As someone who doesn’t work out at all and has anxiety going to the gym in general. This was the perfect spot for me to feel comfortable moving around my body and learning from our instructor how to do certain things in order to get a good workout. Such an amazing environment highly recommend!

I really enjoyed visiting Pure Barre Shadyside! I took the 6:30am Pure Barre Classic class with Summer, and it was quite literally the perfect way to start my day. You get a full body workout plus stretching, which is wonderful. The small movements had me shaking like a leaf at times, but I felt so energized afterwards. The staff is incredible, giving new participants a tour of the facility and also giving hands-on corrections during class to ensure you get the most out of the workout. The space is also very clean and organized. Did I mention that there’s free parking, too? Plus, it’s a locally owned and women-run business!

I love coming to Pure Barre in Shadyside. I look forward to seeing the instructors when I arrive for class. Everyone is so nice and very supportive. I have brought a handful of my friends and they all have enjoyed the classes. I also love how helpful the instructors are when you are fatiguing or struggling with an exercise, they will help give corrections while supporting you along the way.

I had the best experience with Pure Barre Shadyside! The workouts are easy to follow, but challenging and rewarding. The studio is super clean and well decorated. There is also free parking which is such a plus! Love this place.

I joined the pure barre community after discovering their super central location in shadyside while exploring the area. They have a massive parking lot so I never had any issues finding parking unlike the other gyms I have had memberships at in the past. They have multiple different types of classes and they will all kick your butt in the best way. I started with an intro class (free for new clients!) to learn about the equipment in the studio and experience how the flow of the class works. The staff is incredibly friendly and motivating. The other folks in class are also so kind and were helpful knowing that I was new. I always feel amazing after every class I have taken and can't wait to continue with Pure Barre. Whether you are a beginner, dancer, non dancer, HIIT workout girl, this workout is awesome and will tone you in all the right places. I love that I have added Pure Barre to my weekly workout routine and always look forward to my next class.

I have absolutely loved my first few weeks with Pure Barre Shadyside. I am a lift girly through and through and this pivot has been the best reset. I have tried the Define and Classic workout formats thus far, and I LOVE Define. It is the perfect balance of strength training and barre work, allowing me to switch things up while still doing my usual. The studio is so so clean and the staff could not be more friendly. LOVE!!!

I can’t say enough great things about Pure Barre Shadyside! The studio is spotless and beautifully maintained, creating such a welcoming and motivating environment. The class itself was both fun and challenging, and the instructor was absolutely fantastic—engaging, high-energy, and incredibly clear in breaking down each movement. I felt supported and confident the entire time, even as a beginner. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great workout and a great community!

Absolutely love going to Pure Barre Shadyside! The staff are so welcoming. It can be intimidating trying a new workout class but not at this Pure Barre location! The workouts are amazing and leave you feeling strong and toned. A plus here is that there is free parking, which you do not get at a lot of other workout studios in the city. Definitely recommend Pure Barre Shadyside!

Pure Barre Shadyside is 100% responsible for my fitness gains in strength and endurance. Attending classes regularly for two years has helped me become a faster runner, get injured less, and be able to lift my bicycle up the stairs without breaking a sweat. I owe it all to the amazing instructors and the great mix of choreo and class types. A welcoming environment - definitely start with the intro class to get the lay of the land!

I started attending Pure Barre Shadyside in February, and it has quickly become my favorite weekly routine! The instructors are phenomenal--always encouraging, knowledgeable, and intentional about offering personalized feedback and praise during each class. Every session is a full-body challenge that leaves me feeling stronger and more confident. I genuinely look forward to the workouts and love the variety of class formats available. The Pure Barre app makes scheduling super easy, and there are plenty of class times to fit any schedule. I can't recommend this study enough--it's welcoming, empowering, and truly the best!

Pure Barre Shadyside has been my happy place for over five years. It’s truly one of my favorite parts of the day. I love the variety of classes because they give me a full and balanced workout. Pure Barre is like my lifelong friend. It's been with me through thick and thin - 2 kids, a busted shoulder and failing knees, a pandemic, my entire 30's, grad school......no matter what crazy things life throws at me, I always have Pure Barre to clear my head and help me feel like the best version of myself.

I love how after 10+ years here, I'm still challenged. I love the variety of class times for my busy schedule. I love the low impact workouts that allow me to come even with said failing knees. I love the familiar faces I see on a weekly basis. Oh and I love the free parking. What more could I ask for?

My rec is to check out the first class since it's free. You have nothing to lose and a lot to gain (yes, even from those 2lb weights)!

I am moving to FL next week and in reflecting what I will miss about Pgh the most, the immediate answer is "Pure Barre Shadyside". I've taken over 1000 classes there and several at New York, Boston, Laguna Hills, Orlando and other places while traveling. I can definitively say that the teachers at Shadyside are the best I've experienced. Rachel give clear and accurate instructions and the best corrections. Kaitlin has the best stretches and Bergin has amazing energy. Best of all, the Pure Barre system is full proof. You cannot go wrong with this system. And the studio is wonderfully equipped and spacious too! If you are trying to decide on a workout, choose this one - it won't let you down.

A good workout, but its very difficult to hear/understand the instructor and classes seem to be geared towards people who already know how to do everything. Also overpriced, but definitely in line with other boutique fitness places in pittsburgh.

Edited to add: I sent a rather negative (maybe even mean?) response to the feedback survey that they sent after my class, and I got a lovely personalized response from the manager, Maura. She responded to each of my complaints individually and seemed appreciative of the feedback. She gave me two free classes (not as nice as a refund but I'll take it!). Maybe Pure Barre is just inconsistent? I've given it another chance and feel better about it after interacting with management and having a couple more *pretty good* experiences.
