Not sure why leg machines were taken away. No matter what time you go, you have to wait to use the two remaining leg machines. There were two leg press machines, now there is only one. Again, you have to wait to use this machine. The new layout allows for no privacy since you are eye to eye with others when exercising. I don’t like the new layout, but what’s worse is the removal of the leg machines. I may start looking for another club.

The Planet Fitness in Folsom, PA is one of the best gyms I’ve been to! The facility is always clean and well-maintained, and the equipment is in great condition. The staff is super friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with questions or give guidance. Who the heck redesigned this place?? You closed off the front door to the main parking and handicap parking! Lined the whole length of the place with mirrors blocking the natural light from coming in. Set up machines so your face to face with people, what a stupid idea! Took out leg machines on the upper deck that were popular. The whole place is in total disarray. It makes no sense how things are set up. AND they purposly took Fox News off of all the tv's.

Oof this is a rough reconfiguration. Multiple machines are facing each other for no reason so you have to stare at someone while using them. Easily avoidable with some thought, whoever laid these out doesn't actually use them. Also some of the stretching devices women would typically use are uncomfortably situated where everyone can watch you do things you used to be able to do discretely before. Everything is incredibly awkward unless you want to look at some stranger in the eyes while using things. Will probs start going to Woodlyn which is unfortunate since I used to love this location. One bonus star because they still have the older style treadmills which are actually accurate.

As someone who comes straight from work why is carrying around a small tote while I workout such an issue? I have been here for two months and this has never been a problem. It isn’t even a safety concern because I keep it under my feet when I workout. I think half of the people who work here walk around and nit pick everything because they have nothing better to do. The workers here are great. The bathrooms are always in need of attention. Paper towels in the workout areas are frequently empty. And as great of an idea of letting the kids workout for free in the summer - it is also not a good idea. Unfortunately the kids are not there to workout. It is more of a social meet up. You have to wait to get on machines. Forget about doing floor exercises because kids are running around and doing crazy things with the exercise bands - stretching them out and then letting them go on each other. Bouncing the yoga balls all over.

Had an awful experience with a miserable man at the front desk his name is Erik He continued to tell me I don’t have a membership when I clearly do. The screen on my phone was broke and I believe he didn’t feel like looking me up in the computer I visit planet fitness, and other states and have no trouble getting in his awful demeanor, makes it for a very unpleasant experience. I hold a black card membership at the venue, and I usually invite my friends to join me there. However, I've noticed an issue that seems to arise repeatedly: there's a particular staff member—a white man with long black hair and a mustache—who always seems to give my guests a hard time. There has been intermittent HOT water for a week and the staff says " I don't know what to tell you" what kind of answer is that. It only takes a few hours to replace a instahot water heater in the men's room. Or repair. It seems to only stay hot for a few minutes and then it's cold for twice the amount. there's definitely something wrong with it because it was not like that before
Multi million dollar company and I'm left to take cold showers. I've seen prisons that have better accommodations. And also stop cleaning the bathroom and showers when people are trying tp get ready for work. Zero stars for stupidity.

This gym needs a serious cleanup. It’s big enough to get a good workout in but within the past few weeks it’s been very dirty and I saw a mouse below the equipment. I was disgusted and I reported it to one of the staff. The staff said that they have been told but nothing has been done. Who ever is part of cooperate needs to get in control of this and call pest control. Absolutely disgusting to see a mouse crawling around the gym during my workout.

My 17 year old son Damien Hocker went to the Planet Fitness in Ridley Township or the Planet Fitness in Woodlyn (both located on MacDade Blvd.) almost every day until he was hit by a car and died on April 17, 2024 while walking home from the Planet Fitness in Woodlyn. Our family has started a petition for pedestrian safety in Damien's memory with the hope of making our community safer for pedestrians. Planet Fitness encourages children in our community to come to the gym with their free summer pass for high school students BUT refuses to help our efforts to keep children in our community safe by allowing a couple copies of our petition to be displayed at the gym. Many of the children in our community who go to the Planet Fitness on MacDade Blvd. walk to the gym. I'm not sure why Planet Fitness would not be interested in an effort to keep children safe but I am surprised and frustrated that after multiple requests to have the petition displayed they have failed to do so.

The gym is clean, but the weird things that the workers let slide is getting to be ridiculous. I would go early in the morning. There are people who will use two machines at a time and jump back and forth between them, then once they're done they won't wipe either down. I've seen couples walking around and using equipment without shoes on, also not wiping machines down after. As well as someone repeatedly slamming a ball on the ground, which I would at least think would set off the lunk alarm as eveybody was visibly annoyed, but absolutely none of the wokers cared. These experiences make me hesitant to return to any Planet Fitness.

I recently visited Planet Fitness and had an unfortunate experience. At 9:50 AM, the cleaning staff was using a vacuum and tending to the restroom, which significantly compromised the privacy of those using the facilities. I have been waiting for 30 minutes for the cleaner to leave because I feel very uncomfortable with someone being present while I’m undressed, as I need to shower before going to work.

Moreover, it seems the restroom hasn't been cleaned for months, and they chose the busiest time of day to conduct this maintenance, disrupting the clients. This experience has been very frustrating, and I don't plan on returning to this location again.

Overall, while the gym offers good equipment and a friendly staff, the lack of consideration for clients' privacy and the poor timing of the cleaning schedule are serious issues that need to be addressed.

It was very clean and the employees were friendly. There were plenty of machines (seemed as though there were at least two of each resistance machines) and they were spaced out well so that I didn’t feel tightly packed in with other patrons. I also liked the space in the upstairs functional training area. Finally, most important for me, the temperature control was perfectly chilly. For it to be a heat advisory, it was a nice break from the extreme heat outside and allowed for me to work out hard without being drained from any heat inside the gym. Definitely will return.

I go later at night to try and avoid frustration. Tonight at the free weights I noticed one couple not wipe down the bench, everyone who had a bench but me was on it still even after I was done my 45 minute workout, and a group of guys came over that took 3 or 4 sets worth of dumbbells each.
I don’t bother saying anything to the front desk because nothing ever gets done about it. I would recommend having employees walk the floor, and watch out for behavior that isn’t gym friendly. I feel like too many people that come here lack common sense and social awareness.

Love PF, so bright and CLEAN!! And the front desk people are awesome. I usually see the same crew since their shift is 2PM-10PM and my schedule makes that the easiest time for me to go. The other night I was feeling really dizzy after doing my usual 65 minutes on the elliptical machine upstairs. I drank about 16 ounces of water and sat for about 20 minutes. I still felt dizzy (realized later my blood sugar was low - not diabetic, just sensitive) and when I asked Aliyah (probably wrong spelling, sorry!) if she’d watch me walk to my car since it was close, she offered and walked me out. I called my friend, who pointed out I hadn’t eaten recently enough and stayed on the line while I drove the less than two miles home. I spoke with Lamin later and told him I was sure any of the staff would have done the same and he assured me they would have. He walked me through transferring my home club designation to Ridley Park even though it was very simple. Stuff like that usually frustrates me but it was a snap with his assistance. I’ve seen all the staff cleaning at different times so I’ve had a much different experience than some other people who have complained about the gym being dirty. Thanks,:PF midday crew!!

I have been trying for quite some time to cancel my membership. After visiting several locations, l finally canceled membership on November 9th, 2023, ( Folsom/Ridley Park).
But, my account is still being charged.
Plus, upon further inspection l joined through my employer AA discount plan (Active and Fit Direct) so it turns out l wasn't supposed to be billed $10 monthl., and $25 monthly from them.
I WILL NOT continue to deal with that childish, rude, snippy girl they have chosen to give the undeserved manager title (Amyra). I was given a bad number to speak with someone at ABC for billing issues.
But, l was unable to get through to anyone.
To date, after relaying that information to that RUDE childish manager, l have not received a return call from them either.
It has been nearly impossible to reach their corporate office by phone or any other means. I am tired and frustrated.
If l continue to get the run around, l am going to file a Class Action suit about their unscrupulous business practices.

As an introvert the thought of joining a gym has always stressed me out. When I was making some big life changes I finally decided to step out of my comfort zone and give it a go. I’m so glad that I did.

I live near a planet fitness, so I did my research (they have some helpful gym tour videos on their website) and bought a black card subscription. I downloaded the app, packed a gym bag, and went in.

I went to the front desk and asked how to check in- it’s easy, you pull up the app and it has a QR code that you can scan at the desk as you walk in (you don’t actually need to talk to anyone).

The woman at the desk asked if I wanted a tour, and she gave me a ~10 minute walk around which was super helpful for me to get my bearings.

The whole vibe/idea of this gym is “no judgement” and it works super well. Everyone minds their own business and nobody is ever staring at you or showing off in a way that makes you feel bad.

Another big plus is that there is no annoying sales person trying to upsell you on anything when you are there- once you sign up on the site, that’s it. Simple.

Planet Fitness genuinely surprised me, I did not expect a big chain to have such positive vibes. It’s been almost 2 weeks, and I’m still excited to go in every morning- my workout time is also my decompression time (no kids, no work, no life problems in this space), which I recommend for you as well.

If you are thinking about it, just take that first step- I believe in you!!

I've had a membership for 3 or 4 years now and suddenly the last 2 visits I've been hassled about having a small half backpack with me. It holds my water bottle, keys, earbuds, chapstick, hand sanitizer, and phone. Other than my keys, it's all things I actively use depending on what equipment I'm on. In all the years I've been coming here no staff member has ever bothered me about this. There are hooks on the machine used to hang the backpack. It would be super inconvenient for me to have to run back and forth to the lockers during my workout. I think there are more important things to monitor like the folks who take up 2 machines at once or the sweaty ppl who use the equipment and don't clean it. If this continues I may find another gym.

The floors are never vacuumed or mopped anymore. The paper towel dispensers are often empty or the spray bottles don’t spray. The mirrors are always crazy dirty AFTER they clean it… half of the TVs are either frozen on the same channels (going on over a month) or just turned off.

It was ok. Just stopped in to look around.
Had read some negative reviews. Never been there so I thought I'd see for myself.
Walked in and Alisha greeted me and asked me if I needed any right off the start. She was very nice and polite young lady.
Thought it was going to be crowded by the amount of cars in their parking lot but it wasn't.
Don't know where all those people who owned those cars were but they weren't in planet fitness.

I’ve been going to PF for 16 years and have never had an issue with having a knapsack or bag of any kind(12x12inches), I know now it’s an issue but in the wrong way. I was confronted by a worker today, put on by his manager in all black at the front instead of her, as the manager handling the “violation” herself. In a coached dialogue I was told bags aren’t allowed as they are an insurance tripping liability, which I understood but the next part I felt extremely stereotyped and racially profiled as a white male with a buzz cut and tattoos. I was told I was a possible gunmen or shooter and asked if I had a gun in my bag and that’s why bags aren’t allowed in todays climate. I was so distraught I immediately said I was leaving. As soon as I find time I’ll be canceling and joining a more “socially” friendly gym that doesn’t stereotype. I typically spend an additional $80 a month in drinks too. A shame PF doesn’t want my kind in their establishment because of an “socially entitled” manager. A real shame.

No etiquette here. People occupy a machine and just keep it for an hour, with no regard to whether others are waiting for it, while actually spending 90% of their time messing on their phone instead of using it.
