendees keep to the rules of not slamming their weights, not making excessive noise, and cleaning their stations after use. Staff are friendly and attentive (even remembered my birthday, which was nice). For $15/mo it's an absolute steal.

This particular Planet Fitness is a standard gym. If you are trying to burn calories. This is the place for you. Trying to bulk up, cut or gain muscle? Not so much. Unless you go in the late, late night, early, early morning hours. There aren't many of the same machines to choose from, set aside from treadmills and stair climbers. Most participants hog the machines most people would like to use. Like bench press machines or benches. The staff is great, friendly and accommodating. Other than that. Go elsewhere.

Especially for the price, this has been a good gym. While it can get crowded, no more so than any other place in Center City at peak times. I’ve been going here for maybe 6 months now and, although the staff are great and everything is clean, I’m slowly getting more and more frustrated with the setup of the space. There is way too little strength equipment and way too much cardio equipment, so I often can’t get to what I need when I need it. Getting a smith machine is a miracle. Meanwhile, about 50 unused treadmills take up a ton of space. There’s also no real area for warm up/stretching except one very small, busy corridor next to the locker rooms, which only truly fits 2 people. Others tend to line up in the hallway in whatever space they can awkwardly squeeze into. Meanwhile, tons of people are walking past while you’re trying to stretch or whatever. It’s frequently crowded and you really have to time your visits well. Overall, I’m really not loving this gym and will likely switch.

One of the overnight workers was very rude and disrespectful one morning. I wrote an email to the General Mgr, not only did he condone the disrespectful comments made to me, he was rude and disrespectful as well. Now I see how the young adult worker is being mislead. The General Mgr at 1835 is putting young adult workers in comprimising situations by condoning poor customer service. General Mgr needs to be talked to and written up/ possibly moved to another area. This location is too much for him to manage. Never experienced this type of treatment before. Manager canceled my contact without my permission but left me a balance to pay. Potential lawsuit.

this is my go to gym. so far the planet fitness ive been the most comfortable in. the staff is pretty nice, some unenthused and bored seeming, but frankly i would be too. a couple of the guys are very attentive though. the bathrooms are pretty much always clean which is nice to rely on. equipment is a little sparse but it is a small sort of homey space so to be expected. as long as you go during non peak hours this isnt a problem.

As a black card member, I try to avoid this PF when possible. The layout is OK but I'm not a fan of the homeless using the bathrooms and hanging out in the locker room. They need to make a separate room for those who want to sit on the equipment and play on there phones instead of using it what it is designed for. I have changed my workout with another exercise, did 4 sets of 8-10 reps only to go back and find that same person still playing on there phone....
I'm there to workout not exercise my social media skills.

The front desk staff gives you a pleasant greeting upon entering the gym. The weight stations has time counters which is pretty cool. The staff is always working on keeping the gym clean. Staff is very friendly. Would highly recommend this gym.
