I love how they have different things going on for the adults and kids. Love the gym and the family locker room. Kids love it as well. Only thing with me is that you all do not use the Cafe. There should be coffee, orange juice, muffins and a simple menu that changes depending on the time of day. Because that's included in the membership and we are paying for that... but its never used. Stop being cheap and hire someone there that can offer those services, since WE ARE PAYING FOR IT or take it out the membership.....and coffee at the front desk shouldn't be charged to members. You're already getting 150 plus out of people.

For $91 and change a month.(If you pay up front for the year), this is what you'll get. Unfortunately prices have increased, as services and amenities fade. The sauna, jacuzzi, or whatever isn't functioning, is down for months at a time. (For maintenance, "waiting on parts" etc.). No more complimentary towel service.
And these are literally what we pay the premium for.
Cleanliness isn't key focus either, come on doc. We aren't asking for miracles man.

Absolutely terrible experience with this gym and with their assistant manager. I normally don’t leave reviews, but the lack of transparency and basic customer service here has been very disappointing.

My husband and I joined on a month-to-month plan, paying a higher monthly rate specifically to avoid any long-term commitments or extra annual fees. Despite this, the gym charged us an undisclosed annual fee after just three months of membership. When I questioned this, the assistant manager emailed me a copy of the fine print stating that the annual fee date would “be determined at later date” — but this date was never disclosed or communicated to us at any point when we signed up. If the gym wants to charge extra annually, that cost should be built into the monthly rate, not buried in fine print and sprung on members who deliberately chose the more expensive month-to-month plan. We should not be expected to pay an “annual” fee when we never agreed to an annual membership.

Additionally, when my husband asked the front desk how to cancel, they simply told him he needed to fill out an online form. No one mentioned a 30-day notice requirement. When I brought this up with the assistant manager, he again hid behind the fine print and refused to acknowledge that this policy was never communicated verbally. I explained that the lack of disclosure was the issue — he still refused to address it. When I asked for the issue to be escalated, he replied only that the situation was “being handled at the appropriate level” and that he would not be escalating it. I then politely asked again for the contact information of someone above him — and he simply never responded.
Because of this, we are now being forced to pay for an additional month, despite submitting our cancellation six days before the next billing cycle — something any reasonable business would honor, especially when the member had already paid a premium for the month-to-month option.

Separately, we initially joined because of the on-site daycare, but the weekday hours are extremely restrictive and not realistic for working parents. Our daughter also became sick after being there because they do not triage or turn away visibly sick children — there was essentially no illness screening.

As for the gym itself:
• The equipment is old, outdated, noisy, and very limited.
• The men’s sauna barely even gets warm, making it essentially unusable.
• The gym is consistently dirty, with poor upkeep and cleanliness compared to other facilities in the area.

The only positive experience we had was with the front desk and sales staff — especially Christian, who helped sign us up and was genuinely kind and professional throughout. Unfortunately, their courtesy doesn’t make up for the management issues or the overall poor quality and transparency of the gym. All of this is especially unacceptable given how high their monthly membership fee is — the value simply isn’t there.

Between the lack of transparency, poor facilities, and dismissive management, this gym is absolutely not worth the premium price. We deeply regret joining and hope others avoid the frustration we’ve experienced.

Update to my first post: We've been going here for about 6 months now. I really have nothing to complain about. The staff is friendly, the gym is maintained regularly, and the outdoor pool just opened. They have a schedule of entertainment for the pool area island they have adult only events too.

I have been a loyal member at Valley Wellness Center for over five years, paying $85 a month. For the last three+ weeks, the sauna has been unreliable — sometimes it works, other times it shuts down after just a few minutes. Today, it went cold only three minutes into my session.

What makes this worse is how my concern was handled. When I brought it up, the manager I spoke with was dismissive and told me he was “only in charge of sales.” He said it’s given to a contractor and they have to fix it. Also told me there is nothing more i can say beyond what he told me and walked away. That kind of attitude is unacceptable, especially toward a long-term customer. After five years of membership, I expect issues to be taken seriously and addressed promptly, not brushed off.

The facilities themselves could be great, but the lack of accountability and poor customer service are very disappointing.

So much potential in this place but the upkeep leaves much to be desired. Keep in mind this place is not cheap, understandable given the sheer size of the building and offerings. However, I know I speak for a lot of people when I say the upkeep needs to be ongoing. A lot of equipment is VERY worn down, some are completely broken and often things are out of order. Some of the outdoor tables at the pool are completely tattered and frayed. At the very least, given this is a “wellness center” the housekeeping should be on point. It’s not the most assuring sight to see that much dust in the locker room. When things are broken, it usually takes months to get fixed. Overall, disappointing given the untapped potential of such a large gym facility.

As far as gyms go. This is the experience I would hope for when it comes to building a gym community. Something for the whole family.

It would be 5 stars if some of their maintenance was more on point. There are some items that really need some TLC.

I just joined this gym about a month ago and am severely disappointed. Based on the money I spent for the down payment ($300) , plus the 168/ mos for my daughter and me I was expecting a very clean, friendly, welcoming environment. By far, my biggest complaint is how dirty the locker rooms, pool and hot tub area is every time we have gone. Yesterday there were young kids in the indoor pool area eating chips/soda and dropping food in the pool. In all the times I have been there I have not seen one person cleaning the facility. At another gym I go to, a lady cleaned the locker room every hour during usage. This place is filthy. Also, the people at the desk don’t even say hi back when we greet them. Don’t waste your money here.

Nice gym, kind of clean. For $90 a month though there are barely any resistance bands, not much weights. And charges $12 a month on top of the $90 membership just to use towels to swim. Honestly the greediest gym I’ve ever been to and i’ve been to many gyms. You would think for $90 a month you could use towels, have a spotless gym to workout at and have a lot more little pieces of equipment such as bands.

Husband and I joined approximately two years ago - paid annual dues for a small discount. Only used the weight room and no one was available to assist with usage of the machines. Few months after we joined, we both had health issues that kept us from using the gym. In order to freeze membership we would have had to pay more money. Our membership expired and months later, I noticed a charge on our credit card from the facility. Apparently we were being charged for towel service when no longer a member. My husband brought this to their attention. Charges stopped but we won't receive a reimbursement for the charges.

Ive visited hundreds of gyms throughout the US and I really want to give this place 5 stars cuz it has potential but honestly for the money you spend (at least $80/month for a membership) it falls short. Ive been coming here for a few months now and this is what Ive observed:

They dont give you towels but looks like at one point they did. The women’s bathroom doesn’t look like they’re cleaned regularly. Theres always hair in the shower drainer.

They make you pay for a small cup of some cheap coffee. 🙄

For the all the space they have, they don’t have alot of weight training machines which is the biggest let down. Ive seen way more machines at Planet Fitness. They have a ton of cardio machines and most of them are not even used.

And my last least favorite thing is the lack of friendliness of the first desk staff. They barely greet when you walk in. And I’ve experienced rudeness from the one front desk employee.

Honestly if it wasnt for the steam room/sauna/hot tub/pools and the activities they do for kids, I wouldn’t come here.

Nice pool, and decent facilities. Could be so so much better. Their cleaners do a very poor job on cleanliness and seem fixated on pressure washing the poolside shower area. However, the shower stalls are really mouldy and dirty and no attempt seems to made to deal with that. Shower stalls and drains are constantly covered human hair that never gets removed. The soap and shampoo units are more frequently empty than full. The Nazareth YMCA did a much better job on cleanliness. For the pricing, the lack of cleanliness is appalling. Providing feedback is not welcomed at reception. A suggestion for management is to make it easy to provide feedback via a system where members can provide it easily and see actions being taken to rectify the issues. Not sure if it is lack of training, extremely low standards or just indifference. It should be fixed. Some front desk personnel can be rude and not helpful. Customer service training needed or switch them out. Again, compare to the Nazareth YMCA, performance is very poor.

Once again the steam room is down. The last time it was down for 6 months and management shows zero initiative to get it fixed. When I asked how long it would take the one older employee was extremely rude and the other just kept saying I don’t know. At least have a tentative timeline. The sauna is never hot always lukewarm. For what they charge here I would expect they do the little things right but I guess not. Very disappointed and annoyed at the staff for not caring about the facility.

This gym is absolutely horrible. Not at all a safe place or a safe environment to workout in. One month into my membership and i’m getting yelled at/threatened by 60+ year old men that just sit and stare at everyone. A few weeks ago there was older guy in there screaming some younger girls trying to workout. I tried to leave and cancel my membership because I refuse to pay 130$ a month to consistently have my workout interrupted by old screaming men. It’s an extremely weird environment and I don’t feel comfortable having me or my kid go there.

My husband and I have been members for about 2 years, paid in full yearly membership. Recently disappointed by the front desk person. He was very rude when I asked him to sign me in. The app on my phone was not connecting and this guy was giving me a major attitude. A few moment later I decided to go back and tell the manager. Saw Russell and Christian and told them what happened. Instead of apologizing, they ganged up and told me about the policy of not signing people in. Besides the point I tried to make and I was so humiliated. A few days later, my husband talked to Christian and told him that the attitude and the guy being rude was the issue. I know I can't cancel our membership due to contract but because of this we will not renew. Ever since, nobody even acknowledge me when I came in. There is a reason this "gym" has so many bad reviews.

I joined this gym mainly for the use of the indoor pool. I was assured when joining that there was a lot of open availability
Not true

In fact in the summer when they open the pool to non members, it becomes a circus in the locker rooms

It took weeks to schedule my initial consultation with a fitness coach

The "cafe" is a ridiculous selection of foods that are not aligned with your fitness goals

The locker rooms are dirty. Yes, I did tell the front desk multiple times- but to be fair, there is a new person there every week- they don't care

When I attempted to cancel my membership after a year. They made it ridiculously hard and drew out the process.

The gym equipment was nice.

**Continuation from Devon Harris's post**

2 days later...
We go back to the gym, now our trial has expired and we're in our 3 day grace period to use the money towards our enrollment fee. We spoke to the manager, again. At this point, we just wanted a refund. She apologized saying that there's nothing they could do but they could give us two 7 day trial passes for friends and family. Now, think about that. They wanted US to promote their gym after they scammed us. Before we left, we asked for the owner's email, which they refused to give. They tried to give us the INFO email, but they admitted it was a shared email between the managers and owner. So, if we emailed, how could we be sure the owner was actually emailing us and not the mangers? So instead, we asked for the owner's phone number. They gave us his office extension at the gym. We assured them that we would be calling him. Again, this was all done in a public space.

We tried to call the owner 3 times and gave him a week to respond. He did not respond to us. This really proved to us that they did not care about their customers and only cared about obtaining money.

Since the owner/managers would not help us, they left us no choice but to charge back through my credit card company.

It is a beautiful and wonderful place to the right people. Upon entry, we are impressed with the building, the parking lot and the service desk and the very spacious lobby. Everything gives the aurora of a resort. the basketball court is NICE and clean. The bathrooms and family change rooms are nice. We did not try the machines. The drawback for us is the swimming pool. The room and water temperature is too not for training. For kids to play, there is no lifeguard on duty. Every piece of metal in the swimming area is rusty. The good part is that there are bicycles in the water for people to ride. Then i realized that it is called “Wellness Center”. Maybe it is meant for people to do therapy or recover or hang out. I hope the center could survive and prosper. I do not think it is for serious swimmers. but if you are close by, this center offers a lot of warmth and comfort and niceties like a Florida resort.

Terrible "High end" fitness center. Nothing is EVER cleaned. In 3 years of membership I've NEVER seen a worker wipe down machines, clean steam room, sauna, or hot tub. Steam room smells like mold, sauna is stained with sweat and black grime. No hot water for 1 month. Steam room was just proven for a month. Hot tub is broken. How can staffing and duplicate be a issue still but planet fitness, LA fitness and other surrounding gyms have a multiple cleaning staff all day long cleaning and sanitizing, all seem to keep maintenance issues up and source parts needed. For 12 times the month tuition as planet fitness I'd expect much more. Gym even charges outrageous amounts for any gym events like kid movie nights, egg hunts and more.

I’ve attended multiple high end gyms, and this one is just ok. Clean facility and friendly staff but for the monthly price… missing a lot of essentials. Outdated locker rooms, showers are rusty, steam room usually smells like mold, no complimentary feminine products or paper towels, no towel service and there’s very little fitness classes available and few time slots. And then the classes always fill up so your unable to attend unless you commit 24 hours in advance.

Also something is broken every other month. Last month the steam room, now the hot tub is out of order.

It’s a good gym, just over priced for what it’s actually offering in my opinion. The pool looks cool though.

The real winner of this place however is the Kids Center. The individuals who work in here are fantastic. They interact with the kids (coloring, playing cards, etc) and have gone above and beyond (like helping my child with her homework). Furthermore, they offer 4 different Jr classes during the week. I thought this was a great gym, but after falling on hard times, losing my job, and being a single mother I was unable to make a payment in the month of July. I asked if there was any way to cancel or pause my membership, I didn’t fit the criteria to pause it due to the contract. They informed me that if I didn’t get back to them within 7 days they would sue me. I responded to the email 2 days later offering to pay July and August the following month. I told them that I wanted to keep my membership due to me signing a contract for a year. I was ignored over and over I called multiple times and was told by employees that someone would reach out to me and no one every did after multiple attempts I gave up. Today I was served now I’m being sued. All I needed was a chance for them to WORK with me and you’d think after paying $130 a month they would accommodate in some way. But this was 10000% WRONG This has to be the worst gym I’ve ever come across. Keep in my if sign up with them READ THE FINE PRINT they will DELIBERATELY leave information out.

I’ve called a total of 4 times in the last month for information. I left several messages with staff and on the machine. I was told I would get a call back to make an appointment to talk with someone and STILL have not had a call back. Just based off that it’s Bad business. I won’t be going here and I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Just joined during the $4 promotional joiners fee. Took a tour couple weeks ago and liked it. For a family of 5 it isn't very cheap, but they do have a lot of included. Classes, childcare, indoor + outdoor pool and other amenities. Plus at an additional cost chiropractor, pain management, and spa. Looking forward to actually going.

Best gym (Club) in the Lehigh Valley. Courteous staff that greets you with a friendly welcome, plenty of space for workouts, great classes, awesome pool. Anyone who has a complaint about this place must be beyond spoiled at home. Never been to a better gym, sadly I’m relocating or I would’ve been a lifer. AWESOME 10 stars if I could.

I have been a member here for about 6 months. There are ups and downs. Nicole at the front desk is always friendly and takes the time to learn everyone’s name and care about their family. I’m SO sad to hear that the kitchen already closed. Greg made great breakfast wraps and was so friendly to the staff, as well. Ariana is the sweetest when we bring our daughter in-she loves to see her!
The facility can be dirty though I understand management has been trying to find more cleaning staff.
My suggestion for management…STOP MICROMANAGING. Pay your staff what they are worth and they will do their jobs happily and well.
I am excited to see what the pool is like in the summer but if there is no food and drink being served, that will be disappointing.
For the price we pay monthly, it will be a discussion to see if we will continue after the year is up if nothing changes.
Hopefully management takes advice from someone who views this facility 5 times per week and talks to the staff often!

The facilities are very good but they are not kept up well. The fitting rooms and especially the showers are often dirty, soap dispensers don't work well and are not refilled regularly. Sauna and steam room are not cleaned regularly. Overall, management is not doing a good job making sure the facility is kept clean. Given the cost of the membership, some of these issues shouldn't really exist, yet they do.

Recently I received an email from this establishment complaining of staffing shortages that would be affecting hours and services offered. I’m writing this review in response to that as well as poor general business practices at this place of business.

There were evident staffing problems at this business prior to the inception of the pandemic. Just look at the other business reviews on this Google page over a period of several years. This business has welcomed, created, and spurred on controversy since its establishment due to poor business practices and frankly, poor character of ownership.

It makes me feel exhausted to even say something so obvious, but you would not have a labor shortage if you treated your employees well and paid them fairly. Your employees run your business, and although I'm sure the owner has tricked himself into thinking he might be the brains behind this operation, employees do in fact work very hard at this business, and deserve more than a measly <$9/hr. This business and its owners are selfish and greedy, locking members into ridiculously anti-consumer, expensive contracts, and then trickling down a measly, meager sum to those who are unfortunate enough to have to work for them, because I'm certain that were these employees offered the choice, they would work absolutely anywhere else. And that is what you are seeing in practice with these "staffing shortages;" frankly you should call it a business sense shortage; The staffers should know better.

It is an obviously poor business decision that you would rather send an email to your members and threaten to reduce operating hours and services offered and hurt your existing business than actually pay employees more to provide good services to current and potential customers. Your customer service model is a joke, and you can have it that way for a time because members are locked into contracts with you that you have, by design, made extremely difficult if not impossible to extricate oneself from.

I recommend feeling embarrassed that you need to beg members for workforce recommendations because your strategies for hiring and retaining workers aren't working. I recommend you learn from your mistakes instead of begging for help, trying nothing although there are obvious solutions, and embarrassing yourself.

In conclusion, I would love to have you know that I pay planet fitness $10/mo and they're fully staffed. They pay more than you do, and retain a more willing-to-be dedicated, knowledgeable, and consumer-friendly workforce than your current salary structure allows your employees to strive for. To reiterate, I do not blame your employees, both present and past, one bit for quitting, or maintaining no motivation to work hard for your backwards, selfish business model.

If your business isn't doing well, it's your fault and your responsibility as failed business owners. That is the free market at work, and you can't blame a pandemic for that when we're almost 2 years deep in it. Not to mention you skirted pandemic restrictions putting everyone at risk because you are a "wellness center" and not a gym... you obviously do not care about the wellness of your own consumers as well as your unfalteringly loyal employees.

The facility is beautiful; however, that cannot solve the issue of having a terrible General Manager. Annalise has absolutely no customer service skills and comes across as more standoffish than friendly. Until you fix your issue with management, you'll have a lot of trouble finding staff that would want to work for that. It's a shame.

This is the worst gym! They have horrible management and will lie to you until they are blue in the face to get you to sign up! They have changed the daycare hours and close it even when it should be open. Due to the changes I wanted to reduce a child on the membership and they are charging me a fee. Then when I called the so called manager Emily had horrible customer service skills and basically told me it doesnt matter if two staff members lied she isnt goingn to help me or give me the owners email or contact info.

I am recovering from a horrible illness and I want to gain my strength back and lose weight! What I also love about this place whether you work here or belong here I have never met a person I didn’t care for! Nick Rodrigues is going to be my trainer soon and I couldn’t ask for better! He truly cares and wants me to succeed! I posted pictures of the outside pool this summer and people were asking where I was on vacation lol! I told them not far from home they couldn’t believe how beautiful it looks! Just wanted to give a great review because I believe you should recognise the good things and not complain about the petty things!

I honestly don't even know what to score this place considering the circumstances but since I'm a fair and reasonable person unlike many others I'll give it a 2 which is where it belongs. The facility is top notch and the amenities are endless but the staff is absolutely terrible. There are a few good employees at the front desk who are friendly and deserve credit but 75% of the rest of the staff are beyond horrible. The manager and assistant manager are one step from useless/braindead and have no business running a business and don't train any of the lower staff members and it's to the point where it's gotta be embarrassing for the owner. The outdoor pool is excellent but the Cafe is horrendous. Food is awful and overpriced and rarely is it even hot when it comes out because there's 3 kids back there with no experience just throwing stuff together with no pride for what they're doing but that's to be expected when your only paying 9 bucks an hour. So how about getting rid of all 3 of the kitchen staff which totals 27 an hour and hiring one experienced cook for 20 an hour who can actually keep people happy and coming back and then maybe the Cafe would actually make money and maybe you wouldn't have to shut it down when the pool closes since the Cafe is supposed to be one of the perks of the place along with the purple pool lighting at night but unfortunately the pool closes once the lights are on and the mood is good. Nothing but complains from members about the Cafe and the constantly changing pool hours and how inexperienced and lousey the staff is and yet when people mention it to the Manager or Owner they just get blown off like they're nobody's. And despite all the complaints and rumors about the Owner I stuck with the place. It needs new management plain and simple.

I was looking for a new gym/club since my LA Fitness still had not fully opened. I was really missing the sauna and pool. I called VWC and was told there facility was fully operational. I was VERY skeptical will all these terrible reviews and was hesitant to even go for a tour. Well I was VERY impressed both with the cleanliness of the entire facility and the friendly staff and customers. I was given a tour by Annalise and she was friendly and knowledgeable. the signup process was easy and they helped me set up auto pay and receive a discount for paying in full. The sauna was SPOTLESS. The pools (yes pools, they have three) indoor and one outdoor had crystal clear water and was quite inviting. the lap pool was 84 degrees and the therapy pool was in the 90's it was heaven. My plan was to join on a month to month bases until my less expensive La Fitness re-opens fully and then go back to LA but I was so impressed I joined for a six month trial and will probably renew to a full year plan once my six month plan expires. If you are considering VWC they offer a one day pass for a few bucks. give that a try and judge for yourself.

VWC is a beautiful facility... unfortunately the owner is very strange, constantly changes family hours and rules, and has terrible communication. Now in time of Covid we are scared to use facility (since we have a 2 year old with respiratory issues who is considered high risk) and even more so since all marketing appears to be based around the liquor license they got and opening up the outdoor pool to guests and happy hour parties... all in complete violation of social distancing rules. Way to turn your beautiful facility into a bar and party focus. You’re going to lose our family as members and I know many others also plan to leave. We joined as a family prior to the club even being finished with construction ... and you’re going to be losing lots of good family annual paid in full memberships and replace them with guests at your pool bar. The math isn’t going to be in your favor. Very sad.
