Founded in 1964, Pottstown Dance Theatre provides exceptional education in the art of dance. We have positively affected dance students’ lives for over fifty years and have consistently been voted “Best Dance School” by Mercury Readers for over a decade. PDT offers dance classes and lessons in Ballet and Pointe, Tap, Modern, Jazz, African, Hip-Hop, Creative Movement, Irish, Break Dance, Highland, Musical Theater, and Pilates. We base the ballet program on the Vaganova Syllabus, as set up by the school of the Kirov Ballet in Russia. We welcome the student who works toward a career in dance, as well as the student that dances purely for the joy of movement and the benefits that transfer into daily living.

I had the honor of filming the dancers from Pottstown Dance Theatre this weekend, to feature them in Grunt If You Understand program. I look for dancers with solid training, but moreso, those who are stellar examples of etiquette and grace, and who wish to grow and expand their learnings. I found all of that and more in these lovely dancers! Our 3 hours filming together flew by, and I look forward to working with them again! Thank you, Michelle Renee Wurtz for this opportunity!

We can't say enough good things about PDT! They have such a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. From a young age they are focused on artistry not just pushing out performances. The staff are all excellent and accomodating. I'm so glad we have this gem in our neighborhood!

My son has taken ballet, Irish, tap, and break dance for three years now. My daughter is in her second year of ballet and is now starting Irish and tap. They are both in The Nutcracker this year, too. They love the teachers and learning about various kinds of dance.

This studio is amazing, they really care about the dancers, and the staff is very knowledgeable and compassionate. I would highly recommend this if you are looking for a place to learn and grow.

My 2 kiddos are current students. My oldest started while in elementary school and I loved that:
1. We could try the class free before committing.
2. There are no costume fees or competitions. I appreciate the share bins for little dancers that experience frequent growth spurts so I’m not constantly having to purchase new shoes.
3. The friends that the dancers make are wonderful.
4. The technique and technique and dance education these kids develop is unparalleled.
5. The pricing for the classes is more than fair.

Both of my children have been dancing here since they were four. The staff is amazing. Not only are my children learning the art of dance, but they're learning discipline, dedication, and respect in the process. As someone who trained at this school and danced professionally for 15 years, looking back now I realized this school gave me a top notch dance education. I now return from time to time to give Master Classes. I highly recommend this Dance School!
