My experience with Rachel at Steel City started when my wife's best friend recommended Rachel, and my wife raved about Rachel and suggested that I get off the couch and give her a try. After about 6 months I only regret that I hadn't known of Rachel sooner as I have noticed a big difference in my fitness level. Her expertise is quite evident in that she makes sure that you are doing the exercises correctly and efficiently, as opposed to wandering around various stations at the local community gym. She knows when she can push you to the next level and challenges you to work harder and improve, even when you are wondering if you can finish the set. And as an added bonus to her apparent skill and dedication, she is enjoyable to talk with, a lot of fun and the sessions fly by. This is my first Google review, and I can't recommend her enough.

I came to see Rachel after having some of the most difficult years of my life. Chronic migraines, two hard pregnancies and a back injury had me in a bad way. I worked with Rachel twice a week for over a year and I can honestly say I’m feeling the best I’ve felt in over a decade. I play tennis weekly, attend cardio and strength training classes at a gym now, and have gained belief in myself that I can regain my fitness. I used to pull my back out all the time from being weak, but I am doing so well now. Rachel helped me regain my confidence and built a strong base for all of the activity I want to do in my daily life. I was referred to Rachel by two of her other clients. Rachel is great to work with. She creates great workouts that work your whole body. No matter your level of fitness she will smoke you like an MCRD Parris Island Drill Instructor but without the screaming, yelling and sand.

I started personal training after my physical therapy prescription ran out. I have a spinal injury and Shannon has been so incredible at finding exercises that I am able to do and that will strengthen my spine (and the rest of me) without wearing me out too much. It is a fine line to walk and Shannon makes each session interesting and is constantly innovating so that I'm never bored! 18 months ago I was literally having trouble getting out of bed and now I lift twice a week and I'm teaching dance again!

I have been training with Rachel for almost a year. She is so sweet and extremely knowledgable! Each workout is catered to me specifically and she helped me strengthen my legs after a knee injury. I train off and on as I go to college in Ohio and she always makes sure to get me in the schedule and is extremely flexible.
